Me and my husband always come here if we want to eat outside, but not spend much. They have decent meals that can fill you up which makes the money you spend here worth. A server here named Richard is pretty goofy. Sometimes we get him as a server and sometimes not but he brings good vibes to this restaurant. The other servers we've had have been great too though. We never really had a bad server yet. I'm not too sure why this place gets bad reviews when they're not supposed to be a high tier formal restaurant in the first place; they're more of a casual cozy experience. Very disappointed double charged at norms. Every one that visited this location an a few others got double charged from Jan-2-20 to Jan-3-20. So if you visited this restaurants on dose 2 days and paid with a credit card please check your bank accounts to make sure you get your funds back or resolve something. I've been to this location a few times and knew it was bad but didn't think it was going to be as bad as today. Went in for breakfast around 9:30 am on a Tuesday. We ordered an apple juice and they didn't have any!? So we ordered a raspberry iced tea and it tasted watered down. We also ordered a hot chocolate and they had no whipped cream! Was disappointed because I ordered a waffle and I always get it with whipped cream on top. I also ordered another hot chocolate and it tasted VERY watered down I took one sip and put it aside. I don't understand how a restaurant like this can run out of stuff so early in the morning especially on a weekday. Absolutely horrible! I will not be returning to this location again! read more

I was so hoping this Norm's would be the same quality as the others but was saddened as it was not. Got the Chicken Fried Steak and Mashed Potatoes. Mediocre at best. Rolls were microwaved just a bit too long and hardened. Coffee and salad were very fresh. No shakes, no hot fudge, hummmm. I will give props for the service, they did take care of my needs. Love the new restaurant and decor, classic with a millennial vibe...very cool. You can't beat the price or the quality. Never a disappoint for us. In this world..nobody is perfect...but it's how you handle the situation...and how you treat others...that matters..... This is a great location, lots of parking, roomy inside (wheelchair friendly), good menu choices, great tasting food....operates smoothly on busy holidays. I would recommend this place, the wait time on a busy holiday maybe around 30 minutes. I like the flooring (no carpet) so you know it gets cleaned daily, lol. Nice bright layout, very open space as I walked into the restaurant. There's good service with the wait-staff/bussers. I noticed the prompt removal of dishes on empty tables allowing for a new group to sit and enjoy. The delivery of food to table service was made within a timely manner. Because it was such a busy day it was a good experience a nice bite to eat with a full house. It's a casual dining restaurant, a good place to eat for the entire family and friends. Ideal for dining when you want American food, there's plenty of stores to do some shopping when your done. I do recommend this location. read more

The worst! We ordered 2 breakfasts, basic bacon & eggs...coffee and a diet Coke. Bill came out to $34.00. One person took the order, 2nd guy brought my plate then we had to wait about 8 minutes for his plate. I was not going to start eating without him, so I waited. Breakfast got cold. They forgot his tortillas.(likes to eat with over easy eggs). 5 minutes into the meal...we ask for hot sauce, a coffee refill and the tortillas. The guy says, "they're coming". The first lady comes back and said, "don't be in such a rush for the tortillas". EXCUSE ME? We weren't assholes, we left a couple of bucks on the counter. Ordered a country steak and eggs with pancakes which was excellent and as expected. Ordered a side order of hash browns which were good and a side order of biscuits and gravy which were missing the FIRST time I went to pick up my food. I went back to get the biscuits and gravy which they handed over to me without question. When I stepped outside i figured I'd look at the order one last time and saw that the gravy on the biscuits looked funny. I opened it up to taste the gravy which I automatically spit out because it tasted and smelled horrible. I went in to let the person in the front know and he kindly took it back and tried to get me another order. As I saw him go to the back to speak to the chef, the chef grabbed the exact same order that the front person had, went on to put more of the exact same sauce on that same order and gave it back to the front person to give to me. As he handed it over I asked the front person if the chef really just added more of that stuff and called it fixed? He said yes. The chef said that is their country gravy. I went ahead took out my country fried steak and eggs and showed him the difference in the sauce. The steak had a nice white creamy gravy, the biscuits had a translucent sauce that looked like grits. He saw it and went to the back, where he met with the manager in charge. She grabbed the biscuits and came to me and said "sir, this is the country gravy, we do not substitute the sauces" I showed her my steak and showed her the difference. She went on to say again that THAT was the county gravy but it was a fresh batch and it had to sit before it turned creamy. I asked if she was sure because it tasted bad, and she said yes because they don't use another sauce. I took it home figuring i would let it sit. My pregnant wife looked at it, smelled and tasted it and went on to throw up because of how bad it was. I am sitting here after eating everything but the biscuits and gravy typing to you guys and the gravy still looks and smells just as bad as it did when I first received it and it's been "sitting" and "resting" for over 45 minutes. Our server Jose we sat over by the bar area in a booth, was over within 10 minutes of us sitting down, he was amazing quick everything came out in a timely fashion he checked in with us enough he was a perfect 5 stars. I deduced two star because the food was luke warm. It wasn't cold but it wasn't hot. It felt as though it had been seating for a while, we both tried the steak and eggs. My boyfriend and I came in to eat breakfast on Sunday morning. Knowing to expect the Sunday traffic. But this place really has horrible service. My order took forever. I ordered a steak and chicken tenders with a side of fries. One the fries never came. Two the steak was disgusting. It tastes like a dirty burnt grill. I've always order my steak the same. The lady at the cashier register told Me next time order on a flat grill. No because I've never had to do that my steak always tasted good. BEWARE I didn't want to leave a bad review, but here we are. The Cons: Bad service, careless employees, & etc. The Pros: Norms has good pancakes. That's it! This(Carson)Location has the worst service ever! Incident #1: I once ordered three separate pancake breakfast orders to-go. When I got home, I realized that the third order was a plate full of hash browns only. When I called the restaurant to discuss the mix up, they made it seem like I placed the order incorrectly. I had to speak to the manager and she gave me a complimentary meal because I refused to drive all the way back up there. Incident#2 More recently I went in after the lunch rush hour ended. While I stood at the hostess/cashier counter, one young lady had her back towards the door and was leaning up against a cash register. The second girl was chatting and putting money in the register. They both totally ignored me. I eventually had to ask them if I could be seated . The girl counting the money told me to hold on. I stood there looking at them continue their conversation, and finally, she nonchalantly did a lap around the restaurant and didn't return. After awhile, I asked the other girl who was relaxing against the register if there was an available table. She walked off to find her buddy as I stood there irritated. The first girl appeared and told me that all the tables were dirty and that she needed to find someone to clean them. I told her I'd just sit at the bar/counter, and she said that she'd get me a table soon. Once I was seated, it took at least 5 minutes for my server to appear. I already knew what I wanted and I ordered a waffle meal. To make an already super long story short, I bit into my waffle and immediately spit it back up. I waived down the server and told her that something was wrong with the waffle. It turns out that one of the cooks made my waffle with fish batter, Egh! I was livid! The managers response was " it was a human common error." Can you believe that she didn't even comp my meal? Omg! If I were allergic, that "common human error" could have been far worse for me. This place is a disaster! There's virtually no waiting area...if you've ever been to a Norms in your life then you know the place always gets packed. They have very very limited seating to wait so people just overflow all over the place and even sit on the long straight booths where people are eating. Rude. Also, while we waited a panhandler came in asking people for cash INSIDE. He walked table to table even sitting next to people eating while ask for money. That's ridiculous!!! We were finally seated in a back corner next to another family with screaming kids that were throwing bacon all over the floor at our feet. I have a 9yo that sat with his jaw on the table watching the shenanigans in here. This is when I decided to write a yelp review and saw the one about ROACHES from only 3 days ago!! I like coming to Norms for a good breakfast that is reasonably priced and of good quality. The service has always been pretty good for us when we dine here and breakfast never takes too long before it's put at the table. The French toast is but I also just enjoy getting your typical breakfast plate here. Sometimes it can get a bit crowded but that's expected when having breakfast on the weekends. I've been a patron of Norms for many years. I was happy when one opened near our home. The first time we came in we were not impressed with the food or the service, we blamed the inexperienced staff and decided to try again at a later time. The second time we came in the whole restaurant smelled like sewage, from the parking lot all the way inside it smelled horrible, they tried to cover it up with fragrance sprays but it just made it worse. Needless to say the smell ruined our meal, I decided not to order at all and my wife took two bites of her food and packed up the rest. Today we decided to go again since our kids wanted to try Norms for breakfast. We had our meals without incident but when the bill came they had raised the price of one of our plates and added an additional surcharge to the total. When we asked about the surcharge we were told "that's how we can keep our prices low" which is an oxymoron if ever I heard one. Sorry to say I've lost faith in my old pal Norm!! Stay away, there is a Denny's across the street that has always had solid service. read more
