Lasagna, Meatballs & Garlic bread
jill b.

The Lasagna is amazing! Shoutout to Alex, he wasn't even our waiter and I bugged him three different times, Parmesan cheese, dressing and a to go box. He was so kind and helpful. I have never seen him here before but wanted to write a review for him! Keep up the good work Alex you are very good at what you do. The food never disappoints.

LOVE the meatball pizza here! I usually call in my order and have never had any issues whenever I put in a phone order for pick up. Went to dine in for the first time and the employees were very, very attentive during our entire time there! Will continue ordering my pizzas to go, but would definitely consider dining inside if I were getting more than a pizza in the future.

Philly cheesesteak. The picture doesn't do it justice . Gotta try it.

Came here during lunch, asked cashier to give me her favorite sandwich and she suggested a Philly cheese steak with mustard and jalapeño. I have to say this is the best Philly I've had by far. Bread is soft, steak is really good . For the price I'd get it every time, paid about 18$ for both sandwich and some chips. The ambience is warm and it was pretty packed in the dining area. I will definitely come back for another sandwich here.

SPAGHETTI & GARLIC CHEESE BREAD

Spaghetti was sooo good! And the garlic bread was on point ! It also came with a green salad that I didn't even touch because it was so much food! Highly recommend

Pep & Sausage pizza was too good I grabbed a slice before the pic lol.

I was craving pizza and had mistakenly placed an Uber Eats order for this "Sorrento's Restaurant" in San Pedro rather than a different Sorrento's establishment located near my house. Aside from the initial confusion and longer wait time due to the delivery driver's commute, this had turned out to be a wonderful mistake. The medium-sized pizza I ordered was generously piled with toppings under the cheese. The pizza itself was delicious and the marinara sauce was super flavorful! I also ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were fortunately still edible by the time my order had arrived. In fact, they were actually still quite good. My boyfriend ordered a small chicken parm sandwich and he scarfed it down immediately. It's safe to say we both loved the food from this establishment and I'm looking forward to actually dining in sometime in the future. Totally recommend to anyone in San Pedro looking for some great pizza. Support your local businesses!

Soggy, wet pizza. Onions are raw.

I ordered a pizza for delivery and it was the worst pizza I ever had. It was undercooked, wet, and soggy. I ended up throwing it in the oven to try to fix it. I like to buy from local business rather than big chains, but I won't get a pizza here again, sadly.

Sorrento's in San Pedro is a solid spot for classic, no-frills Italian comfort food. The portions are huge and come packed with hearty sauce and melted cheese, just the way a neighborhood Italian joint should serve it. I tried the baked ziti/lasagna-style pasta (photo 1) and the spaghetti with meat sauce (photo 2). The baked pasta was rich, cheesy, and loaded with tomato sauce--definitely a heavy, satisfying meal. The spaghetti was simple but filling, with a good balance of meat and sauce, topped off with a generous dusting of parmesan. Both dishes came hot in foil trays, perfect for takeout. The flavors lean more toward comfort food than upscale Italian, but that's part of the charm. Prices are fair considering the portion sizes--you'll almost always have leftovers. If you're looking for authentic red-sauce Italian-American food in San Pedro, this is a dependable spot. Just be ready for a cheesy, saucy, carb-loaded feast.

Antipasto Salad is wonderful !

Some of our favorites here: Antipasto Salad w Cherry Peppers and Creamy Italian Dressing on the side. Garlic Bread is a winner ! Chicken Marsala is a very nice entree with vegetables on the side. Meatballs and Italian Sausages are both great with their marinara sauce or with melted cheese on a sub Sandwich. Of course their Pizza is quite tasty too..only problem is they don't deliver. Tip: save yourself some money by paying with cash. New owners are former employees of many years, and are totally keeping up the quality and traditions !

You can use postmates to order... however.... Sorrentos has always been a "in person dining…

Does anyone know if Sorrento's open during the quarantine and if so, what hours? I have been calling and the line just rings and rings (no outgoing message). I would love to support this local business.

On 3/29 they posted on Facebook that they closed temporarily for a couple of weeks. They didn't post exactly when they'll reopen. If you follow them on FB, I'm sure they will post it there.

Inside is beautiful and Bailey was our server. She was super knowledgeable and walked us through the food items we should definitely try. Thank you Bailey for the wonderful service. The Peruvian scallops were another level in flavors. We also tried the fatty tuna tostada, cheesy egg toast, biscuit and gravy and the fried chicken. everything was super good. You can tell they put a lot of thought behind each dish. We also tried some drinks. Mahalo at your boy and bergamot spritz. I really enjoyed mahalo at your boy because the flavors were simple but together were beautiful. My boyfriend enjoyed his spritz. I tasted it and I'm not a huge fan of gin but I could tell that is something a gin drinker would like.

This review is based on four visits over the last six months, but last nights experience crystallized my thoughts, so ill focus there. Chef's wins: The Peruvian bay scallops last night were a real show stopper. Bay scallops with a cashew sounds ridiculous, but it absolutely worked! The ability to combine flavors and textures is remarkable. On previous visits, the oysters were similarly fantastic. The anchovy toast feels like a throw back to the old countrt--- try it. Chef's struggles: The pasta courses dont seem to have the same pop as the rest of the menu. I looked for, but did not find a fish entree that jumped out, so I had a Kansas City steak that was pretty uninspired. Id love to see a Salmon on the menu, maybe over a wood fire ... maybe next time. The real painful parts of the experience: The two star rating is in large part due to the service. Our water last night was very dismissive. I ordered appetizers and she quipped, we prefer you order everything at once and we will course your food appropriately. This is not the first time I have been given this request, so it seems a policy. Unfortunately, they cannot ever seem to get the coursing correct. Last night, Ihad to clarify twice that she would put our appetizer order in. I essentially got a yah, yah whatever and felt blown off. Then, she failed to properly time the appetizers. We had an absolute pile of dishes that arrived at our table making it hard to eat. To be honest, I should not have been surprised. Do NOT LET THEM COURSE THE MEAL. Multiple times I struggled to find our waiter. The best example of this was at the end of the night. I found another waiter to put in our dessert order. We did enjoy the butter cake. Then I had to get up to find someone to pay our bill, which we did. As we were getting up to leave she asked if we wanted dessert. I really wanted to laugh at her, but instead explained my frustration over dessert and tipped 10%. Cocktails were hit and miss... good use of coconut milk for one drink, but my cocktail was a terrible overuse of St Germaine. Ambiance is fair, but tables are small. Parking is great.

I have the burrata caprese and I think it could use more balsamic I mean burrata is burrata so it was fantastic. The tiny tomatoes throw me off a little bit for but like in general everything was delicious.. My friend ordered the lasagna which I was a little bit envious of after I saw it. It's a huge portion and it's absolutely fantastic.. I had the night special, which is chicken piccata, which was overall very lovely buttery lemon and tangy could've used a little bit more pasta, and the broccoli was cooked really well in general lovely. We share the tiramisu for dessert and I really can't complain. I think it could've been a little bit more punchy when it came to the coffee in the rum, but it was still really good. And General service was great. They were really busy so it wasn't anything too frequently and the manager or the owner checked in on the tables and I'm happy that we went here..

I like the front entrance. They also have a side entrance but it's not as appealing to the eyes. A handful of tables outside in a patio area with a couple of TVs. When you walk in, it's like walking into a wine bar. At least that's the vibe I received. But it's a small family restaurant. Which is dope. Look like I arrived just in time for happy hour. The bar area gives this chill and intimate vibe especially with the many wine bottles being displayed. And the bartender is right there to service you with no problems. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Even the two older women who didn't decide to speak until Barbara the bartender sat a bit late of fried calamari in front of me lol. That indeed sparked great conversation amongst the 3 of us. Talking about calamari and sone other restaurants. I'm used to drinking my Moscow Mules out of copper cups so this grey one was different and it was smaller in size but the drink itself was definitely refreshing. Wasn't tryna rush it lol. And It's $7.20 during happy hour. The calamari for me could have been seasoned better or more. I also would've preferred it to be fried a lil bit longer. I love mines crispy or a lil bit hard and not so chewy. With that being said, Barbara said to let them know next time. However, I believe it's a popular item and I could see why, especially with the portion size. It's very generous indeed. For $10.80 I would too. Barbara made me a Mojito and it was perfect. Very refreshing. Took my time with that also lol. A price of $7.20 you can't beat that at all. Very good price I must add. I personally think and feel like the filet mignon tacos were fire. No lie. It was tender. It was flavorful. Good portion size. I liked the presentation and flavors coming from everything. They're not street tacos either lol I would definitely get those again but I think they're only available during happy hour. 2 tacos for $10.80 during happy is an awesome deal. Before I left I thanked everyone for their service and even had the opportunity to chop it up with some staff members. Everyone was real cool. Fasho fasho. Barbara even introduced me to the chef on my way out. I believe his name is Angel. Great dude !!! and we also had a great conversation. I love the location. I love the service. I love the vibes and I love the food. Check em out for yourself if you're in the area or just wanna take a ride to somewhere new. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Seaside Bistro claims homemade hollandaise. It is TERRIBLE, and COLD! It is also too sweet. What? I make hollandaise from scratch and the ingredients are simple: egg yolks, lemon juice, butter, salt, pepper and a little cayenne. I doubt that it was made scratch "in house", maybe they had a starter that they stirred together so they can say "homemade." Any way it was horrible, too thin, too sweet, not enough acid and not warm. The English muffin, ham, eggs and potatoes were good though. We were the only people in the restaurant at 9:30am and the service was lacking. Our server was on her phone and never came to check on us. We had to yell for her attention.
