Thai Basil did not disappoint. Medium spicy is SPICY!! Beware. Service was excellent. The restaurant was busy so you know the food is good. We ordered various dishes. They do close at 8:30 on Tuesday not sure about their hours on others day so check before heading in. Service was friendly and fast. Eel and cucumber rolls were very good. Place is clean and spacious. Attached pictures and what dishes we ordered. ENJOY read more

Food delivery order. We got crab ragoon, pad see ew, drunken noodle, and salmon sushi roll. Everything came hot and ready to eat. The drunken noodles were great. Loved the spice level! The ragoons came in this thin crispy wrapping and they were pretty tasty. The salmon rolls were okay....I've had better. read more

I think they are no longer in business. I thought they were good but I did notice it was never packed. All good things must come to an end.

The restaurant was nearly empty [one other small group besides us] when we visited, but service still felt inattentive. The owner/manager and waitress passed by our table multiple times without checking if we needed anything or how the food was. Unfortunately, the Thai food itself was also underwhelming. Overall, the experience was disappointing. We are not going to come back. read more

Had dinner on a Thursday which happens to be a current offer of a free appetizer with an entree when you dine in. I tried Bang Bang Shrimp. They were excellent. My entree was drunken noodles. I ordered medium spice and it was perfectly done. They have a full bar too, with great prices. read more

Used to be one of my favorite spots but the last THREE times I've ordered the pad cashew, they've put zero cashews in it. Weird. Also the quantity has significantly decreased - I used to have enough for leftovers the next day and now I'm finishing the entire meal in one sitting. I'm hoping this is just a down time and they'll bounce back, because their food is honestly so good. But probably going to take a break from here, at least for a few months. read more

It's been a while since leaving Thai Basil a review. Previously, I would stop here regularly. I enjoyed the ambiance and the food. The service had always been good and it was again on my recent visit. The food also arrives quickly. There is some highlights and a bit of lowlights. The winners here are the crab Rangoon's and the spring rolls. They are both very crispy and the flavor is spot on! They also are generous with the crab filling! Outstanding! The pad Thai for me was just not that good. I have had it before and I liked it. It was too sweet, it had an odd darker color and the chicken was not tender at all. The eggs were also almost nonexistent. The vegetarian stir fry was tasty, but it almost had a gumbo consistency and it didn't not have enough veggies. Things seem to have declined. The decor, once sort of special, looks dated and a bit drab. This experience was just ok. I hope they brighten the place up and improve the food back to their old standards. It's a great location with lots of parking! They just need to share their original passion so it translates to the food and the overall experience! read more

I was in the area and decided to take a chance on this location. It's not terrible and it's not great. It depends what you like. The crab Rangoon has way too much cream cheese and do you need to be careful eating it as it can get messy due to the excessive cream cheese. The spice level insane! Light spice = medium and medium spice = very hot. I can't imagine how killer it would be to ask for "regular" spice ! The sushi was ok. The setting looks dated. The service is good and fast. I would not be going back. read more

Spent over $60 for food that wasn't edible. Ordered mild, we like some spice but it was wayyyyyyy too spicy. Pad cashew had 1 small piece of chicken and a bunch of sauce with no bamboo shoots or baby corn. Ordered chicken pad Thai, hardly any chicken. Ordered the peanuts on the side and they didn't provide them. Will never order here again. Tom yum soup was too spicy to eat. Update: took the uneaten food back the next day and spoke with the manager Saj, he said they would remake it for us at that time but we were on our way to a party. He said we could have it remade at a later date. I called tonight to reorder and he would only offer a discount, not a remake. He said he did not write it down and had no record of it. I have a picture of the receipt yet he still would not rectify the order. I am disappointed to say I will no longer patronize this restaurant. read more

Got take out. I got three items from here : basil fried rice, tom kha soup, and red curry. I didn't get a picture of the red curry but it was drained from the container and leaking into the plastic bag it was put in and tied. That was disappointing bc it was just chunks of vegetables. The basil fried rice I can say was pretty good, would not say out of this world. Lastly the Tom kha soup was looking like it's not mixed well as parts of it looked more liquidified than others. All this food was about $40 and I didn't really like any of it so it felt like i just threw away my money read more

I've had them before. The curry was STUPID spicy and hot on NO SPICE/MILD. Still delicious but man.

The food from this place is sooo good. We ordered Pad Thai with Chicken and Pad See Ew with Chicken, and both were extremely flavorful. Prices as of Sept 2022: - Chicken, pork, tofu or veggies: $12.50 - Beef: $13.50 - Shrimp, squid or crabmeat: $14.50 - Scallop: $15.50 - Mixed seafood: $17.95 Their Pad Thai came with thin rice noodles wok-tossed with eggs, green onions, bean sprouts, and topped with crushed peanuts. The color of the noodles was a little paler than what I'm used to, but the flavor turned out to be all there and more. It was savory, slightly tangy and sweet, and it was pretty loaded with chicken thigh meat. And with each dish we got to choose our desired spiciness level, and I asked for "spicy" because I looove real spicy food, no jokes. But man oh man, the "spicy" level at this place was no joke. But it was so good though. The Pad See Ew came with wide rice noodles wok-tossed with eggs and broccoli sweet soy sauce. I asked for "medium spicy" for this one. This dish nailed it in terms of the delicate balance between sweet and savory. I would 100% order this again. read more

I placed an order and asked for the spice to be medium hot. Picked up my food, (15 min drive there) just to get home and there was NO spice. I called back up there to advise I was on my way back up there and was told they would remake it and give me some sauce for free. I get up there and was only give crushed red peppers and some sauce. The guy was beyond rude. I asked if there was anyone else there I could talk to and he basically said no. I WILL NOT BE EATING HERE AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Customer service was horrible. read more

Fast, hot, delicious, perfection! Consistent and reliably good food! Thai Basil in Livonia is so fast, we order delivery frequently and their food always arrives much sooner than it tells you to expect. And it is always so hot and fresh, perfectly made and delicious. They have the best pad Thai in town! I have an allergy with onions and usually when I ask for no onions they make sure there are no onions, and they'll add something else like sprouts to round out the dish, really thoughtful. Have been ordering for a number of years from them and never ever a bad experience, food quality is really consistent. Oh, and their portion sizes are huge! We usually make at least 3 meals out of one order. read more

I am honestly not sure what has happened to this Thai Basil location. This used to be a great place to order Thai food. My past two orders have been wrong. I order chicken pad Thai with no peanuts. The first order a few weeks ago was not what I ordered with peanuts. I tried to go back a second time and the order contained peanuts. I mentioned this to the hostess who said she took the order. She was extremely confrontational and said that I did not say "no peanuts". This was not the case and it has happened twice. Honestly avoid this location at all costs. They cannot recover in my opinion. I certainly did not lie about saying no peanuts across multiple orders when I can't have peanuts. If you have allergies this location cannot be trusted. read more

My dad ate his right away so when he said there was barely any chicken in the rice I thought he was exaggerating. I heated my rice up for breakfast at work and either my dad wasn't exaggerating or the chicken got up and walked out in the middle of the night like a bad one night stand. I usually get spicy Siam crossed the street and they are much better but they were closed Sunday. I paid $4.50 to add chicken as per the menu set up. I feel slighted. I had to dig to find a shaving of chicken in the rice to take a photo. read more

Thai Basil - 1/2 cup soup with lunch. - Thai Near Me - Livonia, Michigan

Thai Basil is tucked into a strip mall in Novi on Grand River between Wixom and Beck near where the old Zoup used to be. The inside is beautiful, booths and tables. They do not, as advertised, have sushi. Which for us was fine. We both ordered the traditional shrimp pad Thai mild which still had a little spicy kick to it. There were plenty of medium size shrimp in the dishes. Bean sprouts and crushed peanuts on top. It was quite delicious, We had to stop ourselves so we could take the rest home. The server was friendly and the food came up quickly. Great experience! read more

Really great thai food. Even better than CA's thai. Only thing is the drinks tasted like sweet kool-aid instead of a cocktail. I guess thats what you get for 6.00 vs 15.00. The service was very fast. Appetizers came out with in 10 mins and food with in 15 mins. read more

This is my first time here to dine in, but not my first to try Thai food. What we ordered : - Fried Tufo - Seasoned Chicken breasts with rice - Roasted Duck - Plain Noodles - Thai Kha Soup (The whole order was around $45) Pros : - The place was clean, neat and well organized. - The employees were so nice and friendly. - The quantity of food is excellent. Cons : - We ordered our food mild, but still there were plenty of dishes that was spicy - There were strange smell in the food that wasn't that appealing to my appetite Overall : The best dishes were the Thai Kha Soup, fried Tufo and Chicken breasts. For the roasted duck, it was so horrible that we didn't even finish it or take it for a take out. The same of the plain noodles, it was horrible it tasted like plastic. read more

This has to be my favorite Thai restaurant. They never disappoint. The food is always consistent, although, from time to time the spice may switch up a bit. Sometimes I've asked for mild and get a kick of spice. But, no complaints. If you love Thai you have to give this place a shot! Curry Noodles, Chicken satay, spring rolls, Veggie curry, they are all awesome. Oh, and maybe I should add that I've never dined it. Always carry out (it's usually my lunch while working). read more

Best Thai restaurant, I always come get the Curry fried rice not sure what's in it but it's great

So,, a friend of mine said we'll do dinner here before our annual Christmas party. So, at first I was a bit skeptical, but then my mind changed. I think I told my fiance that this spot was a chain. I must've gotten it confused with Thai Chili or some other lackluster joint. Anyways! Let's get on with it. For starters, the soft shell crabs. There's is nothing I adore more than a proper soft shell crabs, and these guys did it hella right. Then we move on to the main events, chicken in coconut curry and the tofu with red curry for my vegetarian friend. Both dishes were really amazing. I love love love love love and adore the flavors. The curry is just right with the right amount of bite and not too too spicy either. Just right sort of speak. Anyways,, the service was awesome. Our drinks arrived in a timely fashion, so did our food. Plus our waters were definitely tended to. Refills whenever we needed a freshen up. Which in turn translates to an amazing experience. Thank you for reading my review. I hope this helps. Enjoy your yelptastic day!!! read more

This place has ALWAYS been a step above, and continues to be... Just picked up a few items (crab ragoons, Pad Cashew Stir fry, chix fried rice) the food is just SO good, the wrappers on those ragoons are light, crispy, PERFECT, the Pad dish, the broth/sauce/spices are PERFECT - the service just right, right on time, and quick. Pretty tasty Thai food! Large dining area, good for big groups and there was no wait. Service was also pretty fast. Portions are large, definitely big enough to share. They also offer sushi, I did not order it but my friends did, neither one was impressed with it though. I would stick to their Thai items. I got the wonton soup and Pad Thai. Soup was good with large wontons and a garlic broth. The Pad Thai was also tasty, but was missing the crunchy peanut topping which was disappointing.
