Tasty food. Ordered a to go from here and it came quickly and nicely packed up. Portions were good, I got my order king sized and it lasted 2 lunches. I ordered the fried garlic and black pepper stir fry with beef. Beef was pretty tender. Loved all the veggies in the dish. The sauce was the real star though. Everything reheated well,which was a treat. I preferred the first run but did not mind the seconds one bit. I'd get it again. read more

BLUF - I have returned! Yup, nobody cared. This is an interesting take on Thai and worth it when not in the mood for the same-old-same-old. Details - The spicey estimate is on the low side, ghost pepper hot isn't really that hot so don't be afraid. Wide rice noodles are more pappardelle or egg noodle sized than standard wide rice noodles. Overall, tasty but the Kaprow dish and Thai basil dishes need more fish sauce, Thai basil, and birds eye peppers. read more

Ordered delivery here last week for the first time. I was intrigued by the curry pad thai, which was advertised as all the elements of a pad thai with a curry sauce. I liked the sound of that so I got that with chicken. But I'm not 100% sure that's what I got in my order? It was definitely a soupier sauce like the photos of curry pad thai I saw would suggest but it tasted more like a pad thai sauce and I picked up on absolutely no curry flavor. That said, the dish itself tasted pretty good. It just wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I had also ordered a boba smoothie but they canceled it since they were out of boba pearls. While I appreciated that they refunded me but I guess I would have liked them to check in with me to see if I had wanted to swap it for anything else? I was waffling between a boba and Thai iced tea and I would have totally gone with that instead. Not sure I'm in a hurry to order from here again but the prices were reasonable and they were SUPER quick on the delivery so it does have its pros that I could see giving into in the future. read more

Thai Spoon hits the spot! Used to come here with coworkers because it was close to our office (pre-pandemic), and now do the occasional pick up. Portions are generous (though less so than a few years ago, and smaller amounts of meat/veg compared to noodles). Dishes are tasty. Very customizable spice level, but be aware that the spicier levels are actually pretty spicy. I would suggest sticking with Mild Plus or Med if you want a little kick but not too spicy. We most often get Pad Thai Curry and Pad See Ewe. read more

I've come here may times to grab quick bites and I was never disappointed. During my last Ann Arbor visit, I decided to order from here as it was one of favorite. Placed an order through yelp takeout and the order was ready on time. We ordered Spring rolls and Thai Curry Noodles this time. Thai Curry Noodles (Veg) will be one thing that I always order here but I wasn't really impressed this time. It missed the punch and could get the smell of fish sauce. They asked for spice level, I ordered it mild hot and wasn't sweating. I'm not sure if they changed their method of preparation, but the taste has changed after their renaming a few months ago. Spring rolls were pretty good though, crisp and tasted good. I'd get those again for sure. All of their dishes are shareable. I'm guessing some dishes they do really well and others maybe not as well. Don't set the highest of expectations, as you can see, it can be a little hit or miss. I will probably keep frequenting the other thai places in Canton since they're a lot closer to me. read more

Eh... it's fine. I was spoiled working at a Thai restaurant as a kid and I have yet to meet drunken noodles that even remotely taste as good as what I remember. They said, Thai Spoon's drunken noodles are okay, not disgusting but not amazing. A bit greasy for my taste. The spice levels here seem to be inconsistent as I ordered mild plus and tasted literally no spice but medium burned my mouth. Granted, I'm not super daring with spice but can't figure out why the two levels were so incredibly different. The spring rolls taste good, but are also greasy. Service is friendly and efficient. Today is my 3rd or 4th order with them (I seriously can't remember by now because they are the only thai restaurant that i eat with whenever im craving for thai food), and I have decided to award the full 5 star rating for them. They truly is the #1 hands down, best Thai restaurant in Ann Arbor. I probably mentioned this a lot in my other USA reviews, I'm from southeast asia and an hour flight away from Bangkok, so my taste buds are pretty picky when it comes to southeast asia cuisine. Today I ordered three dishes which one of em was a custom order that i had to order a day ahead before pick up- Yum Woon Sen (Glass noodle salad) which NOBODY NONE ZERO thai restaurants in Ann Arbor has it on the menu. So i called up Thai Spoon and they offered to cook it for me! Guess how much this custom order cost me? $9. They are honest and affordable in pricing! Yum Woon Sen - 9/10 Its amazing, and they served you a huge ton of noodles. Noodles are not soggy, not overcooked and nicely seasoned. Not sure if seasoned is the right word or maybe nicely tossed in the sauce. I didn't give a 10 because there was no cilantro, which isn't a biggie. Different parts of Thailand, they cook this dish differently. I'm definitely ordering this again. Drunken Noodles - 10/10 My 2nd time ordering this dish. Damn, they are very consistent in taste, quality, quantity and presentation. This dish is lit AF. Chicken Tom Yum Soup - 11/10 Wait, did i ever mention its only $3? And its a side that I always order everytime i eat with them. It comes in a cup, not the tinyass chilli bowl cups you get at an American style restaurant but a reg sized cup, that is just nice and enough to fill you up. Yup $3. I always order out the pad thai and it's always so good. Figuring out the spice level can be an adventure lol, but I always add chicken and lemon and king size cuz it's such a good deal! We ordered 6 lunches on 4/4/23 and they were delivered by GrubHub. I had a question about my order which was Fried Garlic Black Pepper Beef Stir Fry ($11.09) with added broccoli ($1 for 3 tiny pieces), added white onion ($1 for 6 slivers), and extra beef ($2 for a total of 6 pieces). It came in a big round container which had a 1/4" of liquid, 4 water chestnuts slices, and some scallions. My question was if the portions are always so small (much less than 1/4 of the container had food) or did the driver help themself to my lunch? The top of the container was smashed in. I didn't have a chance to call yesterday so I called today and tried to explain my dissatisfaction. The man I spoke to said I should have called yesterday and blew me off. So I told him that was not a good way to handle a complaint and said I would air it on Yelp instead. He was silent, so this is it. I paid way too much for what I got or the GrubHub driver also had lunch on me. Either way, the man at Thai Spoon should have at least offered some sort of explanation. Surely a hole in the wall type place in a bleak neighborhood. The red curry chicken we got was great but the only thing that tasted "thai". I got the pad kee mao but it wasn't flat noodles and rather a beef stir fry soup with rice instead. I don't recommend the thai fried rice either - had a weird powdery texture and very fried (almost burnt..). Both the fried rice and beef pad kee mao tasted just not thai lol. I truly enjoyed my first visit to Thai Spoon. Ordered the pineapple fried rice with tofu, tons of delicious onions, and big chunks of tomatoes. I also ordered three spring rolls and they came with this delicious clear vinegar-y sour sauce that was the tangy bomb. Everything was super hot and ready like 5 minutes after I placed my order! If you are ok with having your money stolen come here, I still come every now and then but I objectively give one star for anyone else who isn't me and has a brain. I don't know why I come back, maybe the food is tasty but if you order anything with shrimp (non meat eater) They give you one to two pieces of shrimp, this has happened to me multiple times 5 times in a row for sure. I ordered takeout here as a visitor from California. I don't often write reviews, but I felt compelled to since this was the worst pad thai I've ever had by a huge margin. Of course, reviews are subjective so give it a try if you are curious, but out of the hundreds of times I've had pad thai from countless restaurants, this is hands down the worst. It was completely tasteless, way too sweet, and the color just looked unappetizing. Google "pad thai" and you'll know what I mean. I couldn't even finish the pad thai. The crab rangoon was also sad. It was 50% air, and 50% cream cheese. And the sauce that came with it tasted like syrup. Maybe I had a one-off experience and the food is amazing. Who knows. This was my first time trying this restaurant and I was very happy with what I received. I ordered Hot and Sour Soup (Hot spice) and Fried Garlic and Black Pepper Stir Fry (also w/Hot Spice) on my lunch break. This was the best H/S Soup I have had in a long time, I was blown away at how delicious everything was. I did a pickup order, the woman at the counter was kind and provided great service. The inside area is clean and welcoming if you want to dine in but I would recommend take out. I have already recommended this place to multiple people and plan to return often. I use to go there often when it was Bangkok Cuisine but not so much when they changed ownership. MY MISTAKE!!! We order off the Lunch Menu - got a good size portion of what we wanted along with 2 small spring rolls (very yummy) and a side salad (OMG - great surprise). Took my mom there as a treat while out shopping. After a while waiting at the counter, we ordered our food. Was asked if was for here or take out. We said we will dine in. Received our order in take out containers. We always share our dishes and the containers didn't allow for that with any ease and no way to actually combine the rice with the main dish without it spilling on the table I went to the counter... waited waited .. waited... Finally someone came out from back. I asked for a plate. The guy handed me a plastic takeout container top. LOL. This place was so very disappointing. If you only have takeout containers, there is no need to ask if they want takeout or dine in. The food was average. The service was lousy. The staff was mildly unprofessional. Oh and I forgot to mention that their plastic ware was so flimsy that it softened and bent making it difficult to draw food up. We will NEVER GO BACK. Terribly uncomfortable meal experience. This was my first time ordering from them and I wish I took a picture of my food because it was very disappointing. I ordered the fresh rolls (summer rolls, wrapped in rice paper) and it was filled with old looking lettuce and bean sprouts. It came with a sweet vinegar sauce, not the typical hoisin and/or peanut sauce. I took two bites and threw it away. I also ordered some curry noodle dish, which wasn't that bad but it had a strange after taste. I won't be ordering from here again. Went there with a group. All ordered different dishes, since we all had different tastes. Some had ingredients added or removed. All were pleased with their dish. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and the place was clean. Not very many eating in, but did see a whole lot of traffic for pickup - so many people must like their food. Service was fast too. I got drunken noodles. There are different levels of hotness offered: Nospice/Mild/MildPlus/Medium/MediumPlus/Hot/HotPlus/ExtraHot/ThaiHot. Was great to see that they offered ThaiHot - because not all Thai places understand the ThaiHot level or what it means. I got ExtraHot instead because at some restaurants around the U.S. I have ordered ThaiHot and it was just about too hot to eat. But I was mildly disappointed here. The food was great, but the ExtraHot seemed more like Medium to me. Next time I am in the area, I plan on trying it out again, because the food was great, but will go with ThaiHot - because ExtraHot was just too mild for my tastes.
