Ari in Plano stands out among Korean BBQ for me. The service and reliability of quality are the first things I think of. The servers are really friendly and have gotten to know us, so they remember what we like and don't and proactively accommodate. While I don't expect this from restaurants in general, it goes a long way and makes for a way better experience. We used to be regulars at a different location which is now under new management, and service & reliability there changed. We switched to this location when we heard that Plano was still run the way we liked, and had some of the former staff. Both turned out to be true, so it made a few minutes' farther drive well worth it. Like many other Korean bbq, Ari has a selection of meats to choose from. While we have some favorites (like seasoned prime short rib) all the ones I've tried them have been very good. I love the soybean soup and the salad with its very tasty dressing. The egg and cheese corn which cook alongside the grill seem are always be kept full if you want. There are many sides provided like kimchi and my favorite pickled radish, and unlike other places where these can be hit or miss, Water is provided, but I like to get the buckwheat tea. One thing I really appreciate is that the quality has reliable every time - there has not been a "the soup just wasn't as flavorful today" or "those radishes weren't pickled so well today" or an overcooked meat yet. These are small things, but they show care and attention, and are things I value a lot. read more

We've been coming to Ari Korean BBQ for years since they first opened, and overall it's still one of our favorite spots. The food is consistently great, and when the staff is properly trained, the service is excellent too. The waitress with the toast necklace was honestly amazing and the highlight of our visit. Her communication was perfect. She asked exactly how we wanted the meat cooked, checked in on the pacing of the courses, and adjusted everything when we asked to slow things down. That level of attentiveness is what makes Korean BBQ enjoyable. At Ari, multiple staff members rotate between tables helping out, which is normally fine. Unfortunately, every time the more mature staff member came to our table, things started getting worse instead of better. After we had already explained that we preferred medium rare and wanted a slower pace, she came over, saw a little pink in the meat, turned the fire back on, and cooked it until it was overdone. She also started putting meat directly onto people's plates without asking first. Everyone at our table had different preferences. Some mainly wanted vegetables, our daughter preferred pieces with more fat on the sides instead of the more pink cuts, and some of us simply weren't ready for more food yet. Since we know everyone's preferences best, it would have made much more sense for us to serve the meat ourselves instead of having it automatically placed onto plates. What made it more awkward was that she kept placing food only into my tray and not anyone else's, which confused my wife and made the experience uncomfortable. She also started cooking additional courses before we had even finished the first two, despite us specifically asking to slow the pace down. The side dishes were also noticeably skimpy this visit compared to normal. Usually the portions are at least halfway filled, but this time some came out barely a quarter full. We kept asking for refills, especially for the daikon, and each refill only came with two or three small pieces. At that point it felt strange having to repeatedly ask for something that normally comes reasonably portioned. One suggestion for management: name tags would really help in a restaurant where the staff is actively cooking and interacting with customers. In a professional service environment, it would make communication much easier and more respectful if customers could address employees by name instead of describing them as "the toast necklace waitress" or "the mature lady." Still love Ari overall and will continue coming back. Hopefully this was just an off night and the communication/training issues get addressed. read more

I hardly give Korean BBQ places 5 stars but what I find most impressive is the service Ari provides and the fact that I didn't really smell after leaving! It's not AYCE but the packages they offer are decently priced. AYCE probably wouldn't been almost the same price (but AYCE is slightly more). We had 3 adults, a 16 year old and a 12 year old eating the large beef package. My hubs also ordered a bowl of the cold noodles. We were stuffed afterwards. Banchan, eggs and corn are unlimited. Rice is not! I was impressed with the service - they came by to cook the meat for us. There was one instance where our waitress was gone a little too long and the meat was charred. She offered to get us new meat, but we actually like it charred. For almost $40 per person that's not AYCE, I also thought the amount of meat you get and the quality of ingredients was not worth it. This is my favorite kbbq place for high quality meats in a casual setting! The prices are a little higher and it is a la carte, not AYCE, but I really think the meat quality and marinade here is great! We always order the prime rib finger meat. You can order a set of beef or pork for 2, 3, or 4 people, which gives you several different cuts to try. However, after getting this combo before, I find the marinated prime finger meat to be the best out of those cuts, as it is super tender and has a wonderful marinade! The entree for the prime finger rib meat is $31 and is a pretty good size! If you order 2 or more meats, you also get a side of stew, your choice of kimchi or bean stew. I like the bean stew more as it has more flavor in my opinion, the kimchi one is a bit too sour for my taste. They also give you corn cheese and egg on the side of the grill with salad and rice! We also tried the thinly cooked spicy pork belly this time, and the marinade is a little more watery making it less greasy. It also is a ton of meat for $27! Service is great, they cook the meat for you and check on you often. Additionally, they have great smoke vacuums above the grill so it does not smell at all and it is nice and cool inside. All the meats are very good and tender. My parents absolutely loved the corn cheese. Side dishes were yum too. The only thing I would say was that the kimchi stew was a bit on the saltier side. Lots of families were there and it is a little bit on the louder side but definitely a fun experience. We were about 18 minutes away and I called to make sure there was no wait, we went on a Thursday night. We got lucky! No wait. We love Ari and the meat quality for the price. WHAT WE ORDERED: -LARGE Beef Combo (4 people): Thin sliced prime brisket, boneless prime short rib, marinated rib finger meat and bulgogi. **We actually substituted the bulgogi for extra prime brisket** -Pork Jowl -Seasoned Raw Beef - We ate it raw of course, so much flavor! The asian pear and the mixed egg with it pairs really well The large beef combo comes with TWO soups and since we ordered the pork jowl we were able to get another one. You can decide between kimchi stew or soybean paste soup. All of the banchan (sides) were great and were filled when they were empty. Harum (I'm not sure how to spell) was our server cooking the meats for us and serving us was FANTASTIC! He was so attentive to us the whole time we were there even while having other tables. He made our experience at the Plano location very memorable. We were celebrating a birthday with 8 adults and 2 kids on 9/20/2025. Unless you wanted alcoholic beverages nothing else was offered. I made the mistake of asking for a fork and received a plastic one. At $50.00 a meal, I would think at the very least one could get utensils that were not plastic. This was a minor issue though. We were told after and hour and 15 minutes that we were only given 1 1/2 hours to eat and then the food was cut off. They did not mention this up front and most were drinking beer and wine , so they were still making money. There was no one waiting and had plenty of tables open. My last straw came when someone asked for a small to go box to take home a bit of meat that was left on the table. The request was met with a angry look and no response. The waiter did come back later with a box but at that point we just refused and left. We also requested a few seprate checks and that requested was ignored. We will not be going back. Pork Jowl 3. Beef tongue 4. Rib eye The intestines were pretty disappointing as it had a gamey taste to it and not quite as good as the other location where it was loaded with fat and more tasty. So not worth any hype. Mandatory two meats. Not all you can eat and even at that the servings for one dish is really only enough for 1-2 people. Quality of meat was pretty solid but for price the portion was not cutting it and the atmosphere did not feel like what i was paying for. With one window having a huge tarp over it, grills looked outdated, the smoke vacuum swings and can get annoying. Overall min youll be paying is close to 65 backs for a sub par Korean BBQ experience. The service was great. Our server asked questions, listened and responded to all of our needs. Unfortunately we werent able to cook our own meats the server did, so it took some of the fun away but she did very well. Very professional.
