Hidden Gem in Canton on north Canton Center Rd. Beautiful interior very welcoming! Prompt service, kind & patient while making my selection. I ordered the Honeycomb to go, nice to go packing. I did not try any of their drinks as I am not a coffee drinker. I want to support local small businesses so if they have sweets I will try it. After a few bites I realized this is supposed to be warmed up, they did not tell me this. Much better when heated and drizzled with honey. I would give it an 7 out of 10 just not for me. Their other offerings looked amazing so I will go back and try something else soon.
Overall 4 stars. I have been twice now I like this place alot! the staff is very nice here food is delicious, coffee of course is delicious too the vibe is laid back there alot of whites greys and gold looks pretty luxurious i also like the Egyptian writing on the walls the decor is pretty cool the seating area can be full sometimes and it can quickly get loud in there overall good place
Their drinks never disappoint and they always have such good presentation. Their place is very aesthetic. It can get busy here depending on the time of day so sometimes it's fine to get work done here but it's more of like a hangout spot. Service was good and the place is clean.
Had a lovely experience at Matari today! First time stopping in and there were no other customers at 9:30am on Sunday morning. The staff was very friendly and greeted us right away. We ordered two pistachio lattes and two little treats. Somewhat expensive but I will say everything tasted great! Our lattes looked beautiful and were delicious. We enjoyed them along with a lemon cake and a strawberry mouse pastry and not only were they adorable but they were so fresh. The place was relaxing and decor was minimal but everything was clean and so pretty inside. Looking forward to coming back and giving some other items a try!
Great customer service with delicious desserts and coffees. The facility was clean and prices are reasonable
I tried the Yemeni Latte and the Pistachio Latte here and both were solid coffee based drinks. The quality and the options here are great. This place has a nice aesthetic with green accents with the black and white. Pastries look great but didn't get to try them.
Matari Coffee in Canton is a gem for coffee enthusiasts and social butterflies alike. With its great ambiance and beautiful aesthetics, it's the perfect spot to hang out with friends or family, relax for hours, or even bring your laptop and chill. The café boasts a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and plenty of space for meetings or casual gatherings. Matari Coffee's late closing time of 11 PM makes it a convenient and appealing option for evening visits. The vibe is warm and inviting, whether you're there for a productive work session, a laid-back hangout, or quality time with loved ones, Matari delivers on all fronts. With plans for new locations across Michigan, Matari Coffee is set to bring its unique charm to even more communities. This review has been sitting in my drafts for a while, great atmosphere, and consistent experience deserves all the praise. Highly recommended!
Came here for some pastries. We got our order to-go and the server but in the wrong cheesecake slices. Desserts were just ok, nothing special or amazing about them. Plenty of indoor seating, quiet and nice interior.
Stopped by for a warm drink after a heavy dinner. I ordered the Matari Chai Latte. I was unaware it came with pistachios as a garnish on top of the drink. It's not listed on the menu either. After alerting the staff of my allergy they remade the drink for me without the garnish. It was really good! I apologized for not disclosing my allergy and they also apologized for not alerting me of the garnish. Very nice people. The layout of the entire place is very trendy and has a high-end vibe to it. But it's still really comfortable. Great for coffee or tea with friends.
Came here on a weekend to catch up on some work. The inside was clean and spacious. A couple plugs along the side on the wall. I got the Yemeni latte which had a nice balance of spice from the cardamom and nutmeg. Ambiance was a bit loud for but nice place to catch up with friends
This place is so pretty!!! I love the vibes inside the coffee shop, and there's definitely enough seating for you to hang out with friends or get some work done. I got the pistachio latte and my husband got the caramel latte. They were both delicious!! The perfect amount of sweet without it being overwhelming. The only surprise was that it took a lot longer to receive the drink than I expected, but the cup looked beautiful so maybe that's why!
Was visiting friend in Canton stoped in for a quick Coffee and dessert. Pretty place inside with lots of sitting area. Drinks were good dessert was hit and miss. A bit pricey for tea, Coffee and two desserts $30. Service was fast and polite.
Amazing drinks, beautiful location and very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be coming back!

Good coffee but unnecessarily expensive. The interior decor is nice. Middle eastern modern. Service is choppy. Sometimes easement and not others. Initially the coffee and pastry were good. I go there especially for Adeni tea. Slowly the quality declined and for the price. Naa! read more

The coffee was fine. Barista was rude. Went to the back and only came out to take orders w/ an attitude. Unfriendly vibes. Wouldn't recommend! read more

Love all the different coffee and tea options with spices. Really happy there are now more options to the typical cappuccino or pour over. They roast their own beans and they have a pastry chef in house making all the delicious delicacies. Comfortable atmosphere, cool color tones. read more
Love the Yemeni latte here! The spices in the latte make it incredibly fragrant. Matari also serves various sweet treats. Lately, I've been digging their honeycomb pastry. Next time, I really want to try their pistachio cheesecake. The interior is beautiful and cozy. It's a great spot for catching up with friends and studying. Service was also efficient. Will definitely be back! read more
Make the time to visit Matari Coffee! They offer wonderful service in this modern space. The aesthetics are well done! It's a peaceful place that you can find a quiet table to relax. I saw a signature Ocean Latte on their social media page and knew I had to have one! It's worth the drive if you aren't near Canton! I can't wait to return. read more

Matari Coffee is a beautiful cafe with excellent desserts and drinks. The coffee is from Yemen and a lot of the Middle Eastern desserts are unique and cannot be easily found elsewhere. This is one of the best new cafes in Canton. read more

This coffee shop is located in the plaza with its independent parking. Easy to get a spot and walk in. They had a lot of options to choose from, but the service was not super available or attentive. It was very bright in there, though, so the ambience was nice. I end up just getting a sweet dish versus coffee because they couldn't answer the questions I had in regards to some of their specialties. Overall the desert was interesting. I've never had something like this words cake and very very liquidy on the bottom. Not sure if I would go back here, but I think people would like it if I knew what to expect. read more

My friends and I visited Matari Coffee on Sunday, 5/14/23, around noon. For the drink, I ordered the Sweetened Hibiscus Iced Tea. It was super refreshing, fruity, and delightful. I also tried the Honeycomb and the Milk Cake. Both pastries were delicious, however, I favored the Honeycomb slightly more. Overall, I would recommend coming to Matari Coffee for amazing drinks and wonderful pastries. read more
Another Yemeni Tea place thats a Gem! And this is closer to our house than my other favorites in Dearborn. They have the same or a few more food options to go with the Tea It is self service - so was good and fast Their decor on the inside is very modern and this place is super busy Friday and Saturday evenings to late night! read more
Gorgeous coffee stop located in Canton. Wish I found this place sooner! Even from the outside, this coffee spot is beautiful! Once I walked in, I stopped to take in the beautiful decor and amazing smells. As we approached the counter, I couldn't help but drool a little after seeing all the pastries. It took a lot of self control not to order everything, but I'll be back! For drinks, we ordered the mocha and the Matari latte. The Matari latte is green tea based. Honestly, the most beautiful latte that I have ever had. We had our puppy with us, so we had to take everything to go. I would love to come back and enjoy a cup next time! To eat, we ordered a slice of the pistachio basboosa! The combination of pistachio and cheese with my latte. Amazing! read more
What a beautiful shop! It's so warm and inviting, and I can totally work out of there for a few hours. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I opted for the pumpkin cheesecake and matari tea. The cheesecake was light and fluffy, and the tea reminded me of atrawberry milk. It was green tea with rose flavors and topped with pistachio. I'm not a fan of chewing my tea so when I got home, I put it through a strainer to get the nuts out, so next time I'll ask for those to be omitted. I'll definitely be back! Thanks, Yelp Detroit, for the introduction to this local gem! read more

We came here as part of a Yelp event. We had the Mofawar Latte and the Yemeni Latte. Both were flavored with lots of spices like cardamom and cloves. I really liked the fact that you could customize the drinks by ordering with or without sugar or with a non-dairy milk like oat or almond milk. We were going to get one of the Yemeni desserts, but ended up getting a Kashmiri Chai cupcake and a Ras Malai cupcake. They were both really good, but my favorite was the Ras Malai. Another plus, is their carryout containers are not styrofoam. I've found a new place for coffee when I am in Canton. read more
I had never heard of this place nor have I had Yemini coffee before, but that's going to change pronto because it was so smooth and delicious! Matari is designed so chic and modern and the staff working there were so friendly and offered many recommendations as a first timer in there. Their coffees are beautifully made and so flavorful and smooth and their pastries are so decadent and delicious! They can also make their drinks vegan or with non-dairy milk which is a huge plus! The chocolate pistachio croissant was so good as was their honey bread slice. I opted for their Matari chai which again: was smooth, flavorful and not overly flavored with pistachio. Definitely make sure you stop in! read more
This place is very cute, modern, and worth the visit. The place has its roots from Yemen, and so it was a new experience for me. My recommendation is to go with some friends, get a drink you wouldn't normally pick, and order a few different pastry/dessert items and split it! That way you can really try different parts of the menu. #1 recommendation: the honey bread ($5). I would even say you should order 1/person (2 people max). It's so delicious. I got the honey on the side, and recommend to do so, so you can control how sweet it is. #2 recommendation: the white chocolate raspberry macroon. It's big, it's sweet, it has delicious flavors. One of my more favorite items on the menu. #3 recommendation: If you're going for breakfast/brunch or a afternoon snack, I really liked the savory pastries. I got the tomato basil one, and it was packed with flavor and flaky. I liked it. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pistachio cheesecake or the lotus cake, because of the sweetness, however I was going in the morning. It may be a dessert to get after dinner! Both were still great though, and I'm glad I tried them. Overall, I really liked this place. It gets very busy on the weekend. No seats left on a Sunday late morning! Worth going still, and bringing it home. read more
Matari is a great, new place and I couldn't be happier that it's right in my hometown. I've been twice - once in the cafe and once for a take away and both experiences were great! The savory treats and drinks we've tried are all so good and filling. There were so many delicious looking things that we appreciated the recommendations from the very friendly and helpful staff. Foods we've enjoyed so far (in order of our preferences) include: 1. Honeycomb Bread (YUM!) 2. Potato, cheese and herbs pastry 3. Feta cheese, basil, tomato and herb pastry 4. Goat cheese and olive pastry Our drink choices have included a Yemeni Latte, Adeni tea and Mofowar coffee. All are wonderful! Although we have yet to get any desserts, it is fun just looking at the case of their works of art! The place is sparkling clean, well-appointed and comfortable. There are plenty of well-spaced tables inside. The style is sleek with interesting artwork, including a gorgeous mural. It is the perfect place to meet with friends or have a casual date. read more
This cafe is BEAUTIFUL!!!! The tea/coffee are incredibly delicious. You can come to enjoy the ambience or to study and get some work done. Very clean, friendly staff. This place is a must and I am so glad I was able to go. Had the adeni tea and it was beyond amazing (milk based) Also offer milk cakes of different assort and little cupcakes . read more
Really beautiful coffee shop with quality eats! I got the honeycomb which is a cheese stuffed bread pastry, it came with super quality honey. I got some non-caffeine drink too, I got the raspberry "mojito" which is alcohol free and came with sparkling water, raspberry syrup. The decor is super fancy at the coffee shop and I love that the tables were white marble, great attention to detail. read more

Whether it's a business meeting or you just want a place to meet up with friends, this stunning coffee and pastry shop is a great place to go. This is a very cute and modern cafe. I very much enjoy their adani tea and their milk cakes. It's very clean and service is super quick. They are also very organized and it's a great spot to meet with friends or get some work done. It's been a repeat spot for me these past few months! read more

I love this place for the decor and the unique Matari Latte! The pink Matari latte is so delicious, it's the winner of the menu! But then so is their honeycomb bread I've tried Lotus cheesecake, pistachio cheesecake, pistachio basbousa and chocolate macaron and all the desserts are yummy and special! I cannot recommend Matari Coffee co. enough! read more

Such a pretty place for delicious coffee and treats! The decor inside is beautiful. The colors are bold and sleek with accents of gold. It was very clean and organized. There's a decent amount of seating for a coffee shop and plenty of room to study. The coffee was amazing. I had a Yemeni latte which was full of flavor and just enough sweetness for me. It came in a beautiful glass. I also got the rose cake. It's very similar to tres leches texture. It was amazing! The rose was not over powering and it wasn't too sweet either. They have lots of options for food and drink. The staff was very welcoming and helpful! I didn't know what to pick for my dessert but the cashier helped be decide and gave suggestions. If you are in the Canton area this is definitely a place you should try out! read more
I first found this place through a Yelp elite event but have visited several times since then. The first thing I noticed and fell in love with was the atmosphere. They always have quiet instrumental music playing in the background. Visually it's stunning, very modern and yet still manages to be welcoming. The chairs are comfortable and the tables are spaced nicely so you have a bit of privacy. A lot of people bring laptops and work while others are enjoying conversation and delicious pastries. My favorite thing has to be the honeycomb. I always get that, whether to eat there or to go. It's not overly sweet, none of their desserts are, and the cream cheese with the touch of honey is perfection. I also love that you can stay and enjoy good conversation with friends and not feel like your time is limited. Every staff person we have encountered has been so kind and you can see the pride they have while making you a Turkish coffee or heating up your slice of honeycomb. Bonus... They are open until midnight on the weekend. Let me tell you, they are hopping during the late night hours! read more

I am a snob about my chai and this place seeeent me. Too many coffee shops that offer chai use store-bought syrup (fine, whatever) but this place really makes the kind of chai your auntie would make. It's creamy, spicy, and just soooo comforting to the point that I'm eyeing all of my bougie big city coffee shops (YALL CAN DO BETTER.) The atmosphere is very cozy and comforting. Almost oddly luxe but matches their drink and dessert offerings..... I'm going to dream about this place in my sleep :') read more
