We had the most amazing dinner starting with mocktails and cocktails at the bar. Then we were moved to our table. Jaycee, our waiter was super knowledgeable and so sweet. We ordered the Wagyu platter table side, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and the corn. The food was amazing but we couldn't eat it all. I do not understand the appeal of this place. We went for a birthday celebration, which I will acknowledge, they made a huge deal out of so they definitely made the celebrant feel good. We also had a wonderful server who did his best to be fun and accommodating. Food was fine, but lets be honest, there are a million good steakhouses in Dallas. I could have had this food in 50 different environments. And I wish I was in one of those other 50. To start, the place is very loud and very crowded. The tables are so close that you can barely walk through the dining room. And then, apparently as a table of 2 we got put in the back dungeon. Now, on one hand this was good, because it was certainly quieter (not quiet), but on the other hand, one of us was forced to stare at a wall throughout dinner while the other got to take in the room. No less than 3 couples that were sat next to us asked to move because the seating was so bad. I guess we were just suckers and stayed. And this may be a nit, but if I am going to a higher end dinner I would like a place to put my purse. Purse tree, stool, hook, anything. I ended up hanging my little bag from the back of my chair (I realize not safe) to have it whacked by everyone who walked by. I didn't want to sit there with it on my lap. Lastly, I would comment that we paid a full 30% more for a bottle of the exact wine that I purchased at Mister Charles the weekend before. What was I paying a premium for? The chaotic atmosphere? Was told that Nick and Sam's was an institution in Dallas dining. That I had not had a meal until I've eaten there. Well, now I've been there. Big party. Like 20 of us. Restaurant was dead when we arrived. Modestly busy when we left. Lots of pretty people and a few local celebrities. Very dark, old school style steakhouse. 20 people so we basically tried everything. I don't recall a single noteworthy appetizer. I had a wedge salad and it was not as good as a sad chain restaurant. Lots of steaks, some seafood, and other entrees. I had salmon. Was edible but I didn't finish it. Spice forward and couldn't taste the fish. Tried a few steaks and nothing to warrant the trip. Also no local steaks or chops were advertised. Really wanted to wrap early so I could find a light dinner someplace else in town. Service was very attentive. Half annoyed and half respect the hustle when the tried to upsell magnums of wine off a reserve list that topped out at $24k when we were on our 3-4th bottle of wine. The locals that recommended it apologized to the table when we were leaving. Too many good places in Dallas to come back anytime soon and seems to be surviving and thriving off their legacy. However , the food did not hit . The best thing that we had was the appetizers. the sides LOBSTER Mac and cheese.. tasted no lobster , CRAB elote .. it wasn't even hint of crab meat . The steak was good .... However I have eaten better at the mercury for half the cost . Also 6 dollars for a fizzless watered down coke zero is quite absurd if you ask me . We came here for my birthday and we had a great time except for the beginning. This place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. What i didn't like was the fact that they made it a big deal when i was wearing sweatpants, saying how this place was business casual.... but when we got seated, we saw multiple individuals wearing sport jerseys, regular tshirts and or crocs. Not sure if those same individuals got the same speech as me. As for the service and the food, both were excellent. We got seated, and they brought out different cuts of meats to showcase the selection. Shortly after they bought out table side bread and caviar. I was kinda shocked they were serving caviar, but i guess that is built into the price of the items on the menu. As mentioned, service was really good. They constantly came by to check in on us. Most of the steak entrees were about 60 bucks. We ended up getting the 26 oz PRIME AGED PORTERHOUSE to share between two people. As for the sides, we ended up getting duck duck mac, potatoes au gratin and the broccolini. The steak was prepared very nicely, and they came out and cut it for us. As for the sides, the best one was the potatoes au gratin. We also got dessert, which is on a separate menu and that was very good as well. This place also serves seafood, sushi and cuts of wagyu. I'm not a big steak person, so splitting was definitely a good idea. No complaints with the filet or the ribeye. In terms of sides, elote was better than Mac N Cheese. Time for an update, it's been five years after all! This visit was to host my husband's employees + significant others for a Merry Christmas + Thank You dinner. Service was good, although the waitstaff seemed like they were at the end of their shifts, not the beginning. The interactions were very formal and not personable or friendly. The noise level is already higher than normal so it's hard to hear and the waitstaff seemed frustrated we couldn't hear them. The food and drinks were enjoyed by all and everything not only tasted wonderfully, it was plated with eye-catching appeal. Most at the table chose steaks, but there was one order for the American Red Snapper and one for the Sam's Chopped Salad. They both looked incredible and the salad was huge! I chose the Grass Fed Australian Filet 8 oz was seasoned perfectly and was delicious! I also ordered the Roasted Brussel Sprouts - they were just okay, soggy and mostly tasting of garlic. I wouldn't get them again. I would however get the (appetizers) Calamari, Bang Bang Broccoli and Deviled Eggs again - they were incredible!! Made a Friday 8pm reservation several weeks in advance. Arrived a couple minutes before 8, checked in and was offered complimentary champagne. We were not sat until 9:20pm (1hr 20 min later), which is completely unacceptable really at any restaurant but especially a $250+pp establishment. Maybe a 20 minute wait is comped with a glass of champagne, but nearly 1.5 hours?? Several other couples that were there before us complained to the host. When we did, the host was shocked we had been waiting for so long and said a manager would come talk to us. After getting seated, we had a wonderful waitress and meal. Tableside caviar service, west and east coast oysters, tender octopus, soft bread service, an amazing bottle of Faust cab and two prime steaks. Loved the booth, lively atmosphere and decor. We had a 7:30 PM reservation on a Saturday night to celebrate my boyfriend and I's anniversary. We arrived early, around 7:20, to check in. Around 7:45, we overheard the front staff mention to another customer that their system was down, which affected table seating. We understand that technical issues can happen, so we continued to wait patiently. We were not seated until around 8:10 PM, and there was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay. Once seated, service initially moved quickly. Our server explained the menu, we ordered right away, and we enjoyed some delicious cocktails. A manager also came by to check in, which we appreciated, and at that point, everything seemed to be going well. Our food arrived soon after, and we treated ourselves to the 48-oz prime-aged porterhouse along with a few sides, all of which were good. Things slowed significantly when it came to dessert. Our server did not return for quite some time, long enough for us to consider skipping dessert altogether, but since it was our anniversary we still decided to order the celebration cake. The cake arrived as expected, but given the occasion, we had hoped for a sparkler or a something to make the moment feel special. Nothing additional was provided. We took most of it to-go and asked for our check. When the check arrived, we noticed a ~$95 bottle of wine that we had not ordered. We informed our server, who confirmed it was a mistake and provided an updated receipt. Unfortunately, this added to an already disappointing ending to the evening. We left shortly after, around 10:20 PM. This is the first time in all of our anniversaries that a restaurant has not mentioned or done anything to provide a premium dining experience for a special occasion. Honestly, I was wondering if I would be grossed out, but it was well presented and explained. We ordered the Dry age 16oz NY Strip and the Salmon. This was my first time trying a Dry age steak ... The jury is out for me on that one. While the tastes were flavorful, they weren't as juicy as I like my steaks. Honestly, I'd like to try a dry-age steak a few more time, before I go back to regular programming :-) Family sized sharing sides were the Augratin and the Brussel Sprouts ... Disappointing Easter Brunch Experience We had a very frustrating experience during Easter Brunch. Despite making our reservation through OpenTable over a month in advance for 1:00 PM, we were not seated until 3:00 PM. It was incredibly disheartening to see families with later reservations--some as late as 1:30--being seated ahead of us. The host seemed to be choosing which families to seat based on personal preference, which only added to the confusion and frustration. To make matters worse, when we were finally seated, another family was also scheduled to be placed at our same table, adding to the chaos. Thankfully, the management team, along with Cole Dhurandhar from Guest Relations, stepped in to address the issue. We're truly grateful for their efforts in calming the situation and doing what they could to make things right. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. Some items had clearly been sitting in the buffet trays too long and ended up mushy or overcooked. On a positive note, the sushi was freshly prepared, and the dessert bar offered a nice variety of options. There aren't enough words to express what this place means to me and my family. Nick and Sam's has been part of our lives for many years. I've shared countless meals here with my mom, dad, my two nieces, my brother and sister-in-law, and close friends. It has always been a place filled with love, laughter, and memories. After I lost my mom, dad, and two nieces in the July 4th floods, the team here did something I will never forget. They organized a benefit dinner in honor of my family and gave 100% of the proceeds to help us during this incredibly difficult time. That kind of generosity and compassion is something you don't come across often. I'm also grateful to know Samir, not just as an incredible chef but as a truly kind and caring person. The entire team showed up for us in a way that went far beyond anything I could have expected. Of course, the food and service here have always been outstanding--but what makes this place truly special is the heart behind it. They are not just a restaurant, they are family. 8/21/2025 Great atmosphere and staff. This was the first time in my "dining career" that the raw steak and seafood presentation smelled like rancid meat. There is no excuse for that. I have enjoyed hundreds of these displays throughout the country and I have never experienced a smell like that. Since I know the displayed meat is not for consumption, I had no problem ordering anyway. The food here, simply put, is basic. The upscale show they put on does not match the value of the dinner itself. Trust me, when I spend over $700 for a meal, my goal is definitely to enjoy it. I am not a critic. I'm just a guy who will spend tons of cash for great food to enter my body. I am in no means complicated. The menu is creative and fun, but the meat isn't unique or even worth all the fuss. If I were to rate N&S off of ambiance, food, and service - it would be 4 stars. It's a good staple spot. But after what I saw tonight, I won't be coming back. While hosting a dinner at Nick & Sam's tonight, one of our guests brought to my attention the Adolf Hitler mural on the wall. I proceeded to Google it to confirm that the caricature was indeed who we thought it was and it was confirmed. I've been here several times and have always considered this establishment a "staple". A place I would visit and bring guests to often. But no more. As my friend sat there facing this mural throughout dinner, he was reminded of how his grandmother was sent to a concentration camp, of the trauma that people in Europe still carry from one of the darkest periods in history. He told me that if a mural like this existed in his country, people would stand up and walk out immediately. To classify this as a "conversation piece" is deeply disturbing. This restaurant is extremely popular, and (myself included) many customers may not even notice what's portrayed on the walls. While Nick & Sam's has regularly provided what I look for in a dining experience, I will not be returning. It broke my heart to think that my friend sat there through his entire dinner and felt pain, discomfort, and distress in a place meant for joy and hospitality. I sincerely hope you reconsider the presence of this mural and the message it sends, intentionally or not, to your guests. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, I felt overwhelmed with how particular and excellent the service and atmosphere was. We came in on a Wednesday night, and the crowd was still extremely steady (and they claimed that was a slow night so I can only imagine a busy evening)... l did not get any photos of the entrees, but I do recall ordering Brussels sprouts, the chopped wedge salad, a nice filet, a lump crab cake, and Mac and cheese. I literally have zero complains as far as the flavors the food left on my palette either. If you have never experienced N&S, then you are certainly missing out. We have been coming to Nick and Sam's for years and it never disappoints! This year I had an intimate dinner with just my closest girl friends and it was a night to remember. Our server Olivia was so friendly and accommodating. Olivia asked about any restrictions. She was so attentive when I explained my complex diet lifestyle. I also mentioned I was allergic to shrimp (bummer, right?) and when my gal pal ordered the dumplings Olivia called out that there could be some crossover with the shrimp and recommended I steer clear. One of the most disappointing dining experiences I have encountered, marked by a complete lack of respect for customers' time and reservations. This past Saturday, our party of four had a confirmed reservation for seating in the bar area. Despite arriving on time, we were left standing in the lobby for approximately 45 minutes with no meaningful updates from the staff. During that time, we were told--twice--that they "needed to seat their regulars first." Hearing that paying guests with a reservation must wait while others are prioritized is both unprofessional and frankly insulting. After nearly an hour of waiting, we were finally told that we could sit in the main restaurant "if we wanted to be seated now," as though this was some sort of generous accommodation rather than the bare minimum expectation for honoring a reservation. The entire situation reflected a troubling level of disorganization and a disregard for basic hospitality standards. Reservations should represent a commitment to your guests' time, not a placeholder that can be ignored at the establishment's convenience. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated a lack of professionalism and respect that would make me hesitant to return or recommend this restaurant to others. read more

Food too was really good. The sushi was excellent. The oysters Rockefeller were delish but too much rock salt. Beautiful and delicious shrimp cocktail. Loved my perfectly good salmon with a chimichurrii type sauce. Delicious! I was excited about the baked Alaska but this one wasn't worth the calories. DO NOT let the reviews fool you this is by far the best Wagyu, Truffle fries (which is fries in general included) I've ever had in my LIFE the stairway to heaven is so so amazing the crab is amazing all the servers are so friendly and are super helpful please try this place the only complaint I have is the music can be a little much but nothing insanely terrible please try this place it's my favorite of all time restaurant!! read more
