Pretty good breakfast joint. I only went once after a doctor appointment I had to go to in that area. My parents joined me and shared a plate. I ordered their veggie omelet, light on the cheese. It was pretty good. The vibe of the place reminds me of going to Hofs Hut (I hope it's OK to say that). The coffee could've been a bit stronger, but I really liked it. Service was good. The restaurant really appeals to families/ groups in my opinion, with lots of options to choose from and meals for all hours of the day like any classic diner. Not sure I'll go back since it's not in my area, but if I was around there and hungry, sure, why not? I will say that I really also enjoyed the hash browns. They are perfectly cooked with a crispy excision l exterior without the inside being greasy or soggy. Great job on that!

It's always nice to have a go to coffee shop in your neighborhood. Hot N Tot is a bustling local coffee shop that is great for breakfast. They also serve dinner but I pretty much go there in the morning. You'll usually have a wait for a table but there is counter seating as well. Service is friendly and prompt. Standard breakfasts are solid. Bacon and eggs plus choice of potatoes (I prefer hash brown style) and toast. I have also sampled the hash since I'm a big hash fan. Roast beef hash was compacted into a patty--good flavor but the texture wasn't for me. They also have multiple healthy options such as turkey and spinach egg white scrambles with fruit. Several Mexican style breakfasts are are also available, I have tried the oatmeal as well which was generous and filling. Side note: house made salsa is available and is a nice breakfast complement. I guess you could say I'm a regular here.

Awesome experience! We are from out of town. Great service shout out to Lorraine! We appreciate you. Team members great too sorry I missed out on their names. Coffee was very good. I ordered spinach omelette. So tasty ! The homemade salsa was delicious I had to ask for " seconds" Hashbrowns homemade too. We will return soon!

I've been dining here for many years, even after moving more than 30 minutes away. I've come mostly for breakfast and highly recommend. This is a no frills, home style coffee shop that serves all the comfort foods. For breakfast I like their omelets, scrambles, and pancakes. I haven't had many lunch items here but I have had their patty melt which was good. They used to have a very yummy broasted chicken but that was when they were open for dinner. I'm not sure if it's available for lunch. Service here is always really fast, friendly, and efficient. I appreciate that they have had many of the same servers and bussers from when I first started coming. They are very much family to this restaurant. The restaurant itself is not fancy but it's cozy and clean, and it has fun vintage Lomita pics on the walls. This is truly a local comfort place.

Service was good and the food was good! The coffee was also great and I'm use to diner coffees being a bit burnt.

The Hot n Tot is a local coffee shop that is open for breakfast and lunch closing at 3 pm. It's been around for decades. Service is always excellent and so is the basic "comfort food." Portions are large so many things can be shared if you do chose. Parking is easy in their lot.

My sister wanted to come here cuz she said there's usually a huge line but it was a weekday so we went when it wasn't packed. The waitress was very nice and everyone who we talked to were completely nice. The food was so mediocre I was surprised. The prices were great but the hash browns were not crispy or seasoned at all. The carne asada was chewy and seasoned a little. The eggs were a bit under and not seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised by the salsa though, very flavorful and a little spicy. All in all I don't get the big lines.

This place is packed on weekends especially for breakfast. We came for breakfast and managed to get there before the crowds started. I love their waffles and they have a great senior special with half waffle, egg and protein. Hubby got scrambled eggs with onions. We were served quickly and staff is attentive. The place has a small town vibe and many of the customers know the staff. My waffle was perfect. Hubby was happy with his meal too.

    Great, local Farmer Brothers coffee!!!

Great old school vibe! Service is always friendly & efficient. Food is great. My go-to is the chile verde omelette. Coffee is great. It's from long-time local roasters, Farmers Brothers served in classic Hot 'N' Tot mugs!

Est. 1946- Old school, classic 'greasy spoon' diner. Even though Hot 'N' Tot has been remodeled over the years, it still has that classic feel, complete with a 12 seat counter, green leather stools, ceiling fans and brown booths. I came in for some coffee and a quick bite. I ordered the Gobbler Omelet, with turkey, bacon tomato and avocado, served with home fries and toast. It was very tasty and the coffee was good, but the star of the meal was the home-made salsa. Holy smoke that stuff is good. I wish I could buy a jar of it to take home. The service was also friendly and they have a lot of regulars here. I felt a good neighborhood vibe. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular. Good food and good vibes being served up at Hot N Tot.

Old coffee shop with a cool vibe. Service was very friendly. Great portions and very tasty. Will definitely go back. Looking at other people's food and it looked amazing

Visited here recently for the first time and my wife and I had a nice breakfast. Since I don't particularly like eggs I had the Corned Beef, hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. The place was packed with a wait to get in but the service was still friendly and quick. Definitely has the old time feel inside without going overboard. Overall food was good, staff really nice and a fine place for breakfast

Stopped in for the famous chicken fried steak and a breakfast burrito. The chicken fried steak was great and the burrito was just average. The place has a cool old time dinner feel. The service was fine and the food came out quickly and was hot. The prices were on the high side, but not that bad. I would come back if I was in the area, but would not drive from Orange County again to eat here.

The chicken was all cut up not a whole chicken breast which I should have seen as a red flag. But I tried to enjoy it, thinking positive and enjoy my night. I finished the beer and ordered a small beer but I started feeling really dizzy during this time. And not from drinking. If you've ever been roofied you know this exact feeling. Things are moving slower. You're spinning. You don't have full control. And you could pass out at any second. Thankfully I got home but it continued in a shower I took to try and wake up, but that didn't work. On my sofa I passed out. And woke up the next day still not feeling good. Still needing to lay down and needing more sleep. Another night passed where I slept early. Like I was knocked out. And today, Friday I finally felt like it was all out of my system. And this all happened because I went to Slip. This is not a fluke. It was not an accident. It happened to me and it can happen to you too. It can happen anywhere maybe, or maybe not. But what's for sure is it happened to me there. If you're with Slip and you're reading this, do not try and make me an offer to return. I won't. Ever.
