Hello my Yelpies!! When in Dallas you have to get over here. The service is second to none. The food.... Sorry I'm not going to spoil it for anyone. You HAVE to GET in HERE Let me leave you with a bit of what Dr.Seuss would say. So if ever in Dallas you hunger and plan For a feast that is flashy and fancier than-- Than a truffle-topped trumpet or steak on a tram, Then dash-dash-DASH to Nick & Sam's! Where crab reigns supreme, Where steaks boldly gleam, Where caviar sparkles with glamorous glam-- Oh what a fine feast at Nick & Sam's!

Over hyped. Overly expensive. Underwhelming .I was really excited to come here for my anniversary, it was still a good time because my company, however the service was really great ,and professional. However , the food did not hit . The best thing that we had was the appetizers. the sides LOBSTER Mac and cheese.. tasted no lobster , CRAB elote .. it wasn't even hint of crab meat . The steak was good .... However I have eaten better at the mercury for half the cost . Also 6 dollars for a fizzless watered down coke zero is quite absurd if you ask me . Lastly the restaurant is gorgeous lots of rooms and art work however , the tables are jammed backed , they have a table for four on a small square table and it's crowded with just cups then we sat in the back between two tables we were so close to the others we mine as well ate together, I should not have to hear why Barbara and Mary don't talk to each other any more , or hear the other table order their food . And they have this thing were the servers do a show and tell if the menu , it's cute but kinda unnecessary because we were ready to order by the time the waiter came with the show and tell of all the steaks .. that's clearly on the menu with the prices and everything... It's cute that they come up with the king crab and show it off but seriously 1,000 dollars I could get a king crab and cook it myself. Anyway it was nice but only for a one time experience.

We came here for my birthday and we had a great time except for the beginning. This place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. What i didn't like was the fact that they made it a big deal when i was wearing sweatpants, saying how this place was business casual.... but when we got seated, we saw multiple individuals wearing sport jerseys, regular tshirts and or crocs. Not sure if those same individuals got the same speech as me. As for the service and the food, both were excellent. We got seated, and they brought out different cuts of meats to showcase the selection. Shortly after they bought out table side bread and caviar. I was kinda shocked they were serving caviar, but i guess that is built into the price of the items on the menu. As mentioned, service was really good. They constantly came by to check in on us. Most of the steak entrees were about 60 bucks. We ended up getting the 26 oz PRIME AGED PORTERHOUSE to share between two people. As for the sides, we ended up getting duck duck mac, potatoes au gratin and the broccolini. The steak was prepared very nicely, and they came out and cut it for us. As for the sides, the best one was the potatoes au gratin. We also got dessert, which is on a separate menu and that was very good as well. This place also serves seafood, sushi and cuts of wagyu. I believe valet is complimentary. All in all, if they didn't bring up the business casual comment in the beginning, this place would be more like a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

We ordered: - Mishima Reserve Filet - Mishima Reserve Ribeye - Maine Lobster Mac N Cheese - Crab Cake - Red Crab Elote - Red Velvet Cake. I'm not a big steak person, so splitting was definitely a good idea. No complaints with the filet or the ribeye. In terms of sides, elote was better than Mac N Cheese. Red Velvet Cake was fine, but we really only got it because it felt like a must birthday tradition for the restaurant. I didn't like the crab cake. They had valet parking. Ambiance was nice, great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. Service was excellent, very attentive staff.

Time for an update, it's been five years after all! This visit was to host my husband's employees + significant others for a Merry Christmas + Thank You dinner. Service was good, although the waitstaff seemed like they were at the end of their shifts, not the beginning. The interactions were very formal and not personable or friendly. The noise level is already higher than normal so it's hard to hear and the waitstaff seemed frustrated we couldn't hear them. The food and drinks were enjoyed by all and everything not only tasted wonderfully, it was plated with eye-catching appeal. Most at the table chose steaks, but there was one order for the American Red Snapper and one for the Sam's Chopped Salad. They both looked incredible and the salad was huge! I chose the Grass Fed Australian Filet 8 oz was seasoned perfectly and was delicious! I also ordered the Roasted Brussel Sprouts - they were just okay, soggy and mostly tasting of garlic. I wouldn't get them again. I would however get the (appetizers) Calamari, Bang Bang Broccoli and Deviled Eggs again - they were incredible!! One cannot come to Nick & Sam's and not get dessert - they are larger than life! Each person at our table seemed to order something different and each person cleaned their plate. We ordered the Cotton Candy for the table and it was a quite the spectacle - everyone loved it. I haven't had cotton candy in 20yrs so I thought I'd try some - it was delicious! The cake balls on the base of the stand were some of the best I've ever had. Overall the evening was a success. We all enjoyed our food and drinks and the atmosphere was cozy too. TIP: bring cash to tip valet and for coat check too HEAD's UP: the noise level is louder than most places and the lights are always dimmed, so plan accordingly

Made a Friday 8pm reservation several weeks in advance. Arrived a couple minutes before 8, checked in and was offered complimentary champagne. We were not sat until 9:20pm (1hr 20 min later), which is completely unacceptable really at any restaurant but especially a $250+pp establishment. Maybe a 20 minute wait is comped with a glass of champagne, but nearly 1.5 hours?? Several other couples that were there before us complained to the host. When we did, the host was shocked we had been waiting for so long and said a manager would come talk to us. After getting seated, we had a wonderful waitress and meal. Tableside caviar service, west and east coast oysters, tender octopus, soft bread service, an amazing bottle of Faust cab and two prime steaks. Loved the booth, lively atmosphere and decor. I see the hype, but the wait was absolutely unacceptable and although our waiter apologized, we never heard from a manager. There are other elevated steakhouses that I will go to instead.

We came here for a birthday celebration! We decided just to order appetizers and sides: Calamari - it had the flavor but over fried Oxtail hummus - it did have the flavor of the oxtail but it was very salty Brussels sprouts - had the flavor but the Brussels sprouts needed to be a little more crispy Jumbo Onion Rings-this was huge and very crispy Oysters Rockefeller - very salty but tasty Grilled octopus - not what I had expected, very very salty, we had to send this one back Fries and Sweet potatoe fries - they were good and crispy, but still need to dip in ketchup! After all the hype on their desserts, we ordered the 7 layered Red Velvet, it was delicious and moist! I definitely would just go back and try their desserts! One thing, the service is amazing! We also got the complimentary caviar! It was very loud in the dining, you can't really hear yourself talk!

We had a 7:30 PM reservation on a Saturday night to celebrate my boyfriend and I's anniversary. We arrived early, around 7:20, to check in. Around 7:45, we overheard the front staff mention to another customer that their system was down, which affected table seating. We understand that technical issues can happen, so we continued to wait patiently. We were not seated until around 8:10 PM, and there was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay. Once seated, service initially moved quickly. Our server explained the menu, we ordered right away, and we enjoyed some delicious cocktails. A manager also came by to check in, which we appreciated, and at that point, everything seemed to be going well. Our food arrived soon after, and we treated ourselves to the 48-oz prime-aged porterhouse along with a few sides, all of which were good. Things slowed significantly when it came to dessert. Our server did not return for quite some time, long enough for us to consider skipping dessert altogether, but since it was our anniversary we still decided to order the celebration cake. The cake arrived as expected, but given the occasion, we had hoped for a sparkler or a something to make the moment feel special. Nothing additional was provided. We took most of it to-go and asked for our check. When the check arrived, we noticed a ~$95 bottle of wine that we had not ordered. We informed our server, who confirmed it was a mistake and provided an updated receipt. Unfortunately, this added to an already disappointing ending to the evening. We left shortly after, around 10:20 PM. This is the first time in all of our anniversaries that a restaurant has not mentioned or done anything to provide a premium dining experience for a special occasion. Due to the high price point, lack of attention to detail, and absence of the care we expected for such a meaningful celebration, I do not recommend Nick & Sam's.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Nick & Sam's is a real treat & they live up to their reputation. I love celebrating here. The food & service is always outstanding. We always enjoy the calamari, steak, sides, & salad. And you can't beat the ambiance of this place. I feel so valued as a customer by everyone who stops by the table

Had a lovely evening at Nick & Sam's ... At first I was skeptical regarding the low ratings on Yelp, but I was impressed with my Weekday experience. Making a reservation was a breeze. Getting there was a bit concerning as parking is at a premium. Although the complementary valet took care of that for us. We were seated right away, even though we arrived about 10-minutes early. Our reservation was at 7:30pm. My first impression entering the dining hall was, WOW ... This is packed, and not just with patrons. Yes ... the tables have been placed a bit closer than I'd like. Hardly any space for servers to move around comfortably. And it was loud. Having gotten past that, the service was awesome, although a bit rushed at the beginning. We kicked it off with some Vino [$$s] and drinks and some appetizers. The Bang Bang Broccoli is a must have. The crab cakes were Meh ! For dinner, we were presented with a variety of prime cuts. Honestly, I was wondering if I would be grossed out, but it was well presented and explained. We ordered the Dry age 16oz NY Strip and the Salmon. This was my first time trying a Dry age steak ... The jury is out for me on that one. While the tastes were flavorful, they weren't as juicy as I like my steaks. Honestly, I'd like to try a dry-age steak a few more time, before I go back to regular programming :-) Family sized sharing sides were the Augratin and the Brussel Sprouts ... DO NOT miss on the Brussel Sprouts .. They were AWESOME... Other than the super packed space, the noisier than normal sound levels, and the dry-age NY strip ... all in all, we had a great time .. I wanted to meet w/Chef Samir, but he was off that day. I'd be going back there soon, may be even try Chef Samir's Butter chicken :-D

Reservation is a must here on the weekends. We had a reservation and still had to wait quite a while. They did compensate us with free drinks so I do appreciate that. The food was very delicious. The service here is spectacular and the drinks are tasty. Definitely recommend checking out Nick & Sam's!! The sides, sushi, entrées all yummy.

Ask the Community - Nick & Sam's

Does it have a happy hour?

Do they have live music? And do they have it Friday nights?

Yes

Would nice black jeans and a nice top be okay to wear? I'm trying to not go shopping but none of my dresses fit right now. Thanks!

Absolutely! Ok to wear. When I went people were wearing jeans & jean jackets.

Would it be okay to bring a 10 month old?

No!!! Please, NO!!! Are you mad??

Can men wear ball caps/ western hats?

If you want to stick out like a sore thumb, feel free. Probably the most expensive restaurant in the Dallas area

Are dinner jackets required for men?

No they are not. Business casual

Is this place toddler friendly?

Kids can come, but I wouldn't recommend unless you absolutely have no other choice.

Do you need reservations?

Probably a great idea since it's extremely popular

Are prices on the menu at the restaurant?

Yes, most of them are.

When they present the different steak options prior to the meal, are the steaks that they showcase on a platter the real cuts?

They're real.

Do we have to dress business casual?

Not sure if there’s a dress code but I would dress nice, it’s a nice atmosphere.

On average how much does it cost for two people?

You should expect to spend $75 - $125 per person including appetizer, entree and tip.

Are kids allowed? If so, do they have to be a certain age? We have a gift card that was included in a package we purchased and I thought it'd be a memorable thing for my son's to experience. They're very well behaved so that won't be an issue.

As far as I know yes, seen several families dining in with kids.

Is it loud?

Extremely loud. Pretty obnoxious.

What are the options on the 7 layer cake as far as flavor?

We were given the option to book a table at 10:30 on Sat., but I see the hours on the website say they close at 11. Is 10:30 too late or does this place stay rather full? We don't want to be in a deserted restaurant.

It does stay pretty full at that time. The first time that I went was about this time and the restaurant was packed! I hope you have fun!

Where is the best table location for a party of 3. We prefer to be somewhat in middle of things but be able to talk?

The circular booths are great and you can still see what is happening around you.

Has anyone experienced Thanksgiving dinner here, if so how was it?

Yes. Incredible with multiple options to choose from.

How much is the 7 layer cake?

It was either $35 or $38 for the rainbow cake, but it's a pretty big slice. The other flavors of cake are a bit cheaper

I loved seeing the steaks and oysters beautifully displayed, and the open kitchen was such a nice touch -- watching the chefs in action added to the whole experience. Our waiter was phenomenal -- super accommodating, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs all night. The sides to choose from ranged between $16-$18 We ordered the creamed spinach and it was rich and delicious. The wedge salad was fresh and satisfying. The corn brûlée? A crowd favorite -- everyone at the table was obsessed! The only miss for us was the mac and cheese -- good texture, but it didn't leave a lasting flavor impression. Food - 4 Service - 3…read more Ambiance -4 Went on a Tuesday night while visiting from out of town and decided to give this place a try. The restaurant was practically empty, so we sat in the bar/lounge area. The host and other staff were friendly. Our waiter came off a little smug at first and barely cracked a smile. He honestly seemed a bit annoyed that he had to wait on us, which felt very unfriendly. My friend managed to get him to loosen up a bit as the night went on though, so maybe that's just his personality. To his credit, he was very informative when it came to the main course options. The lighting was dim and intimate. Ambiance was simple and modern. I ordered the sea bass and my friend ordered the beef Wellington. Honestly, after tasting my fish, he ended up enjoying my sea bass more than his own dish. The sea bass was like butter, just as the waiter described it. If fish could fall off the bone, this one would have. It came with rice, cashews, and a ginger miso sauce. The cashews added a really nice crunch and texture and the flavors worked really well together. I thoroughly enjoyed it as b the only downside was the portion size. Like a lot of nicer restaurants, you get one small piece of fish... about the size of my pinky finger. My friend's beef Wellington, on the other hand, was just okay. He didn't say it was bad, but it definitely didn't stand out, especially compared to the sea bass. We also ordered potatoes as a side and the white truffle Caesar salad. The salad was good and the truffle flavor wasn't overpowering, which I appreciated. The potatoes were solid too and paired well with the meal. Dessert, unfortunately, was not it! We ordered the Wicked Sundae. Our waiter had actually recommended the banana pudding or the chocolate tart, but we decided to try something else. We probably should've taken his advice. The sundae tasted mostly like ice cream and was missing the main part of the dish -- the brownie. Nothing to run home about, and it also happened to be the most expensive dessert on the menu. Definitely not worth it.

Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

We were near the area and decide to come here for their steak dinner. We enjoyed our dining…read moreexperience here very much! Matt our excellent server has a great sense of humor and welcoming personality. So much that we had to chat with the Manager, Bobby about him. The rib eyed steak - medium rare was scrumptious and the sides: mushrooms, baked potatoes & green beans cooked perfectly. Compliments to their chef/s! With what's happening in the world, the steaks are a little bit on the *ozempic thinner side but we still highly recommend because of the quality. Can't wait to bring our good friends from Arlington, down this way again. We drove over 30 minutes. We came to celebrate life! We left with a happy tummy, an awesome night full of smiles and laughter. Thanks y'all Elsie & Dr Johnson Thequeenofscalp The Floater Doctor

Tried 1845 for the first time and I'm honestly mad I'm just now discovering it…read more I'm a picky eater, so when I say EVERYTHING was good... I mean it. I started with the poblano meatballs and wow, so flavorful, perfectly seasoned, almost had that grilled taste . For drinks, I had a lemon drop martini and it did not disappoint. For my meal, I ordered the chicken fried chicken and baby... BEST I've ever had. The crust was seasoned perfectly, not too hard, and the chicken was juicy. I also tried the smothered chicken, just as good. And dessert?! Peach cobbler with a snickerdoodle cookie crust... hands down the best I've ever had. No notes. Shoutout to our waitress Heather, she was so sweet, attentive, and gave great recommendations. The manager Chris also came by a few times to check on us, which I really appreciated. 10/10 experience. I will definitely be back and telling everyone about this place!

It says a lot about how a business is ran in how they respond to a mistake. Drake's did phenomenal…read morein this regard. Went for a special night, reservations and everything, even arrived 10minutes earlier. We were not greeted by a server for 20-30 minutes PAST our reservation time, and to add on to that no water. We are typically pretty patient individuals, but eventually we flagged a waiter down, and from there the night flipped. I believe the server's name was Michael, great fellow and attentive. The FOH manager, Chris was phenomenal. Mistakes are inevitable in the restaurant industry so we understand. It is what is done after the fact that is a tell. They were great. Food was great and came out faster (On the fly). Now to the food and drink The cocktail martinis are great, cant go wrong with any. (We had the French 76 and Bleu&Gold) The Vin Scully Fries are great for the table Ribeye was great, cooked at correct temp. The Spicy Rigatoni (Zaza) was the favorite. The added sides were great complements but nothing stood out for us. Great FLUFFY cheesecake, I am not a fan of thick cheesecake, and this one was just right for the texture. We'll be back Valet parking Complimentary Limited street parking on a busy road Great interior, comfy seating

Pricey poisoning nightmare!…read more What was supposed to be a fancy celebratory night out ($725 with tip) at Drake's for my MIL's birthday ended with one of our family members in the ER and another 2 attached to the toilet (including my 72 MIL). This was roughly 6 hours after consuming seafood from this establishment. The frustrating part is we actually sent one of the 2 dishes back reporting to staff it had a strange odor/taste and was told we weren't familiar with lobster taste (being from NY this is untrue). My MIL was too embarrassed to send hers back so she ate her entire plate and my husband had about 1/4 of his before exchanging it for an alternate dish. As an emergency service provider I fully understand medical incidents like this can happen anywhere, but what prompted this review was way the situation was handled following my reporting. After reporting the incident to management we were met with what felt like an aggressive line of questioning about the members of our medical team and related details. I was told the incident would be escalated to upper management and the team would reach back out, but this never happened, even after a follow-up email. So, it's safe to say after spending a significant amount of money on what was supposed to be a special evening, the entire experience left a very bad taste in our mouths. At the very least, I would have expected some sort of gesture of goodwill or attempt to make the situation right -- even something as simple as a gift card or invitation to return for a better experience. Unfortunately, that never happened. Based on this experience, I would not choose to return and cannot recommend Drake's to others.
