    Calamari

We found this cozy little restaurant while visiting San Pedro last Friday. We wanted fish and this place ended up being perfect. We spent a while here, just enjoying the ambiance. We sat outdoors, and even though it was a hot day, a little breeze was coming up through South Shores. The bread that came with our pasta dishes was so good. The shrimp scampi I highly recommend the shrimp scampi, but beware it is enough for two people to share. The portions are very generous here from the 8 ounce wine pour to our appetizer of fried calamari - all was so generous and tasty. Our waitress Emily was very patient and kind courteous and professional.

This restaurant is located in the corner of a Vons strip mall. Not too crowded for brunch during the week. There's seating outdoors on the sidewalk. I sat indoors, in a booth. The place is not that large inside, and you do forget you're in a strip mall. Not much ambiance though. I ordered the fresh fruit waffle and coffee. The waffle came with fresh bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream. The waffle was a little chewy. No non dairy creamer available for coffee. Service was efficient.

Service was a wee bit slow, I believe if there is children at the table they should be served first. Our server served our drinks then my kids something with the food served our plates then the kids last. As far as the food goes the steak was super chewy and tough not even enjoyable. French toast was alright super sweet with sweet cream drizzle powered sugar just a little too much for breakfast. Maybe if you're just planning to get a basic eggs, bacon and potatoes go here.

The Seared Scallop dish was delicious, and as an appetizer I had the French Onion Soup!!! The service was amazing and the chefs prepared everything quickly!! Great spot to have our mini family reunion!

Came here with my family. We were a group of 12 with my aunts and cousins... The food was good overall. Everyone seemed happy with what they ordered. The appetizers were great. We had raw oysters, Rockefeller oysters and calamari. Some of the main course items were slightly salty. Oddly, the kitchen felt the need to draw Seaside on each plate. We did not really like the desserts. Desserts didn't really taste all that good. Our server was excellent. Overall we had a good time.

Love this place! Great service, food, atmosphere, everything. I had the french onion soup and french dip sandwich, it was really good. The soup had lots of cheese on it and the sandwich was perfect and very filling. I definitely plan on coming back!

    Very good cheese burger.

My sisters and I went there as I was craving a burger. My sisters recommended this place. We all ordered the burger during happy hour and got 40% off. The burgers were big, cheesy and juicy. The accompanying fries were very good. I would definitely go back.

Seafood Linguini- a great way to have a little bit of everything yummy! The shrimp were ginormous!

A quaint romantic spot with family vibes. Our server Melanie was friendly and knowledgeable she quickly explained the wine list and helped us identify a white wine we liked, an obvious pro! Delicious fresh bread when we sat down, we had the grilled artichoke, seafood linguini and cioppino. Food was outstanding and the linguini was a large enough portion that I had plenty of leftovers! First time there and we will be back to try the lunch menu! Thanks to the staff for making us feel very welcome.

COWABuNGA! We definitely found the hidden treasure in this seaside community! Seaside Bistro is truly a beach city eatery with a touch of class! When you first enter, there is an enclosed outside sitting area just in case your furbabies are joining you. The atmosphere is a casual beachy boutique vibe. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by a team member. Brian was the one that greeted us right away. A peek to the right shows a quaint lil bar with a variety of wines and adult sodas. The restaurant is very intimate and on the smaller side. The owners did a great job with placement, because it did not feel crowded at all! Patrons were constantly coming in and out. Our service professional was Carolina. She has such a great personality! She was very professional until I opened my mouth... After that, she matched my dorky vibe! We picked her brain for items to order. We didn't want to order items that we cook at home! We ordered the following; Medium rare steak sandwich on a roll smothered with mushrooms and garlic butter with a salad. This was 5 stars! Completely mouthwatering! The steak was well marinated and tender. It paired perfectly with the sauteed mushrooms in the soft warm roll. Chicken fried steak with crunchy hash browns, scrambled eggs with cheese and a well toasted English muffin. 5 stars again!!! The chicken fried steak was well seasoned and solid. It definitely was made with more meat than fillers (unlike other restaurants). The gravy tasted like actual country gravy and not salt. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and fully cooked. The eggs were made with beaters, so they were okay tasting but cooked right! The English muffins were buttered and grilled. So good! The mango mimosa was given a 4 by hubby. He said it needed more mango and needed to be chilled a bit more. The coffee? Definitely fresh and tasted like smooth coffee. Not one hint of bitterness and it wasn't watered down. As always, the icing on the cake is the service level and hilarious interaction with Carolina! Definitely a must for us to come back!

This has become go to place for French onion soup and French dip sandwich. The combination together cannot be beat. Also tried the barbecue chicken salad and clam chowder is also awesome. Great service nice happy hour and it's a nice small restaurant. Parking can be a little tight sometimes but worth it Nice patio dog friendly patio be heated

Had a bomb brunch here of steak and French toast. They were kind enough to let me order the steak even though it was still breakfast time. It was cooked perfectly and my son and I absolutely devoured it. The French toast was rich and delicious with lots of syrup. I'll def be coming back here!

Quite disappointed! The bartender got my drink order wrong and it took 10 minutes to get another bartender to correct the error. Then I ordered the Prime Rib Tacos and after 20 minutes of waiting they delivered Sliders. It took another 20 minutes to get the correct Taco order, so 40 minutes wait to get 3 tacos which were delivered cold! Then I bit onto a piece of Bone in a Taco and it feels like I cracked a tooth and am still in pain. I brought these problems up to the owner whom was not sympathetic at all. I showed him the chunk of bone and he told me that it couldn't have been in the taco unless the cook cut off the end of the bone. I told the owner that this would likely be my last time patronizing the restaurant, he then offered to buy me a drink if I return.

It is rare that an eatery can surprise me, especially when I have known them for decades. But J…read moreTrani's Ristorante certainly did just that--- surprise me, in a good way. So I am a big food giver, it is how I show appreciation because when I want to thank someone, I want their belly to feel it. And this place has this really good Sunday Sauce plate, that I just know as their short rib plate. Like one time, I took it to a former colleague that I kinda wanted to make happy, cause of how they made me feel, and he warmed it up in the microwave. And it was not like microwaving fish, it was quite the opposite. Instead of pungent odor, the dish infused the small kitchenette with a wafting aroma, that almost felt like a morning after hug. It made everyone who wifed it, wonder who and what introduced good eats to another wise basic break-room. More broadly, I have never eaten anything at J Trani's that I have felt bad about buying. At least not that I can recall readily, which means that they have not seared a bad experience in my mind, which, is great flowers given to offer them considering that I have been coming to this place, time and again, for decades. Now the question becomes how they surprised me, when I know them to be a good spot consistently? So I called because I wanted to get a pizza for a guy I wanted to thank. And, they read me their pizza list and my bells, that signal positive experiences, went off. I heard sweet corn. And sweet corn is an ingredient I love by name. So I got the bacon and corn pizza, and also, I tried to explain the dish I wanted, remember I do not know it by Sunday Sauce. The person answering the phone, I forgot her name, explained that the Sunday sauce was their short rib plate. But instead of ordering there, I was like I'll just go so I can peruse the menu, Seconds later she called me back. I thought she was going to try to explain more to me, but I had made my mind up I wanted to see the menu. I was a smidge irked, I will not lie, I just did not want to continue the conversation after I had made my mind. So I picked up and she explained that she could text me the menu. And she did just that, the picture shows is the proof. Wow--- this was excellent service, not because they went the extra mile--- which they did- but because they centered my expectations, without me knowing it I had that expectation. They could have said, review the menu online, which I was not going to do. I was going to go and wait, which I could do, but it has its elements of a drag quotient. Instead, with the menu, in hand (well sort-of) was able to make the right choices for me. And She specifically told me that the order was going to take 25 minutes. This was the cherry tomato on top of the Burrata salad---- my whole experience was handled by the restaurant when I was not there. I got there and I had to wait a few minutes for my order to be packaged. As I waited, I heard a traditional mom and pop, and kid family unit discuss the choices the kid had made. The dad, I heard, say something like, I would have never, spoken to my dad like this when I was young, I do not want to here anymore from you. I heard this interaction, and kind of was glad because it gave me something to chew on (my thoughts). I wondered what the kid did and how I would handle the discipline? I also thought that some people still practice the stale or maybe fresh axiom of: Children should be seen not heard? The pizza was fantastic. I had a slice the next day for breakfast, and the bacon was crunch, the taste of corn was heavily present, and in short, it was a delicacy on my commute to work.

My friends frequent it often and really enjoy it, so I had high hopes. For me, it was good... but not quite crave-worthy. The garlic bread was basic. Nothing bad about it, just nothing that made me think about it afterward. The truffle carbonara had solid flavor, but it was very rich -- a small portion was more than enough for me. The Caesar salad was fresh, though a little heavy on the pepper for my liking. The Chicken Madeira was good -- juicy chicken and a flavorful sauce, though it leaned slightly sweet. To be fair, I don't order Chicken Madeira often and I split it with a friend, so my knowledge on the dish is mediocre. Overall, everything else seemed solid. A few people at our table ordered the ribeye, and the swordfish and I have to admit -- it looked delicious. I'm not writing this place off. I'll definitely be back to try that ribeye.

If you pass it and pull into the next lot, it locks you in and does not connect to the restaurant and you'll then need to turn around pull out then get back onto Sepulveda, turn right onto Crenshaw and then reach the San Franciscan parking lot from the back or if confused you get back onto Sepulveda from there and try to park again and not miss the correct parking position of their parking lot.

She was right, 2 taco plates for $25. Three generous size tacos and chips. I had the baja fish and he had the shrimp tacos. We had great service from Alex and were excited to dine there again as this is 5 minutes from our house. We went back a week or so later on a Thursday night, we were seated promptly and then we waited for over 20 minutes to be acknowledged, offered water or to place our order. Instead we watched the server clean tables (there were plenty available), chit chat with staff at the bar and be in the kitchen for quite a period of time. No "I'll be right with you - nothing". We were ready to get up and leave and he finally came by to see what we wanted to drink. We decided to place our order because who knows when he would be back. I had the BBQ Chicken Salad which was delicious, he had a burger which was meh. The broiche bun was dry and was unbalanced (the top was thick and the bottom barely there) which made it fall apart when you ate it. I'm not sure that we are willing to give it another try with so many other great choices nearby. We tried......

This place did not merely have the ingredients - it had the reverence. Justin mixed it with the calm precision of a man who understands that some drinks are not trends, but traditions. "Ah yes... the Rusty Nail," say some. "Old, Archaic, Weathered," say others. Let them speak. It is one of the oldest cocktails in recorded history. Gifted by Bonnie Prince Charlie to Clan McKinnon, Drambuie has been cherished and revered in the Highlands since the mists of time gathered - borne through glens, over bens, and carried through generations of clansmen. It is not for the timid. It is for those who have watched storms roll in, seen vast armies gather, and still laughed in the face of death - because they know that their bloodlines are carved from stone. For after all - The strength, courage, and battle across centuries cannot be wrong. Drambuie warms this Highlander's heart . Sweet as legend, fierce as loyalty - akin to firelight of a distant hall hidden in misty glens. Aye... the Rising of the '45 is a tale for another night. But this night belongs to the Rusty Nail.

Different story for another day. Friend and I looking for dinner. Feeling steak. I always feel like steak. Few options but no reservations available. Ended up here because when I called, reservations available but not until 8 PM but was told bar seating without reservations still offers the full menu. Done. Lots of parking. Free. The evening just kept getting better. Walked in - beeline to the bar. Seats available. See previous comment about the evening just kept ... Great service. Friendly. Funny. Attentive. The bartender/server made sure my friend and I had an awesome experience. The food - went old school with a shrimp cocktail and a steak with rice pilaf. Washed it down with an Old Fashioned along with a pour of Rye to go with the steak. Topped it off with Bread Pudding. I rolled out fat and happy. Met a regular and had an awesome exchange about life and state of the world. I'd go back to just hang with her even though I don't live in the area. Maybe even stick around for the live music. My friend and I took off as the band was setting up. I didn't talk much about the food and touched on everything because for me, it wasn't just about the food (which was awesome) but everything. The experience as a whole was excellent. I wouldn't change anything about it.
