Late review, but my sister and I dined here while we were staying at the Doubletree the day before our cruise. So glad we did! The view alone is amazing, being right on the marina. We shared a BLT and fries and were surprised when they brought it out evenly split on two plates. It was so tasty! Bread was fresh, sandwich had delicious flavor, and the fries were perfectly crispy and flavorful. We thought for sure they'd charge us for the split plates, but they didn't! So convenient, since we knew we wouldn't finish a meal on our own. The morning before checking out, I ordered oatmeal and a muffin to bring back to the room. They packed up the brown sugar, raisins, and milk in separate containers so I could add it myself. Nice touch, in my opinion! Oatmeal was tasty. Just what I needed before the cruise. Know about the 20% before you sit down After a long day of driving, the DoubleTree San Pedro was my last stop before a cruise out of the port. Got in mid-afternoon, rested a bit, then came down to the hotel restaurant (2800 Kitchen & Lounge) for something to eat. It's a seat-yourself setup -- some people at tables, some at the bar, the staff covering both bar and food service. It took a while before anyone acknowledged me; I was solo, so I took a spot at the bar. Simple order: tacos on Taco Tuesday and one beer. Tab came to about $26. Here's the thing to know: a 20% gratuity is automatically added to every check, per the collective bargaining agreement. It's printed on the menu, it's on the receipt, and there's a sign about it on the wall. Nothing wrong with the policy itself -- but this hotel runs full of cruise passengers, many of them international, and I watched the couple next to me work through the menu with Google Translate. If you're not reading English closely, you'd never catch that the tip is already included, and American custom says tip on top. Worth wondering how many people pay twice without realizing it. I was directed to choose a seat upon arriving at the podium. From there, it was 10-15mins before anyone came my way. It seems that there is no waiter and that the bartender was the only one working the floor (and a fairly busy bar), which is odd for a Friday evening, pre-cruise nonetheless. I was a bit disappointed that also for a Friday evening, much of what I was looking at was unavailable. On the cocktail list, of the 9 cocktails listed, I believe the bartender said she was able to make 4 of them. I ordered the Burrata, only to then find out they were out of burrata, so I had to settle for the mezze platter if I planned on eating. (Was trying to make an effort to eat semi clean before boarding tomorrow.) I ended up going with the mezze platter but wasn't really impressed. Like others have mentioned, the food is "OK" at best but the service is pretty bad. We stayed here the night before our cruise and didn't want to venture out for dinner (not many options nearby). I 100% recommend staying in Long Beach and taxi / uber this direction the day of the cruise. Staying and or eating here is 100% not worth it. read more

This was the restaurant at the Double tree where we were staying the night before our cruise. We didn't feel like leaving after we were settled so we ate here. There was only one server and he had a bit of an attitude. We asked for separate checks up front and at the end he gave us combined check and then yelled at us saying we didn't tell him. The food was really good though. I ordered the Cubano with a side salad. It was still $25 because they automatically add 20% gratuity. I didn't quite agree with that especially since our waiter had the attitude. read more

It's been several months since our last visit. Unfortunately the hotel did not offer shuttle service at night so we stayed in the hotel for dinner. We had a table by the window with a view of the marina. Service was good. We had nice cocktails, the burned ends appetizer, fried cauliflower and a Caesar salad. All were good, but we were sad that the salad was not as advertised. It was described as a while-leaf salad and included a poached egg. We were served a very standard chopped Caesar. Our tab was $98! We had no delays with service. Food was good too. Only complaint is that prices are high but there isn't much around if you are staying at the DoubleTree. read more

The happy hour plates are very affordable and delicious. Also the salmon plate was delicious. I have ordered the fish tacos on several occasions if you eat fish you will not be disappointed. This restaurant was located in the Doubletree. Located in the lounge lobby area. I came with 3 friends and we stayed and had dinner here. I ordered the Cobb with shrimp. The shrimp was seasoned well and the portions were good. Each of my gfs enjoyed their orders! The pasta was definitely made in house and fresh. The only issue we had was with the server. He had asked us in the beginning if we wanted split checks, which we said yes too.. then brought us a joint check at the end. It seemed like we Inconvenienced him. Otherwise. The ambience is okay. I stayed here for two nights and because we're Hilton diamond members we received an $18 daily credit for food and drinks during our stay. We decided to take advantage of the credit by getting breakfast here. Most of the food was just about $18 so we only had to pay a few dollars out of pocket for the added service charges. We ordered the breakfast burrito one day and oatmeal the next. The burrito was really fresh and filing. It was the perfect amount to share as we prefer a light breakfast. Both times we got it to-go. They packaged our orders so delicately. Not to mention the service was fast and friendly. If you're staying at this hotel I would highly recommended going here if you need a quick meal. read more

They only offer a buffet on the weekends. Despite advertising for room service both online and on the hotel televisions, I was told you could not order alacarte. The food options available at the buffet definitely do not warrant the price for the buffet. Not a good value at all. Service was very slow and inattentive. Staff was not friendly. My wife and I spent the night at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel San Pedro - Port of Los Angeles, and 2800 Kitchen and Lounge is located on the first floor. Aesthetically, the restaurant does not have the best set up inside the hotel because of its proximity to the front desk, but the outside seating area offers beautiful views of the marina. Due to the proximity of this hotel to the cruise terminal, this is a high volume hotel with groups of guests entering and exiting the property at any given time. That being said, the restaurant staff work hard to get you seated and to take your order. Both my dinner and breakfast service was outstanding, and the food quality and freshness was very much appreciated. I am grateful for this hotel restaurant and its hardworking employees that saved me a trip into the downtown San Pedro area after we got settled. Thank you for the positive experience! read more

Came here just before 7pm on a Friday to try the happy hour - happy hour is 3-7pm on Fridays, not 7-10pm like some of the older photos on here show. We decided to stay anyway to have a drink and appetizer. Drinks were okay, but what was especially disappointing was that very basic nachos (chips, shredded cheese, jalapeños, sour cream) took over 20 mins to get to the table. Will be back for the actual happy hour, but for drinks ONLY. The hotel seems really nice and you would think with such a great location they would prioritize elevating their food. read more

Food was fine. Service was, especially for a hospitality-based business (Doubletree Hotel), abysmal. Was not particularly busy, but two different workers came to the front while we were waiting to be seated without even acknowledging us. We stood there for (I timed it) 6 minutes and 23 seconds before someone asked if we've been helped. On our way to the table, they asked if we want anything to drink, and rather promptly did bring those to us with menus. We then sat for another 8 minutes and 14 seconds before being asked what we'd like to order. I hope someone opens a cafe near to here that will provide this place with a little competition and incentive to improve, or otherwise just make a killing off of the guests who should go elsewhere. read more

The night before a cruise we stayed at the doubletree. After a stress spilled travel day we weren't willing to go out and about so we opted for the hotel restaurant. My father had the wings and myself the nachos. He liked the wings but looked a little too saucy for my taste. I had the nachos apparently the last they had for the night. Plenty of cheese my only complaint was the cheese wasn't completely melted but I didn't say anything cause I was just ok tired at that point. Wasn't bad suited the need at the time. read more

Location is right on Marina (connected to the DoubleTree Hotel) - they have a great patio, with heating, fire pit, and it's dog friendly! Food was great, prices are moderate - they have a Vegan section on the menu too! A little something for everyone on the menu. Our waiter, (although swamped as they seem to be a bit understaffed) was very nice, and apologetic for the wait. We will definitely be back! read more

Good place for a simple meal. Think wings or nachos for an appetizer and a basic pasta dish or burger for dinner. Nice view. Friendly staff. Drinks are decent. I've been here twice in the last month and enjoyed my food and the service. I'm a local and it's open late enough. My dad stays here when in town so we had dinner and one of my friends stayed there too so we ate late. If you want Terranea food, go to Terranea and pay. The view of the harbor is beautiful, however, the rest of our experience was just so-so. We were a bit early for happy hour prices, and they wouldn't honor them. I really wanted to like this place but our food was just awful. We ordered the panini, the nachos and the smash burger. The nachos were dry and lacked taste, it was chips with dry, glued-on cheese. The panini was halfway decent although the sourdough bread was so dry and crunchy that it scraped the roof of my mouth. The smash burger was soggy and very salty. The fries that came with both sandwiches were old and cold. Tried this place because we were staying at the hotel. Next time we stay there, we will order in delivery or simply Uber and eat somewhere else. read more

Love this place! Live music, a friendly wait staff, and good food. All right next to the Marina, and attached to the hotel. I appreciate Michelle the bartender - she always recognizes me and makes me feel like a local. In the mornings, the food is excellent, and all the morning staff are friendly, thoughtful, and kind. They always have fresh coffee at my table, and other little touches show they care about their work. Don't miss this great gem in a hidden corner of San Pedro. read more

We stayed in the Doubletree Hotel in June 2022 and one of the best things about our stay was the 2800 Kitchen and Lounge. Every meal we ate there was perfectly prepared and delicious. The food always arrived hot and was consistently tasty. I would like to recognize one of the waiters, Chuck, who served us a few times. Great attitude and made dinner just that much more enjoyable. I would also like to acknowledge Reuben for his help in making sure that the dishes were vegetarian friendly (the Beyond Burgers were terrific and the Cajun Pappardelle minus the chicken was the best pasta we have had in a long long time).
