This was my first visit to Sai Gon Pho and it is the start of many return visits! A fantastic bowl of pho! Very flavorful, loved the herbs, deep broth and aesthetically pleasing to the eye and definitely the palate! I love adding the chili oil, hoisin and sriracha as well! Great way to customize your own bowl! Very delightful! I really enjoyed the decor and ambiance! High ceilings, colorful but also relaxed. It felt like a little get-away. We ordered a strawberry smoothie that was amazing and refreshing. The appetizers were also delicious! We tried the chicken wings, great sauce! The spring rolls, also refreshing and presented so nicely with a delicious sauce! We absolutely enjoyed the eggs rolls, fried to perfection with another tasty sauce and the fried dumplings also deserve an honorable mention! We will be retuning soon not only for the food! The service was so sweet, friendly and there was such care in preparing a wonderful meal and experience! I have had many bowls of pho in my day, and this pho ranks high! We had a great time at Sai Gon Pho. The service was wonderful and the restaurant is modern with lots of seating. For food, I tried the chicken wing app. It was sweet and spicy, with the perfect amount of heat. Not to much, not too little. My husband tried the meatball pho and I got a combo vermicelli bowl with grilled pork, shrimp, and egg roll. The veggies in the bowl were refreshing and light. Wandered in before a movie at Emagine Novi. It's conveniently close if you're looking for a quicker meal before catching a movie. There were plenty of open tables, but it wasn't very busy on a Friday night. I'm not sure how long they've been at this location, but all the servers were very friendly, and I appreciated the screens rotating pictures of their menu. It made their food seem extra appealing. I ordered the P4 with sliced beef and the summer rolls. The summer rolls were different from other versions I've had- This one had a strip of tasty BBQ Meat which I really enjoyed. The pho itself was a solid broth. I wouldn't rank it among the tastiest pho I've ever had, but enough that the broth had a good depth of flavor. Unlike many other pho restaurants I've been to, they pre-add the bean sprouts and Thai basil for you, though they let you add your own jalapeños. Overall, this place seemed like a solid place to go for me. Convenient if I'm in the area, though I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to come here. We chose this place for dinner after we visited Twelve Oaks Mall. This area is a commercial haven with every mall variation imaginable...indoor conventional, satellite plaza, strip plaza, etc. This restaurant was in Twelve Mile Crossing, which is basically an outdoor mall that really didn't resemble a town center as much as an urban neighborhood or a downtown side street. But whatever you want to call it, it was a nice feel that created a cool vibe. This particular complex was mostly restaurants with establishments such as Black Rock, a Bar Louie, a BW3 and others. The parking was ample although, because it was a big lot, on a busy night you could end up parking a little way out. The atmosphere was nicely sedate and comfortable when we visited. The dining room capacity was perhaps seating for sixty but there were only a dozen or so patrons when we walked in. It was wonderfully chill. We were seated right away and our server attended to us quickly. She did a good job taking care of us throughout our visit. The menu was straightforward and contained several Vietnamese standards. In addition to the Pho, there were also rice and noodle plates. We were attracted to these in trying to maximize our flavor and limit our calories. I chose the Grilled Chicken which was accompanied by rice, a fried egg and salad. It was well done and the taste was excellent. The sweet dipping sauce (nước chấm) was a nice complement. My wife chose the Grilled Pork Chop with the same accompaniments and she was equally happy with her selection. We ate about half of our servings and each had a small meal to take home. I was happy enough with the value I had hot tea to drink and my wife had water. So with food, drink, tax and tip, our outlay was $32 USD. At $16 per person with another small meal to take home, I was happy enough with the value. We'll keep this place in mind when we're in the area again. read more

I had the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and the Sai Gon Pho Special. The restaurant was quite warm inside -- I didn't mind, but some people might find it uncomfortable. Vietnamese Iced Coffee - It was pretty good but on the sweeter side. I would have preferred a stronger Vietnamese coffee flavor. In addition, they added a lot of ice which meant less coffee. Pho - The pho was decent and better than the options around Novi and Farmington Hills, but not as good as the pho places in Troy or Madison Heights. The bowl was on the smaller side, and I wished it had some tendons and more cilantro. It didn't really stand out nor compare to the pho I've had in places like California, Colorado, and Boston. read more

Horrible experience with the wife of the owner. Ordered a pork dish and fresh rolls. Ate the fresh rolls. Were bland but edible. The major problem was what they called pork. This was 99 percent fat. I took a bite and spit it out. Complained to the waitress, who brought the lady to my table. No apology was given. She simply advised if i didnt pay for everything in full to include the fat dish, she would call the police. Came to Michigan for work and felt like I was coming down with something 2 days later...I attribute that sitting on a plane for 5 hours so I wanted pho. I'm from SoCal which is one of the premier areas for Asian food and so my expecations were quite low to find good pho in Michigan. Hopped on Yelp and found this place closest to my hotel. Walked in. Decorations are cute. Restaurant seemed clean. I got the egg rolls and the pho they had on promo which was beef ball, flank steak, tripe and raw beef). Egg rolls were good but not served with the usual accompaniments such as lettuce, pickled veggies, etc but the server was nice enough to make a small plate for me. The pho broth had a lot of depth, not oily at all. Noodles were cooked perfectly. Overall I was surprised at how good it was. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that they pre add the vegetables for you in the pho vs serving it on the side. I'd comeback. read more

Sai Gon Pho Wow. This is not your typical pho place! Why. For now 2024, it's the first pho restaurant in Michigan that has the stone bowl pho! P1 - Sai Gon Pho Special. Yes. It comes with everything and includes a huge oxtail meat/bone. The stone bowl comes out boiling hot and you add your meats, vegetable, and garnish. Nice! I've seen the stone bowl pho go for $40 in CA but at this place it's only $23. We really get the better deal. The eggrolls were good and on par with everyone else. Something different? Yes. They have coconut juice from a real coconut! Excellent! Called "Fresh whole coconut". Done right. Wow. I make this drink at home all the time. Trust me, it's a challenge. Just come, the pho is great. The broth is similar to the rest of the pho restaurant. Good. Not oily. Clear broth. Nice staff. Very open floor plan. Nice decor. You and your friends will be satisfied. FYI, the stone bowl pho($23) is the biggest pho bowl at this place. You can ask them to upsize your 11.99 bowl to the stone bowl if you want more pho helpings. For me, the 11.99 bowl size are very small. I would put this pho on par with Pho Lucky, Taste Of Vietnam Pho, and Detroit Pho & Crab. It's that good. Michigan has a lot of good pho places. Now we have stone bowl pho!! Highly recommended My Star System: 1=Dumpster fire. Don't waste your money 2=Disappointed. I saw that this place just opened and decided to try it. I was very pleased with the experience! The dining area is nice, upscale looking, and clean. The service was quick and very friendly. There weren't many customers, but they just opened for business, so I don't think many people know about it. Most importantly for me, the food was excellent. I started off with the crispy egg rolls (which were spot on) and an order of the summer rolls with a seasoned pork patty inside. I've had summer rolls with grilled pork inside, but never a grilled ground pork patty. There was also a crispy element inside the summer roll that I've never had before. I think it's fried vermicelli. Very tasty, and great texture contrast. The pho was also delicious. I had the sliced beef pho. I rarely write reviews but this was a one of a kind experience for me, in a bad way. This place is indefinitely crossed off the list of places to go for my family. Here from out of town with a bunch of other families as our kids are competing in the Jr Gold tournament. Hectic schedule so trying to get kids fed as quickly as possible with their favorite foods. Pho is typically quick and easy so decided to just go here since it was the closest to where we were. My son does not eat meat nor likes greens in his pho. I ordered myself their combination pho and a plain pho for my son. Server was a really nice girl who took our order but apparently her manager is not accommodating at all. Server came back a few mins later and said sorry, my manager said we can't make plain pho. WHAT? It's the simpliest thing. Put some pho noodle in a bowl and put some soup from that gigantic pot you've already made. Done. I even said, I'd pay whatever you want to charge me for it. Charge me for another combo, that's fine. My kid is hungry and this is what he wants to eat. Nope...she said sorry, my manager said we can't sell it like that. First time ever this has ever happened to us in over 100 pho places. So, I told my son to get up and we walked out. Ironically, our group of friends called a few mins later and said, there this place called Sai Gon Pho nearby we are all heading to, wanna meet there? I said HELL NO. Told them what happened and we all just went somewhere else a little further away (which delightfully served my son plain pho). Food may be great but didn't get to try it. I was excited for this place to open, but let me say it's not traditional Vietnamese restaurant. This is more for the hipsters and appealing to the American culture. The pho selections are very small. You can only get one choice of meat and it's 12$ for a small bowl (there is only one size). They have a 22$ bowl where you get 3 or 4 meats, but it's not a big bowl. It's the same size. Or if you want other meats you can add them for 5-6$. They don't give you the toppings (basil, jalapeños, bean sprout, etc) to add yourself. They put it in there and it's not a big amount. We didn't even get a lime or jalapeño. Flavor was ok. Vermicelli pork meat was very good however with a good portion of meat. But it lacked in noodles. Egg rolls were really good and full of flavor. Overall, I fell they are super expensive (for the area I'm sure they have to be) for the portions. I feel if they give better portions and pho selections, they'd be great! read more

I really want to give this place a one star but the service was good and attentive. The food is mediocre at best. I really liked the summer roll and the sauce but the pho was almost uneditable to me. The noodle was hard and the broth lacked flavor. The husband had grilled beef and he said it was pretty decent but there wasn't much meat. Overall, it is also expensive and not worth it to me. There is lack of Vietnamese food around novi so I guess this is a good addition. But I personally wouldn't frequent this place at all. read more

Awful! Very dirty, the service was terrible. We waited for an hour to get our food when it wasn't even that busy. When more people started coming in, more people started to leave, and service just got worse for me and my mom and other people. Worst vietnamese place I've ever been to. My mom also ordered chicken. The chicken didn't taste cooked all the way, and it was Gamey. As we tried to explain to the server, he argued and wouldn't answer our questions. FINALLY, we get the managers attention. He speed walks to us, looking at my mom like she's crazy. Did not appreciate that! We tell him, he said, is it the sauce? It's fish sauce. It may have been the sauce because my mom is allergic to fish, but NO ONE told us that, another example of bad service couldn't even explain to us what's in half of our food. The manager goes and makes a big scene with his hands in the air, "Well, why come to vietnamese place when we have fish sauce!". And so much more. My mother could have died from them not giving us the right information and waiting all that time when she could've had a reaction that could lead to something worse than the food.
