But today I ordered galbi (short marinated ribs) and totally impressed for $20 I could get a big plate of galbi, a bowl of steam rice and some side dishes. Hopefully they maintain this price for as long as possible. 10/5 The sides are nothing to write about .. a small plate of jap chae, which tasted soggy and old. Shredded of lettuce and 3 grapes with ranch dressing and 2 pieces of chicken meatballs which didn't taste good. 2/5 But again the star of the meal is the galbi, both great in quantity and quality. Return or not return? Likely return, but... Standard Korean food court fare. Decent, thought not off the charts. Good value for the price. Issue, the male owner, you cannot be packing to go bags, handling dishes, cutlery and then put green onions in the palm of your hands and throw it into people's soups/food. My new favourite Korean place outside of the mecca that is Carrollton's K-Town. The prices here are some of the best in the area for the portion and quality of food. I kept thinking: you know it's authentic when the orders are still handwritten on paper slips, and they're yelling the orders out loud in the kitchen in Korean. This restaurant is my Go To for all my quick korean food food court needs. The prices are reasonable at $10-20 and come with three of the sides you typically see at a full service restaurant. I love their short ribs, they are cut small and the perfect serving size. You can eat the combo between two people since it's really a full size soup with a full size entree and rice. The food comes out quickly and is often delivered to your table or called out for pick up. The food is consistently good -- not gourmet mind you -- but great for a food court! With the combo, you can choose which tofu soup you want -- I always go for the seafood! There's open seating so grab a chair at your convenience, but it gets super packed so come early. I like eating off legacy and 75. This has been one of the places that escapes me until today. They are closed Sunday and Wednesday ( I'm free on Sunday and eat around this area.). I always have to stop by when I'm in town. I really like this food court and it's my favorite stop for some kimchi soup. The employees are always so friendly and sweet. The KIMCHI BEEF TOFU SOUP is my favorite. I usually get it medium or spicy because the mild is a bit too bland for my liking. I really like the soft tofu with the pieces of beef. The broth is sweet and not fishy. It's definitely one of my favorite soups. I like to eat it with KOREAN BBQ because the meat is tender and sweet and I especially love the sweet onions. The side dishes are always good too and I always want seconds and thirds. The BIBIMBAP is not bad. I really like the perfectly cooked rice with all the different vegetables. I don't really like to add the sauce because it adds a bit of sourness to the dish, but a little bit is good. This is a hidden gem for a tofu place. One of the best and consistent tofu places I have been to. They're located in the food-court, next to Jusgo supermarket. Fist of all, they really need to keep the environment clean. A lot of flying around in the food court and it was not easy to find a clean table. I ordered non spicy dumpling tofu stew for my daughter, one combination (comes galbi + beef tofu stew) and a spicy cold noodle for me and my husband. Along with the side dishes come 4 different banchan and looked good. Both tofu stew were decent, but I hope that more vegetables like a onion, zucchini, green onion and add eggs. This is the best food court in Plano. There are a lot of choices but I decided to eat at Tofu house. You basically just order your food, get your buzzer, find a table, and they'll bring your food out to you. I ended up getting the soondobu (seafood tofu soup) with the choice of your spicy level. It was sooo delicious! Probably one of the best tofu soup I had. It also comes with three or four different side dishes (Kim chi, glass noodles, and broccoli). I enjoyed the glass noodles. Order at the window and take a seat- minutes later a delightful woman wheels a custom dolly up to your table complete with place settings and your piping hot meal, beautifully prepared and laid out. To make this spot even better, the meat portions in the bento boxes are HUGE! Three adults shared the meat in one bento box and it was plenty for all. Even more exciting, our kids(ages 8,9,10) ask for the bento boxes by name! They love the array of foods in the bento boxes! You really get your money's worth going to those food courts and Tofu House is one of those places. I ordered the kimchi tofu beef soup along with the condiments (fish, radish, kimchi, cold noodles, apples, pickled cabbages, rice, and eggs) all for $8, can't beat that. For those who are not familiar with food court restaurants. You order your food, then they assign you a number. They either call out your number or have a screen to let you know that your food is ready. The only small complaint is that when your food is ready, they put it on a cart, you have to haul it yourself, AND you have to bring the cart back yourself. So I just had dinner with the parents at the Food Court near Asia World Supermarket. I had the galbi (short rib) bento (combination) box from Tofu House, mom had fried fish and green beans from Legacy Cafe, and Dad had the yellow curry chicken from Spicy Planet. There are so many choices from Taiwanese, Korean and Thai food at this food court. The Galbi Bento was pretty good and reasonably priced at $10.81 (including tax). I didn't see any drink options there. It was just water, but the reasoning might be because that's how Korean food is typically eaten, or they don't want you to change the flavor of their meal by drinking something flavored. It's ok, I need to drink more water anyway. The bento had lots of meat, a big serving of rice, cold noodles, a side of kimchee, some sliced egg cake, a fried fish, some slices of apples in covered in a light creme and a bowl of soup with bean sprouts and cilantro. The short ribs and kimchee were good, and the egg cake made a nice filler. The cold noodles and sliced apple were very good. The fried fish was very greasy and had lots of bone, so I didn't care for it. The soup was surprisingly very good and very light. It almost had a subtle tea flavor to it. Now the good thing about eating with my parents is that they don't eat that much, so I got to sample my dad's curry chicken from Spicy Planet. I know this is supposed to be a review for Tofu House (which is very good for its price), but I have to give a special mention to the yellow curry chicken. That was really good, and it had just the right hint of coconut to offset the spices. My suggestion is that if you go to the Food Court, bring friends that don't eat that much and have them buy food from other shops. That way, you can taste a little bit of everything.
