Best roll in canton! Super friendly people! Can't wait to to back and try other roles. I did pickup but they do have a quaint dining area that would be perfect for a lunch meet up with a friend or partner

After our favorite sushi place went under new management and everything changed we were on the look out for a new sushi place. We've often driven by and overlooked the location but I'm SO GLAD we finally took a chance and went inside. It's a bit dark, small and intimate but the service is great and love the sushi. The seaweed salad is delicious! The eel is my favorite here and the fill dragon roll is the best!! Really nice salmon and yellowtail. The TYS roll is creative, wish the spicy tuna roll was more spicy. We've been back a few times now and I think this is the official Go-To sushi house!

Service is so friendly. The place is clean. The food is great! I've had here quite a few times and never once disappointed.

Been coming here for years. Wife loves the Bibimbap here. For me, today was the combo Korean Entrees of Soon tofu soup and Kalbi. The Soon Tofu cone with a side of white rice that I add in. It helps to diffuse the heat for me. This is a spicy dish but one that after you are done eating, you feel good. Not bloated or heavy. Flavor is great and I love the egg that gets cooked in the hot pot. The Kalbi is awesome here and consistently good. Our waitress was a bit overwhelmed at times but managed us just fine between the carry out and dinner rush. This is a small restaurant so you might experience a wait if arrive at peak times.

Yum Yum Roll

Went here for a quick lunch. Service was fast, food came out pretty fast and fresh of course. There was a mix up with my soup so I didn't get that on time. I got the yum yum roll and miso soup. The yum yum was very delicious and had everything that I liked on a sushi roll. To be honest, I did not like the way the restaurant was set up. The tables are very close together and a couple ended up sitting on the side from me and boxed me in. The next time I go here, I will pick a different spot or just get my food to go.

Ahi tuna poke bowl

Ahi tuna poke bowl was fantastic! I added eel sauce and spicy mayo to it (not in the picture). I loved that it came on the side so I could add it to my preference. Perfect size for a full meal that didn't leave me hungry.

Small little sushi restaurant with maybe around 8 or so tables! We decided to try because I am in search of a sushi restaurant in the area that is beyond fresh! Server was very nice and great with communication! But the sushi was just okay.. Nothing really stood out but also no complaints! I just didn't get the wow factor I was hoping for!

On the request of my middle son, we went to Kabuki for lunch as it was his birthday. We arrived kind of late, and the restaurant was about 45 minutes before closing time for afternoon. They are closed from like 3-5 pm. After quickly looking through the menu, we got some Miso soup to start off as appetizers. Soup were very tasty. We also ordered the yum yum roll for the birthday boy. I still don't know what that is as I haven't tasted it but he seems to love it. We also ordered a combination of other sushi such as spicy roll, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, California roll. My oldest son wanted a bimbimbap beef bowl. We did enjoy our food as the sushi was very good and the beef dish was flavorful and full of seasoning. Too bad we kind of had to rush as they were about to close for their afternoon session. They had a nice menu available with tons of choices.

Some of the most delicious rolls in Michigan. Better than I was expecting! Each roll we got was unique in its own way. The Aroma roll tasted so fresh and the cilantro in it really made it special. We also got the edamame and shrimp shumai, both were winners in my book.

The Lion King roll on the left and we added the fish eggs things

Amazing sushi!! I was running late and picked up my food 15min passed the time it was ready... I was worried that the food would be soggy (my fault for being late), but NO!! Still fresh!! Just thinking of the rolls, makes my mouth water! We ordered a Lion King roll, so super tasty and filling! DEFINITELY coming back!

Is the rice used in the sushi gluten free? I have celiac disease and I used to eat at kabuki all the time when they were still in Dearborn but I got diagnosed after they closed

I also have celiac disease and was desperately wanting to eat here. So, I called them and they said that they don't provide anything gluten free :( sigh.

We were in the mood for some good ramen, and that's exactly what we got. We started with some steamed dumplings that were pretty solid. For our entree we split the tonkotsu ramen and a few rolls. We really liked all of these and I can't wait to try more things on the menu. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and had great recommendations. The atmosphere was moody in a fun way. Definitely check them out!

The servers were very courteous and always smiling, looked nice in their all black shirt, pants and apron. Modern interior ... elements of wood, vinyl red upholstery, and lots of japanese lanterns hanging by the sushi bar and kitchen area. Lots of elbow room and proportional height of the dining table. And in each table, they would place on top of each sushi plate a thick paper napkin, and chopstick with their logo printed on the front. Very hot water is served in a ceramic sake cup. For a group of three, we ordered the highly recommended Tonkotso Ramen $18, Stir fry noodles $16, and Chicken Katsu Curry Bowl $17. There was a strange smell of the bowl used to served the stir fry noodles and it tasted bland .. but for Ramen noodles, I very much enjoyed enjoyed eating the thin noodles garnished with chashiu, soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, nori and corn - the only downside is the broth was easily absorb by the noodles so you might need to order extra broth for additional $5. The breaded chicken breast is good in proportion enough to feed three and the curry sauce was ok ... maybe a few pieces of carrot would have been great. I do commend how they prepared the egg and created a very nice plating of it on top of the rice. At first, we hesitated to dine in because of the reviews like slow service but actually it seems that the food and drinks were served more or less 10-15 minutes. Just about right when you want your food to be prepared by them the right way. Free parking. Dining area is warm so don't bother wearing a thick jacket inside.

After graduating my girlfriend [now wife] and I would make it a point to try and eat at Matsu-Chan when in the area, even after our first kiddo, and eventually our second. Last year before one of our trips to the area my wife let me know that they were under new management and when I looked at the new menu, I was saddened that all of my favorite items were no longer present, and it seemed that my beloved little slice of Japan was now "just" a ramen shop. While my wife loves and can handle ramen and the broth, I would typically get the different rice bowls, or other entrees because while I love me some good ramen it doesn't work out well for me with the hour or so trip to the area. We'd get some rolls, takoyaki, and other appetizers to share around the table before digging into our main entrees. With the increased prices, and fewer options, I will end up going to any of the multitude of places [Aji-ten is usually our #2] to get my kick. I'll miss the little shop and the times I've had, like perusing the manga while waiting for a table. I wish the old owners the best, and the new management as well, especially if it was a familial transfer, but Matsu-Chan is not for me anymore. My wife will eventually get up there and let me know how it is, but for now, I'm just happy that a little bento shop opened near my workplace run by two first gen transplants, so I can at least get my fix without the drive.

Others following us added their names to the waitlist. The restaurant is small with just a handful of tables. One chef, it appears, prepared all the meals. I barely glanced at the menu; I already knew I was having the ramen. The only question was which one. My friend selected the eel bowl while I had the miso pork soup. The latter was served with sliced pork, bamboo shoots, fish cake, and seaweed. The broth was full of flavor; I enjoyed every slurp. I appreciated that the meal was sizeable and inexpensive - I was able to stretch it to two meals. We did not linger given the number of people waiting.

Ichiban Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar - Shrimp Tempura

This Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar has been on the main strip of Canton Township for well over…read morea decade now. It's a standalone structure with its own dedicated parking lot which was a plus. Upon entering, you informed the host if you wanted hibachi cooking for your meal or not. That would take you to the left or the right (hibachi) dining room for seating. The interior decor was lit up with neon lighting. It made the ambiance feel like you were stuck in the past. My friend and I came for a weekday lunch and elected not to do hibachi. During our visit, we were the only ones seated in the left dining room. The menu was contained within a multi-page booklet with lots of categories. Maybe that was part of the problem at Ichiban as the choices were too diverse. I ended up picking one of the five selections from the Udon Noodles or Soba part of the menu. The Nabe Yaki Udon was made up of udon noodles in a soup with shrimp tempura, chicken, fish cake, vegetable, and a poached egg. While waiting for our main courses, a complimentary dish of salad with ginger dressing was provided to each of us. My food came in two parts with the two pieces of shrimp tempura being served on its own dish. The bowl of noodles was placed on a plate as a holder. For $19.99, the portion size was small. The broth was mild and non-spicy while the rest was fairly standard. The tempura was the best part of my lunch which was not what I had hoped for. What led me to downgrade our dining experience to below three stars was the 20% gratuity that was added to our check. Nowhere was it stated on the menu that such a policy would be implemented. I rarely see this for a party of two as most restaurants don't automatically include a prespecified tip unless the group is six or more. The practice is also more customary at upscale establishments which Ichiban Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar was clearly not.

The service was excellent. Perhaps I'll return to try the hibachi.
