I wanted to update my review. This place does not disappoint! Great food, service, and large menu. And very clean. In my opinion, they have the most authentic Thai food in the area. They also carry Thai dishes that are hard to find at other establishments. I have been a loyal customer for months now. I always ask for prik nam pla, prik nam som, and prik pong ("roasted ground chili") to finish my entrees with additional chilis. I have finally come to the conclusion after four separate orders that I do not like this place. What I DO like on a positive note: the service is super nice, they have reasonably priced ($13) lunch specials, and it's open incredibly late in a town that's not exactly a bustling metropolis. My most recent order was for delivery and I got the drunken noodles and a papaya salad. The latter was WAY overpriced but I love papaya salad and it's not on every Thai restaurant's menu so I figured I would try it. Both were ordered at the spiciest level and I would say they were a medium/medium plus at best. I've had several other dishes as well (cucumber salad, pad Thai, green curry, etc) and have been disappointed with all of them. The one redeeming quality of the green curry is that it was chock full of veggies/meat because the curry itself was watery and not super flavorful. Outside of the lunch specials, I think their pricing is way too high. Granted the portions are large but it's not a super fancy place by any means. My search for a Thai restaurant in Plymouth continues because I have just given up on Ocha. read more

This is my third time coming here, and the service has been consistently poor. The first two times, I ordered over the phone, then drove 20 minutes to pick up two mango smoothies, only to wait 43 minutes after arriving. There were barely any customers, so waiting over an hour total was completely unreasonable. Today was even worse. My boyfriend ordered summer rolls and spring rolls and clearly specified multiple times that we only wanted shrimp, since I have a severe pork allergy. He drove 30 minutes from work, only to be told the order still wasn't ready and had to wait another 18 minutes. When he got home, I checked the food (as I always do) and found pork in my "only shrimp" summer rolls. I called, and they told us to bring them back and they would remake them right away. We drove another 20 minutes back, only to wait an additional 18 minutes because, once again, the food was not ready. This place is overpriced, understaffed, and unreliable. More importantly, they do not take food allergies seriously, which is unacceptable. I do not recommend this place. read more

I've heard so many recommendations for this place so I was definitely excited to try it out! Our service was pretty quick, and it seemed like whoever noticed we needed water or anything would help out, not only our specific waiter, which was nice and definitely speeded things along. The food was good, but I'm sad to say it didn't amaze me like I was expecting. The crab rangoons were good, but the breading was too thick. Not a major fan. Then we got Pad Cashew Nut, which was...okay. Nothing amazing. I wish there was more taste in the sauce? Like maybe if it was thicker? I don't know, I was definitely not impressed with it. First visit to Thai Ocha, despite living right around the corner from it for years. It's a really cute place inside. We started with the Spring Rolls and the Crab Rangoon. The spring rolls were good, but the Crab Rangoon was some of the best I've ever had. I think it was because they put more filling in than usual. I tried the Drunken Noodles with Shrimp. I liked it, but I think I would try something new on another visit. My husband get the Fried Rice with chicken and like it as well. Service as good. We will be back soon. read more

For an appetizer we had crab cheese rangoon which my daughter said was the best she ever had. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and Thai motif. The waitress, I assume was Thai and spoke limited English. You have to order by the number on the menu. The menu is extensive and priced competitively. I had C4 Pa-Nang curry with coconut milk, peppers, onions and lime leaves. Ordered medium hot which was just enough heat for me and I like hot. Came with rice and you scoop the Pa-Nang on. My wife and I just dined at Thai Ocha for the first time. The fare was easily the tastiest Thai food I've had since I moved away from the San Gabriel Valley in 1993. In addition, our server was very knowledgeable about accommodating dietary preferences and restrictions. The chili sauce that came with the fried tofu appetizer, my wife's red curry sauce, and my green curry sauce were all so good, I could drink them plain. Truly excellent Thai restaurant serving authentic fare as well as shrimp chips as a free appetizer! Fantastic Thai iced tea and other beverages, and their apple salad is delicious - great blend of savory, sweet and spicy seasonings. Their curry ramen is also very good, and their chicken skewers are tasty as well. Excellent and attentive service and the inside is decorated with awesome Thai decorations, banners, paintings and other decor - there is also multiple TVs that display live programming (a Pirates of the Caribbean film was being shown). One major advantage is that it is probably the only restaurant in the Plymouth area (right in downtown Plymouth) open late until 3am or so. I'm going to make this short and sweet. I didn't even know that I liked Thai food until I came here. I have tried Thai food numerous times but it never stood out to me until I had Thai Ocha. I was told this is the most authentic you can get in the area, and if this is authentic, then Thai food is officially my jam. I've come here at least 5 times in the last year. My go to orders is the red curry, pad see ew, and the papaya salad. They are a very small restaurant that holds probably only eight tables, but the food is always consistent, the service is always good. This is the restaurant that I recommend everyone trying whenever they're in town. 10/10 would come back every day. read more

Literally the worst restaurant experience of my life My wife and I came here to eat and ordered pad Thai and vegetables. The bad Thai had undercooked noodles and what tasted like bottled sauce. I also commented on how it had very little tofu, to which they said that they count out 10 pieces! The vegetables tasted like frozen mixed vegetables with bad bottled sauce. When we kept telling them that this was not edible they just kept asking if we wanted to go containers Finally, when it was time for the bill they billed us for the full amount! Just back to this joint on a Saturday early dinner. Noticed new serving crews. I noticed that new crew are so aggressive that they are always around your table to take away empty or almost empty plates, as if there is a disaster coming. The young guy keeps hovering around our table as if he wants to go home early. Our table was cleared of plates and bowls and drinking glasses before we even got our check. From my last visit, the owner is watching every one who parks at his parking lot, who are not his customers. Must the busy ice cream joint just a walking distance from Ocha parking space. Noticed very few people dining in, most only for take-out. Although the pricing on it's menu went up a bit higher, but the servings and quality have not improve. Here in Plymouth for a work trip, and me being Hmong definitely needed rice in my life Saw reviews for this place and decided to order off grub hub (bonus that our hotel had free delivery). I ordered the papaya salad (hottest level), the Thai pork sausage with sticky rice and a Thai tea! The Thai Tea was delicious, not overly sweet nor watered down. As for the papaya salad, definitely not as hot as they advertised. I am a spice kind of guy though and usually order my papaya salads with at least 10 bird eye chilis minimum. The flavor was okay, definitely a more Americanized flavor; meaning more of a fish sauce/lime taste (I opt to like more of the traditional crab paste taste) but this still definitely hit the spot. The pork sausages were delicious!! Perfect meat to fat ratio, with the fat not overly blended and left in good size chunks! Exactly how I love my Thai/Laos/Hmong sausages. When ordering they asked for a spice level, which I don't understand why, cause there was no spice anywhere in the dish? The sautéed cabbage on the side was mediocre and just tasted like fish sauce and vinegar. My main gripe would be the sticky rice! Portion size was very little, and the rice itself was definitely over cooked and old! The rice was mushy, but had really hard spots on the inside and parts of the outside (sticky rice tends to get hard when sitting out for too long). read more

We dined in and the service was great (it was a busy night but the server was polite and kind) and our food came out fast considering how busy it was. This is a super casual place, nothing fancy at all. Yum, I love the Green Curry here and my friend really likes their glass noodle dishes. I'm glad this place is still around and the fact that they have their own little (free) parking lot makes it convenient especially during super busy downtown Plymouth nights. Coming from Aus I just love authentic Thai food and it has been so hard to find . This is the closest I have come but with some Ups and downs . The ups are that it is pretty authentic for most dishes eg Panang curry etc but for others they have been Americanized ( fair enough it's America after all) . This place is consistently so delicious. Never lets me down. One thing I'd like to point out though is the thai iced tea. I asked for it to be less sweet but they diluted it so much that it ended up just tasting like milk. They should stop pre-sweetening the tea & just add sweetener as it is ordered so customers can customize their sweetness levels without compromising the strength & taste of the tea. They provided a complimentary basket of shrimp chips to start off. We ordered another basket of the chips but we weren't told that it would be an extra charge. Only ended up finding that out when we received the bill. Everything else was perfect! The red curry was delicious & the chicken fried rice was to die for!
