Finally got a chance to try Nami! I was definitely influenced via social media. Now, this place isn't the cheapest (but what is nowadays). However, I feel they are fairly priced. Sushi tacos, you get 2. I tried the marinated salmon. The flavor was good but, FOR ME, I wasn't a fan of the abundance of fish in the taco (it's a texture thing). Aside from that, the taco was still crispy by the time I made it home 14 mins later & packed with flavor. The push up sushi roll was my favorite. Such a cool idea! The Kani (sp) salad was cool too. The crab could have been shredded up more but that's nothing to complain about. Lastly was the strawberry and cream milk bread! Spectacular, give me 14 of em!! We ordered two of these desserts that everyone seemed to be talking about, so we had to give them a try. The wait was about 30 minutes, which wasn't surprising because almost everyone there appeared to be ordering the same two flavors. When we finally received them, the portion sizes were actually pretty generous. The banana flavor tasted very similar to banana pudding, rich, creamy, and definitely on the sweeter side. If you like banana pudding desserts, you would probably enjoy this one. My personal favorite was the strawberry and cream. It had a really smooth, creamy texture and a fresh, sweet flavor that wasn't overpowering. Both desserts had a crust that tasted like cinnamon sugar, which added a really nice touch and extra flavor. I went for 1 thing - the milk toast. I'll be honest I've been watching the viral videos and I was not sure what to expect. This is a food truck court outside of an old mall. Trucks outside and inside is Nami, a coffee shop and a boba shop. Also plenty of seats inside. Outside has seats too. It's a cute concept. So I got in line around 3p. There are rules to this viral milk toast. Walk in after 2p for it unless you called the day before to order. But the hours are long. You can get till 10p and they are open till like 1a for sushi. Anyway I placed my order for the egg salad toast, strawberry toast and chocolate toast. I did not get the crème brûlée banana or the matcha toast. I got it in about 15 mins. The staff is very nice and helpful. Cost is about $8 for everything but the egg salad that is $10.25. It is a half piece of milk toast deep fried with egg salad or cream filling. It is super crunchy and the egg salad is savory. It was good. It's about 5 good bites. Mostly top filled. The dessert ones like the strawberry cream and chocolate toast are also about 5 bites. Sweet but not overly or sick sweet. Light and airy. They were all good. Would I do it again. Probably not. 1x is good. The fried milk toast was very crunchy and very greasy to me. It kinda took away from the fillings. It was a cool try. It tasted ok in general but just a lot of grease left over for me. Try for the novelty of it. But now it's out of my system. read more

We came here after seeing some posts on socials, featuring the Japanese fried cream sandwiches and sushi tacos. We came on a Sunday afternoon and none of the items I listed were available. Something about a 2 hour wait. Totally nuts that not 1 of those items were available. They weren't even busy, as I watched as orders became available. We ordered 2 rolls, they were nothing special, pretty ordinary, but the packaging was nice. 2 rolls: -Shrimp tempura, cucumber and cream cheese + spicy mayo -California roll I can't see myself every ordering from here again, what a disappointment. read more

Okay so first of all I'd like to mention that we only ordered the egg salad sandwich and strawberries and cream sandwich. On God, they're phenomenal! I went back up and got a second strawberry and cream sandwich to go, this time with extra strawberries, and let's just say it barely survived the car ride home. To put it in perspective, I drove 40 minutes to try this and I'm trying to figure out any excuse to make it out to Dearborn in the very near future. It's located in a cozy communal food court type of setting with plenty of options. Officially found a new takeout/delivery sushi spot for the Detroit area! This came up on DoorDash and looked great. We tried 6 different rolls including some specialty. The nami signature was excellent, and the baked roll was great too. Each roll was fresh, flavorful, and well enjoyed. We also enjoyed the miso soup! Nami Sushi is the bomb, and it is likely the best food that I've ever experienced from a food truck. The rolls are exceptional, fresh, and mouthwatering. The food is prepared in a timely fashion. The parking can be a little challenging when crowded as it is on a busy intersection with no street parking. You have to park in one of the lots off of the alley way. Prices are comparable to other sushi restaurants, and the food is worth every penny. My favorites are the Red Wave with shrimp tempura, avocado, and a spicy tuna mix; and the signature roll with salmon, tuna, and crab mix. Do yourself a favor and order the roasted garlic mayo. It is delicious on everything. I recommend going during low traffic hours. read more

I saw a tik tok about this place and decided to give them a try while in the area. I was told to order via the QR code and it will be brought to my table. I ordered the udon noodle soup, firecracker roll with salmon and the tempura bake. It took almost 30 minutes for my order to be ready. However, there were only 2 people working and they were busy. The udon didn't look appetizing but it was delicious. The broth was so flavorful and the noodles were a great texture. The rolls were great as well. On the way home from the grocery store off of Outer Dr, I spotted a very unique looking food truck and immediately thought "what in the world is that!?" I got home, unloaded the weekly food shopping and told the husband "get in the car, we need to investigate". We headed back to the truck and were delighted to see that it was a SUSHI TRUCK!!! The aesthetic is casual yet approachable class which is carried out in the truck design, logo, menu, and packaging. We got their Signature roll, Caterpillar roll, and the Mt. Fuji roll and went home to chomp it all up (they do have a deal with Custard Co. to used their tables if you want to dine al fresco). Guys, I am not exaggerating when I say it was like high-end amazing... Fresh, flavorful, and phenomenal. The Mt. Fuji roll was my favorite, the rice was perfect all around, and one of the rolls has shrimp and I normally hate the texture of shrimp. In this case the shrimp was just so dang good, it made me wonder what I've been missing my whole life! I will not be shocked when this becomes a super successful dine in restaurant one day and I'll be first in line to make a reservation to take my friends for the best sushi of their lives. read more

I ordered Nami sushi just a few minutes ago and it's FANTASTIC. I ordered the Inari nigiri and Nami garden roll. I had zero clue what the inari nigiri was when I ordered it, except that it was veg friendly. It's a tofu pocket with some tasty rice inside! So. Good. The Nami garden roll is gorgeous with beautiful, fresh avocado and a delightful Yuzu marmalade on top. I'm coming here again. Also, my order was placed online and ready 10 minutes early... just as I walked up. The two men inside were super friendly, too! Please go check them out. Oh! I almost forgot. They give you real soy sauce instead of that awful brown water you get from typical takeout places. A nice touch! read more

We totally found this truck by accident and I am so beyond happy we did. I was immediately greeted and had my order taken, he let me know in advance before paying I'd have a 15 minute wait which I always appreciate. I order one Salmon Omusubi and one Red Tuna Omusubi and I am drooling while eating these. They are so fresh and packed with flavor. I am beyond impressed, sushi rice is cooked perfectly, the salmon and tuna are melt in your mouth fresh. I cannot wait to go back any try more of their menu.
