Combination w tempura $15.00 on menu

Food was okay. But I really didn't like they used the menus that have old price on it, bug charge d "newer price" Felt like I was scammed, as they never notified until I pointed out on the bill.

Not brown rice. Michigan roll, salmon roll, tuna avocado roll.

The food was good. A Little too much sugar in the sushi rice but the fish was fresh. I'm only giving them 2 stars because of what happened... I was calling around to different sushi places to see if they offered their rolls using brown rice due to a specific diet my dr has me on. I was excited when they told me yes I could order my rolls with brown rice because Happy Sushi is close to my house and I was happy to support a small business. I went and picked my order up and when I got home I was disappointed to find that my rolls had white rice. I had to get back to work so I couldn't go back. Luckily my husband likes sushi so I left it for him and I had to scrounge around for something else.

I ordered takeout to bring to a friend. The ambiance I walked into when picking up the order was so peaceful and relaxing! I would love to come back and dine-in for the environment alone! Wow! I was blown away. The loud traffic and construction during rush hour was left on the other side of the door. It was quiet and calming inside. We ate four different rolls and it was delicious! Diane, Dragon, Dynamite, and spicy California - would totally get them all again.

It was beyond difficult to understand the woman that answered the phone, nearly impossible. I did manage to thrift out that they are open until 9PM and are open for dine-in after several tries. The word from the other tables is there is no sushi chef working here tonight. Ok. Should be interesting. They made the table in front of us incorrectly Ordered 2 Las Vegas roll, no king crab today, a dragon roll, spicy scallop roll, 2 ginger salad and an edamame. $46.90. They were skimpy about the sriracha, I asked for more. The woman brought the whole bottle for us to fill up ourselves. The dragon roll wasn't my favorite, way too thick for my liking. The scallop roll is okay, different. The Las Vegas roll is the better of the 3 rolls, but every few rolls something would taste odd, almost musty or moldy to me. Could not quite place what was off though. Service was ok.

Sashimi on the right, spider roll half eaten, suspect Novi roll

My husband and I came here on a recommendation of a friend. We are arrive at about 5:30 PM on Thursday and there was nobody else in the restaurant. Should I have taken that as a sign? I still don't know. We were greater properly and given menus. The menus have seen better days. They were changes made to the sushi menus and they could've used a good wipe down. The server answered all of our questions and we placed our order. The miso soup arrived warm, not hot. But it tasted pretty good and I finished it. The side salad with ginger dressing was bigger than I expected. The ginger dressing was not the best that I've ever had nor was it the worst I've ever had (I felt maybe the dressing was more carrot than ginger). Personally I would've liked a more gingery taste to the dressing. We ordered sashimi and that was very fresh tasting. We also ordered a spider roll and that was quite good. We also ordered the Novi roll and this is pretty much the first time in history that I have never finished a roll. I really did not care for the seafood topping - it tasted a little funny to me. Maybe not spoiled but maybe it was on its last day. Or maybe it was the combination of ingredients that was not appealing. Bummer as there was a lot of that topping/salad on top of the roll. I scrapped that off and ate the main part of the roll. Personally, I will not be back as I really only enjoyed the sashimi. Hubby said he would come back but he is on his own for that trip.

We ordered special combo : Tempura udon with California rolls & inari Tonkotsu ramen with spicy tuna rolls & inari I liked the tempura udon better. It had more flavorful broth than the tonkotsu ramen. The sushi was pretty good.

The Philadelphia roll at Happy Suhsi is a delightful blend of cream cheese and salmon, creating a rich and savory experience. The California roll has fresh avocado and crab. The salmon avocado roll is also a solid choice.

One of the things I love about coming to my hometown is being so close to this restaurant! I can safely say I've been about 50 times at least in my life. It's nothing fancy on the inside, but the sushi is great!! I used to come here years ago and it was awesome, but for some reason the quality worsened over time, and now it seems to have shifted again into being great quality! Don't expect great service (it's usually not) or any sort of fancy ambiance, but the sushi is great, fresh, and very affordably priced! I don't get any of the fancy rolls (I stick to the simple ones, so can't speak much about those), but will always stay loyal to Happy Sushi :)

They went above and beyond with designing up the interior space to make it appear like you might be in a small alleyway grabbing some food, very night market-style! Our waiter - Ruby!!! - was absolutely incredible from start to finish and given that I came here with 2 of my friends and it was all of our first times, she was able to break everything down for us succinctly and clearly. There is definitely a time limit per table - 90 minutes - and that pressure is put on you right away, but it ended up being the perfect amount of time so we didn't feel entirely rushed at the end of the meal by any means. It was just a lot at the top that essentially as soon as you are seated at your table, your time begins! So if you haven't been here before, I would definitely recommend taking a look at the menu ahead of time if you can just to get a bit of the lay of the land and make that start of the process easier. We had to choose right away which level of dining we were going to go for and thankfully, my group and I are very decisive so it wasn't a long conversation to decide (especially given the entire table needs to do the same level as well. Ultimately, we went with the Gold Wagyu set, which gives you Japanese Wagyu! I have heard the basic wagyu set (American wagyu) is not good, but that the Silver Wagyu set (Australian wagyu) is definitely decent. For our first time, we wanted to ball out and it was absolutely worth it! Each set gives you specific limited items as well and the ones at the Gold level - especially the wagyu nigiri - were to die for! Service was crazy fast, we placed an order for all of our meats and other side dishes we might be interested in on the tablet and then went up to the counter to get our sauces and other side dishes. By the time we got back to the table, all of our ordered items were there in a tower at our table and we basically only got up once or twice after that to replenish side dishes for the rest of the time. Everything we had was DELICIOUS, but the particular stars aside from the wagyu nigiri, were all the Japanese wagyu dishes AND the chicken skin gyoza. Holy guacamole we got so many of those lil chicken skin buggers because they were ADDICTING and I have never had anything quite so yummy before! I completely get the hype of Chubby Cattle! It is unlike hotpot anywhere else in Michigan right now so is definitely a place you want to check out if you're a lover of the hotpot style of dining. So fun, such a great time! I will definitely be back soon!

The premade food choices are growing by the day. They are always adding to their offerings with new flavors and tastes. I started coming to One world market in 1997 when it was first home by a husband and wife team. It was very special at that time to have a Japanese focused grocery store and I was so happy to have one in the Novi area. This has been my go-to for decades now. When it was transitioning from private ownership to the Noble Village group, owned by True World group, there was a transitional decline, thankfully, that didn't last long and things are developing very nicely. I hear even more growth is on the horizon as they establish an even greater presence in the building next door. I am also thankful that the integrity and the high-quality is very much present and everything they do. The service is always top notch and they try to open up a lot of lanes so people get through quickly because it is busier than ever. The word is definitely out. I've seen a lot of posts on social media and it's bringing in an even greater crowds, which is fantastic! Note: the on-line ordering is also so convenient and their sushi platters are high-level!

He did change our reservation time twice for us but that was the extent of my good experience here. Because of traffic, the friend meeting me was a little late so I sat alone for a little bit. I told our waitress that... she came back a little bit later saying "are you ready to order" .... My friend still hadn't come and I already told her that. The thing is, I understand forgetting so that's what I thought happened. But it became clear that her attitude was intentional. While I was sitting alone, I noticed an ant crawling on my table that I had to kill & I was seated next to some windows and there was subsequently a FLY that I also had to kill ("but you didn't have to kill it"... shut up yes I did) I also had a sushi menu that was already written on. I dont know weird. I understand the appeal of the old house converted into a nice restaurant but it still just smelled like old house and lowkey like rotting wood. The windows also were clean. I dont know it was just bad ambience until it got dark. NOW THE FOOD... The miso soup was my favorite thing on the menu. So that is saying something. My two rolls were underwhelming at best. The fish was chewy.. but a bad chewy. There was barely any fish. The cucumber kimchi was bad. The cucumbers were not good quality. It felt like they were old actually. At the end, our waitress was lowkey rushing us. I swear it was the most I had seen her all night. She set the bill down, would split it for us... she said she'd split it after we put our cards down... what does that mean??? So whatever, me and my friend just paid 50/50 on the bill. (Even tho the menu expressly said that they can't split bills for parties of more than 8). We were only two people. Whatever. Dont come here unless you're just interested in cute vibes.

My biggest con about this place is the layout of the restaurant. My party made reservations in advance for 8 people. Since this was our first time there, we weren't aware that all booths were only for 4 people, with no larger accommodations available. Despite our reservation, we ended up having to wait about 30 minutes for two tables to open up. They weren't even in the same part of the restaurant, unfortunately splitting up our party for our entire stay. The worst part is that three of the booths are directly in front of the door. It's Michigan, so every time that door is opened you are blasted with cold air to the point that everyone was eating with winter jackets on. I was seated in the second row into the restaurant and was still chilled every time the door was opened. Each table is supposed to have a plate deposit where it keeps track of how much you are charged. However, our table's plate deposit was broken and we were told to keep our plates on our table and add them up manually. This led to us having to keep a bunch of dirty plates in piles on the cramped table while we ate, not appetizing. This led to us being unable to pay on the tv, and to pay with one of the waiters. We handed the waiter our credit card to pay, and they ended up disappearing for about 45 minutes. We had to call over several people to track down the person that took our credit card so we could finally leave (the dirty plates stayed the entire time on the table). The sushi was yummy but those prices really add up quick. Each plate is almost 4$ and has two rolls each so you're left to either eat until you're full and have a high bill / keep track of your bill and end up hungry. Overall had a fun but frustrating experience. I've tried it once so I will recommend others to skip this place and head over to One World Market or head over to Sharaku in West Bloomfield instead.
