This Norm's is so bad, go across the street and eat at Denny's. The food we just picked up was as cold as ice after waiting 30 minutes to have someone bring it to us. Let alone when we got back home all the food order wasn't even completed, missing all the pancake orders. This Norm's on Avalon needs overhauled bad, from the attitude of the employees to the shift managers for allowing such poor customer. Tried take out again. What is the problem with this location? When you eat in they do a very good job, mainly because you keep asking for what you need. Norm's franchisees have always had very good food. Went here for breakfast on a Sunday. Greeted and seated. Ordered a porterhouse steak along with a meat loaf lunch special. Waited a good 15 mins before our food was served. Sipped on some soda and coffee prior. Our food arrived, I could not emphasize how big the steak was. Cooked accordingly to a TEE! The steak was delicious and the meatloaf was fresh! All was good. The ambiance was good. It gets very busy on the weekend. I suggest sitting at the counter for self serve, for faster service. Overall, I would recommend this place. Also used my Valentines day discount. Buy a full size meal, get another free. It worked out well. No complaints. read more

This location was newest and we have there a few times. The service has been good to almost bad, the food ca be hit or miss from hot, to warm or some portion is cold, like it's been sitting on the counter. Also seems there short staffed, maybe one the reason. The was really busy when first open, seems to have died down. Prices also increased, could have a effect. read more

This was my first time at a norms and it was just fine! The servers and the hostess were super nice and friendly and everyone seemed to get along which was nice. I think overall I do prefer dennys maybe because I grew up with it but this was also perfectly fine. Chocolate chip pancakes saved the day and made it so worth it! It's been a long time since I visited a Norms. The only reason it came up a few weeks prior is because they offered prepped Thanksgiving meals. We took that route for that holiday, and with the meal came two $15 coupons for use on a future visit. A couple of weeks later, Mom, Hubbers and I decided to put them go good use. We anticipated a wait given it was a Saturday. It wasn't too bad, though, since groups were leaving every few minutes. We were seated in less than 10 minutes. It's different from the old Norms I used to go to, The architecture is more modern and I liked the high ceilings. But they kept counter seating, which is reminiscent of the old style. I already knew what I wanted. Hubbers wanted the same. Mom went for the steak and eggs. CHICKEN FRIED STEAK AND EGGS: My go-to on a first run at any establishment if it's on the menu, and I always get the gravy on the side. The breading was light and crispy. The steak was tender and juicy. All of them seasoned well. I opted for fruit for a side which was fresh! Sourdough was toasted with butter. I enjoyed this meal (see picture as proof!) I got to try Mom's steak (she requested it cooked medium.) That, too, was delish. FOOD: 5. We liked everything! SERVICE: 4. It was clear they were understaffed, so our servers (Ynomee and Genesis) were pulled in many directions. They owned it, though, so kudos to them! VALUE: 5. First off, Norms is always the place to go when you want a no-nonsense meal and straight forward options. My mother and I went to this location at about 12:00 p.m. and we were served by Lourdes who was very sweet and very patient and was willing to answer all of the questions we had and provided great customer service. The only reason why I'm knocking off a star for today's visit is because my mother ordered a t-bone steak breakfast and ordered it medium well but unfortunately there was still quite a bit of pink that was present so it did make the meal tough to eat. However, we took it home and threw it on the skillet and it was good to go. So just be mindful of ordering what you want, and making sure it's up to par. Oh and FYI, there's no senior menu which is unfortunate. read more

We came in as a family with two very demanding kids (and let's be honest--hungry adults too ), and Bertha handled everything with so much patience, kindness, and professionalism. She was attentive without rushing us, incredibly sweet with our kids, and made sure my husband and I felt taken care of the entire time. I was near this location and needed to wait for a couple of hours so I stopped for a late breakfast. The Bigger Better Breakfast was enough for me to eat and take half home. The hostess addressed me right away and my waitress was awesome. At one point we all laughed when two people approached me at the same time to refill my coffee cup. I didn't get what I ordered, but I wasn't going to send it back, because I was hungry; it was close enough to what I asked for. We didn't get any drink refills. Food was good. Noise level was pretty loud, as there are many hard surfaces for noise to bounce around. I think I'd go to the Denny's around the corner instead. read more

Our server Alexa " shift leader" , supposedly the best one , missing for a good amount of time , then comes out mad like if I ain't mad waiting on my food. I've seen other customers get their food ,eat and leave while I'm still waiting for my drink , I see my food on the counter and still seen a family of 8 get their food first and still get an attitude for waiting for my food , then I've seen all the employees hanging on the side while the food is getting cold , and cooks show no sense of urgency because all the food is on the counter top , and no manager to be seen around to show any type of order , very unprofessional , the only guy I saw working and killing it was the bus boy He handles those tables and dishes like a pro, 5 stars for the bus boy CELSO!! The menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner selections. For those that love coffee the offers refills. I haven't been here in years and this is a new location. The vanilla milkshake tasted like it was straight from a paper bag... I should've gotten the strawberry lemonade! The service is decent. The party of 6 that came after us got all their food before me and my other person:/ I'll give it to Norms that they keep they're restaurant. Sunday morning party of 2 We landed after 8am right before the rush. Seated and orders placed from the anniversary menu. Server was helpful, breakfast was lovely. Don't know why regular coffee needs to be $3.99 though. Partner ordered the bigger better breakfast, I opted for the four deuces. I saw they had a turkey version of the bigger better breakfast but turkey bacon offends my spirit. Turkey sausage is good but that strip of whatever doesn't deserve to be called bacon.
