So I've tried more than 15 different Meal Services and personal chefs. Including almost all the major ones on Yelp. Through direct experience I've had some sort of issue with every single one. That is how I ended up trying Papa's in the Kitchen. I've found that typically most 'healthy' cooking ends up meaning 'taste free'. Which is great if you are trying to lose a ton of weight by not eating - but who wants to do that?! However, this company, Papa's in the Kitchen is the ONLY one that I have found that dose consistent healthy and tasty! Plus, they rotate their dishes so you won't get bored of the food. I'm super picky and I'm sure I'm a pain to deal with, but they seem happy to work with me. Plus, they both honestly care and really enjoy what they are doing. They are also small enough that they can really pay attention to what you receive and ensure it is what you are supposed to get based on your specific dietary restrictions and requests. When there was an issue, they took 100% responsibility and made things right. Whereas I've had other companies point fingers or make excuses. I've waited quite some time to write this review because I wanted to ensure that the service stayed the same. I was happily surprised that the food got BETTER as the Chef gained a better understanding of my exact likes and dislikes. I have been using food delivery services for about three years, and Papa's in the Kitchen is by far the best I've ever used. Companies I've used before, like Crateful, Freshology, and Paleta, pail in comparison. Papa's has the best tasting, most filling, most variety food delivery service I have ever tried, and at this point, I'm a veteran food delivery recipient. Papa's isn't just good delivery food, it beats out most of the restaurants we have been too. If ya wanna know more about the reasons I use Papa's, and recommend them too all my clients (I'm a personal fitness trainer), here's a more in-depth breakdown of why Papa's in the Kitchen is so great! 1. It's not some huge company with a customer service that takes two days to get back to you. It's really like your own personal chef cooking for you. They are very personable and they make adjustments to accommodate your needs. Yeah, the other companies have these flashy websites that can make your ordering easy (if they work), but I have stuck with Papa's because of the personal care. 2. Papa's rarely repeats meals. It's mind boggling how many different, delicious meals they make. After three month they have only repeated a meal once or twice, and even then, it had a variation to it that made it new. The other companies I've been with repeated meals just after two weeks. 3. They don't go all super fancy on you, it's just amazingly good tasting food. I don't need bok choy with every meal, like Crateful gave me. I just want good food, and Papa's always delivers. I don't need edible flower peddles for an extra $10 bucks a meal (Paleta), I just want yummy food. I felt all the other companies throw in all this fancy stuff I don't need, but this isn't to say that Papa's food doesn't look amazing either, as their presentation is the best I have seen. I also like a good hamburger, or fried chicken now and the and they deliver it, and it tastes better then anything I have ever had in a restaurant. And don't think it's not healthy, as they use organic farm fresh ingredients. The chicken is lightly dusted in a non gluten batter. It's comfort food and new stuff I've never tried before, and it's all amazing! 4. Their food is filling! Every company I have used before left me and my wife hungry after every meal. My wife and I kept finding ourselves snacking after our meals because we weren't full - so we actually gained weight on those other plans. Not Papa's! Every meal leaves me full and content. 5. I have only had one or two meals that where eh, but they were still edible. With Crateful and Freshology I would literally throw meals out because they were horrible. When you're paying $20-$25 per meal, this is not good. 6. I've had one slight error in my food illuminations when working with Papa's. If you knew how many food allergy elimination I have, you would understand how amazing it is that there has only been one error. In comparison, I had over 50 mistakes on my meals when I was with Crateful over a 6 month period. Papa's actually caught the error before I even ate the meal and they contacted me. Now that's service! If you're worried about the, "I can't choose my meals" part of these kinds of meal plans, don't. It's actually like Christmas every day. My wife and I open up the bags and all you here is, "Ooo!" "Ohh!" because we are dazzled and surprised by the yumminess that is in the bag. It makes it fun, plus, there's no decision making involved. Aren't you sick of wondering, "What do I want to eat tonight?" Now try figuring that out for the whole week. Ya see, let Papa's handle it, you'll thank me for it. That's my speel. I know I may sound like a salesman but it's only because I really like this company and I hope they do well because it's been a challenge finding a good food delivery service. Honestly, you don't even have to think about what you're eating or how to cook it, they plan and prepare ALL of your meals for the same price that I spend at the grocery store anyway. You fill out a quick food questionnaire (takes two minutes) and they'll accommodate any food restrictions (I'm on the dairy-free, gluten-free bandwagon) you require and they'll blow you out of the water with how good they can make healthy food taste. How it works is they deliver a cooler to your front door with your fresh (and delicious) food for the day, then you just set your old cooler out for them the next day and they swap it with the next days food. HOW EASY IS THAT? This is my first review, I just had to write it because of their outstanding service and meal selection. I feel like I never eat the same thing twice and I've been with them for several months now. They're always checking in to see how you're liking the food and how it's going, AND they don't charge you for any meal you don't like (I've never not liked a meal, but still nice of them). I just love them, love their food, and love not having to think and stress out about how to eat healthy all week.
