This excursion for boba was my introduction to Bambu, both as a chain overall and this particular franchise location. The environment was bright, clean, and inviting. A pink floral wall contributed to a whimsical aesthetic while board games on the table gave entertainment options for patrons. I could see this as a space where friends gather to catch up and spend some downtime together. I appreciated that there wasn't any music playing so guests were able to focus on their conversation without worrying about white noise. The menu was clear yet not concise. There were many options - to the point that I felt overwhelmed. The workers were kind and patient, giving space for time to decide. I ordered the Mango milk tea with boba. When placing my order, the staff asked how much boba I would like while stating there were different amounts of boba offered as evidence by the 7 tier markings on the sample cup. I didn't realize that by following these directions, there would be an extra cost in addition to the drink price. I wish this had been communicated beforehand and think that transparency would contribute to stronger customer service relations. The drink had a sweet flavor and was light. I enjoyed the mango and it tasted similar to a juice. I thought the boba was dry. If I order a drink again, I would forego the boba toppings. Three stars because the drink flavor & the environment gave strong first impressions. I admit that not having been here before contributed to a lack of familiarity of the menu though I can't ignore the price paid for the taste of the boba. I'm open to frequenting them again & it's nice to know of another Boba chain to add to the rotation though I feel pretty ambivalent about them. read more

I'm torn. Some days I love this place, some days it's an absolute miss. My coworkers and I ordered here often and it used to be great everytime. But sometime within the last month it's a hit or miss. With 2 out of the 3 times the tea being completely flavorless, and the boba was complete mush, almost like it just disintegrated. It was mush and chunky at the same time, I immediately spat it out. My coworkers drink also tasted like watered down tea, and she ordered the black sugar milk tea which is usually sweet and full of flavor. My black milk tea also tasted like there was no sugar and watered down. This has happened twice, so I'm not sure if it's just particular people who are working that may not know the recipes well. Overall this place is amazing if the right people are working, but absolutely horrible if not. Sad to see it fluctuate, it makes me scared to order from here even though I used to love to everytime. read more

I was stopping by Fresh Thyme Farmers Market when in the corner of my eye I saw Bambu and I had to stop in. I've visited the location in Madison Heights plenty of times and it's always been a good experience. This location did not disappoint! It appeared to only be one person working but they were very friendly and welcoming. I always knew what I wanted as it's what I pretty much always get, the Mangonada. It's SO good. I almost feel like it has to be the best item on the menu. Overall the sell all types of teas, smoothies, coffee, bubble waffles, macaroons and more! The inside looks very well put together, and very Instagram-esque. I would definitely recommend stopping by. read more

We got takeout. This would be a nice place to sit and hang out. The bathroom was clean. We got two drinks, one with lots of ice and a variety of slippery ingredients. The ingredients were fun, but the ice was somehow flavorless and in the way. So so. The other was a durian shake, with coconut milk instead of condensed milk. That one was excellent. We liked that we could choose to adjust the sugar level. The service was friendly. The drinks a bit expensive. We would get the durian again. read more

I've tried a couple places around the area for bubble tea and this place was by far the best!! I got the lavender milk tea and it was amazing! I love how you can say how sweet you want it and how much boba you want. I got 25% of the normal sweetness and it was perfect! I will definitely be back to try more flavors! read more
