I don't know what is better, the service or the food? Both are great, every visit, every meal, every employee. If you're looking for a comfortable coffee shop that serves plenty of kindness, hospitality and delicious food, Hot N Tot is that place.
Another place I had been wanting to go to since forever. It's been around a long time, and has a good reputation. In other words, my kinda place. I'm still on my quest for the ultimate tuna melt, so decided to give theirs a try. It was delicious; the tuna mix was likely the tastiest I've found in my travels so far. A choice of sides came with it; I chose a decent-sized salad. Took at peak at what other diners were having, and everything I saw looked really good. Place was busy, which is always a good sign. I got there around little after noon, and only had a five minute wait myself. (Apparently, they were open late once upon a time, but important to keep in-mind they close at 3p these days.) My server was helpful, friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was everything I'd want in a diner. A great choice when one is remotely in the area!

The owner was walking around and talking to the usuals. I ordered eggs Benedict with hash browns and I added biscuits with gravy. The hash browns were so good! The eggs were perfect. This place has been around since the 40s and yknow they're doing something right. Also they have a bulgogi house special that I'll be trying next time I stop by.
It's always nice to have a go to coffee shop in your neighborhood. Hot N Tot is a bustling local coffee shop that is great for breakfast. They also serve dinner but I pretty much go there in the morning. You'll usually have a wait for a table but there is counter seating as well. Service is friendly and prompt. Standard breakfasts are solid. Bacon and eggs plus choice of potatoes (I prefer hash brown style) and toast. I have also sampled the hash since I'm a big hash fan. Roast beef hash was compacted into a patty--good flavor but the texture wasn't for me. They also have multiple healthy options such as turkey and spinach egg white scrambles with fruit. Several Mexican style breakfasts are are also available, I have tried the oatmeal as well which was generous and filling. Side note: house made salsa is available and is a nice breakfast complement. I guess you could say I'm a regular here.

This is a no frills, home style coffee shop that serves all the comfort foods. For breakfast I like their omelets, scrambles, and pancakes. I haven't had many lunch items here but I have had their patty melt which was good. They used to have a very yummy broasted chicken but that was when they were open for dinner. I'm not sure if it's available for lunch. Service here is always really fast, friendly, and efficient. I appreciate that they have had many of the same servers and bussers from when I first started coming. They are very much family to this restaurant. The restaurant itself is not fancy but it's cozy and clean, and it has fun vintage Lomita pics on the walls. This is truly a local comfort place.
Hadn't come to this place in a while, nostalgic place has been around since before my childhood. Had a great experience. The ambience was very family and old-school diner. The food was cooked as would be expected from an old-school diner. We both had T-bone steak with eggs, potatoes, and toast. The meat was tasty and had a nice Chew to it. The home fries were incredible. Great flavor. Everything was cooked extremely well and seasoned properly. And the service was excellent. They refilled my drink even an empty. The people were very friendly and we were able to get a seat right away at 2 PM for a late brunch. This place is a keeper will definitely be coming back.
Pretty good breakfast joint. I only went once after a doctor appointment I had to go to in that area. My parents joined me and shared a plate. I ordered their veggie omelet, light on the cheese. It was pretty good. The vibe of the place reminds me of going to Hofs Hut (I hope it's OK to say that). The coffee could've been a bit stronger, but I really liked it. Service was good. The restaurant really appeals to families/ groups in my opinion, with lots of options to choose from and meals for all hours of the day like any classic diner. Not sure I'll go back since it's not in my area, but if I was around there and hungry, sure, why not? I will say that I really also enjoyed the hash browns. They are perfectly cooked with a crispy excision l exterior without the inside being greasy or soggy. Great job on that!
Stopped in for the famous chicken fried steak and a breakfast burrito. The chicken fried steak was great and the burrito was just average. The place has a cool old time dinner feel. The service was fine and the food came out quickly and was hot. The prices were on the high side, but not that bad. I would come back if I was in the area, but would not drive from Orange County again to eat here.

The Hot n Tot is a local coffee shop that is open for breakfast and lunch closing at 3 pm. It's been around for decades. Service is always excellent and so is the basic "comfort food." Portions are large so many things can be shared if you do chose. Parking is easy in their lot.
My sister wanted to come here cuz she said there's usually a huge line but it was a weekday so we went when it wasn't packed. The waitress was very nice and everyone who we talked to were completely nice. The food was so mediocre I was surprised. The prices were great but the hash browns were not crispy or seasoned at all. The carne asada was chewy and seasoned a little. The eggs were a bit under and not seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised by the salsa though, very flavorful and a little spicy. All in all I don't get the big lines.

What a cute classic diner feel!!! Of course I had to bring my geriatric ahhhh father here, I knew it would be up his alley. We sat ourselves & sat at a booth by the entrance. They also have bar counter style seating as well. He ordered an omelet while I ordered their French toast combo. Something classic. I haven't had French toast in quite some time. The waitress was very sweet, and made sure we had everything that we needed. She kept my dad's coffee cup full and he LOVES their coffee. My dad is so picky, so I was happy to hear he actually enjoyed the food and coffee from this spot. The portions are generous, we had some leftovers to take home. Quality was pretty good as well. Nothing felt like it was fake or something idk. I guess there's a driveway for an entrance and exit they're separate apparently because I was "exiting" through the entrance. The menu is pretty big so I'm sure there's something for everyone to enjoy. read more

This place is packed on weekends especially for breakfast. We came for breakfast and managed to get there before the crowds started. I love their waffles and they have a great senior special with half waffle,egg and protein. Hubby got scrambled eggs with onions. We were served quickly and staff is attentive. The place has a small town vibe and many of the customers know the staff. My waffle was perfect. Hubby was happy with his meal too. read more

I have decided to bring my friend to try out this breakfast spot !! Always kind service here which my boyfriend and I enjoy ! On a Wednesday morning not as busy , this is the perfect spot to come and dine in and definitely try the deliciousness of their amazing menu thank you again will be returning !!! Est. 1946- Old school, classic 'greasy spoon' diner. Even though Hot 'N' Tot has been remodeled over the years, it still has that classic feel, complete with a 12 seat counter, green leather stools, ceiling fans and brown booths. I came in for some coffee and a quick bite. I ordered the Gobbler Omelet, with turkey, bacon tomato and avocado, served with home fries and toast. It was very tasty and the coffee was good, but the star of the meal was the home-made salsa. Holy smoke that stuff is good. I wish I could buy a jar of it to take home. The service was also friendly and they have a lot of regulars here. I felt a good neighborhood vibe. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular. Visited here recently for the first time and my wife and I had a nice breakfast. Since I don't particularly like eggs I had the Corned Beef, hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. The place was packed with a wait to get in but the service was still friendly and quick. Definitely has the old time feel inside without going overboard. LOVE THIS LOCAL BREAKFAST JOINT. I crave the barnyard omelette from time to time. It tastes like a breakfast pot pie. The hash browns are always crispy on the outside and they have tons of options for whatever you're feeling that day. It's never too hard to get a table here, at least in my experience. And it's pretty affordable based on their serving sizes. They have a big parking lot in the back and there's a plaza less than a mile from this place with shopping / entertainment to walk off the food. read more

This place has been here FOREVER. It's a great mom and pop type diner that my wife and I haven't been to in quite some time. But I'm happy to say it's still got great service (the waitress who helped us today was super friendly) and excellent food. If you're a hash brown fan, you can't skip on these. I got the Belgian waffle combo and it was solid. Good food portion too. Worth noting - we came at 8:20ish in the morning and there was no wait, although plenty of people seated/ eating inside already. Around 9:30 it was definitely busier where people were waiting in the front. All in all, if you're looking for a good breakfast diner, this is it. I came here for the first time and I can't say enough good things about them. They seated me immediately, they served my coffee soon after that. The whole team worked together like a well oiled clock. The team all had a smile, serviced me with pleasure too. The place was sooooo busy but had a warm welcome as if I were the only one there.
