Well no bad guys ever showed up, and the hucksterism was pretty low key. The excitement was not to be had either but it was obvious that these trucks are feeding a lot of people. If they were only able to lower their prices even a little they could be feeding even more but I guess their overhead is probably pretty high even for a parked truck. Anyway I was expecting a bit lower price scale, but it is what it is. So .. For fifteen bucks plus tax and tips I got the seared salmon. The fish was nicely cooked, I enjoyed it. The vegetables were pretty meh but did help bring more of the sauce to the palate. Yes, the sauce was good, right on the verge of too much soy, but they did a good job keeping it balanced. The salmon portion size was small, but not insultingly tiny. Could have been a bit larger for the $15, the value is not there only if you compare to what you make at home, otherwise it's probably disappointedly normal. When you get your six inch diameter bowl you will see what I mean. The heap of rice made for good entertainment feeding the chickens. You're discouraged from feeding them so I just sat the bowl down behind the coffee guys trailer and watched them pig out. It is not exactly "Fast" food here, they are actually cooking the meal while you wait. I had my order in 12 minutes though, exactly how long she said it would take.

If you can't find a picnic table you may have to eat in your car. I ordered the Kula Burger. It was quite good. Is it a premium $15 burger? No it is not, but it wants to be. I would suggest a bit more size and you got it. The patty was cooked medium plus, still exhibiting juice. It was well over a half inch thick which is a rarity these days. If it could just make it to 3/4 inch (Cooked) it would be awesome. The jack cheese was very mild, adding little to the flavor. The sauce was a good compliment to the flavor of the meat that had that lean taste to it. The bun was pretty fluffy, kind of dominating. It was toasted on the inside faces but still needs a bit more heat. It held up well though to the end, not at all turning mushy. Over all, not bad, above average for sure.

My partner and I are regulars here. We think this lil food truck has the best pad thai on island! I love that it comes with a small serving of salad. The dressing is delicious and you can purchase a jar of it to use at home. Bring cash and avoid the 3% credit card service fee. Also pop in and support the little farmer's stand next door! 100% sure thats where the food truck gets their produce, you can tell the produce is real fresh! read more

I LOVE Thai Food because of how much vegetables they add to their dishes with savory sauces and aromatics like Thai Basil and Garlic to perfume it all and Bangkok Modern Thai did it justice. I ordered a Thai Basil Stir Fry with Chicken and the sauce is very tasty! They added lots of yummy vegetables like broccoli, green pepper, onion, and carrots and they sprinkled some fried garlic crispies on top for a little crunch. You have a choice of different proteins like Chicken, Tofu, Pork, Beef and Shrimp that can be added to their Stir Fry, Curries and Noodles. The prices are great too ranging from $16-18. I wanted to try their Thai Iced Tea but they ran out and they didn't have any other drink options. I shall be back! Be sure to watch for the sign as you approach - we drove by the first time and came back to make it into the parking lot. The person taking orders was helpful and warned us right away that they were out of curry. The person who makes it measures from her heart, won't share her recipe, and was out shopping. We shared the fried rice with chicken and some spring rolls. It was all so delicious, and fun to sit on the deck and watch the road and town while relaxing after the crazy road. My real praise starts a couple hours later. As we made it to our next stop, I remember that I had never taken my bag off the back of the chair back at the restaurant! I called as soon as we had a phone signal again, and the gentleman who answered the phone assured me right away that he'd seen it and was keeping it safe. I told him we'd be back for it the next day, and he told me what time he'd be there. Luckily for me, hubs drove back alone the next day (he loves the road, and it's more fun for him without me panicking from the passenger seat). The man at the restaurant said he'd tried to get our attention as we left, and again when we drove by after visiting the shore! I was so grateful to have my stuff back, and be able to board our plane the next day with my id. P.S. - the food and service was 5 stars even if they hadn't helped with my mix up later!
