My daughter and I were cruising the mean streets of North Seattle the other day when we decided we were craving some sushi. We turned to our trusty Yelp app and found Nori Presto located not far from where we were. We arrived just before the lunch rush (yay!) and, while we were a bit dismayed to find out they are more of a teriyaki place that serves sushi rolls than an actual sushi bar, the tasty aromas wafting from the open kitchen were enough to convince us to stay. The gentleman who greeted us at the counter was super friendly! We decided to share a large (and wow, I do mean large) bento box plus we ordered a couple of extra rolls. It was MORE than enough food. In fact, it was so much food we could barely finish it and had to take the extra rolls home for dinner. We also very much enjoyed the free miso soup (available if you dine in). Extra kudos to the man at the register for noticing a math error in our tab and correcting it. Well this isnt the best place to eat sushi anymore the prices have went up so high I won't be a customer anymore for a couple pieces of thin sushi that used to be big thick pieces it's 10.99 that's crazy even downtown China town is cheaper. A family place that is very quick for pick up. In the beforetimes, I really enjoyed the free miso soup for dine in customers but it is still available for purchase with takeout orders. It is piping hot, which is very rare for take out soup. I almost always get tofu yakisoba and the tofu is fried really nicely. Having been here numerous times, I feel bad for not reviewing this place sooner. Located in Lake City, this charming little teriyaki place is definitely worth the stop. Why must you visit? 1. The food portion is generous. 2. Not only does quantity excel here, but quality is consistently yummy and good. 3. The staff is super friendly and will always greet you with a smile. 4. If you opt to dine in, freeeeee hot tea and miso soup (compared to nearby places, you would have to pay). Plus, the miso soup itself is always fresh and good without being too salty. As for food options, I am currently in love with the simple sushi rolls here. Be warned that there isn't too many options but whatever you pick, it's good. Got the spider roll a few times and man... It's delicious. Fresh and big like kimbap size, you'll get full off of this dish. As for other dishes, spicy yakisoba and anything tofu related is a solid choice. I love Nori, for what it is - everyday food; it's local and quick with a sweet staff - a way for me to get my avocado roll fix with miso soup while my "I only eat meat and bread" partner gets his teriyaki chicken. This small teriyaki spot has been here in Lake City since I can remember. My younger sister would go to gymnastics years ago close by and this would be the spot to get dinner after a long day. And then years had passed we stopped coming as often but my boyfriend used to live blocks away from here so I found myself coming back more often again. The owners are so sweet and welcoming. The food always tastes amazing. It's probably one of the best teriyaki places in Seattle actually. You never had to wait too long at all if you're dining in. There's plenty of seating and the restaurant itself is always clean. If you're getting your food to go you never wait longer than 5 minutes! This place is so popular too if you're coming in on a Friday night there will be tons of people waiting in line to order but like I said you never wait long for your food! We ordered from Nori Presto on Grubhub this evening. Overall our food was good. I loved the spicy chicken stir fry, and would absolutely order it again. My husband liked his pork Teriyaki with fried rice, though he said the teriyaki was a bit sweeter than he likes. He'd probably ask for the sauce on the side next time. I didn't care for the egg rolls. They weren't terrible, but I don't think I'll order them again. The restaurant had run out of brown rice and called to let me know and offer white rice instead. This little teriyaki place is in my neighborhood. I've driven by several times. I finally stopped by on the 4th day into my vegetarian diet. I was thinking about cheating and having some chicken teriyaki. But, I ended up getting tofu teriyaki.I didn't know what to expect. It's like a fast food restaurant place. You order your food and either take out or eat there. I chose to take out since I live not too far from it. There were loads of rice and a lot of tofu. And, there's one serving of salad (ice burger lettuce with miso mayo). Tofu were pan-fried first with some teriyaki sauce on top of it. The serving size was big, but the flavor was just ok. After I ate all the tofu and salad, I was able to make fried rice from the leftover rice the next day. read more

Pretty good. Stopped by to grab some lunnch togo. The inside is actually a bit bigger and nicer than I expected, so it'd be good to dine in too. Grabbed the combo chicken and beef teriyaki togo. No rice. Xtra salad. The service was friendly and efficient. I was happy when I got home, I'm actually not a big teriyaki fan at all, I never crave teriyaki...but I did today. The quality of meat at Nori is higher than normal and the sauce is more savory rather than the typical overly sweet teriyaki seasoning. You could tell the meat was marinated versus having the sauce just poured on top. I also liked the dressing that came with the salad, once again, less sweet than more. Portion wise, it's good, I have left overs enough for another meal. Price wise- a bit higher than normal, but the quality of meat makes up for it. $8.99 + tax for the chicken n beef combo. While the chicken wasn't fatty the flavor tasted a tad off to me to me which is why I can't quite give them 4 stars. I'm not sure if it was the chicken or the sauce but I think it was the chicken. Sushi is WAY TOO BIG! Unless you're Mick Jagger or Steven Tyler.... I had to put that first thing because if you're looking for sushi, these guys really need to get their act together. Take a look at the pics I've posted and you'll see what I mean. For a spider roll, without exaggeration, each piece had the diameter close to that of a tennis ball and 4 slices of avocado. WTF?! Now that we got that out of the way, I have to say this place is pretty great overall. If you dine in there's free miso and tea. The food is really delicious (even the massive sushi had good flavor and ingredients). Their portions are very generous and there are a lot of menu option. I have seen in other pics that different rolls (like those that come in bento boxes) are of a more reasonable size but something has to be done about the consistency on the rolls there because the others are impossible to eat properly. read more

Huge portions, the small bento box is easily two meals in one. I love that they're very flexible with the contents of the bentos. Vegetarian bento? No problem. Pescatarian bento? Sure thing. And they're always super nice too. the friendliest counter people in the city. The food is good too. Most places serve up a dull steamed tofu with a dollop of sauce. Not these guys, Tofu is seasoned and grilled really nicely so it actually has some flavor and it's finished with a nice glaze of the sauce. It couldn't be better. I paid $13 and ordered the small bento. The california roll was sloppy and small. The chicken was cold/warm, dry looking, and not appetizing at all. Much smaller portion. It's usually not like that (I've been here 20+ times). Based on my prior experience, I decided to ask them why was the chicken cold/warm? This is not okay. The man told me, "okay, you're exaggerating a little. The chicken just came off the grill." No, if that was the case it would have been (hot) and not cold/warm. After hearing this, I decided to turn around and walk out the door. This is when the man immediately offered to throw some chicken on the grill, but I politely declined. I guess they tried, but I walked out. Most places cook a huge batch of chicken before hand. Store it in the fridge. Then they grill it for you when you order it. Gives it the grilled flavor. Nori Presto is your typical Japanense teriyaki joint, with some selection of Americanized Chinese dishes. I ordered the Mongolian beef to test the quality of these Chinese dishes, and my boyfriend ordered a more standard Teriyaki Chicken with Gyoza plate. You are offered miso soup to dish up for yourself as you wait for your food to come out, which I found to be a very nice touch. The soup was pretty typical, but warm and was nice while you waited for your meal. The place itself is fairly small, and it seems most order for take out. We opted to dine in, although there is no waiter service. When your food is done the lady at the front will bring your dishes out, but you must service your own table and drinks. I don't mind this and I find it pretty common at places like this so nothing negative to say here. The portions were HUGE! Everything came with a the miso soup, small side salad, 1-2 scoops rice and whatever dish you ordered. My "Mongolian" Beef was actually very good, but unusual. There were zucchini, broccoli, onions and carrots included which was not standard for monolgian. The sauce was also different, but very good. I was very pleasantly surprised with this dish considering how atypical everything was. I would definitely be ordering this again. My boyfriend's teriyaki was more standard. Again huge portions and very good. I do not live in this area so it's not convenient, but if I lived close honestly I would probably order take out from Nori Presto every week. The dishes were so big and cheap, and there's enough selection to choose from to keep me happy. There is easy parking right in front, and if the lot is full you can always park at the next door safeway for a few minutes. Great teriyaki -- one of our favorites in the area. Flavors are always consistent, quality of the meat is good, portions are generous. They have a delicious spicy version of their teriyaki, too. Great go-to option if you live in this area. Marking off one star because the restaurant is really, really dirty. Walls need to be scrubbed, dust everywhere, the kitchen is dirty. I am new to Seattle. That being said I've had Teriyaki in Japan, but this is very different, and as I understand, that's intentional. We had spicy and traditional, both were excellent, the rice was cooked well and the servings are ridiculously large. Food was super fast, staff was friendly. I struggle to find something not to like. After trying various teriyaki places in the area (Manna Teriyaki, Nasai Teriyaki, Teriyaki Time, and Senor Teriyaki) I can say for certain that Nori Presto continues to be my favorite and go-to spot for delicious teriyaki. Why? Because their teriyaki sauce is tasty and sweet, their meats are moist and fatty (I normally get the kalbi ribs and beef teriyaki), and the service is fast. Their gyoza is crispy even when I take my food to-go and the sauce for that is also flavorful. My order is always right, and I'm never disappointed. I was out test driving a 1984 vw diesel rabbit with my mom, my sister and my girlfriend. I wanted to test its weight capacity and how it drove with a full load. It seemed to drive fine, but, what if we all ate some chinese/teriyaki and then drove around a bit. Well, a quick search on the yelp app and this spot came up as not far from us, so we puttered over and ordered our food. The coolest thing about this place is the "help yourself" miso soup. And boy was it tasty! The lady helping us was super helpful and we all had our food quickly. The food itself was awesome and the helpings were plentiful. Which is a good thing, my goal here was to really make sure this car could handle a full car load of people with full stomachs. So we all finished up and then got back on the road.
