I've ordered a lot of take out from this No Thai in the past year due to its convenient location, short wait time, and tasty food. The workers are not super friendly but they are helpful if anything is wrong. Which they have messed up orders a few times, but they are happy to remake them. The sweet and spicy chicken is my go to with a very large portion of chicken. The quality of chicken and the amount of sauce can be inconsistent, however it's still worth it. Got the drunken noodles with chicken in medium sauce. The scale skews a little mild, if you are used to eating spice can definitely "size up" so to speak. Noodles were the right texture if not a little too al dente, usually it's the opposite problem. Chicken and egg were fairly flavourful. Expect it to be salty. Service/Ambiance (2/5) - Came on St Patrick's Day so obviously the place was extremely crowded. Multiple people cut the lines brazenly and the staff didn't do anything about it, though not sure that it's their responsibility. Food comes out at normal pace, expect a 10-15 minute wait. They give you a little tag and then call the number when the order is done, at which point you have to fight through the sea of people to get to the front of the counter to get your plastic bagged up food. No Thai is a no go for me! It's a fast casual Thai restaurant where you get to choose your dish, protein, and spice level. My pad seeyu came out very quickly which was a plus, however it lacked in many other areas. My noodles were undercooked and had a rubbery consistency. The sauce was very runny and didn't have too much flavor besides a sweet overtone. There were way too many bean sprouts. No Thai is quite literally the college student staple, it's an average $10 for a decent meal. I don't think I've ever heard anyone specifically say that they find no thai particularly good, but the food isn't bad and it's quite customizable. At No Thai, there are several options for meat: beef, chicken, shrimp, and tofu. Shrimp costs an extra $1, and I've personally never had it. Their beef usually comes out a bit chewy and dry, so I recommend their chicken because it's less difficult to eat and cheaper than the shrimp. Spice level is also adjustable, but really thats entirely dependent on the chef. I've had medium spicier than their "dim mak" (their spiciest level). Their sweet and spicy chicken is really worth the price if you're willing to wait a bit; the chicken is fried and it always tastes amazing. For the right balance of veggies, carbs, and meat, I'd go with the potato curry because it literally has all that plus a nice sauce that goes well with rice. All in all, No Thai serves decent food that can be nutritious, but it's just not consistently good enough for me to give it more than 3 stars. Sometimes they forget to salt my food, or my food would come out very late if at all. They have great positives but also solid negatives too that make this a mediocre place. read more

Traditional flavors like lemon grass, coconut milk, and thai chilis were completely missing in my pad thai. Instead, my pad thai was just sweet and watery. I drenched my noodles with sriracha, but I think it made it worse. I asked for medium spice, and got flakes of black pepper. It's walking distance from the UMich campus and you get your food insanely quickly, making this a great spot to grab lunch in between classes. Although more limited and not as authentic as your typical Thai restaurant, I liked the simplicity and the ability to customize. I went with the Pad Thai Curry with tofu and the mild spice level. I have been going here for probably 10+ years, and it's my favorite place to order take out in Ann Arbor. 100% a high school staple. It's usually fast turnaround for ordering. I wouldn't recommend going into this expecting it to taste like traditional Thai food, because it isn't. It's like the chipotle of Mexican food. I think the price is pretty fair for the portion size, but they did increase it recently. The food is usually consistent, but tbh it's impossible to know how spicy it will be, because I think the cooks just estimate how much of the spice mix they put in each order and it varies person to person. I would probably say that's the biggest downside. I personally love it, and my favorite dish to order is potato curry with tofu. Although I will say the dish I think is lacking the most in flavor is the regular pad thai, I would rec the curry one. read more

It's no secret that Ann Arbor has very little quality Thai food. Now that Marnee closed for good, I think No Thai is the only restaurant that resembles Thai food on campus. Which is really unfortunate because Thai food is awesome and this place sucks. Their food is sort of in the vein of Thai food... But it tastes very watered down and extremely heavy/greasy. It's like the Panda Express of Thai food, fast and convenient but utterly bland, way too oily, and will make you feel gross after you eat it. Unlike Panda though, it isn't even good value-- there's hole in the wall Thai places near my hometown that give you more food and actually good quality at this price point. So what's the upside? It's fast, it's open late (better drunk food than Panchero's, at least?)... That's probably about it. No matter how hard you're craving Thai, just don't go here-- it's not worth it and it won't even scratch the Thai food itch. read more
