I now have rather high standards for teriyaki now that I am obsessed with Nasai Teriyaki on 145th. Nori Presto was fine and did the job, but it just wasn't outstanding. The teriyaki sauce was thicker than what I'm used to, and the spicy chicken teriyaki was not spicy at all. However, the BF's katsu was delicious and very well coated with Panko. This place is run by a super sweet lady who was very accommodating even when we came in half an hour to closing, and pointed out that there was free miso soup if you dine in. read more

This is a cute little ma and pa shop located in Lake City area. Yeah, the place is very quaint and traditional- but, the service here was phenomenal. The woman working was SO kind and hospitable. I asked her which was better: the tofu veggie stir fry or the sesame tofu, and she told me she preferred the veggie tofu stir fry but then while I was eating, she made me samples of sesame tofu!!! So sweet. They also offer complimentary miso soup. For 2 meals, I paid about $22.00. Not too bad, they were big portions. I'm definitely coming back when I need some comfort food. They also do self bussing, but I don't mind because they offer a compost, recycle, and trash :D read more

I've always order to go here, and enjoy the free miso soup that is offered while I wait. Usually get the small bento - Which comes with a lot of chicken/rice with gyoza, salad, and California rolls. Nori Presto is super convenient to us and it's good. The portions are huge and prices aren't bad. If you dine in you get free miso soup while you wait for your order! Honestly, this is your standard teriyaki place, nothing out of the ordinary. The food is good though and we can always count of them for large portions with a decent price. The chicken is great, I like their gyoza and tempura. The California roll is OK, but we don't come here for the rolls. The lady that greeted me and took my order was very nice. she was even able to tell me what kind of dressing they put on the salad. I ended up paying $15 for the special of the day (chicken teriyaki with an eggroll) and I got fried rice instead of white (+2.99) and extra meat (+$2) so it's not super cheap at all. but it does come with some miso soup while you wait. the miso soup was good. simple and warm. the eggroll was small buy it was fresh and crisp. the chicken was tender and not smothered in sauce, which is good as I don't like a lot of sauce. the side salad was packed WITH the meat and such so by the time I got home it was wilted and useless. i did try some before i left and the honey mustard dressing was good but should have been packed on the side and the salad should be in a separate container so it doesn't wilt. the fried rice was not good. it is a veggie fried rice ( or at least I haven't found any meat yet) and it seemed like they just took some frozen peas,carrots, and corn and sautéed it with some sauce. the sauce on it wasn't very flavorful and caused the rice to become one blob of rice. all in all I could see trying them again without getting any fried rice. that really killed it... read more

The food is decent, but the man that works up front puts a bad taste for Nori Presto. I don't know what most of these reviews are talking about with the 5 stars. But I've been to cheaper and better teriyaki places with better customer service. The worse part about it, was I asked if it was possible to do a kalbi and gyoza combo and he rudely said no without a good explanation. I work in the restaurant industry and been into teriyaki restaurants that could've easily done it with a minimum fee. And it's always right to satisfy the customer if it could be easily done. I think one thing that has to be clarified some some... This is NOT Japanese cuisine. This is Teriyaki... And it's pretty damn good. I believe in reviewing a place for what it is... I wouldn't hold a gyro hut to the same standard as a five star dining environment. With that said, Nori Presto does the trick when you crave a teriyaki lunch. I couldn't believe the quantify of food we got! I ordered one of the specials - Teriyaki Chicken + eggroll for $5.99, friend ordered Beef Yakisoba for $7.79. When our plates arrived all I could say was: "Whoa". The freaking plates were overflowing. The Yakisoba was an enormous mound of beefy noodley goodness PLUS rice. Mine came with salad and TWO scoops of rice! Everything was piping hot (made to order, not sitting around in a giant steam tray in back), both meats were tender, and my eggroll was pretty tasty with some ground chicken inside not just bean threads and veggies. The quantity of leftovers was enough for each of us to have at least another lunch if not 2. Free Miso Soup if you eat there! We pretty lucky in that we live right down the street from this place. I love my Teriyaki joints, and this once is a good one. Big portions, freshly made food. Our favorite is the Large Bento since it turns into 2 meals for us. I've also had the Chicken Katsu and it's legit. Big chicken cutlet, with your typical katsu sauce on the side. Presto! Spice makes everything sick nice. A real solution when the flu attacks served with some fried rice. A difficult price to ask as the additional tres dollars for grain upgrade was not met with the standard of quality that is frequently aligned when it comes to additional ingredients mashing. Teri-YUM! This place is grub. Exceptional Yakisoba, wonderful gyoza, and they have SUSHI! How can you go wrong? I haven't had any of the rolls but the ebi and sake ngiri was way better than it should have been. If you dine in you get free miso soup. The portions are large, there is adequate seating, and it is very fast. For anyone in the area looking to try a new teriyaki joint, it is the best I have been to in the area. One of the best I have ever been to. They have the bento box options so there is really more available than you should expect. See ya there. This place used to be one of my favorite teriyaki joints but they changed ownership a while back and it hasn't really been the same. The recipes stayed the same for the most part, but the portion sizes got smaller and the consistency of the food is not the same. I usually get the spicy chicken and it's pretty good but most recently it's been a bit dry the last couple times I've been there. I would generally say with the reduced portion sizes it's a bit overpriced but does the job when in need of a teriyaki fix. read more

Great food- But don't EVER go here close to closing- apparently they hate that. Well- Not sure where i sit with this anymore...James went there last night at 15 min. to closing for a last-minute craving for salmon rolls. First off, the sushi lady rolled her eyes at the fact that she was already cleaning her station. James decided to run to the movie store super quick so he informed the lady at the register and she said 'ok'. He came back at exactly 9:00, and they had already locked their doors and took off. WTF? So he had to go back their this morning to get his money back and a guy was working the counter. At first the guy wasn't happy about James' demands of a refund, but he told the guy that even though this happened, we still like their food, that's why we would keep coming back. Probably one of the most efficient use of my 7 minutes ever. I like their teriyaki. I had tried their Mongolian Chicken before, which did not taste that good. But compared to other teriyaki joints I have tried before, their teriyaki is definitely better. Unlike the other reviewers, I never experienced any problem with their customer service or anything. Very rarely, I feel like Yelp has failed me. Yelp, you've failed me. After seeing a 4 star review and craving some good Japanese food, I got take out from Nori Presto. First, the positives: -Very friendly staff -Customizable bentos More importantly, the negatives: -Extremely fishy salmon teriyaki - I took two bites and stopped eating. Fishy flavor = unfresh. -Flavorless, too-soft rice on an otherwise flavorless, uninspiring california roll -Decent miso, though watery tasting I basically spent ~$11 for a bento with salmon teriyaki, gyoza, salad and cali rolls, and only ate the gyoza (standard, nothing special) Total waste of my time. I can't believe this is considered good quality Japanese food (or even average Japanese food) - I have to believe I must have come on an extreme off day. Regardless, I won't be returning. read more

There's also complementary miso soup and tea for those who are waiting for their food. For me, the best part are the food portions! This place is simply the best teriyaki I have ever had. I have been coming here since 2007 when I was in high school, and it has AT LEAST maintained its quality over the years (and probably gotten better). I always get their spicy chicken, which is their best offering (according to none other than me). It is tender, hot, and the perfect amount of spicy. It also doesn't taste like Korean, or any other kind, of barbecue, unlike many other teriyaki places' spicy chicken. Then there's the owner and her husband. They have kept the place humming along, and have only made the interior more pleasant over the years. She is one of the most friendly people I have ever met, and has always greeted me with a large smile and a loud hello from behind the register. Must try if you're a teriyaki person. I also forgot to mention that their teriyaki sauce (in a bottle on every table) is FANTASTIC on rice, and their salad dressing is great as well (my friend always gets extra to put on his rice) read more

I was really excited to try this place: it's got teriyaki (which my boyfriend loves), sushi (which I have recently begun loving) and is within walking distance (which everyone loves). I had a chance to try it last week, and my experience was limited... ...because they were out of salmon nigiri. Yeah, seriously. I was so disappointed. On the other hand, thier tuna was pretty good and my friend really liked her...erm...California roles. My boyfriend loved his teriyaki - and he rarely *loves* most teriyaki - and the service was fast and friendly. Their prices? Average. I guess it was worth the money to eat at Nori Presto, but they won't be the first place I think of when I've got a hankering for sushi. EDIT: Okay, now I can say that I've had their teriyaki, as well as the salmon nigiri, and am adding another "star" to this review. Their meat is definitely fresh, and of high quality - unlike a few other places I've tried - and you get free miso soup if you dine in.
