This restaurant was very nice inside. We were greeted right away and the waiter was really on top of things and very energetic. I got the yellow curry. My husband ordered yellow curry noodle. I got mine mild, however ended up being more of a med/hot. It was to hot for me to enjoy. However the flavor was really good. We also got spring rolls which were really good. I just think next time I will say very little spice to no spice at all for mine. We were very happy to try it out! We will definitely be back to try some more dishes out. Thai Basil is one of my favorite dinner spots! The service has always been quick and kind, and it's one of my favorite date night spots. This review is before the 2nd wave of COVID-19, back in July when very few places were open for dine in for our anniversary. We were dying to dine out because we were stuck and home and needed to get out! Fortunately at the time, Thai Basil was open for dine in. We came in and the atmosphere and ambiance was elegant, clean and very suitable for our anniversary dinner. We ordered the Green Curry Tofu which is my personal favorite, although it didn't look green, more of a yellowish color, it certainly made up for it with the flavors and the scrumptious veggies that were also in them. Bi Kra Prow had a wonderful flavor to it as well, the sauce was something that was worth pouring over the rice even when that was all that was left, the Pad Thai curry was nice with the peanut and curry flavor, and Drunken Noodle which was a nice blend with all the vegetables...all veganized of course, meaning they could convert these dishes without fish/oyster sauce and can eliminate the MSG. The food was excellent and very good in portions and quality that was pleasing to the palate and explosive fireworks to our tastebuds. A little on the pricey side, but you definitely get what you pay for in quantity and quality. Definitely worth coming again...never ordered take out from here, I don't know if take out would also have generous portions. Checked out Thai Basil for the first time! Lots of options for Thai and Japanese food lovers. I ordered the green curry, which uses a yellow curry paste versus green curry paste. I inquired about the color different and was told that is how green curry looks when you add curry paste. Well...I'm Thai... I snapped a pic and sent it to my mom, who confirmed it was yellow curry paste used. Don't get me wrong, it was still super yummy. I was hoping I would get what I ordered, but after asking I was still told it was green curry. My husband got the pineapple fried rice. Loved the addition of raisins and fried egg on top. Actually, it was more like a sauce with chopped carrots and cucumber than a salad. I went with the Vegetable Delight for my entrée, with mixed seafood. The dish was, as the name implies, chock full of bean sprouts, julienned red and green peppers, broccoli spears, thinly-sliced celery, and water chestnuts, all in a brown sauce. Thai Basil has been so good to us in the past. They have delicious carry out and half off sushi Monday's. We stopped in for an evening dinner with our youngest and was, unfortunately, rather disappointed. We sat down outside on the patio and enjoyed people watching for awhile, but soon tired waiting for our waiter. We were the only table at that time. When he finally arrived, we ordered, though we discovered there was no children's menu y, nor is alcohol served. No worries, we ordered our tot an appetizer and indulged in some lemonade instead. We chatted and people watched for nearly an hour before our food was served. The couple next to sat sat down and waited about 20 minutes before leaving. Our waters were not attended to, nor did receive some essential condiments we asked for. The food was delicious, which earned the three stars from me, but the service was extremely slow. The Pad Thai was our favorite as it was super authentic and flavorful - highly, highly recommend getting the Pad Thai. The atmosphere here is nice, so I would recommend this place as more of a dine in Thai restaurant as opposed to a takeout Thai restaurant (also because the serving sizes aren't huge). They also have sushi here, with half off sushi on Mondays. Spicy Wontons (3.5/5) - We ordered this as our appetizer. It was nothing spectacular, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. It definitely has a kick to it from the hot sauce on top of it. Pad Thai (5/5) - We got the Pad Thai with beef and zero spice level. This was amazing, probably the best Pad Thai we've had in Plymouth. It was very authentic and had plenty of flavor despite the fact that we ordered it with zero spice level. The texture of the noodles was also perfect. We would come back here for the Pad Thai alone. Note that you do have to pay $1 extra for beef instead of chicken. Honor of the King (4/5) - This was a grilled chicken dish that came with two dipping sauces and curry fried rice. I miss my favorite Thai places in Denver, as I've had quite the challenge finding Thai food that 1) is good and 2) is vegetarian and GF friendly in the Mitten. I will say this is both, although they were a bit more limited at this intersection that I had hope (for example, other than an iceberg salad, not appetizers were both). However, the server was friendly and knew the menu well, which was very appreciated. Here is my warning. Many Thai places in Michigan call something Medium that would be Mild elsewhere. This place was the opposite; because we were getting curry (both Massaman curry and the Curry Pad Thai), we opted Mild, as we could always add spice. Even at "mild" - my tongue was burning and I could barely eat either dish, and chugged my Thai iced tea to be able to get through it. If you are a little more on the mild side, this might not be the best place for you. However, if you don't mind spice, their portions are generous and their service is solid. I grew up in Plymouth and have been living in Chicago recently trying to find a new Thai restaurant and nothing compares to how good the thai fried rice and pad thai are from Thai Basil.
