On this occasion, I ordered the Tavern Fish & Chips ($22). It is described as "Alaskan cod coated in a tempura beer batter and served with French fries, tartar sauce and yuzu herb coleslaw". The positives of this dish are that it was prepared well. Both the fish and chips tasted good. The presentation was also nice; which leads to the coleslaw: The coleslaw tasted good, too; but I was surprised the serving was so spare. It's almost as if it was served just to optically balance the presentation in the basket. (See photo shared,) And while the price was not unreasonable, feel it's creeping towards expensive (relative to serving size). I'll attribute this to rising input costs. Staffing might be an issue during the lunchtime service. Service was okay, but they seemed to be understaffed. It's possible that most of their business is done after 5pm.

I eat out all the time and have tried a lot of restaurants around LA, so I have a pretty good idea of what places in this category usually charge. For the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, Bazille is surprisingly affordable. It's not "cheap" food by any means -- it just feels like a really good value compared to similar restaurants. The service was just as impressive. Every single person we interacted with was professional, friendly and welcoming, from the hosts to our server.
