Great little local diner After two cups of decent coffee, still didn't have a true breakfast. So I went to the closest place that offered some breakfast fare and this place popped up. It's a very small diner lodged in the middle of two other buildings in the same strip. The chef asked me to sit anywhere and I took a seat in the middle of their hallway seating. Their menu is extensive, going over many dishes and styles. Flustered with choice, I asked if they had an avocado toast and they mentioned they had one as a special. I ordered that and waited. This specific spot has a strong local focus. Lots of regulars funneled in and took their normal seats. Lots of friendly banter and casual conversation between the staff and customers. You get a sense of the community with this place, which is a nice touch. For my avocado toast in LA, took a bite and was underwhelmed. Wasn't bad, avocado was fresh and there was a good crisp to the bread and a good amount of garlic. Eggs were seasoned and runny, and as a breakfast dish it was done well. But it wasn't amazing. It was good, just not stellar. It's clear that they do good work, and they got a dedicated crowd so their consistency is on point. But this did not wow me, it was just a well executed avocado toast. Price was high for the dish, that was expected though. Staff was great, food was good, just not much to want me to rave about it. It's a better breakfast spot than the hotels in the area, good if you're in the area but not trek worthy.

My husband and I did a back to back cruise and decided to take a walk to this restaurant after we disembarked and before we boarded again. A friend joined us, and it was about a 20-minute walk from the cruise port. We shared the Corned Beef Hash, which came with two eggs, home fried potatoes, and toast. Our friend ordered a Biscuit and Gravy and eggs. Everything was absolutely delicious! In fact, our friend stayed on the ship for another cruise and went back to Happy Diner again. We will definitely go back again. I highly recommend stopping by if you are ever in the area!

Oh boy, where do I begin? I was here, just recently having lunch with my mom before our cruise. The service was very friendly, welcoming, and had a very homey environment around it. My mom ordered the soup of the day, while I have their biscuit and gravy scramble. Everything, was worth every bite. If I'm ever in this area again, I will definitely be coming back. Enough said.

Party of 6, greeted immediately by a hostess and sat us down. Friendly, clean, great breakfast choices. Very reasonably priced, good coffee too!

SO good! My husband and I shared an Azteca Omelette with corn tortilla and potatoes. The carnitas is made in house (the sauces are too). So moist and flavorful. The salsa had the right amount of heat and lovely texture. Just a hint of cheese. The cactus added a different texture and mild flavor. It was amazing! And so was the service. Our server even brought our order out on two separate plates without being asked to. Everyone was so nice. When we go to diners we love sitting inside...and there was awesome energy here. Great breakfast!

Stopped in for breakfast and had a really good experience. Parking lot is a little tricky because it always seems to be packed. I ordered the veggie omelette with hash browns, corn tortilla, and a glass of orange juice. Everything was fresh and cooked just right. The omelette was packed with vegetables and topped with Jack cheese. It wasn't overly greasy, which I appreciate. Hash browns had a nice crisp on the outside and the corn tortilla was a great touch. Orange juice tasted freshly squeezed. Service was friendly and quick, and the place had a relaxed, local feel. Definitely a solid spot for breakfast if you're in the area.

Cute little hole in the wall place in San Pedro. They have indoor and sidewalk seating but super busy when my coworker and I came by. It was super busy so we got our food to go. Prices were decent for the area. I paid $10.90 for a BLT and side of fries. Food came out pretty fast as well.

Consistent quality is key for any service to a customer. Long time customer, fortunate lately quality has been absent. Purchase the breakfast this morning and received burnt potatoes.

I ordered Biscuit and gravy , the chef needs to taste his creations because mine was tasteless flour stuff. It was apparent that no bacon anything flavored the gravy , the biscuits were tasteless too even after doctoring it with Hot sauce / pepper and salt that can be saved. Something so simple to make also so simple to not care. Horrible

This is your classic little diner. Nothing crazy. Food is solid and the coffee keeps flowing. I don't even remember what I had but I think they had a special on breakfast tacos or something like that.

I loved this place! It's like a hole in the wall with amazingly good food and lots to choose from. They serve a lot of breakfast food, burgers, salads, pasta, and Mexican food. We found this place by accident. We were at the Los Angeles Cruise Port but was there super early and couldn't check into our cruise. With time to kill and stomachs growling, we asked around if there was a place we can grab a quick bite to eat. All the locals pointed us to this restaurant. So, we decided to make the 20 min or about a mile, walk to the diner. I was kind of glad we were walking because I needed the exercise before getting ready to binge eat on the cruise. We got to the diner and I was surprised how many great options they have available. I looked around to other patrons and all their food looks so good. I couldn't decide so I finally settled on menudo and Chilaquiles, both were super good. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely make this a must to stop in. My cousins liked it so much, they went back after the cruise!

Let me start by saying it is rare these days to get Superb service and Great tasting food . Our waitress I believe her name was Maggie was very polite and informative on the specials of the day . Let alone her patients as the kids in our group ordered. And the food was delicious.

Pretty, pretty, pretty good. For the omelette, the hero was the avocado. The rich and creaminess texture from the avocado made the omelette that much more enjoyable. The toast was crunchy and buttery. The coffee was a nice medium roast. The home-fried potatoes were good. However, I prefer mine a little more crispier. Seating is available at the counter, booths and in the small patio area. Service was very friendly and prompt. There is a very small parking area. I opted to park in the residential area. TY for the owner's response. Definitely will be back to try a new meal. Kudos to the high commitment of the owner for customer satisfaction!

It's a classic diner type restaurant that serves good quality food at a reasonable price. It took me a minute to select an omelette since there were so many options on the menu. But I ultimately settled on the avocado, bacon, and cheese omelette. It came with home fried potatoes. The omelette, on its own, was pretty good. It was hearty and filling. However, when paired with their slightly spicy salsa (which doesn't come with the dish, but you can ask for), it was fantastic. Seriously, ask for the salsa. You'll thank me later. Can't say much about the home fried potatoes. The potatoes were good, but nothing special. The same can be said about the service. I don't have anything good or bad to say about it. The server did everything you would expect from a server, nothing more, nothing less. One note about this establishment before I conclude this review. They prefer cash. If you pay with a card, they will charge you an extra $1.50.

The partnership began in 2007, and continues today. Our location is located outdoors, opposite to the El loco Fresh mexican cantina. It is an a la carte menu, very focused on burgers, fries and shakes. I've never tried a burger from them on a ship, but decided to try an ice cream shake (since it's not offered at any of the complementary eating places). We were on a back to back cruise on the Navigator, so once we were back on the boat, waited till 11 am (when they opened) to get two shakes (oreo and strawberry). Normally $5.50 (non-alcoholic), any previous sailing customer (i.e. someone with at least one previous sailing on RC) will get two 50% 'coupons' for a shake. Everything onboard automatically gets charged a 18% gratuity, so total for each shake was $3.54 (including the LA tax since I got it while in port). Like everything else here, it gets charged to the room, being settled up right after we disembark. The shakes were handmade, using soft serve vanilla ice cream as the base. Oreo crumbles or strawberry syrup was added along with milk, to make a pretty decent shake. Enjoying it right now while writing this review when I still have cell service before we head back to Mexico.

And then this place popped up. Of course we were literally around the block from it beforehand. It's a cute little cafe nestled right among a cute little residential block. It's like a if you know you know type of place as it's not on a main street. Literally at the end of a block where's its basically homes. So a neighborhood cafe. There was plenty of seating as it was mid week during lunch time. We walked in which has an open concept with the wide window looking outside. There's a bar area with counter hi top seating and a nice patio out front with umbrellas covered tables. It was a little breezy but had to make do as we had the little pup with us. Checked in with one of the server which she informed us to have a seat anywhere we like. A good amount of the guest did occupied the patio seating which we did to as it was nice out when your in the sun but a little breezy. Menu wise, it's mainly breakfast and lunch. They only open till 3. We started off with the bubbly special which was a bottle and a juice. Can't have brunch without mimosas. For the price it was great, 21.00 I believe. Meal, they had a board right when you walked in with daily specials. We went with an order of the lobster omelette and the tri tip sandwich. Both on the special. It was between the lobster or Philly steak omelette which we were informed that lobster was a favorite among the guest. That was served with either house potatoes or hash browns and toast, biscuits. And the tri tip was with curly fries. Plus an order of onion rings to accompany the meal. Omelette was quite tasty as I wasn't quite sure with the ratio of lobster. Quite honestly, it was decent size chunks inside and a good amount of it. The hollandaise sauce added that extra touch to it. Everything was delicious. The tri tip sandwich itself was excellent. Served on a roll which was tasty and the sauce used was amazing. It just made everything work all together. Plus both the seasoned fried and onion rings were excellent. Both with a nice crunch to it. Service was excellent. Our waitress was a doll and the sweetest. Food was great and the mimosa's special was the finish touch to a nice brunch. The cafe itself was a cute addition to the neighborhood. Street parking along the front. Not sure if there's parking in the back. Overall, it was a great find and would definitely come back.

So this may have been my first (and last) breakfast here. My friend got the breakfast quesadilla, which was oozing with cheese--seemingly low-quality cheese, that gooey-looking kind. A little paltry for the price of $18. Why no beans on the side? I was considering the lobster omelette for a whopping $25 and the waiter raved about it and I let myself be persuaded. It was terrible! Drenched in a creepily orange supposed hollandaise (as we know, see photo, Hollandaise sauce is not meant to be orange), which looked like it was poured from a can. Thin and no lemon. Just some cheap flavoring. The waiter insisted that they had "made it this morning," so maybe they made it from a powder from a packet? I was starving so joylessly I ate nearly half of it and then subsisted on eating most of a generous serving of hash browns. Perhaps I was too timid. When the waiter did not offer any compensation, or to get me another plate of something else, I just dutifully sucked it up. Then he asked if we wanted coffee cake -- which should have been on the house, since he clearly realized I was not happy with the lousy omelette. If I'd not been with a person I was only meeting for the first time, I'd have been more plaintive, but I did not want to embarrass them -- they live in the area, and I do not. But just YUCK. When another friend joined us to sit and chat after our plates had been taken away he told us how he'd given up on this joint. I suggest something be done about the food quality and value.
