The BEST old Florida Time Machine with INCREDIBLE food and INCREDIBLE service! They don't need the reviews, but as a first timer - 10/10!!! The best shrimp I've ever had. Just perfect. Can't believe I waited so long to get here. I was worried about parking & it can be busy but they have their own parking lot & there are also some paid spots nearby. They will have a wait, but since there were just 2 of us we were able to get counter service pretty quickly!

Came here October 2025 for the fried shrimp. It was very good. It is fried in a light batter. Comes with a nice sauce and they also have their own hot sauce. The hush puppies were Delicious. The coleslaw was super creamy and full of flavor. I got a side of the peas They were okay but they were served only lukewarm. This place has pretty good prices and we got in fairly quickly around 7:00 p.m. on a Thursday night.

Unpopular opinion.... My family did not care for this restaurant. It was recommended to us more than once, including one local saying they had the best shrimp in Florida. We waited about 45 mins for a table, so we were hungry when we got seated. The food looked good, and the waitress was great. But once we started eating, I noticed no one was saying a word. Normally we would be saying oh wow, try this, this is so good, etc. my main issue was the texture of the fried shrimp was super firm. It seemed like someone took a piece of boiled shrimp and then fried it. It was just weird. Side dishes were just ok. The restaurant itself is quite dated, and to get to the restroom, you have to go outside. Plus, it is cash only, which is inconvenient. I don't not recommend this restaurant when so many others are available nearby.

Omg. Best fried shrimp in Florida. Must try and also try the pickled beets and cucumbers. Delicious deliciousness. Ambiance is cool but service is absolutely amazing. Great good affordable quality food

The best Shrimp you can get when you visit St Augustine, FL. The shrimp is melting in your mouth. Delicious and fresh. They also have a lots of fish and delicious side dish. The service is amazing. You have to bring CASH , they don't accept cards. They also closed on Monday and some days during the holiday. You need to check in their web before go. The restaurant is nice with a fire place and some cute Christmas decorations. This place is a must visit.

Amazing food and service. Parking can be a struggle depending on how busy they are. Brittany was absolutely amazing! Shrimp was excellent! Hush puppies were fresh and tasty. Save room for the dessert. Four of us enjoyed a late lunch for under $20 each. We were full when we left. Definitely worth the time and effort. Did I say Brittany was amazing?! Cash only. Comfortable

Delicious! Love the local hang out. Cash only, quick service, family atmosphere, local staple

9/4/25 It's always good to eat at Osteens! It's best to come early or late or be prepared to sit outside in the heat/cold (depends on season) until a table is cleared..lol. They have a variety on the menu but I think the preferred item is their fried shrimp which is my preferred! We got a bowl of Majorcan chowder and honestly, we were disappointed-the potatoes weren't cooked all the way, seasoning was off and very little clams. If it was like this regularly... we would not order it again but it hasn't so we'll assume a bad night for soup makers?!?

Several You tube searches for St Augustine restaurants led us to O'Steens. About 45minute wait on Friday evening. Seating is limited but they have a good system for getting people in and out. Our waitress (Jess) was busy but took great care of our table. The menu is easy and they are known for great fried shrimp. It was very good. We got a lot of food for reasonable prices. Was really good and I can see why they are usually so busy. Good food and good service are found here.

Fried shrimp Sliced beets Hush Puppies Fries

My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience here, and it truly felt like classic home-style cooking at its best. We enjoyed the steamed shrimp, fried clams, hush puppies, mashed potatoes, green beans, sliced beets, and finished with the coconut cream pie for dessert--everything was absolutely delicious. The entire wait staff was friendly and welcoming, but Brittany especially stood out. She was attentive, cheerful, and constantly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. Her service really made the evening even more enjoyable. We visited on a Wednesday night, and the place was packed with a wait--which says a lot. They've just celebrated their 60th anniversary, and it's easy to see why they've lasted so long. Great food, great service, and a true hometown atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Easter Parade on Saturday, was crowed as expected, but no wait. Service was very good, prompt with a pleasant attitude and smile. Like the feel of the restaurant, in that its style reminded me of restaurants growing up. I opted for the Chicken & Dumplings that was on special. Well seasoned with plenty of chicken. Sides were pickled beets & cucumber salad. Both my favorites. Saw the shrimp that every one talks about? I will just say, that they appear small.

Still going strong with fresh and amazing dishes along with super friendly staff that keeps a good check on your table! Definitely check this place out!

Catch 27 - St. Augustine, FL…read more Came to St. Augustine with a group and Catch 27 was suggested for dinner. Great choice. I checked the Yelp reviews ahead of time and it definitely lived up to them. People in our group started with drinks and everyone at the table seemed happy with what they ordered. I had the red wine braised beef brisket for my main and it was excellent, very tender and full of flavor. My friend Damon next to me had the red snapper and I tried some of that too. Also very good. Someone else at the table had the Rockefeller crusted snapper and that looked and tasted great as well. For appetizers, I had the shaved pear and blue cheese salad. It was really good and honestly enough for two people to share as an appetizer. People at the table also ordered the Devils on Horseback and liked them. I do not eat bacon, but they were happy with that dish. The deviled eggs with southern fried oysters looked really good, and I had the smoked salmon spread, which was very good too. I also saw the shrimp and grits come out for someone else and that dish looked excellent. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding and it was a strong finish to the meal. Others at the table ordered the seasonal crème brûlée, which was chocolate that night. It looked great and everyone who had it said it was very good. Sunny was our waitress and she did an exceptional job. Attentive, kind, and on top of everything the whole night. In my mind this is about a 4.7 star experience, and I am rounding it up to a full 5 stars. Catch 27 is a great choice in St. Augustine.

There was no one at hostess stand because system was down and they were having troubles which I felt bad for the hostess who seemed stressed on obviously a busy night. They were out of both of the entrees we wanted, which was unfortunate but I ended up getting the catch beurre blanc and it was delicious. I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Would love to try it again on a regular night and hopefully they have the entrees we wanted to try:)

I didn't order the brunch menu because no sides were listed on the menu- my friends ordered brunch and they all came with home fries - would have been good to know. Also the avocado toast literally had 2 small slivers of avocado on it. Wasn't worth the $30 bill after adding a Diet Coke too, so i don't plan to come back for brunch.

We had reservations at 2:30 for a party of 11, but with the rain and thunderstorms moving in, our table was outside. I asked Alex if there was any way we could possibly sit inside, and she immediately went above and beyond to help. She walked around to check on available tables and came back to let us know a large table was finishing up and that as soon as it was cleaned, it would be ours. About 15-20 minutes later, we were seated inside. Our waiter, Josh, greeted us with a smile and was extremely friendly and attentive. He quickly took our drink orders, came back with waters for the entire table, and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The service, food, and atmosphere were all amazing. We truly had a wonderful experience and highly recommend giving The Boathouse a try!

Variety!) plus who doesn't love the color of an Aperol spritz at sunset?! Once our party arrived we were sat and we decided on just a bunch of appetizers. Had to start with Oysters. There were so many options and honestly I forget which we decided on - but the server mentioned they were a little small but tasty. Imagine our surprise when they were absolutely not small! We also had some fries which were the exact right amount of crispy and seasoned and some fish nuggets. Also perfectly crispy and seasoned. Our server was lovely. Kept our drinks full and had some fun banter with the table. Also, if you've not ever been make sure there isn't rain in the schedule because sitting outside is glorious. And they only have valet parking (also very pleasant people). Can't wait for my next visit!

She was very kind and accommodating as we were looking for a specific table location on the patio. I would also like to shout out our server, Tom, who was also friendly. Unfortunately, service is only half of the experience. We started with a dozen raw oysters that were just not fresh. They were stuck to the shell and tasted very old. Our entrees were the beet salad and tuna poke bowl, which were both pretty good, but my wife complained about the abundance of candied nuts in the beet salad. The entertainment was meh. The manager was constantly petting the house kitty cat and then handling food, drinks and shaking customer hands. Seemed odd. Their sushi chef recently passed away so nothing related to sushi on the menu was available made to order. The place just needs proper leadership and could be a much more enjoyable experience in a town with few options on the water.
