When to this location after a funeral. It was a party of 50 or more. I was not counting to par but there was alot of us. We were all seated at a very long table. It was a buffet style type of gathering with complimentary tea, water, and lemon aid. All was very refreshing. Waiter took our drink orders, for those that chose not to settle for those beverages listed above . Everything was paid for by the host except for the alcohol. You must pay at your own dime. Stood in line at the buffet. Your choices were salad, rice, beans, enchiladas, and tacos. Provided meats were Carne Asada, Chicken, and Pork. Salsas, salt, pepper, silverware and plate settings. To my surprise, all was very good. Customer service was friendly and helpful. No complaints. Great buffet! Overall the food and service was good. Cool place to dine. We were sitting on the right side of the restaurant. Outside Patio. Looks like that side of the restaurant was not complete. It was half constructed with bare wood. The vibe was cool. The dissapointing part of this restaurant is the parking. Parking sucks! You would have to park 3 to 4 blocks away from the restaurant. Regardless, what matters is the place is clean, has good food and service. Restrooms are acceptable. read more

So happy to finally try this place out! Inside and outside of the restaurant is beautiful, colorful and festive with so much to look at while you enjoy your food and the music they blast. Service was okay, our server was attentive, nothing extraordinary. The food is the standout here. I don't like salsa but I LOVED their salsa. I would come back for this alone. Ordered the quesabirria tacos and kala burrito, both were huge portions of food and tasted amazing. Some of the best chain mexican food imo. Will happily be returning. read more

Came here for my birthday dinner last night based on the great reviews here. Ambiance & service was great! Best part of the dinner was the chips & salsa. I ordered the salmon plate and the salmon was overcooked and was like salmon jerky. My daughter ordered 2 shrimp tacos but only ate one and didn't care for it. My husband had 2 carne asada tacos. He said they were good, not great. I don't think we'll be returning to this place again. Disappointed! read more

I just tried Kalaveras for the first time tonight. It's my new favorite Mexican place. The Fajitas (trio) were fantastic. Great flavor, the chicken and steak were tender, and large portions. I'll get a couple lunches out of my left overs. And the soft serve Margaritas... OMG... Are the drink I didn't know I needed in my life. YUM! (It was the add on socials for those soft serve Margaritas that got me to try Kalaveras). Good service. Love the decor, and the patio seating. read more

Great atmosphere! Great music playing and plenty of TV's. Came here to see the Mexico game and it was lively. Ambiance: Not my kind of artwork, but festive for a Mexican Restaurant. Service: Angie or server was nice & friendly, however she didn't keep our tables clean and free from empty plates. Food/Drinks: Guacamole/Salsa and chips to start was not bad (could use more salt). Food was mediocre, chicken tacos came out hot but immediately turned cold. Chicken and cheese tasted old, but the ENCHILADAS DE MOLE were better. PINA CON CHILE margarita was the BEST!! Unfortunately, I won't be back. read more

Convenient location, with pretty good service, and a lovely ambiance. I liked my breakfast omelet but my friend's omelet was swimming in cheese. The chips were nice and fresh the salsa was good. A margarita flight was something I haven't tried before and loved 3 out of the 4 flavors - with hibiscus as my favorite fallowed by the cucumber. There was no wait and plenty of seating on a Sunday morning with a dog friendly outdoor patio and plenty of metered street parking (thats free on Sunday!) read more

A great location with a great concept. I met a friend for lunch on a Wednesday and it was relatively empty. We got seated right away and had fast service. Chips and salsa came out and was very tasty. I got the Mi Madre Salad with carne asada and really enjoyed it. It was discounted for lunch yet so much steak and salad that I took some home because I couldn't finish it. Great food, decent prices, great selection. Can't go wrong here. read more

Came to celebrate my friend's bday.. I had to try their albondiga soup.. she got the buffalo wings and wanted to load up on cocktails.. but it took 30 minutes to get our first round of cocktails.. service is friendly.. but so slow.. like molasses.. ambiance is really cool. Food.. well.. the wings are eh.. kinda small.. nothing spectacular there.. not feep fried or a crisp.. they use it the buffalo sauce straigh from a jar.. nothing unique done or worth trying again. Order the albondiga soup.. ive been here 45 minutes.. its not here.. 50 minutes later.. I just got my soup.. its essentially a tomato soup.. Campbell's latin cousin.. with chunks of tomato.. and 3 meatballs.m 2 were fused together.. I cant eat this.. tastes like tomato soup.m im no a fan of tomatoes .. id order something else but this took 40 minutes to arrive.. i rather buy a burger on the way home.. .bleh.. check please.. all done here.. i dont see myself coming back.. this is a place for loud boozing birthday shenanigans... Definitely loud for the fun youths.. Lord I asked for the check 10 minutes ago.. fml.. I just wanna go. Dont expect speedy service here.. I paid with cash she tried shorting me 20 dollars.. uhh no lady.. Your scowl deserves a zero dollar tip.. Nothing ruins a restaurant more that the RBF of your server read more

Decent food. Okay prices. Highly attentive server. The host staff seemed a little confused. Took us 10 minutes to get seated with plenty of open tables and wait staff. Hostess seemed a little put out to seat a group of four "old people" late 50s to mid 60s. Food was tasty, a tad bit pricey compared to what i was used to $25 for enchiladas de camaron (shrimp). Sever was excellent. Was a little soft spoken for the environment, but didn't seem to mind that we asked her to repeat read more

Really disappointed with our experience we came a little before 3. When there brunch ends and we knew exactly what we wanted. We asked if they were still doing bottomless mimosas and they said no. Which we were okay with but since they couldn't offer us that option we asked if it was possible to order a bottle of champagne with oj since they couldn't accommodate our bottomless mimosas even tho it was before 3 pm but they still wanted to charge for Oj. If brunch says it ends at 3 I think they should have honored that. Seeing that the restaurant was pretty empty. My husband also wanted either posole or menudo which is on the brunch menu and when we asked the server what soups they served she only gave us the option of albondigas soup. I felt like our server rushed us. All around it wasn't a good experience . read more

The ambiance and essence of the restaurant is amazing. The food is very authentic and fresh. We came in for happy hour and got the frozen marg, not very strong but tasty. The Birria tacos were delicious and flavorful. The carve asada fries a bit lack luster in comparison but the beef was very flavorful. Amazing salsa and guac. Would come back read more

Food is great! Ask for anything with the Carne asada it's so tender & marinated to perfection but honestly, the show was stolen by our waiter Oscar. Oscar provided amazing customer service from start to finish! He was attentive, friendly, & made sure to check on us throughout our meal to see if we needed anything. It's clear he genuinely cares about his customers & made our experience even better. Great service, great attitude--I definitely recommend asking for Oscar if you visit & if Raymundo is here ask for him too! He's such a sweetheart & also very attentive! read more

Good for, amazing service and great ambience! I can't wait to come back again in here and try other food!

Lunch is not recommended. Went for lunch with friends. Not a good experience. Not busy. Service spotty. Several wait staff asked if we had been served or want drinks. Requested menus twice. Requested water twice. Asked if we would like anything else I mentioned that I had not received my order...yet. She retrieved it. It had been waiting. Not chips and salsa were ever provided. The food is marginal. The taco special is actually a do it yourself buffet of small street tacos. The meat is dry. Parking can be challenging. Street parking and a small pay lot near by. I will not return for a fourth try. read more

This is my second time going to Kalaveras first time I came was because I had to stay in San Pedro for an event. When I walked in I noticed that the ambience was good but the food seemed to be barley warm especially the burritos the sushi was good though that's a plus we said we wouldn't go here again but we came back and round two was the same like during round 1 there was barley enough staff so our services delayed such as us getting a seat and getting an waiter when we sat down we didn't get our complimentary chips and salsa that everyone got which was rude like did they forget about us which is crazy since we spent so much money here and went here twice. read more

I pass by this place all the time so I finally decided to try their $1.99 taco Tuesday. The tacos were sooo small, you'd have to eat at least 5 to even get full. I also looked at their regular menu and their selections were very pricey so I wasn't impressed at all and will not be going back there. read more

Happy hour menu is where it's at. The first carne asada loaded fries were delicious but the second one we got later on were not good (only reason for the 4 stars). Not pictured are the pitchers of margaritas we ordered (strawberry and pineapple) that were so delicious and strong. Service was a little slow but very nice. They were slammed and obviously under staffed so we didn't mind plus the drinks were strong. read more

Kalaveras is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. It's a great spot for casual dining and good drinks. I've come both on the weekend and during the work week and haven't had any issues getting a table. During this visit, I ordered the Kala burrito lunch special. It's $3 less than the dinner price, and it includes diablo sauce and a side of beans. The Kala burrito is one of my favorite items on the menu. It comes with the option of beef or chicken, and there's french fries in it! I really like their quesa birria tacos and regular tacos, too. read more

This is my second time trying to place. It's not bad. The overall menu is pretty small. And I ordered off the happy hour menu yesterday. I had the queso video tacos. They weren't bad. I could've used some onions and cilantro. We ordered a sale for our baby Girl. She only ate the chicken. The vinaigrette had a odd taste. and my honey ordered the Asada fries and the fries reminded me of Wienerschnitzel fries. Not a great quality. I also had one margarita which wasn't bad. It was two dollars off for happy hour times. The service wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. I do love the ambience in the music. my total was just shy of $60. I feel like I could've gotten better food for that price in all honesty. read more

Went for taco Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised. Taco Tuesday consist of all their tacos being $1.49 except for the seafood. You place an order for the amount of tacos you want and then you go inside and they have a taco bar where they give you the meat and you put your own toppings. The Barbacoa and Asada were really tasty and you can't go wrong at that price. They also have a great happy hour menu, I got the queso Birria and it was pretty dang good and the right proportion for a single person. Margaritas are on happy hour as well and I got the cucumber and it is the best. I highly suggest it. Happy hours goes until 7pm and taco Tuesday is on Tuesday and they also have a margarita Monday. I went for a long stroll with my daughter and then we posted up here after and we both enjoyed ourselves. Shoutout to our waiter Edgar and the manager Sergio, both very kind! read more

So - sorry to give this review but we came in on 4/17/26. We came in first.. We waited to be seated only to be overlooked and told they will seat another couple that came after us. I'm not pulling a race card but they were a cute Hispanic couple. I'm very white and my husband is Mexican and she clearly focused on me. Rude- rude- rude - I left because of this horrible service. If your Hispanic you will definitely be treated well - so go here- If you are truly DEI- don't go.... They don't like Caucasians... read more
