After working in Rancho Palos Verdes for 10 hours. My hubby picked me up from work. I asked him if he felt like dining in somewhere to eat. He said yes! We drove into this plaza not far from work. I seen folks sitting outside. I could smell food. So we parked and walked inside. The place was busy folks at the bar chatting away watching the games that were playing. We were seated immediately. The server came asked what would we like for drinks. Hubby ordered a Michelada and I ordered a diet coke. That Michelada was delicious! I ordered Fish and Chips with cornbread I gave my food a 10. Hubby ordered BBQ pulled pork sandwiche he gave his food a 7. He was still hungry so I shared my plate with him. I wanted dessert so I asked for menu. We ended up ordering cookies and cream. That dessert was a 10!!!! The service was perfect and we enjoyed the vibe of shore grille. Never knew this good eatry was close to work. We placed order via Foodja for BBQ and the food was not disappointing. We love the tri-tip! The sides were very good too. The food arrived on time which tells me the restaurant was quick and made the order on time for Foodja delivery guy to pick up & deliver. I love that we got stickers and menus with our order. So we had not eaten here in awhile because we had bad service in the past - good food. My cousin told me all about how great the Taco Tuesday was so we decided to give it a try. She was right, 2 taco plates for $25. Three generous size tacos and chips. I had the baja fish and he had the shrimp tacos. We had great service from Alex and were excited to dine there again as this is 5 minutes from our house. We went back a week or so later on a Thursday night, we were seated promptly and then we waited for over 20 minutes to be acknowledged, offered water or to place our order. Instead we watched the server clean tables (there were plenty available), chit chat with staff at the bar and be in the kitchen for quite a period of time. No "I'll be right with you - nothing". We were ready to get up and leave and he finally came by to see what we wanted to drink. We decided to place our order because who knows when he would be back. Came here with a group of 8 including kids for Sunday lunch. Just note that they do charge 20% gratuity for parties of 8 or more. Place was basically empty minus another occupied table. Our server was friendly and great. Parking is decent since it's located in a small plaza. I ordered the Baja fish tacos which came with 3 tacos, salsa and chips. The tacos were pretty good and you're given the choice of corn or flour tortillas. The price points are good given how big some of the portions were. I was surprised at how big the kids cheeseburgers and mac and cheese were. The kids definitely had leftovers for later. Great spot if you're in the San Pedro area. Six of us are here and we were seated shortly after we arrived, but we did make a reservation prior to coming. Our server is ALEX. He is wonderful!! Very good! We usually order the baby back ribs with cornbread and mashed potatoes, and I've also had the mahi‑mahi dinner, excellent as well. The calamari appetizer is delicious if you're into fried foods; the pieces are large, finger‑sized, and nicely breaded. From the beer list, Mango Cart is my favorite. read more

Fish itself was perfectly cooked, batter coating was not too thick but could have used about 30 seconds more in the fryer to get it a little crispyer. The good: I tried the Baja fish tacos, grilled mahi-mahi with mashed potatoes and arugula, kids bbq chicken with waffle fries and calamari strips. For dessert we tried the apple tart with ice cream. The calamari was so incredibly tender! It wasn't chewy at all. It came with a cocktail sauce. The tomato and balsamic sauce on the arugula was delicious and the buttery mashed potatoes were delectable. The kids portion was generous and the waffle fries weren't overly oily. They had coloring pages for kids. The interior was classic style and had 3 TVs displaying sports. There were art paintings on the wall of local ocean views. The ice cream apple tart wasn't too sweet and had a nice dusting of cinnamon as well as some caramel drizzled over it. It tasted freshly made and was surprisingly delicious. The bad: The calamari was a bit too salty. It was also pricey at $17-18 as an appetizer. There's no outdoor dining. The mahi-mahi seemed a bit over cooked because of the texture. The Shore Grill is a local restaurant just on the outskirts of Palos Verdes in a small strip mall at 25th and Western Ave. in San Pedro. Parking is good, which is important to me as I hate door dings on the car. The staff is welcoming and the ambiance is festive but not overly loud, even with bar service. The lighting is slightly on the dark side but enjoyable. The food is very good and their portions are large. I especially like the fish tacos, which are jam packed with fish, salsa and topped with a delicious sauce. The fish and chips were large enough for left overs as a take home lunch. So in conclusion, the food is very good, service is friendly and timely. The menu is varied ranging from a Caesar salad to a rib eye or ahi sandwich and the prices are reasonable. My friends and I were in the neighborhood, and were looking for a place to have lunch. A member of our group suggested this place. Looking over the menu, we liked what we saw, and went with the suggestion. The place was busy, as it's a local favorite. There were 5 of us, with a 6th person arriving later. The host offered us a booth, which we politely declined, and, instead, waited for a section that would hold all 6 of us. After a few minutes, the host let us know our section was ready. He was nice enough to put together 3 tables end-to-end for us, complete with menus, and silverware. While a couple of us settled for ice water, one of my friends ordered an Old Fashioned, another an Iced Tea, and another ordered a beer. Our server(who was also our host) was quite nice, and attentive. He took all of our orders, and accommodated our requests for separate bills. I ordered the Shore Burger, with a side of BBQ Baked Beans. All of our orders arrived at the same time. While my beans were somewhat warm, my burger was lukewarm...but still juicy, and, delicious! They didn't splurge on the sauce, and, my burger didn't disintegrate while I was eating, which, while not that big a deal(the part about having your burger fall apart while you're eating), is a bit of an annoyance, and I was happy that my burger, aside from a few drips of burger juices, stayed intact. All in all, great service, great food. Definitely making this a go-to next time we're in town! My lone [minor] issue was the temperature of my burger. The space itself is nice. It used to be a Chicago ribs and it looks the same but more updated and modern. Food was mid...it's not terrible but it's not good. Reminded me of BWW or diner type of food. I was craving chicken strips so I tried them with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The strip themselves were decent but not what you would think of when you think of chicken strips. The breading was light which I liked and the meat was wide and thin. Mashed potatoes were super thick and gummy and the Mac and cheese was that plastic-ky cheese with no flavor. Living close by to this place. I've never actually been there until recently. I had no expectations but I had the Reuben and my family had cheeseburgers, macaroni and cheese. I had a little bit of everyone's and all that was flavorful. It was an extremely busy night and the server came rather quickly to take our order. This is a regular spot we visit a few times a month. Food is consistently excellent , service is good, they have our favorite beer (Space Dust). My go to items are usually the ahi salad, their fish tacos are flipping delicious too, and their ribs are delicious as well. If it isn't the right season for mahi, anything on the menu is good so don't worry (: you'll find something good! Amazing customer service, they remember their returning patrons, and provide a welcoming and friendly environment. Even if you need extra sauce or have requests, they never make you feel like a burden (as someone with social anxiety this is big for me!!) If you're into sports they have a few screens as well. My mom, sister and I came to this place for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, when we walked in there the place only had about 5 people in there so it was very quiet and not busy at all, the food here is amazing ! The drinks were ok , I got a blood Mary and it barely had any liquor in it , it was very bland . My husband and I were seated and I ordered the Mahi Mahi Mediterranean. This dish has to be illegal. I wanted to scrape the plate, but I couldn't because I was so full!!! The Mahi was fresh, seasoned well and flavorful. The grape tomatoes and arugula pulled the entire dish together beautifully! Wanted something that would always be a solid option when you're in a new area and for me that is fries and a really good chicken salad. There's really no way to do it wrong. I got the country fried chicken salad with a side of waffle fries. And it was an absolute hit! They gave a lot of chicken pieces and the salad was very filling and the waffle fries were just the right amount of seasoned and the ranch was good. We've tried so many menu items and everyone has always enjoyed what they have ordered. I'm in love with their fish tacos. You get three tacos with thick chips and salsa on the side. I can't even begin to tell you how delicious these tacos are. Crispy on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside. Pure fish taco perfection. The service has always been great. We get refills right away and never have to wait for anything. This restaurant is a little pricey and that's what prevents me from going back more often than I do, especially for lunch. The ribs are meaty, flavorful, and slathered in a perfect mix of sweet and savory sauce that hits all the right notes. Each plate comes with two sides, and the grilled asparagus is always a highlight--tender, lightly charred, and full of flavor. I just wish they'd toss in a few more spears because they're that good. I went to the Shore Grille for the first time and was very pleased with the food. I ordered the half rack of ribs with a side of asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The ribs fell Off the bone so tender and the bbq sauce was not over done and not too sweet. The asparagus was cooked to perfection and the garlic mashed are made with real potatoes skin still on. It also came with a delicious piece of corn bread that had a honey butter to die for. My dad ordered the Cobb salad which was tossed in a delicious homemade blue cheese dressing. The service was a little on the slower side and I would have loved a hot towel after having the ribs but those are my only complaints. It kind of has a bar/pub vibe but it was cozy. Now that I've got a few visits under my belt, I feel like it's time to spill the baked beans. It used to be a Chicago Ribs but if I'm gonna be honest, I like Shore Grill way better. While the fare / menu may be similar, I feel that they've stepped up the tastiness just a tad. Inside is pretty much the same as prior, but service seems better. And even though we typically utilize them for parties and mega orders, inside is nothing less than fabulous. Quaint and cozy IMHO and staff is fantastic! Take out orders are (or have always been) way, WAY more than you expect. So... BEWARE!!! Leftovers will most likely be plentiful!!! We love the cornbread (especially the butter), the beans, the mac n cheese, mashed taters and of course the meats. Ribs are fall off the bone good and the chicken is always moist. (Even the breasts which at most joints, can be hit or miss). Not cheap, not pricey but well worth it in any case. Just had the worst meal we've eaten for a long time. I had the barbecued half chicken w/asparagus and mashed potatoes.The chicken was so overcooked and dry I couldn't swallow it without water. Could hardly believe it was so inedible. The asparagus was undercooked and mashed potatoes were runny, like they were from a box.My husband had grilled salmon on a Spring salad. His salmon was also extremely overcooked. He said it didn't even taste like salmon--he said it was terrible, and he never says that. The entire meal was so disappointing and made us feel very ripped off.How can they serve food this bad and still have a full restaurant? Will never get food from here again, obviously. read more

We were relieved that the restaurant could accommodate our extended family group rather late on a Sunday evening. Corkage is VERY reasonable, and the service was very generous (extra cornbread for the couple of people who did not have it). I really enjoyed my ribs and grilled asparagus. Using the Chicago for Ribs recipe, the ribs were incredibly tender. Unsolicited but most welcome, we had some extra sauce served on the side. I cannot believe that it took me so long to get here.
