Beautiful and delicious cakes and good coffee. Conformable setting and friendly service. Will definitely go back!

Pain Suisse (or as they called Pain Chocolat.) good
Glenn C.

I stopped in here for a pastry a couple weeks ago shortly before going to the fantastic Abuqir nearby. As per most of the other places on the block, the people working here speak Arabic also. I got a chocolate pastry which the woman called a pain chocolat though in terms of texture/shape, it really a pain suisse (sans custard.) It was pretty cheap (3 maybe) and quite tasty. Good amount of chocolate and nice buttery pastry. My only issue with the place is the one noted by a couple others that the person in here doesn't wear a mask properly. Outside of this pastry, they had a mix of other French pastries here including some good looking tarts and other related goods. Mid 3 though I'll lower due to the cleanliness.

The desserts here are amazing and I come here for the Mille feuille because it is so delicious but the service sucksssss! It's terrible. I came here from California just to get a piece of mille feuille. The girl behind the counter was so rude. I asked her for a fork and she just pointed to an area behind me. No "thanks for coming in" no "how can I help you" when I walked in. The bathroom is gross: no toilet paper, no soap (which is incredibly important all the time but especially during COVID-19). This has been my favorite place to stop by because the desserts are so good but they really need to get their act together

Ahhh yes...French-Moroccan pastries. For me, the best of the best sweets. Beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. Just simply amazing..... Location- off Astoria in Queens New York. The cute little hole in the wall quaint place is a hidden gem. The area around is not too overly crowded. Interior- simple, a bit small but cozy. Great for small chat or hanging out with friends. An intimate and quaint vibe. Again, fancy name but interior super simple. The pastries- oh yes! Beautiful to look at and super fresh. Compliments to the pastry chef on such beautiful displays. There were so many to choose from but I ended up getting the Mille feuille and coconut slice custard. Very soft and fresh. You can tell that everything was just made that same day. Not over powering sweet just right. The coconut was not overdone with coconut crumbles. It was just right. This is a real gem. If you love sweets. This is definitely the place to go.

Went there last night. The girl working there didn't even speak enough English. She didn't even understand hazel nuts. Every time my husband asked questions about their pastries, she just ignored. I bought Madeleine but it had hair in side Gross.

If you're craving for some unique desserts, try this spot! Hits straight to your heart! Loved Opera the best!

Not accommodating for customers with stroller, or disabled people in my opinion. Only a thought though :)

Only had a quick stop off here while I was around Astoria, just off of Steinway on 30th ave so it was easily accessible, nice and homey on the inside. **Not suitable for babies in strollers though, watch your step coming in too =.=" The average price of the French pastries was cheaper than most places. From what I glimpsed in the display, there were plenty of (quite colourful) choices catering to any and all sweet-tooth craving. I had tried the Praline cake and at only $4 was a very good deal for the size. The slice wasn't overly sweet, you could taste the hazelnut element through the cream, the sponge was very soft, good ratio of sponge and cream layers. It didn't leave that 'heavy' feeling in your stomach but satisfied my craving. Husband's thoughts (yes I shared :D) - Had given it a 9/10 and he can be quite specific, so that's a testament in itself. In saying this, he did think the cafe was in need of a serious facelift as it's a bit dated. Wife's thoughts - I ate it before I could take a picture.....That says everything haha! The only con, I wish there was more! I look forward to trying their other selections and also their coffee, hopefully dining in as it looked pleasant inside. *promises to take photos next time* UPDATE: had their chocolate croissant, latte, royal chocolate cake and chocolate au pain (?). The latte was HUGE at $4, you could add syrups if you please. The chocolate croissant was a bit hard but enjoyable. The chocolat au pain had a velvety custardy taste, very nice! The royal chocolate cake was silky, once again noisette has achieved balance with flavour profiles of the different layers. Before we left, I eyed some humongous brownies (the size of my head) by the front counter for $3!!! Get to them before I do!!! Haha :) Happy eating :D

Mini fruit tarts

I've been next door to my favorite seafood restaurant plenty of times, but I've never noticed this pastry shop. After experiencing an amazing meal at my seafood spot, I thought about the "after party" my tastebuds would have after some pastries. We walked into the traditional looking pastry shop. We were greeted by pleasant workers, which almost transported me to France. One of the workers spoke French, which was really cool. She was learning English! We ordered about 6 mini fruit tarts! We walked out and actually began eating outside the door. We almost turned around to grab more! We were too stuffed to actually do it though. The fruit tarts were really good, the bottom pastry was flaky and buttery, the fruit was fresh and sweet, and the fruit jelly was so good and not too sweet. We really enjoyed this pastry and wish we had more. Can't wait to pass this gem again. Really great pastry shop.

This is the best bakery I have ever been in. My favorite dessert is their creme puff and tiramisu. Their coffee and Moroccan mint tea is outstanding. If there is one reason I frequent Astoria, it's for this bakery!

To Laiko represents the kinds of Greek-owned businesses that are disappearing by the minute in Astoria. It just so happens that this one sells Greek pastries and coffee. While the outside awning notes "The Little Coffee Shop", to my understanding "To Laiko" means "The people's" in Greek. I'm not sure how long they've been around, but they've been a fixture for as long as I've stepped foot in the borough (#1). This has certainly been a place that has been for the people (#2), which is always a great sign. They're among the only folks to my knowledge that sell authentic bougatsa, a breakfast phyllo rich specialty pastry that skews sweet and is enjoyed best with tea and/or coffee. They also have an excellent selection of spanakopita, which is Greece's most famous pastry containing feta and spinach. (#3) The kasseri cheese pie is also not to be missed, along with koulouri (sesame circular bread rolls), savory pastries, and the occasional loukamade (aka Greek donut). Prices aren't back breaking, but they've crept up over the years. While I think they accept credit card, it's always best to go with cash here to avoid any upcharges. Service from Angela is sweet and cordial and I prefer getting a drink with several pies on the go since seating is minimal. My hope is that this review helps others find them, since this is a place not to be missed. I'll certainly make this a pit stop during my next return back to Queens. __________ (#1) So, 20 years at least. (#2) Of mostly Greek patrons. (#3) Yes, spinach pie.

Gold N Honey was the winner of my last stop destination and the final recommended visit of Jando S. I'd never had Loukoumades before, but they are essentially large donut holes. There are many different types of toppings you can add, most of which are quite appealing, but I went with the Gold N Cream, which had chocolate, bavarian cream and biscotti. Upon my first bite, I assumed I would only be able to eat a few of my box because of the aforementioned crazy eating before coming here. But as I kept going, I realized, somehow, these little delights were nowhere near as heavy and filling as they looked. And by the end of it, I suffered zero stomach-based consequences from my actions. This can only mean that loukoumades are extremely healthy and amazing for you. They're practically grilled chicken! The cold brew was fine - it got the job done and saved me from an epic food coma. And I got to try a new dessert, so everyone won on this day.

I've had my eye on this place for years - should have come here sooner…read more Black sesame basque cheesecake: my favorite of the 4 I tried. This is actually cheesecake rather than the lighter Japanese version, with a strong black sesame flavor. Hojicha creme brulee: this came as part of a promotion, and the taste is strong. They do brulee the top on the spot and my sugar top got a little too burnt. Oolong tea cheesecake: still good, would get this again still. Lighter flavor but the floral flavor does come out at the end of a bite. Coconut milk jelly: the lightest of the flavor but still sweet and flavorful enough to come through. There's a dusting of graham crackers and strawberry jelly to complement. We also got a hot matcha jasmine latte but it was actually cold. It seems like it normally comes iced and perhaps they have no way of warming up the jasmine part. There's a points program and tons of promotions that rotate. There have also been different desserts that rotate so I'll have to keep coming back to try more. They have a lunch special too where you can get a drink or dessert for less cost.
