Very pleased with what I ordered to-go. Friendly service upon pick up of: Pad Thai (chicken) and Basil fried (chicken). Containers were PACKED with incredible food. Pad Thai was great- noodles and chicken perfectly cooked, and the flavor was on point. Basil Fried Rice was also great- rice was cooked perfectly and the taste was on point. The jalapeño that comes standard in this dish was an incredible touch that all BFR should have. read more

I am so happy that Mr. Thai is dine in once again. The owners have changed, but don't worry it is the same family. I started my new Years the right way. Penang stir fry, shrimp rolls, soup and a special peanut salad. Everything was so fresh and amazing. The Penang curry was spicy and super flavorful. The Shrimp rolls were crispy and served with the traditional sauce. The new Salad with peanut sauce tasted like the OG Penang curry with a coolness, give it a try. The inside is updated and looking fresh. Please give this spot a try once again or if you have never been, come by. read more

Very happy to have rounds this place! The food was some of the best Thai around. Great fried rice, had the basil stir fry and spring rolls. All delicious. And the staff is beyond friendly, attentive and very gracious. Make this your regular Thai food spot! read more

Very authentic panang dish. First time and will definitely be back. Service was excellent as well.

Best service and Thai food in the area. Guaranteed. The lady that serves us is so sweet. We have been coming back since our first visit and will be back again. read more

Second time we have gotten food from this business. Both times totally Excellent quality and quantity! Ordered: Basil Fried Rice & Pad Se-ew noodles. We ordered "medium" heat and I am glad we didn't ask for hotter. Just the right amount of spice. BTW- The Almond Cookies are the best we've ever had. read more

I have done take out here twice now. Both times the food is waiting by the time I get there. It is still hot. I have tried two different items on the menu, the sweet chili fried rice and the vegetable stir fry. Both are excellent. I have also tried the hot and sour soup. It the best hot and sour that I have had in a long time. I will continue to do pick up from here and trying new dishes as well. read more

Great food! Love the vegetable curry. Large portions, I usually make two meals out of one item. Quick service. I wish you could still eat in but they're takeout only now. read more

Mr. Thai serves standard Westernized Asian food. I ordered the beef basil stir fry for take out. There was a lot of liquid, onions, and too much sweetness...it was okay, but not for me. The Crab Rangoon was a bit on the small side and tasted fine. Not a place I will dine at again. read more

Good drunken noodles. I was unaware that the restaurant is only take out. It' appears to be a remnant of Covid. Asked for chopsticks, which seemed to surprise the attendant. It's ok. As to the interior, it's hard to judge since I did not dine in. It's a small place and looks better suited for takeout. Prices were higher than I thought they should be based on other places in the area. Overall, I was not displeased but will need to try again to see if I can re-assess this review. read more

I found this place online while working in Farmington Hills. It was a bit of a drive to pickup for lunch, but SO worth it. The food was always delicious and made exactly as requested. (I'd go back and forth between Pad Thai, Basil Fried Rice, and Drunken Noodles. I tried a sweet treat that was on display during one of my pickups and enjoyed that, too.) The restaurant was pickup only by the time I discovered it, so I never really had a chance to experience the service or ambiance. Even when people recommended some Thai restaurants that were closer, none ever compared to Mr. Thai. If you can get to it, you should definitely check it out! read more

Mr. Thai is a good spot for no-nonsense Thai takeout in Northville, MI. Ordering by phone is easy, and the location has tons of parking (it's located in a strip mall in Northville). I believe they are currently doing Curbside pickup, but no-dine in as of my last visit. Food quality is solid, and the value for the money is decent as well. The fried dumplings were good, crab rangoon was mediocre, but the curry chicken Pad Thai was spectacular. I'd definitely recommend you get the highest spice level if you can tolerate spice, it's the perfect level of heat without being uncomfortable and unbearable. Overall, great experience for Thai takeout! read more

I'm a frequent customer and obviously like the food, convenient and tasty, Thai food is coconut, vegetables and spice though I've not been to Thailand. I like the curry fried rice, all the soups, sucker for garlic chicken and wife gets the pad Thai. Spice level is tricky...Thai must use peppers in the base recipes so I now bounce from mild to mild plus and that's enough for me. I'm thankful they are in Northville. read more

I hate giving restaurants bad reviews but I have to in this case. I went to Mr. Thai for lunch. While there was a couple booths, there was no in restaurant dining. So I ordered some takeout and was really disappointed in what I got. I got an order of spring rolls that were absolutely flavorless and the hot sour soup tasted like cooking oil. I ordered two entrées as I usually do when I go to Thai because I like to have leftovers. The Thai fried rice with chicken tasted like nothing but heat. I ordered it medium by the way. It was also very flavorless. I ended up adding the little bit of sweet-and-sour sauce I had to it to try to tone down the heat and give it some flavor and it just didn't work. There was also hardly no chicken in it by the way. I also ordered the Pad Prik King with chicken which I get it every time restaurant I go to a Thai restaurant. In every case it is always check in with string beans. I don't know if they messed up my order or watt but it had a little bit of chicken with string beans, but also green and red peppers which it did not say in the menu, and I have never had served that way. Again, ordered medium but tasted like nothing but heat , while at the same time being quite flavorless. The entire meal was over $50 for two Thai entrées and an order of spring rolls and it was by far the worst Thai food I've ever ate. I'm sorry Mr. Thai. You really need to step up your game. I personally won't be back read more

Mr. Thai is great, I order take away a couple times a month and it never disappoints. My go to is the Pad See Ew, the spice is always on point and the sweet soy sauce makes my stomach happy. I also tried the chicken satay for the first time with peanut sauce and that was absolutely outstanding. Definitely give this place a try when you are in need of some great Thai! read more

Just a little hidden gem, perfect for takeout but terrific for a quick lunch or dinner. Great variety on menu; my fave is the Drunken Noodles with Chicken, an overly generous platter of delicious flat pan noodles with white meat, assorted veggies and a brown sauce that can be altered for spiciness Spring rolls are best in a nice offering of starters Unlike a bunch of of similar Thai spots, the menu also boasts a bunch of soups that are a meal unto themselves They also offer all of the traditional Thai dishes and a variety of non-Thai selections for others. Exceptional and GREAT value spot! read more

This place is kind of just bizzaro-Thai Basil. Everything is almost exactly the same, but not quite as good. Huge bonus points for delivery though! I haven't taken advantage of it yet, but there's so few places that will deliver anything but pizza or freaky fast sub sandwiches to my house, so this is cool read more

Cute little moms and pops location in a strip mall which is sort of set far back from the main road so easy to miss. The interior is clean and the menus are compressed in the glass tables (so, you're starring at the table to read). I tried two dishes from their lunch menu Veggie Pad Cashew & Pad Bi Ka Prow. Both dishes came with a small cup of hot & sour soup which was on the bland side (at least for me). The Veggie Pad Cashew only had a few cashews which was a disappointment but was otherwise a fairly decent dish. The Pad Bi Ka Prow had the nice fragrant taste of basil but was otherwise unremarkable. Each dish ran smaller than a normal lunch serving and was on the more expensive side for that area of town ($9-$10/plate). read more

The 3.5 rating for Mr. Thai is pretty appropriate. Three dinners, a side of soup, and an appetizer ran $42 before delivery and tip. Others here have said they don't have a delivery charge, but I guess they've changed that, because it's $3 now. We (me, my sister, and her boyfriend) ordered at about 7:30 on a Saturday night and got our food almost an hour later. When ordering on the phone, the guy on the other end spoke slowly and seemed to be very meticulous so as to not make a mistake, which I'd normally find a bit irritating, but given what others have said about them messing some things up, I was alright with it. Turns out, nothing in our orders was messed up. I had the drunken noodles and thought they were pretty tasty. The menu says they have jalapenos in them, but mine didn't -- which turns out to be a good thing, because as others have said, the medium heat level is really pretty spicy, and I love spicy food. I really can not imagine eating hot comfortably at all. So, make your spice level one down of what you'd expect. The crab rangoons were actually some of the better ones I've had anywhere, so that was a pleasant surprise. Again though, the menu says they have celery, but I didn't see or taste celery at all in them. The Tom Kha seemed to be loaded with coconut milk, so it was heavy and artery clogging... but delicious! While I've still yet to find drunken noodles that are better than Hot Pepper Thai in Waterford, these ones are still very good. The chicken at Mr. Thai seems to be unseasoned and possibly even frozen (very slight strange flavor to them), it was cooked fine. Being one of the (if not the only) delivery options in the area that isn't pizza, I can see myself ordering something from here again. read more

Food = 3 stars, Service = 5 stars I went to Mr. Thai the first week they opened. Their menu is not very extensive, but I think it is all right since they are a smaller restaurant. The portions were pretty good, but the food was okay. I'm gonna give them 4 stars, because the service was great. They kept on checking on how we were doing, and even offered to pack me some more rice to take home with my left overs. Maybe they were being really nice to us because it was their first week, but the service was good nonetheless. read more

Great tasting & fresh food. Good selection of traditional Thai dishes. Serving size is just right!

Food and service are great, nice little place, they are just doing carry out at this time. We had the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, both with chicken added and the fried tofu. Their food maybe a little spicy for some. I ordered the Pad Thai mild and generally speaking, I would say for me personally it was closer to medium. If you like it spicy then you will not be disappointed. We have been going here for years, always a good experience. read more

My family and I visited Mr. Thai for the first time last night! What a great find. Food and service were terrific. Being the first time, we tried all te basics - Pad Thai, Satay, Tum Yum, Masaman. The Tum Yum is one of the best we have had around the USA. Satay was good; the Pad Thai was average and the Masaman was good. What I look forward to is eating some of their wonderful specialties. I would highly recommend this over New Bangkok in Northville. Aside from a far more friendly personality (sorry New Banagkok your staff has gotten too arrogant!) and the food is better. Although some of New Bangkoks dishes are better - i.e. Pad Thai. I hope the location does not kill this great restaurant. If you Thai food lovers want to keep it alive, let's get the word out! I for one plan too!! read more

I have been coming to this place since they first opened. Hands down, Mr. Thai is THE best place for Pad Thai. I have tried Pad Thai so many different places and always come back to Mr. Thai. Their Pad Thai has a sweetness to it that other places lack. It's so good! They also use better rice noodles. The portions are always large. The service is always friendly. My order is always ready in a timely fashion. Their Crab Rangoon and Panang Curry are also delicious! The only thing I wish is that I could find them on DoorDash, GrubHub, or UberEats. I live about 20 minutes away and wish they delivered to my area! If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend that you do! (Oh - and watch your spice level. They don't mess around there. Medium is more like hot and mild is more like medium. I love spice, so that's okay. But for the person that doesn't, you've been warned!) read more

Service was really good. I wished the Panang curry tasted more like curry and less like basil (tasted like licorice and that was odd for coconut and peanut) but I guess with it's name they put it in everything. The wonton needed to be cooked longer and I wish they would have had some Thai condiments like spicy fish sauce but overall the food was good read more

Just had the most excellent sweet chili fries rice! It was everything! Med-Hot and the cashews are a nice bonus! Loved! Loved!

I am a huge fan of the pad thai curry with chicken or shrimp, medium spice, at this restaurant. I have also enjoyed all of the curries on their menu. I've also ordered and served the pad broccoli with chicken and beef, or no meat for my daughter and other friends that are more picky. read more

I agree with the reviewer who said she didn't like the tom yum soup. There is something different in it and I don't like it either. I didn't even finish it. My entree was OK, but nothing special. The tables were unusual because they were made of glass and the menus were on a platform underneath the table. I guess it saves space and they don't have to keep handing them out for each customer. They just stay with the table. I will probably not go back because there are several better Thai places near where I live. read more

I've only had their pad thai and green curry but both are deeeelicious. The green curry uses fresh thai/sweet basil and there were big pieces of fresh cilantro in the pad thai. Fresh spices are always good to see :) I was hoping for some dishes with some kaffir lime leaf or holy basil in them but I'm probably asking too much for the location. If you live in any of the surrounding cities I'd definitely recommend going out and trying the green curry. read more

Northville's new alternative too the death grip New Bangkok has had on the town for 10 years. Reading all the positive reviews I decided too give it a try for take out lunch. I ordered the generic Pad Thai, Pad Kra Tiem (Garlic stir-fry), and the Pad See-Ew. All lunches come with Hot and Sour soup, an added bonus! The Pad Thai and Pad See-Ew were pretty good. The price and the portions were reasonable and generous respectively. My only small complaint was the similarity in taste, but they are basically the same thing anyway. I always go for something different every time I go out too a Thai restaurant. I love everything about Thai food and am always looking for a new favorite dish. The garlic stir-fry was lacking in both garlic and original flavor. Similar to a sweet soy and chili sauce. The dish consisted of meat and tofu pieces with no veg what so ever. A generous helping of very tasty sticky rice made up for the small portion of the main dish. I enjoyed my food and will go back again for the Pad Thai or curry dish. I guess I was just expecting something more special than I could make in my own kitchen from the stir-fry. A nice alternative too New Bangkok's anti-curry menu. Bonus: Free delivery within 3 miles read more
