Since this is my first review of 2023 and also my 100th, I decided to review a place that serves something very near and dear to my heart: Bubble Tea! Food: I tried two things; Cookie butter bubble tea and the pandan waffle. I love anything cookie butter so this bubble tea hit the spot exactly how I needed it to! It's probably the best thing that tastes exactly like the actual butter/biscoff cookies in a different form. I love it so much I'm planning on using it as a reward as I accomplish my 2023 goals! It is extremely sweet, so I suggest telling the cashier to make it less sweet. The pandan waffle was also delicious, it is a regular waffle but they use food coloring to make it look wacky. It is sweeter like cake but still crispy on the outside. They have a large variety of tea and toppings options so I'm sure you'll be able to find what wets your whistle. Service: Service was great. Since it was my first time at this cafe, the cashier was very forthcoming with information. She was the one to suggest that I make my bubble tea less sweet. Ambiance: The cafe is pretty small on the inside. It has some seating but isn't a place to hang out and have a drink, so just grab what you need and leave. It is cutesy like most places that serve these types of drinks. The menu can be overwhelming since there are many options but as previously mentioned, customer service was great at info with the drinks. Overall great place and I can't wait to visit again. I am convinced, without doing the actual math, that there are a million different drink combinations here. On the menu, there are chè, coconut and avocado drinks, smoothies, coffees, boba tea, and yonami, fruit and yogurt beverages. Snacks like waffles and macarons are also available. I'm boring and went with my usual, black tea with milk and boba. At first, I was surprised by how warm the drink was, but it cooled down considerably from the restaurant to the car. I loved that so much boba was included with the drink, AND that they were so tender and chewable. I thought the drink was a bit sweeter than I would have liked, and I will remember to ask for half the sugar the next time. Service was quick and friendly. Last few times the drink was made terrible. Bad boba or too watery. We always get less ice. Still we will always get 90% off the container filled with ice. That's one expensive cup of ice. They even screw up on the generic drinks like Thai tea. The place is maintained clean though. May it's a hit or miss. Depending on the staff. read more

I ordered dinner from the place next door and decided to place a carryout order through Bambu, too. It was fairly easy to do and stopping in to pick up was a breeze. The space itself is super cute, although a little small. But perfect for carryout. I got the brown sugar milk tea at 50% sweet with regular boba and I ordered the coconut for my husband. We both really liked them, although next time I'll I didn't notice a larger size when I ordered online so IDK if that's an option when ordering in but I'd definitely get the bigger size next time if it's an option. Popped in with my mom while we were waiting for our takeout order somewhere else to be ready. Service was super friendly and fast. So many options and combos you could go here every day for weeks and not run out of things to try. I love that they give you the sweetness level option - not something I see very often. I don't love overly sweet things, so this was really great. Nice selection of flavors for their milk teas. It's small inside, so you'd probably want to grab your drink and go but they do have a few small tables to sit at. Overall a super cute place, with fair prices. read more

Take a wide straw and a spoon and immediately mix it up 3. I always love a good bubble tea spot and glad that i found bambu in canton. I love that they have their own specific in house specials that the staff creates monthly. Super friendly staff and great drinks. I really enjoyed trying some of these unique flavors. My favorites were the Kashmiri milk tea and the cookie butter (lotus) milk tea. Having been to a different BAMBU location before, I knew what to expect. It delivered what I was expecting. The almond bubble tea was solid. Not too sweet and the tapioca was perfectly chewy. We also got the fruit addict which was slightly less popular. The coconut was tasteless, and for the first timer, it seemed like a lot of work if that wasn't what you were craving. So if you want bubble tea, stick with the specifically bubble tea menu. The space itself is a tad small and cramped, but it's clean. Once the novelty of a new BAMBU location wears off, I'm sure the line will mellow out. Solid Vietnamese dessert place if you know what you want, but it could take some trial and error if you don't yet know. read more

We were so excited that BAMBU franchise is here! Last ones we've been were in WI and Grand Rapids! We tried Faluda which is a special for the month of June! The cashier who took my order was patient and welcoming! Faluda is differently in different south Asian cultures. I was told that the owners are Pakistani and they use rose water and milk. It's pretty close to what we've in our culture so I decided to give it a shot! Yogurt combo was out always GO To. TBh, I was a bit skeptical since different franchises do things differently and kind of modify it. Surprisingly, it came out to what I expected! Update: we went back to get more Faluda on the second day and there was icecream in it. We didn't get icecream when we got it on the first day. Now, it's made the right way! My childhood fave dessert drink. The inconsistency is not okay but the owner should let their baristas be aware of this. read more

Absolute favorite spot for Vietnamese coffee with jellies. It's strong and flavorful, but velvety and scrumptious. I love that I'm getting amazing BOBA here with quality ingredients. There's lots of parking and they offer curbside pickup (the table is right inside). They use Five Stars, so be sure to join the app program prior to purchasing to earn rewards. Every time I've visited, I've been served quickly and with a smile. The staff take their time to answer any questions and they have some amazing monthly flavors, such as cookie butter milk tea (it was to die for!) I also love that in addition to bubble tea, coffee, and smoothies, they offer various che and desserts such as macarons. If you like Taro, they have several desserts that include it. That's definitely harder to find! It won't take long for you to find something you love at Bambu! read more

This is by far one of the better brands of favored spots for bubble drinks for me. It's the only place that has a really good raspberry juice. I get mine with the boba bubbles and sometimes with the mango popping bubbles too. It's a nice spot for a refreshing drink. read more

Bambu is unique compared to other bubble tea places around the area because of their Vietnamese Che! I ordered a Bambu Favorite, and it was pretty good, aside from the fact that it was a little hard to mix. I love all the unique toppings they offer, such as basil seed. I frequent this location ALOT. Enough to where I've had several of the drinks many times over. Usually the way I go is I'll order the drink I feel like having that day, and also one drink I haven't tried yet. I'm definitely happy they've added some new drinks to the menu, but pretty unhappy with the inconsistency of their drinks. Some days it tastes one way, other days it tastes another. Guess it just depends on who's working that day. For example a new drink I had was under the juice section and it was simply called 'Raspberry'. Raspberry juice? Okay sounds simple enough. I tried it and fell in love. Perfect mix of sweet and tart, mad we very refreshing. I ordered it again the very next day, i couldn't even drink it. Literally tastes like poison. Less refreshing and had a very strong bitter aspect to it. The interesting question is, which one was made correctly? Since I only had it twice, it could be either. But the awfulness of the second version doesn't make me wanna try a for a third. All I know is, there's lots of bubble tea places popping up and they're all fighting for our business. I can't believe they opened a Bambu in Canton! A much needed bit of good news in the midst of living in the anxiety and fear of the COVID outbreak. I've been a big fan of Bambu's following my experiences with the ones in Chicago and Madison Heights, and was so relieved to learn that they were open on a limited, take-out only basis despite the hunkering down. The online ordering system is straight forward and timely. The staff is fantastic here and the no-contact take out and ordering process went off without a hitch. Most importantly, the drinks/desserts were fantastic. This was my first time trying the Bambu Favorite and it was excellent! We came here two days in a row in hopes of lifting our spirits and local businesses a little during this trying time. Definitely recommend! read more

Not all Bambus are equal. Head to Madison Heights Bambu location if you want to experience the Che made right. This location does NOT make Che correctly based on multiple visits I've made as of early August. Thai tea with bubble was done correctly and tasted good. Red tapioca used in Summer Delight was not done correctly, with center not cooked thru. I've made more than 5 trips to this Bambu location, and 3 out of 5 visits, they did not make my Che correctly. Missing an item, not putting enough items like beans, making the Che tasting like a watered down drink. At most recent trip the pandan jelly was missing. I couldn't believe it! It's THE key ingredients in Che. It's like getting a pizza without Cheese. I was so disappointed when I discovered it when I got home. I wasn't going to drive 25 min to get another one made, so I've called to complain. I was told to post a review so they can learn from this. Interesting response and customer service, I thought. Nothing was offered to make the situation right. So here I am. Writing a review as suggested. I've drove out there to satisfy my cravings which wasn't fulfilled. I went there to get happy and it didn't work out. I should have just gone out to the other Bambu. It would been extra 5 min drive but my Che craving would been met. maybe I'll try their smoothie, or stay with bubble tea, but definite not Che. P.S. I'm so happy I stumble across this place. In my language, the name of the store translates to Bamboo, but this is actually a Vietnamese dessert place. They sell bubble tea and coffee, which has grown to become incredibly, incredibly popular all over the country. Of course, nothing is wrong with BOBA, but I would recommend trying out another menu from this establishment instead since it's what makes them unique. One of the drinks they offer is called Che, which is a traditional Vietnamese sweet beverage. It is a coconut-milk or -cream-based drink with various toppings from mung beans, black-eyed peas, kidney beans, tapioca, jelly, fruit, or even taro and pudding. You might wonder, like what are you doing putting beans in a dessert, moreover a drink, but seriously, you'll be surprised! They really emphasize Southeast Asian flavor, such as using coconut milk, pandan, avocado (yes, we have them as sweet, cold dessert instead of savory dishes in Southeast Asia), longan, lychee, jackfruit, taro, and similar. If you're adventurous enough, you can even get durian-flavored stuff (although I'm not a fan of durian myself). Not only do they taste good, but they're also very aesthetically pleasing as well! Things to note though, these beverages are far more filling than typical boba drinks. The drinks can also come across as very sweet, so I'd suggest you ask for a less sweet option to make it less overwhelming. In addition to the drinks, we give the pandan waffle a shot. I think it's served with coconut sugar? The flavor is again, pretty unique and quite authentic. The texture is chewier than the typical waffle. However, I think it's way too sweet for my liking that it becomes difficult to finish. The service is very friendly, although it might not be the fastest. Imagine extra 5 minutes than your usual boba. I mean, the drinks themselves are more complicated to prepare. Regardless, I think this place is definitely recommended! read more

They have GF pandan waffles that are AMAZING and we tried two ridiculously tasty Che desserts, my partner had a pumpkin cookie mochi, and we have an autumn harvest milk tea with boba in the fridge. Everyone was nice, masked up, and you can order online and they leave it for you on a table outside for no contact pick up. If I was there I would of had them remake them. They went very cold, and to make up for that there was a huge chunk of ice floating in the middle. Whoa! You will not be disappointed with the choices of beverages I on the other hand stuck to my favorite which is Taro. The BAMBU staff was super helpful and informative to make sure I got my taro bubble tea exactly how I wanted it. They allow you to customize your tea by adjusting the milk, ice, sugar etc. The location is perfect for a quick stop in while shopping along Ford, the inside is very clean and modern and you won't be disappointed with what ever drink you choose. read more

HUGE Bambu fan here and I was stoked to come across this store in Canton. I ordered my usual #1 and paid for extra pandan jelly even though it usually comes with a good amount of it anyways. Came home, poured it into a bowl so I can relish every bite and sadly, all I got was the amount of jelly pictured. I have been waiting for a place that sells Che around my area and when I heard Bambu opened, I was so excited. Honestly, this location isn't as good as the Bambu I've had in Chicago or the LA area but it's still decent. I'm Viet and the che here is alright. I've had the Summer Delight, Bambu Favorite, and Awesome Trio. Summer delight was my favorite. The Awesome Trio isn't what I expected from a Che Ba Mau and I probably won't be getting it again. Part of the reason why I was excited for Bambu to open is for the different flavored smoothies than you would get at an american store like jackfruit, avocado, durian, etc. It did not disappoint! I don't think the smoothies are made from fresh fruits but all the smoothies I've had were still really good! My only issue with the smoothies are the prices. The smoothies are $6-8 for a regular size (+$1 to make it a large). The regular-sized jackfruit smoothie in my photo was $7! The store itself is pretty small so even after this pandemic is over, this isn't a place to come and hang out with a group of friends. The employees have all been really nice though and were really patient when I tried to figure out what I should order for my aunt. You can also order online and choose a pick-up time. Overall I would give this location 3.5 stars if I could but rounded up to 4 due to convenience and service. read more
