It was cold in Michigan and I need a HOT bowl of tasty pho. I decided to give this establishment a try based on their good reviews on Yelp. I went with a regular size P1 Pho Dac Biet for $14. A variety of meats and vegetables in a VERY SATISFYING broth. I enjoyed slurping the noodles. Service staff needs to become more familiar with the menu, but it was OK. I've now been here several times and while I don't find myself going back every single week, I wouldn't turn it down if someone suggests we go there. Since the menu is mainly Vietnamese with some non-Vietnamese items sprinkled in to please more people, obviously I had to get their pho. I wouldn't say 100% amazing, but definitely good enough to choose to drive 3 minutes from my office if I was craving some and don't feel like driving farther. I've also had their Dragon Egg, Chopstix Poke Bowl, and Bun Bo Hue. Their Japanese offerings are quite good. The fish was very fresh in the poke bowl. My husband and I loved the Dragon Egg (fried whole avocado topped w/ fish of choice) cause we both love avocado and thought the texture was great (not mushy from being over-fried). Bun Bo Hue is my other go-to if I didn't feel like pho. It's spicy noodle with with various meats + pork blood (which I tell them to leave out). Overall, great experience every time. read more

Well, I was at this restaurant just last night, and for starters, the waitress was absolutely sloppy! I think she told me her name was like Chanel or something, but when she came up to my table, a horrendous stench hit me, like I was being hit by a bus (not once but twice). I proceeded with my order and ordered pho dac biet, spring rolls, and the shrimp crunch. First of all, the pho was extremely salty, and it was like 90% broth and 10% everything else. It was served to me Lukewarm as well. Secondly, the spring rolls were stale, and when I bit into it, there was a strand of hair in my mouth. Next, when they say shrimp "crunch", they really emphasize the crunch. Crunch? More like biting into a brick. The shrimp were also undercooked because they took more than half an hour to bring it to me. Never coming here with my kids again!!! read more

Oh, my, what a lovely first impression. Tung (one of the owners, and the starter of the place) is doing some *really* lovely sushi in Livonia, of all places. You know: that fantastic waterfront port city of...*Livonia*. Don't be fooled: what I had was really wonderful, and a breath of fresh air, sushi-wise. It's a nice place, too: bright, clean, and we the patrons can be refreshingly close to seeing the making of our sushi, and while I have always enjoyed being able to see my sushi made in front of me, I never knew until these post-pandemic days how very much I've missed being able to sit at the sushi bar itself. Most places it's asking too much, these days. I very much enjoyed my time talking to Tung while he prepared my food. And that food? Really good. Great, even. I am suitably impressed with the Shrimp Crunch roll I had, and practically over the moon with the Ginger Salad I started out with. Let's start there, shall we? That Ginger Salad is a *S-T-E-A-L* at all of $3, and the ginger dressing that they make, in-house, with 17 different ingredients? If it's not the best one I've ever had, then it's in a Death Match with the best one I've ever had, and the battle will be *bloody*. This stuff is extremely good. You *want* the Ginger Salad. It's a basement bargain. You do *NOT* want to *share* your Ginger Salad. If someone tries to "just have a taste of" your Ginger Salad, I give you my full permission to stick either your fork or your chopstick into their body somewhere, painfully. For $3, they can get one of their own. The Shrimp Crunch roll was such a delightful surprise. Lovely flavors, terrific texture, light crunchiness, and if you want to have him tack on some masago on top, and maybe have a bit of spicy mayo with it, I can recommend that as well. For $9, this roll is a lovely thing as well, and *very* pretty to look at! In fact, I enjoyed my food well enough that I ordered both the salad and another of the same roll to go, because, well...*why not*? I'm here, aren't I? Why waste the trip/gas when the food is of such high quality? Full disclosure: only half of the roll made it back to the house, and now that roll is completely gone. It went proudly. They've only been open for about 3.5 months, now, but this was a really great first time in the batter's box for them. I will be keeping Tung & Co. in mind for the future when I'm out that way, and I do tend to get out that way more often these days. It's really nice to have a place I can go and know that they're doing things the *right way*. You are lucky, Livonians; I am jealous of you. Make Tung feel welcome. You'll be happy you did. Even happier when you don't have to share your Ginger Salad. read more

After a long day of travel from Atlanta to Dallas to Detroit, we stopped by here to get a nutritious meal. We ordered pho and a salmon poke bowl. Both we ample for two adults and two children.
