Such a fun spot with the best energy. The restaurant itself is super cute and lively, and everyone working there was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Even the other guests were friendly, which honestly made the whole experience feel even more special. We started with the ahi tuna tostada and WOW -- definitely my favorite dish of the night. So fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The scallops were also beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We also tried the garlic bread because so many reviews hyped it up, but honestly... it was just okay. Not bad at all, but probably the one thing I'd skip next time. The biggest surprise for me was the fish and chips because I normally don't even like fish and chips. This version was lightly breaded so you actually got flaky, flavorful fish instead of a mouthful of batter. Perfectly fried and genuinely so good. We also ordered the arugula salad which was fresh and paired well with everything else. Overall, such a great experience from start to finish. Great food, great atmosphere, and genuinely warm service. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Brunch at Trani's Dockside Station is great. It is my favorite things about this place. Their lunch and dinner is great as well, but I am hooked on their brunch. I love their Cheesy Egg Toast which is cheddar cheese & grilled Sourdough for about 12$. Their Soft Shell Crab Benedict Arnold is served on a brioche bun, with mortadella, & béarnaise sauce. It is just amazing. For lunch we love the raw bar and always start with oysters and Peruvian scallops. They are super good. Their strawberry mixed greens salad is so great. They don't always have it, but most of the time they do. The place is so pretty. It is an old cannery with modern and adorable inside decoration. It is comfortable and super clean. The service is great. I don't know if they take reservations, I would call and ask. We go at odd times and have never had a problem.

If I eat at a place then leave when I'm done, and I'm still talking about how great the food is, that means a lot. Putting the location into maps was misleading. But you just keep going straight until you see it on your right. Parking isn't bad, a lot of space. From beginning to end, this place was amazing. Our server was super nice, very attentive, and patient. They recommended we order everything at once, and they'll properly roll out the food. Everything we had was super good. We had the miyagi oysters since they didn't have Kumamoto oysters that day. I'm not really a fan of huge oysters, I like the small kind. Honestly, every single thing that we had was amazing. I super appreciate our server for recommending things and giving her input on what to order. They change your silverware between appetizers and main course. Love it when they show that much care into allowing the opportunity for customers to have the best dining experience. Bathroom is super clean, 3 stalls, there's a hand washing area between the men's and women's, just in case you need it. This was one of the best dinners I've had in a long time. Easy 5/5, exceptional service, incredible food. Loved this place. I highly recommend.

I had this restaurant bookmarked for a while and we finally had dinner here for my birthday. It was a little difficult to get to, but it was worth the drive once we arrived. The restaurant had a lot of parking as we had early dinner reservations. We were first seated at a high table near the bar, even though I requested a nice table when making reservation. We got to switch to a regular table seating 2, but the hostess wouldn't let us sit by the window because she said those tables were reserved for parties of 4. I did see another couple sitting there, so it was a little disappointing. The tables did not fill up while we were there, so not sure why she was saving them. As another reviewer mentioned, the server requested everything to be ordered at once. We started with calamari appetizer, which was covered in a Thai flavored sauce. I should have asked for sauce on the side. My husband ordered a tuna tostada, which he enjoyed. He ordered the mussels as an entree, and I ordered the squid ink pasta with shrimp. The pasta was al dente and the shrimp was fresh. I received a birthday sorbet with candle, which was thoughtful of our server. I'd go back again if someone wanted to drive.

Dockside offers many dishes which are elevated standards. The fish selections are few but truly ambitious and tasty. The service is top notch. You feel like family there after just a few visits. The restaurant atmosphere is modern while using classic elements. Why 4 stars you ask? I'm a tough grader. I'm sharing a photo of day boat calamari. Not fried nor rubbery!

We came to Trani's Dockside for Valentine's Day dinner. The food was seriously amazing ,everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. You can really tell they focus on quality, and while it is on the expensive side, the taste makes it feel worth it. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the food. We had to wait about an hour for our meals to arrive, which was disappointing, especially for a special occasion like Valentine's Day. It kind of took away from the overall experience. I would say it's a good place to try at least once because the food really is that good. However, because of the service experience, we personally wouldn't go back. Just sharing an honest experience!

I am not a fan of the other Trani's in San Pedro so when my friend suggested to go here for dinner, I was hesitant. I am grateful I went. This restaurant is AMAZING. Aside from the amazing food and full bar with delicious cocktails, the vibes are extraordinary. This is a place to come for date night or girls night. Some of the seating is close together and not so comfortable. We sat at the bar. The calamari is in my top 3. I will forever be ordering that each time I come. We both ordered pasta, loved it. The sunken city gelato dessert was to die for. Once again, will forever be ordering that. I love this restaurant. Parking lot is directly outside and easy. It's overall a fun restaurant to go to and you won't be disappointed with what you order.

Saw his spot and my wife immediately opened her harbor side should visit list. She had a mimosa and I had soda we shared some garlic bread and Washington st oysters! Yum! Waiter was great! Super fun old pictures here!

This is long overdue. We came here on a whim because we were in the area and starving. We arrived right when they first opened up for dinner service, and there was plenty of parking as they have this huge lot for themselves. The staff were so friendly and accommodating even though (1) we didn't have a reservation and (2) we felt rather underdressed when we saw how elegant this establishment was upon entering. Regardless, we were greeted super warmly and seated even more promptly. I'm kicking myself right now because I cannot recall our server's name, but she was amazing! She was so friendly, patient and took the time to explain the menu and made recommendations after inquiring our likes and dislikes. We ended up ordering the Peruvian Bay Scallops, Manila Clams, Jim's Clam Chowder, Sausage Gnocchi, Fish & Chips, and their Crispy Alaska Halibut. We enjoyed them all immensely, and were insanely full with leftovers by the end. Our absolute favorites were the halibut (a limited special that actually sold out later in the evening), scallops, clams, chowder and gnocchi; basically only the fish & chips paled in comparison to all the other deliciousness that we ordered. We also got a couple of drinks (kicking myself again because I can't recall the names but they were refreshing and tasty!) that our server recommended, as well as ice cream for dessert! This was an incredible dining EXPERIENCE for us, just as our server explained was the mission of this restaurant and delivered! We felt like we were celebrating an anniversary or birthday because she, the establishment itself, and the yummy food made us feel that special! We left so happy and full. We can't wait to return the next time we're in the area. We will definitely aim to make a reservation next time, just in case, as this large restaurant became packed quite quickly, understandably.

Second time having dinner at Trani's dockside and both times have been great! Kind of an unexpected place in the middle of the docks but very nice layout. Dark, but not too dark -sexy. Service was standout on both visits. And we usually go early bc we are old . So it was not super busy at 530p but was packed both visits by 7p. This latest trip we started with the local calamari which was sweet and fantastic - haven't had it sweet before but am now craving it. We also split a half dozen oysters which is always a must. For entrees he got the swordfish Milanese and a side of mashed potatoes and I got the lobster + ink rigatoni. Both were delicious and filling but I was definitely envious of the swordfish dish. I had a small bite and wanted more! The mashed potatoes were fluffy and decadent and we split those. We also had 2 glasses of their New Zealand sauv blanc but I cannot for the life of me remember the name. Perfect with what we ordered and the server recommended it. If you haven't been, definitely check it out!

One of my favorite restaurants, hands down. The Trani family has been in the business for over 100 years, and it truly shows. The décor is beautiful: a thoughtfully repurposed old cannery with a tasteful touch of modern style while preserving the building's original character. Deeply rooted in the community, the menu is a heartfelt homage to their Italian and fishing heritage. The scallops are their signature appetizer and absolutely divine. We also love the mushroom pappardelle and the bucatini, both unforgettable. Owner Dustin is incredibly kind and works hard to keep the family legacy alive. Support a local business that takes pride in fresh ingredients, genuine hospitality, and a true love for what they do.

They have their own parking lot so that's nice. We sat outside with the fur-baby which they opened just for us so that was really nice of them. Food: Oysters were nice and fresh. The carpaccio was AMAZING. The swordfish I do remember was not great, didn't have much flavor, I think we even mentioned it to the staff since it was recommended to us but they didn't really do or say much. The dessert was good. Overall a good experience.

A hidden gem in San Pedro, was finally able to check it off my "Want to go" list. A busy and active vibe inside with a large bar area and friendly staff. Our server was amazing! She was quick and gave us valuable recommendations for our meal and they were spot on! The scallops were amazing, ceviche style I did not know what to expect but it was unbelievable, bite sized, tangy, with a little heat. Brussel sprouts were well seasoned and perfectly charred - yum! The special Clam Chowder was creamy with big chunks of clam. The fish & chips I ordered was one large piece of cod which had a crunchy coating with a juicy tender fish inside. The house tarter sauce had a nice zing to it and I asked for more so I could dip my fries in it! Had a bite of the sausage gnocchi and the sauce was sweet and savory. The bite of chicken parmesan I had was flavorful and the same tomato sauce as the gnocchi. All in all the dinner was amazing and the protions were very generous. I'll definitly be back!

That is custom, that is tradition and for most it meant to inject fun into life. In my opinion, what maximizes the fun is when a person quips or puns using their custom as fodder for the joke. For instance, on one Halloween. I called my insurance and the person on the phone told me that she was dressed as cat. At the end of the conversation, I was meant to rate her and I said do not worry your service was "purrr-fect." How long have you been waiting to say that joke? She replied. Since the moment she told me she was cat. So when I played and partied with sailors and marines I expected for similar jokes to be made since, in a way, they were in uniform/customs. Like when, me and another civilian played pool with two Sailors they introduced themselves as Diane and Scott, not Officer Sampson and Officer Aguilera. Then we just played a regular game of pool. They did not say things like, prepare for the onslaught of seafaring sailors. So I did not get a chance to say I will sink your battleship as I perfectly aligned my eight ball to a corner pocket. Basically, they were civilians in uniform they were not sailors playing pool. Makes sense, they were sailors on leave so their sea related puns must have stayed on board their ship. Regardless, the party experience with sailors and marines was fire in the hole. And this bar is one of the central places where the sailor party can be felt because San Pedro welcomes them once a year during Fleet Week. It is common sense but Sailors and Marines spend their time locked up, in a ship, or in base, or somewhere else. So when they step to land, the goal must be clear: party with restrained abandon. And this hope encompasses all around, so it is hard to not become a party animal. Imagine that they are the moon, and all around are party-wolves. When they rise, so do the party time howls. I can see this bar becoming a draw for partiers for a weekend. Some people may never come to Crimsin for their cocktails but I hope they come here for the sailors and marines. During this past Fleet Week, I bought a beer for a Marine named Thomas. He also did not say my name is Hightower or Olson or MacDonald when I asked for his name. He still accepted the beer and said thank you for the support. So I may not march in a parade supporting Marines, but still Thomas made me feel like paying for a Marine's drink was showing support for the freedoms that the armed warriors of this country provide. Yes, I know I did not run the SSO but still I was thanked for my support for a Marine. In the grand scheme of things, I accept his gratitude and trust that he meant his words. On a previous Fleet Week, me and a sailor both ordered from a bartender. The bartender ignored me and tended to the sailor. Makes sense, he was the guest of honor. And the sailor treated my drink too. Mad respect. And I hope it is the high seas that taught him to show respect to another for not all wars are won with missiles and bayonets. So the moment not only affords the right to party but it also affords the right to witness the evolution of military culture and how it has arrived to hold people with good values, a good heart, and compassion in their actions.

We have eaten cassoulet in Carcasonne, the home of cassoulet, and this was definitely worthy of the name. Gamey, savoury, duck falling off the bone, beans swimming in an umami broth, definitely lip lickingly good. However the vegetarian cassoulet was not as flavourful, it was nice, but needed more garlic, pepper, some herbs or seasoning, a little more oomph. The fennel was delish, but the beans bordering on bland and there was very little broth to dip my baguette into. With a belly full of beans we decided to order dessert because why not! Life is short, eat dessert, c'est la vie. Creme brulee was creamy with a tappingly good sugar crust, and the chocolate mousse had a nice consistency but was overwhelmed by cinnamon, which was a pity. It was definitely worth the visit for the Duck cassoulet, and we will visit again to try the onion soup and moules.

I was walking, to reach the needed dose of the daily 10,000, and I pass the Artistry. I did not…read moreknow it was there, until a comedian told me so. For you see, as I passed the outside of the Artistry a comedian/MC stopped me and explained that the spot was having a comedy night. Truth be told, comedy shows are simply not my choice of sport. However, the MC tried to convince me of the value of the show with an honest attempted that I respected. And thus I paid the 5.00 dollars and entered, I was ready to laugh and hope that the comedians would fulfill the hope. Additionally, entering the Artistry would provide me a lounge to wait for my friend that was coming to pick me up, in about an hour or so. As soon, as I entered the Artistry I was pleasantly surprised. It was a cool, inviting, elegant spot that was hidden from sight. It is the type of place that you only find when the winds of chance whisk you into a moment that impact and build your life. I will be the first one to admit that the winds of chance did not take me to Oz from Kansas, but they did take me to a welcome respite of people and opportunity. And at a more grounded level, I know now where to go if I have a wine-friend visit or I need a non-rowdy bar for peace and quiet. The place is a mash-up of modern appliances, contemporary art and pieces from days gone by. It is both eclectic and like a backyard sale of a Hollywood starlet. She accumulated trophies and bobbles of worth and next to the mat they are displayed on, you also see the junk she accumulated thought-out her life. In one of my pictures I show a tv that played maybe operatic music. It was signing with word that hit a deep range. This picture also has one of those fans that no longer have blades. The wind comes from an oval shape--- modern science. Another picture shows a Native American picture with a full headdress. It would be dynamic on a runway. Another picture shows a painting that seemed to be one of those famous food stills. So yeah, the collection that makes up the them decor is broad. I can only describe it as a wine cellar that was decorated by three friends, each of them with their own style. The friends were also young, like early 20s, so their taste and vision had not crystallized within them so there was no way they could take their three styles and make it one song in the same key. I also noticed that the menu had the word with misspelled. The typo added to the magic and hodgepodge of the place. Maria who works there, was a gem, a treasure, and the Hope diamond. I twisted my ankle a bit and it hurt to move, hence the stroll around town and not a hike to reach a top. I asked her to pour me a glass of water because I was sitting down, and getting up to reach the table, would make the pain amp up. She served me water and I apologized for being too needy as a customer who had become a patient. She then asked me if she could move the table closer to me. I said yes. She struggled a bit to move a table that looked like barrel, with a glass atop, and seemed to be full of wine corks, but it might have been just a layer that suggested fullness. She still managed to push the table. Now I could easily stretch and drink water. I thanked her for her work and kindness. And she said something so beautiful at it is core: I am here to serve. Thank you Maria for being of service. I ordered a fruity wine. I am not a wine drinker. The server suggested that one. Once I tasted it, it tasted like juice. The server compared it to a Capri Sun. Yeah, it kind of was. Then I drank more and I did not like it. I asked myself why? Like what specifically made me not like this wine? And all I could come up with was, "it tasted cheap." I felt bad for just describing something as cheap without further detail. Then I saw the bill. The wine was only 10.00 dollars. So it was a cheap wine. I mean right now, given inflation, what cocktail or pour is less than 10:00 dollars? A cheap one. And when I say cheap it does not mean that it lacks richness or attire from a brand name store. When I say that it is cheap I mean that it did not have depth of experience. It was cheap in the way that cheap perfume is, it does not have a layered complicated presence or scent and what it offers is lack of nuance, personality, hype and posture. Like cheap furniture, it's promise and function are soon broken. I would go here and try other wines. And who knows maybe one day I will find one that makes me a wine convert.
