We are here in long Beach for a boat cruise, and while walking around and exploring near our hotel, we looked on Yelp for a place to eat lunch. Very close by is a place named Crazy Fish Grill Express. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked over and the place has some charm. Small place with nice decor and a few seats, but outside seating is also available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered the Sea Bass with garlic butter sauce, and fish tacos plate. Reasonably priced and both was very good! I think we're going to eat here again before we go on the cruise in a couple of days!

    New England Clam Chowder. Good!

Pretty decent fish and chips here! The batter was flavorful, crispy, and not too heavy. The fries were really great! I couldn't stop eating them. We also ordered some tacos which were good. The clam chowder was good too but I wish it was served hotter. Service was good. Plenty of street parking in the area. They have a small area for outside dining. The place was pretty clean. Overall a good spot.

Food was delicious! We got the ceviche and fish n chips. Came out super fast! They gave us a ton of salsa which was also delicious. Cashier was friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambiance overall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just stopped in for a quick bite to eat and it was perfect. No complaints, no suggestions.

After doing errands around the area, I decided to try this spot. Parking can be tough, paid street parking. Luckily, I was able to find a parking a block away and decided to walk. I ordered fish and chips, just to try it out. Great customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small place with couple tables. I believe there's outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was surprised on how good the fries are. Well, the fish was definitely delicious - light, crispy and seasoned well. Overall, a must try place if you're craving fish and chips. Will definitely have to try their other menu.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Made it to San Pedro and saw this restaurant that caught my attention due to the beautiful signage outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Decided I was in the mood for some fish tacos so went inside to order. Staff was friendly and I was helped right away. I decided to get one grilled and one battered taco. Got them to go and they came very well presented in a box, tacos comes with sauce and coleslaw. I 100% recommend the battered taco more as it's softer to eat and has more flavor. I felt the grilled taco was much drier and even the sauces didn't help. Not the best fish tacos I've ever tried but I did enjoy the battered one.

Have you ever seen a sitcom or a cartoon that shows a one-person band? The person (usually a guy) has a big drum tied to his back, like the world's bulkiest backpack. A harmonica is suspended by an iron stick in front of his mouth, so he can play it because his hands are occupied with a violin and a flute, while the inside of his knees are strapped with symbols. And his toe-steel shoes have jingle bells on their heels. The point is that this man brings the melody of symphony by his sole actions. I bring this character to light because when I went to Crazy Fish Grill Express, it was Isaac who was the one-man band, who brought, not melody, but a wonderful dining experience to me when I visited the joint. Thus, his employers should know that he is beyond a one man band, he is a one man show, and this is my standing ovation to him cause he truly deserves the praise. I went with my friend Alexa to Crazy Fish. Truth be told, I would not have gone to the joint if it were not because Isaac invited me, we sometimes see each other at the same bar. I would not have gone to this joint because I did not think it held wonder. Yes, I judged a store by its front, I know I was wrong. But I just did not think that this place would deliver great fish fare (and meat dishes too) at an extremely reasonable price. It was quality food, the same that one would expect at the Water Grill (in OC or DTLA) or Neptune's Beard (a restaurant I just named that I imagine dwells in Atlantean avenues and its city corridors). But I am so glad I gave this place a chance. I felt like I had bought a scratcher out of love for chance, and hit a minor jackpot that made me feel lucky for my decision to try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as you entered, you were impacted by the material of the Ocean. My favorite fish of the school, was the mounted swordfish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wondered if I were fighting a vampire could I use the fish's sword to stake him and win? I am writing this during spooky season, so there is a chance I discover the answer to this question, the hard way. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did not feel like this place took under the high seas. Its maritime decor was not immersive. But the decor was present enough for me to feel like I had felt the quick heartbeat of a whale rising out of the water and plunging itself back in--- splashes of water are quick and then forgotten, but their droplets around remain.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Isaac came to the front after we rang the bell. Alexa and I had questions, as we ordered in the moment. I wanted to try several items, to honor my first experience within the joint. She imagined certain choices, I did the same, and our taste buds were meeting at places but not agreeing fully. When she and i were deciding on which sauce would top our salmon plate, Isaac offered us all the sauces available from Chimichuri to Garlic Butter to Seasoned Olive Oil. He transitioned from a staff member to a diplomate in that moment. The salmon plate came with two sides, we agreed on the brusselsprouts, and she selected the fries. What can you do? Sometime the basic wins. We also ordered their grilled fish taco plate, which comes with rice and beans. The fish in the taco is Mahi Mahi. It was not named in the menu. We also ordered a braise beef taco, which was refreshing to see in a fish joint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Alexa and I sat outside, the moment felt right for al fresco dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Isaac brought the food to us, after he cooked it. The braised beef taco came first. We had to wait for plastic ware. She cut the taco, and kept all the pikcled onions on her half. I noted this to her and she shared, I wanted my half to be composed too. I took a bit of my braised beef taco half, and, it was juicy, savory, and tasted like meat that was simmered for my enjoyment. When I took a bite I turned my head to the sidewalk, the meat juices dripped without hesitation. I did not my shirt or pants to receive joy spilled, the sidewalk could handle that. The brusselsprouts were roasted to the point of glory. They rivaled the brussels that had silverware and beans served on plates, not on cardboard vessels. In fact, much of the food was delicious, I felt lucky to be its eater. But if you are looking for the grace and charm associated with higher price tags then keep on moving, because the black means that were one of the sides of the Mahi Mahi taco plate came in one of those vessels that held tater tots in high school cafeterias. But the taste of the black beans and the brown rice and the Mahi Mahi tacos all were scrumptious and true to their simple origin, but elevated. The tacos came with Crazy Sauce. It was thick and rich, but perhaps a bit less would do. I forgot to order a diet coke. Isaac simply said, " I got you" and brought me one. His service was professional, attentive and never came close to being overly sweet. It was respectful and engaging, he added depth to the moment. I hope he works to fulfill his future so he knows the ocean beyond his tank.

Generous portions. Side salad was a nice refreshing surprise.

Craving some fish and chips, so stopped by. We love calamari and of course had to order some. Overall great experience. Staff was welcoming and pleasant. Food made fresh and brought to table in no time. The batter on the fish is thicker, and more on the sweeter side, but very enjoyable. The calamari was just the way we liked it. Lightly battered and wasn't too oily. The salad that came with it was awesome. Lemon and oil dressing. Love this addition. Too bad no wine or beer, though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathroom needs some TLC.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But would def come back if we're in the area.

Salmon fish tacos & fried shrimp tacos were fireeeee. Would like to go back and try more.

Came here with my wife after having therapy at Little Company of Mary San Pedro. We both ordered the fish and chips with no salt on the fries. The batter on the fish and chips was light and the fries crispy. Since I am on a low sodium diet, the fish and chips hit the mark with great flavor without being salty. We will be back to try the grilled fish on their menu.

I've been here multiple times and mostly stick to their grilled fish and zucchini. Always delicious. Their beans and rice aren't great but they're fine. The coleslaw is really good and it has green apple and sometimes papaya. Not super mayo-y. I've tried their bowls a few times and they are super good too. They come with chopped zucchini, corn, tomatoes, serrano peppers, aioli, rice, shrimp or salmon (grilled or fried), coleslaw, and fried wontons. I usually get it with more veggies, less rice and no aioli or wontons. Tried their fish and chips recently because I read good things. The kid's order comes with 2 pieces, while the regular comes with 4. I got the kids and it was the perfect size. It was good but not the best fish and chips. The batter was a bit thick and got mushy as it cooled. Prob won't order them again.

Honestly, for two, I'm not sure it was worth the $120 meal for the whole fried snapper tray with shrimp, ceviche + chips, and two drinks. The shrimp and potatoes were seasoned.l, so those were my favorite. Everything else was just alright. For the price point, I'd expect a better meal.

The pickled daikon and carrots also cut through the richness of the meat. We also got the spicy Cajun bag, which had a good amount of seafood and was easily splittable between two people. The seafood tasted fresh, and the sauce was very flavorful! The Thai tea was also creamy and refreshing, perfect for fighting the heat of the seafood. There is no bathroom, but the staff was also super nice and let us wash our hands in the sink behind the register. The spot is pretty small, with a few tables inside. Food arrives and we're given a pair of cafeteria lady plastic gloves, 2 of the thinnest papper plates imaginable and about 7 napkins. Theres no covers on the bench so I slice our bag open to where we can grab the food but not spill out on the table. Food gymnastics! When we finish eating we ask for wet naps to clean our hands and they dont have any, restroom? Nope, no public restroom. Were told we can come into the kitchen and wash our hands of we like.... thanks but no thanks. Thr girl still the register was super friendly though, so she got them an extra star in my review. The food: I dont know if im spoiled by other places, but it could also be that this isnt specifically a sea food boil place. Its a Asian fusion location with an option of a seafood boil bag, but i come to expect a bit more out of the sauce option. Like the sauce that was in the bag was just enough to coat the food and that's it. I seen like a couple sliced garlic pieces but really? Like 6 or 7 slices? Then the sausages.... theyre store bought hilshire farms sausages... and to charge $1 A SLICE IS DIABOLICAL! The clams were chewy, the shrimp was mushy... im forever now gonna take that 30 minte drive to anywhere for seafood boil. I really wanted to like this place, I really did... but im sorry, I just cant do a boil from here again.

We were attracted to the signage, and photos of the decor, thought we'd give it a shot. Walked in on a late Sunday afternoon, to bright smiles and welcoming hellos. Ambiance was hitting immediately. The menu, is a bit of this and a little of that. We really didn't know what we were in the mood for. I decided on 1 oyster and one scallop on the half shell. Very fresh, kind of small, servings. The sauce on each were unique and flavorful with a shallot accompaniment. Very nice though. Really balanced flow. The oyster, well I dont know how to express it any other way other than that you need this. You really do. I ordered the mushroom empenadas, my friend ordered steak tacos. The steak tacos were really good, with a nice portion. Meat had nice flavor, as did the aioli. No surprises with this dish, I mean steak tacos is self explanatory. The mushroom empenada was fantastic. Very rich, and filling. Just baked out of the oven with a perfect brown on the bread. Excellent flavor. Instead of the rosemary aioli, I had the mango jalapeño spread to dip into. Fantastic. Definitely coming back. Food took a bit to come out, but this isn't a fast casual dump. Its a little quiet neighborhood gem. Enjoy it.

There were a few things that really stood out and made me very happy that I gave it a try. First, the red sauce in the salsa bar: very legit! Spicy, but very flavorful! I also tried the green chili/tomatillo sauce, which was also very good and good counter point to the unctuous marinated chicken. And they don't go cheap on the meat. Secondly, the corn tortillas were made in house and were hefty! Very tasty and held together where other tacos need two of the thin store-bought variety to have a hope to stand together. Very good. If I had the tiniest critique, I would say to add a tiny bit more salt to them, but I have a theory why they may go scant on it, and I respect that. Third, the beans and rice: The beans were very simple, but simply good. It takes a lot of guts to make and serve simple pinto beans boiled with salt. I know! What a concept! But simply delicious, and made to complement the rest of the food, and not distract from it. It takes a lot of confidence in my opinion for a restaurant to have such faith in their food to leave some that should be simple, simple. The same was true for the rice: simply well made, not over done with a ton of ingredients. It was well made: the individual grains didn't stick together. And it was unctuous without being overbearing. If I had to guess, I would say that they used broth and chicken fat. Simply good, and a complement to rest of the meal. Now to my theory. It makes sense that the masa would be light on the salt because it is the same masa that they use for pupusas, and the filling for pupusas (I just like that word) is savory and well seasoned. I'll let you now next time I got back and try the PUPUSAS! ;)

While we waited for our main entrees to come, we were given a basket of bread and butter, bruschetta, and some kind of bell pepper appetizer. We had the following food items (in more simplified terms): chicken pesto, lasagna, and carbonara. Each entree also came with a simple salad. We thought the carbonara was a bit too creamy, which made it have a heavier taste than we expected. Lasagna was okay, I personally didn't eat too much of it. The chicken pesto was good and was probably my preferred dish out of the 3 that I tried. We also ate tiramisu. On my last visit, we got the sea bass, a fish taco, and the poke and chips. The sea bass was cooked perfectly, and the poke was incredibly fresh and clean. l've also been to their Express location downtown on 7th Street, and it's just as good. It's perfect if you're in a rush and need something quick. You really can't go wrong with either spot if you want a solid, casual seafood meal in Pedro. Highly recommend.

I asked the young lady at the counter how the salmon tacos were prepared and, by her reaction, you would have thought I asked her to explain the theory of relativity. Geeze Louise, it was taco Tuesday and she had to ask her workmates what was in the salmon taco. Then my sister's order of fire roasted corn and zucchini was loaded with chili flakes. Fired roasted corn usually means that the corn has been cooked over an open flame and is actually "roasted" corn. Fire roasted corn at this restaurant means that your mouth will be on fire when you eat it. Not good for someone with spice sensitivity. That's not good. What's worse is that when my sister took the spicy dish to exchange it, the young man who appeared to be in charge, told her "it's not too spicy for me". Wow!!! That's what I call an employee who needs some customer service training. So beware the fire roasted corn here and have some Pepto-Bismol ready for afterwards.

We drove into this plaza not far from work. I seen folks sitting outside. I could smell food. So we parked and walked inside. The place was busy folks at the bar chatting away watching the games that were playing. We were seated immediately. The server came asked what would we like for drinks. Hubby ordered a Michelada and I ordered a diet coke. That Michelada was delicious! I ordered Fish and Chips with cornbread I gave my food a 10. Hubby ordered BBQ pulled pork sandwiche he gave his food a 7. He was still hungry so I shared my plate with him. I wanted dessert so I asked for menu. We ended up ordering cookies and cream. That dessert was a 10!!!! The service was perfect and we enjoyed the vibe of shore grille. Never knew this good eatry was close to work. And for it being a holiday the 4th I thought they would of closed early.

We placed a $96 order through DoorDash and had confirmation that the order was paid for. My husband arrived at the scheduled pickup time, only to be told they had no order for us. Even though he had proof of the completed purchase, the way the situation was handled made it feel like they were insinuating that we must not have ordered or checked out correctly. I contacted DoorDash myself to cancel, and DoorDash actually called the restaurant. Suddenly, the restaurant confirmed they DID receive our order and said it must have been an issue with their Wi-Fi. DoorDash told us we could go back and pick it up, but my husband had already driven there once and been turned away. We weren't going to make another trip because of an issue on the restaurant's end. At that point, I felt the least they could have offered was to deliver the food themselves or make some effort to correct the situation. Instead, the order was canceled, and after waiting for dinner, our family ended up eating cereal. Mistakes and technical issues happen. What bothered us most was the customer service and how my husband was treated when he was standing there with proof that we had paid. A little kindness and willingness to problem-solve would have completely changed this experience. It's sad because we've supported this restaurant for a very long time, but after this experience, we'll be taking a break. I really hope they improve how situations like this are handled because longtime customers shouldn't leave feeling belittled over a mistake that wasn't theirs.

I was delighted, therefore, to find the fried calamari at 22nd St. Landing nearly perfect. The flesh was tender, and the breading was minimal, just enough to give it texture and extra flavor. I would have rated it perfect except it was a bit too salty, though not enough to ruin my experience. I chose this "appetizer" as my main course. I can also recommend the clam chowder, the first spoonful of which evoked a "wow" from me. Super rich and creamy, the chowder has big chunks of clam which were not uniformly tender, but overall satisfying. I finished my meal with a simple, house salad that balanced the richness of the chowder and fried seafood. The physical location offers a picturesque, panoramic view of the harbor, which was the perfect backdrop for the cuisine. Service was warm and professional, attentive but not intrusive. Perfect.
