One thing I really enjoy about this place is the realistic underwater screens they've added to the walls--it gives the whole space a relaxing, immersive vibe. We started with an order of fried dumplings as our appetizer and then shared four sushi rolls... but we were still hungry, so we ended up ordering four more! That's a total of eight rolls between the three of us. We like to mix it up--shrimp, fish, crab, and lobster rolls--so we get a little bit of everything. We always make sure to include a Philadelphia roll and of course, the classic California roll. The rolls were delicious as always, and we even had a to-go box of leftovers, which I brought home to my husband. The total came to about $120, but considering we mostly ordered specialty rolls, I think $30 per person was very reasonable. We waited an hour to be seated with a Reservation and another 2 hours at a dirty section before a chef came to prepare our food. Chef was not interactive like many are he just cooked served and well did a couple tricks and that was it. Steak was grossly overcooked way too much rice the entire experience ruined what was supposed to be a Birthday Mother's day celebration. 5 people too much rice small portions of overcooked food for $250. Sushi is one of those types of foods that is either good or is not. Strangely enough (in my opinion) the food at Oyaki was neither (it was not bad but it was not good) something about the flavors was off, if I had to pinpoint where the taste was off I would say it was the rice. Oyaki sushi never disappoints. I have a few sushi places by me and this is definitely my preferred spot. I have been to Oyaki many times in the past few years and it is always very clean, has a friendly staff, and not over done decor to say. Also since I am vegan their menu has a few good options to choose from (I will usually order the A2C rolls, but before I became plant based I would really enjoy their Michigan roll and a lot of their sashimi. So if you're in the Dearborn or Dearborn Heights area and have a taste for some sushi this could be your place. read more

Had dinner here 1 night that we were in town for a trade show at the Suburban Collection. There was about 10 of us. They accommodated us well. Service was very attentive and quick. We ordered a few appetizers and they were out soon. And dinner was out soon after. I got the spicy California roll and the chicken Yaki. It was very good and hot (as in temp). I enjoyed them. I had the sashimi lunch and thought it was okay. It was missing the melt in the mouth feel I want from high grade sushi. I am always a little skeptical of sashimi cut in perfect rectangles. We had reservations so we got seated as soon as we showed up, we ordered a green tea to start and it is very good, we then ordered appetizers and I had the Miso Soup, Crab Rangoon and a small house salad. So first thing I'm gonna say is I will not be getting the White Castle Roll ever again, it was NOT delicious and it looked like a mess and it tasted like a mess as well. 3/10 Now on to the Las Vegas Roll, this roll was delicious however the breading was a little dry & a little too thick on the bread. 7/10 Now for the Fireball Roll, this roll was very delicious, it had a ton of flavor and everything inside the roll flowed together perfectly. 10/10 I had to say that the food was really good here, the staff is AMAZING!! The actual place itself seemed clean. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars was due to the cleanliness of plates. They're incredibly sticky and don't seem like they've been properly washed through an industrial dishwasher (my plate had food on it still). Service was relatively fast but nobody checked back in again after we placed our order. Although, our entire order did come out in about 7 minutes. The food overall was definitely phenomenal. My boyfriend and I came here due to reading reviews on Yelp. The Chicken Yaki udon noodles were incredibly flavorful. The portion was definitely worth the $15. The vegetables were cooked just enough that it wasn't too soft, but still had a slight crunch when biting into the dish. The Michigan Roll was a 6/10. We were thrown by the small slice of lemon that was on top. Whenever we picked a piece up, the roll would fall apart so it wasn't properly wrapped. The Cobra Roll was by far our favorite. It had the perfect amount of soft shell crab with eel, avocado, and crab salad. The sauce that was drizzled on top paired with it perfectly.
