Norms is underestimated. Their T bone steak is made the way I like it sorry no pic I couldn't wait. I ordered mine with garlic mushrooms and it was delish. Service was friendly and professional. Restaurant is clean. The interior needs an update. Plenty of parking. Norms doesn't disappoint. I never eat any other choices in the menu. My son had the breakfast omelette with pancakes and hashbrown potatoes and it was pretty good as well. I only took a pic of their freshly squeezed orange juice. It's so good!

Norms is simply the best- good food, friendly environment, good mood and the best servers!!! Today's order Country Fried Steak with gravy, hot cakes, scrambled eggs and hash browns with grilled onions!!! I always order a side of gravy- which makes the hash browns dunk worthy for this savory gravy!! One of the greatest servers of all times introducing PATRICIA!!! Kind heart, very respectful always attentive to the customer!!! My breakfast this morning - i can sum up in a few short sentences- It was lit.. I ate.. catch the flavor in your feelings!!

I ordered the full rack of BBQ ribs with the Memphis dry rub for $19.99. The seasoning was flavorful. The ribs are on the lean side but still tender. The slaw was crunchy, creamy and not overtly sweet. They allowed me to swap the fries for a baked potato at no extra charge. Very good potato. They also included a generous amount of butter and sour cream. I added a side salad thinking I was not going to get enough veggies from the slaw. I was wrong. Service was very friendly.

NORMS ORIGINAL PATTY MELT

Searching for a place to eat along PCH on Christmas day and this was the only restaurant operational. The staff were friendly and service was great. Food: the original patty melt was ok and nothing special but the lentil soup was on the salty side; the chilaquiles verdes with sirloin steak was good and the steak was fork tender; their flavored cold brew and jamaica was too sweet. Nevertheless, the crew were fantastic working on a holiday.

Tortilla soup and Caesar salad. Norms dinners still include BOTH SOUP AND SALAD!

I came to eat here at Norms again Tues Aug 19, 2025 and Wed because I am attending the Apartment Owners Association Convention at the Long Beach Convention Center on Wed Aug 20. There, I met contacts today that I am expecting to change my life and relieve me of the specific real estate and tax problems I've been suffering for the last 2 years. I have been eating at this Lomita Norms location since it was built in 1999. But 1995, I moved to Scottsdale, AZ and still live there. There are other Norms in other LA OC and Riverside locations, one I used to eat at in Riverside when I lived in Moreno Valley. I been eating at Norms somewhere since the 1980's when I lived in Tustin too.. Tues Aug 19, 2025, , I ordered 1 pound porterhouse steak used to be $14.95 1993, but I paid $25.99 plus tax and with tip $31.40. This Norms used to had a flame charbroiler. The 2 stars is because I really specified to the server that I wanted my steak medium rare, but as it defines ON the MENU, Med Rare is warm red center, and I wanted mine with RED center. Well it came out well done, which is defined as no pink in in the center. I don't want to pay $31.40 for well done, so I sent it back and the steak came out looking like the T-bone picture, very small tenderloin. I said I paid more for the porterhouse because it has the large tenderloin. The server went and showed me what a 3/4 T-bone looks like. But that T-bone was twice as thick as my porterhouse, but it was missing the tenderloin. I said "That's a NY Cut , but with the bone, cos it has no tenderloin." Well, I never got a Porterhouse looking like a T-bone at any Norms I've ever eaten at since the 1980's, So the 2 stars is about this paragraph of my review. It was not 1 star because this is not the server's fault but he was trying to accommodate with "What Is". The second time it came out, by definition on the menu, rare, and cool, so I sent it back a second time, and it came out just right, for me to pay $31.40 and be happy. Wed night I had the full rack baby back ribs with super delicious potato leek soup with Parmesan cheese, and cole slaw $19. I chose sweet and spicy Korean BBQ Gochijang sauce. Ribs are moist and fall-off-the- bone. I saved 2/3 of the rack for another day. Server let me substitute the fries for the delicious potato leek soup, so much better than the fries. But I learned you cannot substitute the fries on a cheap $9.99 meal like the trout, because they are not making enough on that price. Norms dinners STILL Aug 2025 give you both soup and salad and did not charge you extra for Caesar salad and fettuccine side. Long ago cut out the fettuccine choice as a side. Maybe one day they will cut out giving you both soup AND salad. I lived in Torrance from Dec 1988 - June 1995. Norms was my favorite restaurant when I lived there. Norms family started the Norms in 1949. Norms family sold all the restaurants in 2014 and people's good and memories experiences went with them. Everything was better when the family owned it. Norms is the kind of place were your servers at each location, worked for Norms for 15 - 35 years, still serving me today. There is man mopping the floors. I am told he worked at this Norms since it opens in 1999. Norms locations used to be open 24/7, but everything everywhere cut their hours. Can't pay employee $22/hour to work after midnight. When I came into this Norms at 6 pm Tues and Wed, I was the only customer. BTW, I was eating a delicious bowl of Korean spicy noodles on this parcel of land this Lomita Norms was build on before 1999. I called it The Roach Motel because on top of the restaurant was a transient motel. The restaurant had roaches running on the back of your booth and on the floor while you ate. I was afraid to put my feet on the floor while I ate, for that reason. But the bowl of thick Korean noodles was sooooo good ! I also met a lady at the AOA convention last year, and we became friends. On Thurs, Aug 21, she treated me for lunch at the Bellflower Lakewood and 91 fwy Norms, so I ate at Norms 3 consecutive days. I wrote separate review for that location. I live in Arizona now, so will come back to Lomita Norms when AOA convention at Long Beach Convention center happens again Aug 2026.

The chicken was all cut up not a whole chicken breast which I should have seen as a red flag. But I tried to enjoy it, thinking positive and enjoy my night. I finished the beer and ordered a small beer but I started feeling really dizzy during this time. And not from drinking. If you've ever been roofied you know this exact feeling. Things are moving slower. You're spinning. You don't have full control. And you could pass out at any second. Thankfully I got home but it continued in a shower I took to try and wake up, but that didn't work. On my sofa I passed out. And woke up the next day still not feeling good. Still needing to lay down and needing more sleep. Another night passed where I slept early. Like I was knocked out. And today, Friday I finally felt like it was all out of my system. And this all happened because I went to Slip. This is not a fluke. It was not an accident. It happened to me and it can happen to you too. It can happen anywhere maybe, or maybe not. But what's for sure is it happened to me there. If you're with Slip and you're reading this, do not try and make me an offer to return. I won't. Ever.

They had a kids menu as well and lots of side options. There were lots of Korean-inspired dishes as well like Kim chi fried rice. There was an entire menu just for different breakfast burritos. The turon pancakes really tasted like the real caramelized turon. It had a nice sticky syrup on top that wasn't too sweet. The pancakes came super hot and were fluffy. The portion size was great. The cilantro sauce on the burrito was delicious. The pickled veggies added nice acidity that I appreciated. The bad: I don't know if there was any parking other than street parking. We parked right out front which was 1 hour parking and to the side is 20 minute parking. The interesting: You order and pay at the counter and the food gets brought out to you. I saw they had fresh cookies baked as well. Inside, there were festive balloons. I am not sure if it's always there or if they were from a special event. I've tried their catering company too and it was great! I really love how both the cafe and catering company use fresh flowers on their food to elevate their presentation.
