Never had Venezuelan food and man have I been missing out. It was so delicious and the lady working was extremely kind , helpful and genuine. Everything tasted so fresh and homemade. Even the sauces! The place was clean , cute and I liked the house music they were playing. I'll definitely be back

I was visiting my friend in Long Beach from NorCal and she said I had to try this place since she loves it and goes often! We got the tequenos, potato balls, arepa, pabellon burrito, and chicha and it was AMAZING. The pabellon burrito was huge and I loved the plantains in the arepa. I've never had Venezuelan food before but this is something I would be coming back for. The flavors were bold, and the different sauces made it even better. Every time I visit my friend, I'm going to make sure she takes me here!

Oh my days this place is so bomb!! I was craving Venezuelan food badly and I luckily found this place in my city. I ordered a pabellon arepa, tequeños, and a chicha. I absolutely devoured them before I could take a photo lol but I have some newer photos of the menu. 10000% coming back :,)

I just tried this bakery for my first time today and WOW! Everything is made so fresh. I ordered the cachapa, pastellito, and empanada. The crust on all 3 were so sweet and flaky; the meat in the center was tender and flavorful. This was the best place I've ate at all year and can't wait to come back

Good service. The lady helping me was friendly and welcoming. I went mainly for the chicken balls, but unfortunately they weren't available. So I ordered the chicken empanada and beef ball for my hubby. Chicken empanada was warm and savory, and those sauces were amazing. Although I did take it to go, it was clean and spacious inside.

The food is always great. Always made to order. The service within the restaurant is always friendly and nice I have no complaints whatsoever. The ambiance feel like home from the music being played and the food I highly recommend this place!

Came in for arepas and got the empanada pabellón with scrambled eggs on the side. It was very delicious. Got coffee and it was great. My daughter got the Venezuelan sampler and all of the items were so tasty. My wife got a arepa with eggs and cheese. Would definitely come back again.

A great alternative to Porto's!…read more I bought a wide variety of empanadas here, including the breakfast and burrito flavors, and they were all incredibly savory and delicious. You have the option to buy them frozen to save for later, but they honestly taste best when you eat them fresh right at the bakery. A quick tip if you order online: Make sure to go straight to the front and let one of the many employees know you are there for a pickup. They only call out names for in-person orders, so you'll be waiting a while if you don't speak up! I also tried their new seasonal sandwich--the pulled pork melt and the very popular nonseasonal sandwich crispy chicken sandwich. Both were very filling and packed with flavor. Just make sure to eat these fresh, as they will likely get soggy if you try to save them for later. They have a great selection of desserts and coffee drinks that I didn't have room for this time, but I'll definitely be saving those for my next trip to Long Beach. If you're looking to try something a little different from the usual spots like Porto's, I highly recommend checking this place out. I will definitely be returning to try more flavors!

Parking - Free in a shared large parking lot, plentiful We were both intrigued by their potato balls, empanadas, and breakfast burrito in which we ordered 4 potato balls (2 chicken/2 beef), 2 empanadas (1 chicken, 1 beef), and 1 breakfast burrito to share. Our order came out in about 10 minutes or so, not too busy. Total came out to about $42 which is quite expensive for the amount of items in my opinion. 1. Potato Balls - By far my favorite menu items from the visit, they weren't as crispy/crunchy as Portos but they're bigger. Portions are big and it's filled with your choice of filling, very delicious, highly recommend 9/10 2. Empanadas - Usually I love empanadas but these were a bit disappointing on my end. They were softer than empanadas that I usually have, although delicious still but definitely not my favorite from the bakery. 6.5/10 3. Breakfast Burrito - Talk about portions, this breakfast burrito is loaded with ingredients, eggs among many other ingredients, super flavorful and savory. It does have a bit of a kick to it which adds to the taste, pretty good! 8.5/10 Overall, a solid brunch spot, although a bit expensive, it's still worth to check them out. Pretty decent tasting potato balls, breakfast burrito is big in portion and delicious as well, along with their empanadas which can be a hit or miss depending on the style of empanadas you like. Definitely a good spot for a snack even if you're in the area.

To me, shredded chicken has a tendency to have a rubbery texture and I'm happy to report that isn't the case with the Red Queen! Full of flavor and extra delicious paired with the Arepa Stand's hot sauce. It's difficult to choose a favorite between the two arepas I ordered, but I'm leaning my preference towards The 405 simply because I believe every dish with platanos and black beans is perfect. Obviously this was delicious and I can't wait to have it again! I will note that this is a very messy meal! Be prepared for a lot of spillage, but just know it's worth it. I can only speak about my dish as I didn't have a taste of the other meal. I had the El Vainero (sweet corn pancake with Mano cheese, shredded beef, black beans and plantains). The flavors were so amazing together. You will just have to try it. I also ordered yuca fries. The three types of "sauces" were mild, medium, and hot. All three were tasty in their own way and I enjoyed all of them with the yuca fries and towards the end of my meal, it added a little kick to my dish. As for beverages, we had water and I ordered the hot chocolate. I know, hot chocolate, but it was so good. I love an authentic cup of hot chocolate with a bit of real whip cream and some cinnamon. In all, our experience at Encuentro Cafe was great from the service to the food. It is very intimate and we ate in the covered patio. It was as it would be eating outside with tropical decor. Not crowded and noise level as it would be eating in an enclosed patio, not too noisy with the sounds of Old Town patrons walking/driving down the street.
