    Shrimp Tempura Soba Hot Soup

One of our favorite Japanese restaurants in Novi, MI. Excellent value. Nice selection of sushi and hot dishes. They have Takoyaki which is one of favorite appetizer. Not easy to find. Clientele is mostly Japanese which is good sign. I really loved the Katsudon bowl. Takoyaki has a ratio of octopus to batter. Sushi is okay for the price considering how far we are from the ocean. We prefer the hot dishes here. They have soba noodles here which you can't always find either at more Americanized restaurants. Service is friendly and efficient with a smile. No annoying robots.

Sushi Sampler. Had this for lunch. I prefer all salmon. The California rolls were delicious.

Sushi sampler for lunch. I prefer all salmon. California rolls were delicious. They are authentic but I prefer all maguro if possible.

I was really disappointed with this place as I had heard good reviews. Top disappointments were they were not GLUTEN FREE FRIENDLY. No GF soy sauce, nor food selections. Rolls were loosely made. See pictures. Waiter was immensely under trained. He didn't any any answers to any of our questions. He had to go ask multiple times for answers which is fine, most likely he was knew and young but not once did a supervisor come check on us even though our waiter was very new. The fish did taste fresh and the ingredients were good but cut in a lazy way. Cucumbers were unusually cut thick. Presentation was crappy but over all waiter was nice. I would not return due to their lack of gluten free options. Definitely needs some modernization with dietary friendly needs.

Parking along the outside in front and also within the under ground parking garage. If you park in the underground parking, you need to use the elevator A to go up. Service is decent, but forgetful. Prices have gone up quite a lot in the last 6 months. Food is good, just pricier than before.

I like Oishi and I would like to frequent the restaurant more often. I especially enjoy the large list of appetizers that are mostly Japanese. Growing up with a Japanese Mom, I recognize and feel familiar with many of these items. They bring me back and they are not offered at many places these days. Overall, the food is very good. The ebi shumai is a favorite! Their ramen is good, I just wish they served it in bigger bowls with more delicious broth. The appetizers can amount to a nice diverse feast and allows for a lot of variety. The service has been attentive and friendly. The place gets busy at lunch. They also have nice specials easy day.

I used to come here relatively frequently for their ramen + fried rice combos, but their ramen just went really downhill: cheaper on the amount of noodles/pork, and super salty. Their fried rice, however, has always been tasty. I've gotten sushi here before and wasn't impressed. It was basically the quality of something you'd get at an American grocery store, and it's expensive too! This time, I ordered the pork fried rice entree and enjoyed it. The pork and vegetables were finely chopped and distributed evenly throughout. The rice itself had a great wok-seared flavor. The portion size was also generous and it came with a bowl of miso soup. For $9.95, it wasn't too bad. Service was okay. The waitress was friendly but a bit slow to bring drinks. She also put my friend's drink on my bill, but he just paid me back in cash so we didn't have to wait for her to fix it (we had a movie to catch). This place isn't my first choice, but it'll do in a pinch.

I came here for lunch on a Sat with two of my good friends and I'd definitely come back for lunch. My one friend who is a frequent diner here says it's the best way to experience this place because of you come at night it's quite expensive. I had the Udon and sushi lunch special. It came with udon noodles, scallions, sweet tofu and some sort of seaweed in a decent but lite on flavor broth. It came with three pieces of sushi salmon, shrimp and tuna. All were fresh and the salmon in particular was very tasty. This lunch special comes in at $8.95 and you get a good amount of food for that price. I also ordered a rainbow row which is my go to roll at every sushi place I go to. This one gets a few extra points for the eel portion which was really good.

They went above and beyond with designing up the interior space to make it appear like you might be in a small alleyway grabbing some food, very night market-style! Our waiter - Ruby!!! - was absolutely incredible from start to finish and given that I came here with 2 of my friends and it was all of our first times, she was able to break everything down for us succinctly and clearly. There is definitely a time limit per table - 90 minutes - and that pressure is put on you right away, but it ended up being the perfect amount of time so we didn't feel entirely rushed at the end of the meal by any means. It was just a lot at the top that essentially as soon as you are seated at your table, your time begins! So if you haven't been here before, I would definitely recommend taking a look at the menu ahead of time if you can just to get a bit of the lay of the land and make that start of the process easier. We had to choose right away which level of dining we were going to go for and thankfully, my group and I are very decisive so it wasn't a long conversation to decide (especially given the entire table needs to do the same level as well. Ultimately, we went with the Gold Wagyu set, which gives you Japanese Wagyu! I have heard the basic wagyu set (American wagyu) is not good, but that the Silver Wagyu set (Australian wagyu) is definitely decent. For our first time, we wanted to ball out and it was absolutely worth it! Each set gives you specific limited items as well and the ones at the Gold level - especially the wagyu nigiri - were to die for! Service was crazy fast, we placed an order for all of our meats and other side dishes we might be interested in on the tablet and then went up to the counter to get our sauces and other side dishes. By the time we got back to the table, all of our ordered items were there in a tower at our table and we basically only got up once or twice after that to replenish side dishes for the rest of the time. Everything we had was DELICIOUS, but the particular stars aside from the wagyu nigiri, were all the Japanese wagyu dishes AND the chicken skin gyoza. Holy guacamole we got so many of those lil chicken skin buggers because they were ADDICTING and I have never had anything quite so yummy before! I completely get the hype of Chubby Cattle! It is unlike hotpot anywhere else in Michigan right now so is definitely a place you want to check out if you're a lover of the hotpot style of dining. So fun, such a great time! I will definitely be back soon!

The premade food choices are growing by the day. They are always adding to their offerings with new flavors and tastes. I started coming to One world market in 1997 when it was first home by a husband and wife team. It was very special at that time to have a Japanese focused grocery store and I was so happy to have one in the Novi area. This has been my go-to for decades now. When it was transitioning from private ownership to the Noble Village group, owned by True World group, there was a transitional decline, thankfully, that didn't last long and things are developing very nicely. I hear even more growth is on the horizon as they establish an even greater presence in the building next door. I am also thankful that the integrity and the high-quality is very much present and everything they do. The service is always top notch and they try to open up a lot of lanes so people get through quickly because it is busier than ever. The word is definitely out. I've seen a lot of posts on social media and it's bringing in an even greater crowds, which is fantastic! Note: the on-line ordering is also so convenient and their sushi platters are high-level!

He did change our reservation time twice for us but that was the extent of my good experience here. Because of traffic, the friend meeting me was a little late so I sat alone for a little bit. I told our waitress that... she came back a little bit later saying "are you ready to order" .... My friend still hadn't come and I already told her that. The thing is, I understand forgetting so that's what I thought happened. But it became clear that her attitude was intentional. While I was sitting alone, I noticed an ant crawling on my table that I had to kill & I was seated next to some windows and there was subsequently a FLY that I also had to kill ("but you didn't have to kill it"... shut up yes I did) I also had a sushi menu that was already written on. I dont know weird. I understand the appeal of the old house converted into a nice restaurant but it still just smelled like old house and lowkey like rotting wood. The windows also were clean. I dont know it was just bad ambience until it got dark. NOW THE FOOD... The miso soup was my favorite thing on the menu. So that is saying something. My two rolls were underwhelming at best. The fish was chewy.. but a bad chewy. There was barely any fish. The cucumber kimchi was bad. The cucumbers were not good quality. It felt like they were old actually. At the end, our waitress was lowkey rushing us. I swear it was the most I had seen her all night. She set the bill down, would split it for us... she said she'd split it after we put our cards down... what does that mean??? So whatever, me and my friend just paid 50/50 on the bill. (Even tho the menu expressly said that they can't split bills for parties of more than 8). We were only two people. Whatever. Dont come here unless you're just interested in cute vibes.
