Good vibe, northeastern china style. Friendly owners. GuoBaoRou is very good, beef skewers were also good. However, I ordered grilled cold noodles to go, when I ate it at home, there's plastic wrap in it. When I reheat the left over the next day, I pulled out more plastic wrap! I got paranoid thinking how much harmful chemicals I have eaten from the plastic wrap....

Super amazing, so worth it! The owner is super sweet and they recently hired a new chief and there are a lot of new items on the menu!

I love spicy food. This place is one of my favorites. The snacks or the dishes are amazing with beer if you drink Beer. The best skewers in town. The variety you can try.

Food is great. Authentic northeastern Chinese food. Must have is: Guobao Rou, Lengmian, Kai jiucai. Service is not typical American hospitality. But as a real northeastern girl, I knew they are real, they sounds "rude" but warm heart inside. Recommended.东北人可以去,家乡的味道。

The best BBQ in town. We drove all the way from Arkansas just to eat this BBQ. Authentic and the boss was super nice!! Highly recommend!

Flat chicken wings, silk worms, chinese hot dogs, lamb on skewers, egg plant, clams, cold noodles (sweet and sour summer dish).

It's a matter of expectations. If you are expecting shish-kebabs It is not. But if you are expecting authentic northern chinese bbq this IS the place. This style food is basically bar food, meant to be enjoyed with friends talking and plenty of beer. In China the street vendors come out at 10pm, chairs are set up with lights and the good times begin. The BBQ grill is a long skinny gutter with charcoal just the right width for the skewers to sit above the heat. The fresh skewer starts at one end and rolls to the other end well done. Spicy if you like but totaally full of flavor.

In four words: Expatriate Hipster Chinese Tapas. Since that four word phrase has doubtfully ever been uttered before: You walk in and the place is very trendy, with graffiti on the wall and young waitresses with various "ironic" t-shirts on. The mugs you drink from are covered in communist iconography with tongue-in-cheek "propaganda" phrases. The graffiti/T-shirt/"propaganda" are mostly in Chinese, and so is most of the chatter in the air. In fact I think my table was the only one where any English was spoken at all. Of all the Chinese food in the greater Dallas area, your Americanized, authentic, Cantonese, hot pot, dim sum, etc, this is the only place I've found that serves BBQ in the style of northern China. Essentially it's skewered meat, well seasoned, and grilled over an open flame, a Chinese shishkebab if you will. Lamb is solid. Chicken wings were amazingly tender and juicy, with perfect seasoning. We took a big chunk out of their menu, but there's still so much more I'd love to come back and try. Although everything is cheap, it's ALSO small (hence the comparison to tapas), so it can get a little expensive to truly fill up. Bring your modest appetites, though, and your tastebuds will thank you.

My sister and I came here for my birthday lunch and from the first bite I was in heaven! From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left the service and hospitality was so welcoming and amazing. You just felt like you were visiting your tia's and your primos. We were given sample cups for the teas (which were all so delicious it took me forever to decide!) We ordered to patacon with garlic pulled pork and the cachapa with the braised beef. Not a single dish lacked flavor, moisture, layers of ingredients, nothing! They checked ALL the boxes! The garlic rice was so good, so simple, so amazing. And that jalapeño citrus slaw was creamy, zesty, crunchy, fabulous. These are the type of flavors you never forget, and always desire. Stick to your ribs, embed in your memories, visit you in your dreams, type of flavors. LOL I will ABSOLUTELY be back EVERY time I'm in Dallas!

We got the baby octopus bibimbap with the steamed egg and bulgogi bibimbap with the tofu soup. The banchan was also really fresh and the kimchi really stood out. The portions were huge! I love that the bibimbap comes out on a flat sizzling pan to maximize the crunchy rice you get from it. The baby octopus was delicious and had great flavor. The steamed egg had a spongy texture which and was also really flavorful. The tofu soup was not as thick as some that you might get but it had a really good savory flavor that you can taste in the soup. Even before the star of the meal appeared, kudos to the smattering of banchan that came out: sprouts, cucumber kimchi, sweet potato, mini meat patties, kimchi, steamed egg, tofu soup, salad greens seasoned, cheese + corn... I hope I didn't miss any! The mushroom bibimbap is flavorful! We've never had this particular bibimbap before and man it goes well with the meat. Beef rib was tender and nice. We wanted it a bit rare :) and it was delish! Dipping sauce was nice but honestly doesn't need it! Oh and the grilled mushroom is good with it. Pork belly was the star of the meal. Had it with 2 week aged grilled kimchi (so special!!) and we got samjang with it, yummm. We were stuffed to the rim and had to take a little box of leftovers home. We were so touched with a little desert rice drink at the end, really rounded out the meal and experience all together. A+ for the service. Amazing job and everything grilled to perfection.

I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant with the large mural of a Hawaiian beach and simple island decor peppered throughout. The restaurant is also very clean. I also was fairly happy with the portion sizes for the chicken dishes. The vegetables in the Hawaiian plates were cooked very well and were really good complements with the lunch meals. What didn't work for me: The decoration alone is where this stopped feeling like a Hawaiian restaurant. The Hawaiian plates felt more Asian inspired rather than true Hawaiian inspired. The flavor is excellent, don't get me wrong, but I felt it was a bit of an identity crisis. The Beef BBQ short rib pieces were fatty and overcooked. I had only a few tender bites of beef but the rest was so chewy and fatty that I had to spit it out. Also only had 6-7 pieces of short rib for a $20 plate which I didn't really feel was worth it. The chicken katsu was crispy however I didn't care for the quality of the chicken meat. It was very stringy and tough to bite through in some areas. I was very much looking forward to the macaroni salad but it was just fine. I had high hopes for this one but it just wasn't creamy enough to blow me away. If you have ever visited a Hawaiian island and ever felt like you needed a fix of that memorable vacation, this place won't bring you back to those island memories but you will still be treated very well from a very kind staff. Their attitude is very aloha however I hope one day I can take a bite of their meal and be transported back to island vibes. I would recommend this place if you want solid Asian flavors, but not Hawaiian island specific flavors.
