Waiting for a table to be available is a long wait. You know it's a long wait when people ask at the counter if their name is going to be called. It's a small place for you to wait too, it feels pretty crowded. I really enjoyed we were seated at a table meant for 6-8 people. So much space for all your plates. Our server was nice, she kept refilling coffee mugs and bringing extra napkins. There is only thing for her to improve on and that's simply to be aware of how she serves the food at the table. The food overall in my opinion was not as good as I expected. For starters the hot chocolate tasted more like water. I barely tasted any chocolate and neither was it really hot. The hash browns were a tiny bit burnt. This doesn't mean the food overall isn't good, it's good and you should go for some food sometime, I just thought it would taste really good. read more

Today I went in looking forward for some breakfast . Once I went in there was no host to bring anyone in. The service was non existent. The executive manager, Mike, was extremely reassuring that my order would be found. When my order was located and packaged up, he assisted me to the lobby to wait for my transportation to arrive. When Dial A Ride arrived, he assisted me to the taxi. He kept an eye out for the taxi. He assisted me by handing me my seat belt, and He explained where he put my coffee. I've only been here for breakfast. But what a breakfast it was. Their pancakes are fabulous. It beats another spot that's famous for their pancakes. By by any means. They're omelettes to me are filling and fluffy and flavorful. The service was outstanding. And it wasn't too noisy. The coffee is even good. And the hashbrowns were actually good. I love norms and I live quite near it. I always look for an excuse to go back. Definitely a good place to bring the family for a nice breakfast. I don't know how the food was, I never received it. I met 2 friends and they were already drinking coffee. I sat down and 20 mins later no one had come to the table. My friends noticed our waitress having her breakfast. We finally got someone's attention who brought me coffee and took our order. 20 mins later still no food, no one had even come to the table to refill our coffee or apologize for lack of service. I've noticed that some of the employees seem a bit distracted, which is making it difficult for customers to get the help they need. It's also a bit puzzling why there's a designated area for customers to check out when it comes to orders places "to-go", but it's never being used. This means that customers have to stand in line at the front of the store, which can be quite crowded. Once they're in line, they have to wait for their order to be prepared, which can add to the overall wait time. I recently got out of line because I was tired of waiting just to place an order. I think the store could do a better job of utilizing their organizational skills to make the checkout process smoother for customers. read more

To start with, if you want to be seated for 4 or more. You have to wait for all party's to be there. Even when the restaurant is not busy and tables are empty . I ordered my food the same time, my friends did. Mine came after my friends were almost done. I told her to make it to go. I came to eat with my friends not alone. She couldn't even clear the used plates off the tables to make more room. Had to ask for coffee. Was lucky to get two cups. I could hear her interactions with the in-store customers and determined that the location was busy. When I arrived at the Carson location I informed the young lady that I was still on hold and had been on hold for almost 22 minutes (21 minutes and 52 seconds) trying to make an order. She simply said, may I take your order. I thought it odd that there was no apology. An apology goes a long way. I am still waiting on my order that I paid for at 1:55 pm and it is now 2:32 and still not ready. Food came out at 2:35pm and was cold. Apparently it had been sitting for a while. This is my first time at this location. I came in wanting a New York steak, baked potato with vegetables which I thought was going to get string beans but they did not have string beans. They had squash. I asked if the vegetables were steamed the waitress said no. I asked well how are they? She said they are sautéed. I said good. I said do they come with a lot of oil? She said no. But when I finally received the meal, the steak looked not too good, but I was willing to eat it because I was hungry then I noticed that the vegetables were very early. I asked the waitress about the vegetables she said no we don't have any. I said can I have something else cause it has a lot of oil. She said the only thing I could give you tomatoes. I don't eat tomatoes like that. I said can I have a salad she said no so I said well then I don't want the plate anymore. She said oh OK. Well, you want me just take this off the check. Shook my head and then proceeded to say you could take it off. My party had their meal. We asked for fries instead of hashbrowns. It came with hashbrowns and not the fries. The fries came after asking for them. Fries they were cold they, as if, been sitting for a while. I'm not sure if this is any other peoples experiences. But this was my experience. I literally sat and watched the other party eat their food. And I had none. This is a very bad customer service experience. I have been in a Norm's in a few years and should not have had this level of service. Why couldn't I have a salad? I don't eat oil vegetables. Even with the baked potatoe I'd would have eaten I don't use much butter. I have this a 2 star rating for the other party. They enjoyed their hotcakes meal. read more

This restaurant in the city of Carson, California is fairly new, it opened near the beginning of 2019 There are lots of tables and booths to sit at and lots of counter seating as well. I have had the eggs and pancakes here with bacon and hash browns , the buttermilk pancakes are fluffy. The place is clean and the staff is always friendly and professional.
