The 19" Deluxe
Alex B.

Looking for the best pizza of your life? Check out Maui Slice! After taking a hopper for explore Maui for the first time, my mom and I were looking to fill the void with some tasty food. Driving the Road to Hana complicates things as there aren't many places to stop for a real meal for sometimes hours at a time. After finally getting some signal again for the first time since Hana, we elected to give Maui Slice a try. The place itself is rather unassuming, but don't let that fool you. We were the only patrons during the time we were there and had a view of the valley to ourselves. The service was top-notch, and pricing was fair especially for Hawaii. There was one employee working serving a variety of 19" pies as well as individual slices. After a short period of time, we received our deluxe pizza. The quality was superb from the crispy-yet-still-doughy crust, to the flavorful sauce, the perfect amount of cheese, and the deliciously cooked premium toppings. It reminded me of one of my favorite shops growing up, and was a perfect way to wrap up an amazing day on the island. Give Maui Slice a try. You won't be disappointed.

Don't know, but it's cool!

We were in upcountry for a farm tour and stopped here for a quick slice! Delicious, made to order. Nice outdoor rustic seating--totally recommend this place.

Great pizza and great price. My wife and I grabbed a couple of slices prior to heading up to Haleakala. I had the Maui and BBQ chicken. She had a slice of the cheese. I would say all the slices were good but were missing something that would make them great. I would happily eat here again and for the price it's a great deal!

Finding a good classic pizza truck is always a great find, and I'm happy to say that Maui Slice absolutely is top-notch and a cut (or many cuts for a full pizza pie) above the rest - I originally found out about it through my friend Bailey who helped design their logo, and after getting to try a couple of different pizza flavors there, I'm absolutely looking forward to trying more on my future visits - Miguel Morales Photography

Amazing, especially considering the location. It is off Hwy 37 right around the turnoff for Haleakala. Just a couple miles out of the way. Do yourself a favor and drive those couple of miles. The pizza has a nice flavor and a nice crisp crust on the bottom. Served quick and hot. Prices not too bad. I'll go ahead and play the 'I'm from NJ card where we do take these things seriously. This is seriously good pizza. Please patronize this place. He can't be getting a lot of random drive by business. It is a little tough to spot from the road so keep an eye on that GPS.

Crust holds up nicely!

Staying nearby and we had heard about Maui Slice at dinner the night before from our awesome server. For my NY born husband he can be pretty particular about his pizza, but this was a home run! As others have said very large, great not floppy crust, and generous toppings. Thank you Greg! Wishing you much success!

Never got a chance to really go around Kula side because I always felt the ride was FAR from all the other places I would stop to eat at. Skipped Wailuku and was able to visit a lot of the shops. Searched FOOD on Yelp and this pizza place popped up. IM SOOOO GLAD IT DID. Outdoor scenery with alot of the greenery around you. Pretty nice. Pizza made from scratch?! Concoctions like no other. YES PLEASE! Owner was very friendly. Talked stories while we waited for our pizza. Anything Alfredo I'm down! This pizza was soooo good & sooo big! This is one slice ya'll! I was so full after eating half but we still had the whole day ahead of us Eh when u go other islands, you go for eat good!

Veggie pizza and pepperoni pizza

Really good pizza spot! We called 15 minutes before they closed and they let us place an order still. They were kind enough to wait almost 30 minutes after closing for us to go and pick up the pizzas. The pepperoni pizza was so good - they did not skimp on the pepperoni! Definitely would go back!

Overall great experience and best pizza on Maui hands down! Stellar location. Incredible view of the ocean, the island and the valley. I lived in New York for years and honestly, this competes with any pie I've ever had in the city.

Greg, the owner! Super nice! Amazing pizza chef!
Kevin K.

This is the best pizza on the island! No kidding! You have to try it. East coast style NYC pizza--the dough hits different. Greg is amazing!

Pepperoni whole pie

We enjoyed a delicious pepperoni pizza from Greg at Maui Slice! My, what a large pie at a reasonable price. Generous with the pepperonis and yummy ooey-gooey cheese. Leftovers were tasty as well and kept us fed for a couple days ... do yourself a favor and stop by this truck!

Mushroom, pepperoni, sausage & capicola. Mmmmm!

Almost a NY Slice! Definitely scratches the itch when you need a taste of home. Could use a few more topping but not a game stopper.

We had a great night at Marlow in Upcountry Maui--this place is absolutely worth the drive…read more First tip: bring a jacket or sweater. It's cool up there, and it adds to the cozy, Upcountry vibe. Marlow is a lively spot with an open kitchen that makes the whole experience feel energetic and welcoming. Definitely make a reservation. We ran into a delay getting up the hill due to a downed utility pole and messaged through the OpenTable app. Eden, who was hosting that night (and we later learned also serves), immediately called us, walked us through the menu, and even got our order started so we wouldn't hold up service. She was incredibly knowledgeable and set the tone for the evening with genuine hospitality. At the bar, Jesse, our bartender, took great care of us. From the drink menu, he made an excellent Black Cherry Manhattan with Burning Chair bourbon, Cocchi di Torino, cherry, and Angostura bitters--smooth, balanced, and delivered tableside. We also enjoyed a bottle of Gamay wine, which paired beautifully with the food and rounded out the meal. For dinner: * Mafaldine Bolognese (Lopes Farm beef, gremolata, parm - dinner only) was rich and comforting. My wife loved it. * Steak Tagliata (horseradish crème fraîche, herb verde - dinner only) was cooked perfectly and full of flavor--my dad cleaned his plate. * I had the Funghi white pie with local mushrooms, mozzarella, garlic confit, and parmigiano, and it was outstanding--earthy, balanced, and satisfying. Dessert capped things off nicely, and by the end of the night we were happily full. A special shoutout to Kira, our server--kind, fun, and professional. It was neat finding out she's also a Maui High grad, from a different generation, but with that same local pride and warmth that makes dining in Hawaiʻi special. Big mahalo to the kitchen crew--you can feel the care and teamwork in every dish. Payment was easy using Toast, which we appreciated. All around, Marlow delivers thoughtful food, great cocktails, and genuine hospitality. It's wonderful to have a fun, lively, open-kitchen restaurant in Upcountry Maui. We'll absolutely be back.

Makawao, HI. I really liked this restaurant . We were…read moreseated without a reservation and the place was very busy. All the staff ladies were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This was about 6:00 pm for dinner. The vibe is casual but trendy. A buzz of activity was going on. Everything we tried was just bursting with flavors! We started out with the meatballs which were as good as grandma's, who made the best, of course. I would categorize them as "Memorable Meatballs". The sauce that came with them (2 of them) was perfect in every way. The chopped salad was large enough for three people and was fresh and delicious. The dressing was a great complimentary addition to the greens. The braised pork pizza was over the top good. Just the right amount of char on a sourdough crust and a sauce that was just full of flavor. The Lilikoi butter provided a bright spot on the tomato palate. This I believe, helps make this pizza unique. The prawns were large and you get six. They tasted great , soaked in chimichurri . They would be perfect with just a little less salt and a bit more garlic. Mushrooms in crème fraiche, just outstanding. Note that the emphasis is on the sauce, not the mushrooms. For dessert was the gelato with fennel pollen, honey, olive oil, and sea salt. This is an absolute must to try, it's divine. The Panna cotta is rich and silky, nicely done. There is a decorative crumble on top that adds a little crunch and gives the dish a good presentation. There are some sweet floral notes in the custard, most likely cardamom. The ginger fizz drink is very good with a nice ginger kick without tasting like ginger ale. A well constructed mocktail. The vibe in the morning is about a 180 degree turn about. There is no table service, not busy enough. Order at the counter. The cheerful night time ladies have been replaced by a solitary glum teen who is not happy and maybe don't even like the people she has to deal with in the morning. She is efficient though. Nevertheless, the quiche was great. Great flavor, great crust, interesting top glaze that was different from any I've seen. The latte featured the same topping of fennel pollen, etc. that was on the gelato last night. Pretty amazing version of a latte. My suggestion, to make it perfect, is to order it with an extra shot in a large ceramic cup. The bathroom here is clean and I never encountered a line.

Loved the mushrooms and grilled onions. Fried rice had sabory bits of burnt ends that made this fried rice really good! Super ʻono, peeps! Gotta try! Oatmilk latte had too much milk so the oat milk overpowered the coffee taste. It was okay, but needed the extra shot to get a coffee flavor in there. Take away note: See those packages of cookies on the dessert counter? get it if you see it. Great ambiance!

Here's what I don't like: They use VIP produce and other commercially grown, and flown in ingredients instead of sourcing locally, and their prices are too high to reflect this. The taste absolutely reflects this and if you know the difference, you taste the difference (yuck). Another competitive restaurant upcountry, Marlow, uses exclusively locally grown and sourced produce with exceptional quality, taste and execution, around the same price point. It is a no brainer for me; the taste, quality, and value are superior at later mentioned restaurant. Kula Bistro is over hyped and over priced, but in a pinch, we appreciate the convenience.

We went in the market, and the sweet woman working told us about it, but said the food truck was really good. We went over to the food truck. The staff there was very warm and welcoming as well. IMHO I've been to…read moreMaui countless times over the years, and I've always wanted to visit Kula Lodge located on the slopes of Haleakala. This year, we made it happen. The drive to the restaurant along curvy roads and tall, shady trees was enchanting. I'd heard the views from the restaurant were spectacular, and the unique outdoor canvas-covered "gazebos" added to its charm. Our party of four chose to eat under one of the outdoor gazebos. We ordered four morning cocktails: a Bloody Mary, $12, 2 Maui Mosas, $18, and a Kona Longboard, $9. Our entrees were the Upcountry Quiche, $27, Roasted Kabocha Squash, $28, Mochiko Chicken & Waffles, $30, and the Garlic Prawn Pizza, $30. While we waited for our food, we took the time to wander the beautiful botanical garden grounds and pathways. When our food did arrive, there was only one glitch. Instead of the Garlic Prawn Pizza, we received a different shrimp entree, which looked fantastic...but it wasn't what we ordered. They apologized and went to prepare the pizza. The food was delicious, and portions were big, so we definitely had leftovers. Overall, I am so glad we finally made it to Kula Lodge. Unfortunately, just 3 weeks after our visit, Kula Lodge suffered from a restaurant fire. I am absolutely positive they will re-open again. In the meantime, come support their Kula Marketplace, which is a wonderful gift shop, adjacent to the restaurant, and untouched by the fire. They need your support!!! I will definitely return!
