The best sushi in Novi, MI. Rolls are unique, flavorful and high quality. Great prices for the amount of food. Got take out this time around but previously when dining in the service has been spectacular with a fun vibe. I highly recommend Shiro for dine in or take out :)

Just finished a lovely lunch at Shiro! The sun was beaming in the front windows and the atmosphere was serene. Outside, winter has gripped the area, inside, it was warm, bright and comfortable. Quickly greeted by staff. I have found Shiro to have efficient and consistent service. This was true today as well. Our food was quite nice, started with the side salad and miso soup. We had a few sushi rolls, the kappa, California and mushroom rolls. We ordered the Ebi Shumai: fried. For our lunch, the chicken katsu, fried so nicely and very tender. The tempura udon was perfectly hot, tasty and delicious! This visit brightened the day and a great start to the week!

Amazing hidden gem! They have Rodney Strong for a house glass pour; they have delicious food for an amazing price and the service is impeccable! Cant wait to come back with my friends! Beautiful building!

The freshest and most delicious sushi I've had in Michigan so far. Not usually a fan of yellowtail but this restaurant changed my mind; it was so buttery, and of course, salmon sashimi is my favorite in general so I liked that the best. But honestly everything tasted of high quality it's hard to pick out what I liked the most . Would definitely visit again!

I staff was very pleasant. I recommend a reservation we did not have one but the wait wasn't bad they had to make sure they were staffed accordingly for reservations first. The place is an old house if you like old homes and they try to keep a lot of the original floors, windows and walls. The food was so flavorful and fresh. The Chilean seabass had the most amazing miso cream sauce it went to so well with the seabass the roasted vegetables and the spinach rice. The sushi rolls were cut to bite si that you didn't stuff your mouth and again very fresh. The shishito peppers were okay very garlicky but not really spicy and they were very soft. The veggie gyoza were very good they were very light and crispy the dipping sauce was tasty. Very good atmosphere and service the food was wonderful.

It was a night we both needed and Sushi was calling my name. I found this unique Sushi bar in a renovated old mansion in Novi. They have very limited seating so I would recommend reservations. We ordered a few appetizers, the Lobster Spring Rolls and Pork Dumplings. They were both very good. The spring rolls were served with mashed potatoes which I wasn't expecting! lol My friend doesn't eat raw fish so he ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and I had an entire roll of sushi all to myself!!!!! Can you say winning!!!! Of course we wanted Saki and my friend surprised me with a fancy bottle of Saki! It was delicious! Ashely was our server and she did a fantastic job recommending taking care of us. We had great food, a lot laughs and just enjoyed a random Wednesday night!

This place is the perfect place for a dinner. Started out with the amazing Fatty Roll- this is a must get! The miso chicken is such a creamy savory dish that has a unique spinach rice on the side. I loved every bite of it. The chicken katsu was crispy to perfection. They have a wide selection of drinks & were affordable. I got the raspberry cosmo and it was sweet & strong just how I liked it. The server was really nice and was attentive to all our requests. They even brought out a free birthday dessert. This place is a nice mansion and has such an amazing homey but fancy vibe. This is definitely one of my favorites in the Metro Detroit area!

Heard many good things about this restaurant, but it was okay experience at least for our visit. We had a big lunch with seven people on a Thursday. Service was very slow. Did not come to take orders, had to go find a server and once order was placed, the time it took to have our food out was another 30-40 minutes. Food was not as great as we all expected, but more of meeting expectations of any sushi places in the US of mid size cities.

Have been here a handful of times and always enjoy their sushi. Started off with the shiro salad which has a great ginger dressing. Had a lot of different sushi rolls but loved the red dragon and the salmon sunset. Gyoza is super yummy too. Place is super cool Inside and has an interesting haunted history

service and sushi rolls were both great! We came a few minutes after they opened at 4 for an early dinner and got sat right away. The dressing on the salad is delicious as well as the spicy garlic edamame! The veggie rolls were refreshing but the spicy mayo wasn't very spicy, almost tasted more sweet :/

Easily the worst service I have ever experienced, but the food makes up for it. Met my friend here for her birthday dinner, and we weren't greeted by a server until over an hour later, but only after my friend got up and asked another server what was going on. Took another 15 minutes for that server to come back to our table and tell us there was a mixup at the hostess stand so we never had a server to begin with, but that she would be taking care of us. We had plenty of time to look over the menus, so ordered right away. We ordered the spicy garlic edamame, Red Tornado Roll, Las Vegas Roll, and Angry Bird Roll. All of the rolls were amazing. Took a while for the edamame to come, and was severely undercooked. We were so hungry though so didn't bother to say anything about it (and it's not like our server was anywhere to be found anyways). My water cup stayed empty for most of the night. I asked for two sides of spicy mayo with our sushi, and we were halfway through with our sushi when we had to ask a different server to bring some for us. Then when our tiramisu came, our server left the dessert at the very edge of our table... and she kind of pushed that plate against the dirty dishes that were on the table to make room for it. She didn't even bother to clear anything off the table....we were shocked, to say the least, but just ended up stacking all the empty plates and pushed them to the side in order to make some room for us to share the dessert. I think I will be back someday because the sushi rolls were just that good, but being so neglected by our server the entire night left such a bad taste in our mouths. And never once did we get an apology, so not sure what was going on. Hopefully no one else has this bad of an experience!

Stopped by here as my first meal in Detroit! It was alright. I have high expectations, but honestly it was decent! I'm from a town that has high quality sushi. The service was great and quick. I did find it odd that they told us they were running out of sushi rice at 8pm. But they did close at 9:30pm. So, I understand.

This restaurant is very unique and inside a beautiful preserved mansion. The server was very good, especially with two small children. I got the teriyaki chicken and thought it was alright, but maybe more expensive than it's worth. It came with plain white rice and some cooked cabbage. I also got a miso soup and ginger salad that were similar to what I've gotten at other Japanese restaurants. They did prepare a chocolate mousse/ice cream dish with a candle for my birthday on my friend's request, so that was sweet.

They went above and beyond with designing up the interior space to make it appear like you might be in a small alleyway grabbing some food, very night market-style! Our waiter - Ruby!!! - was absolutely incredible from start to finish and given that I came here with 2 of my friends and it was all of our first times, she was able to break everything down for us succinctly and clearly. There is definitely a time limit per table - 90 minutes - and that pressure is put on you right away, but it ended up being the perfect amount of time so we didn't feel entirely rushed at the end of the meal by any means. It was just a lot at the top that essentially as soon as you are seated at your table, your time begins! So if you haven't been here before, I would definitely recommend taking a look at the menu ahead of time if you can just to get a bit of the lay of the land and make that start of the process easier. We had to choose right away which level of dining we were going to go for and thankfully, my group and I are very decisive so it wasn't a long conversation to decide (especially given the entire table needs to do the same level as well. Ultimately, we went with the Gold Wagyu set, which gives you Japanese Wagyu! I have heard the basic wagyu set (American wagyu) is not good, but that the Silver Wagyu set (Australian wagyu) is definitely decent. For our first time, we wanted to ball out and it was absolutely worth it! Each set gives you specific limited items as well and the ones at the Gold level - especially the wagyu nigiri - were to die for! Service was crazy fast, we placed an order for all of our meats and other side dishes we might be interested in on the tablet and then went up to the counter to get our sauces and other side dishes. By the time we got back to the table, all of our ordered items were there in a tower at our table and we basically only got up once or twice after that to replenish side dishes for the rest of the time. Everything we had was DELICIOUS, but the particular stars aside from the wagyu nigiri, were all the Japanese wagyu dishes AND the chicken skin gyoza. Holy guacamole we got so many of those lil chicken skin buggers because they were ADDICTING and I have never had anything quite so yummy before! I completely get the hype of Chubby Cattle! It is unlike hotpot anywhere else in Michigan right now so is definitely a place you want to check out if you're a lover of the hotpot style of dining. So fun, such a great time! I will definitely be back soon!

My biggest con about this place is the layout of the restaurant. My party made reservations in advance for 8 people. Since this was our first time there, we weren't aware that all booths were only for 4 people, with no larger accommodations available. Despite our reservation, we ended up having to wait about 30 minutes for two tables to open up. They weren't even in the same part of the restaurant, unfortunately splitting up our party for our entire stay. The worst part is that three of the booths are directly in front of the door. It's Michigan, so every time that door is opened you are blasted with cold air to the point that everyone was eating with winter jackets on. I was seated in the second row into the restaurant and was still chilled every time the door was opened. Each table is supposed to have a plate deposit where it keeps track of how much you are charged. However, our table's plate deposit was broken and we were told to keep our plates on our table and add them up manually. This led to us having to keep a bunch of dirty plates in piles on the cramped table while we ate, not appetizing. This led to us being unable to pay on the tv, and to pay with one of the waiters. We handed the waiter our credit card to pay, and they ended up disappearing for about 45 minutes. We had to call over several people to track down the person that took our credit card so we could finally leave (the dirty plates stayed the entire time on the table). The sushi was yummy but those prices really add up quick. Each plate is almost 4$ and has two rolls each so you're left to either eat until you're full and have a high bill / keep track of your bill and end up hungry. Overall had a fun but frustrating experience. I've tried it once so I will recommend others to skip this place and head over to One World Market or head over to Sharaku in West Bloomfield instead.
