Add some mint, basil, perilla, pickles, and plantains into the wrap and enjoy. You can also dip it in the sweet and tangy tamarind sauce or fish sauce. But, you should really go for it and use the fermented fish sauce. Try and step outside your comfort zone. Sure, it's funky, but its complex flavors really amplify this dish. Mi Toi Bo Luc Lac (Beef Garlic Noodles): The shaking beef is the ultimate Vietnamese-French fusion, seared with butter, black pepper, onions, and mushrooms. The cubes of tender filet mignon mix nicely with the garlicky egg noodles. Banh Hoi (Woven Vermicelli Noodles): The rice vermicelli noodles are woven together into flat bundles that resemble gauze bandages. Went here with friends and it was amazing. My friend knew the owner. I don't really know what to order when at a Vietnamese restaurant so it was great to have my buddy do it. The place was very clean and had a lot of people already eating. We were seated right away. The food was fantastic. From start to finish everything tasted so good. The stuff I like especially was the fish dishes. The soup with whole pieces of fish was my favorite. We had 2 different rolls one veggi and the other had meat. Both different and great flavor. I didn't take too many photos since I was starving and trying to take all of the food in. We must have had 10 dishes. Totally stuffed and I loved it. I definitely will be coming back for more. Heard about this place from a friend so we decided to try it out since we were in the area. This is quite a large restaurant that is divided into two dining rooms. There was a private party in the other space and we could hear loud music and some karaoke singing. The right side dining room that we were in had a center stage and looks like you can fit a hundred people for a party. Food was very good. We really enjoyed the grilled shrimp. Service was attentive. Anyways, the food was actually good but it was really overpriced for what it is. Service was decent, not too attentive but also not lacking. Ca Kho To - A staple dish in the Vietnamese household. The fish was fresh and did not have a fishy taste. The caramelized sauce was sweet and salty and went well with white rice. I'd say it was a little too salty but not bad if you're having rice. Cuon cai be xanh - I can't imagine where they thought charging over $4 per roll was reasonable. I get it's a little specialized but that's insane for spring rolls. It was good overall and different from your usual, but way too overpriced. Canh Chua - another household dish but it was just alright to me. We're so happy to have discovered this beautiful restaurant. We had 3 round tables of adults and young kids and we enjoyed the interior design, food and service. Lien was a wonderful person to work with to have pre-ordered dishes and she appreciates making good plans for larger groups. Delicious family style food! I greatly enjoyed every dish. Each dish is quite large and perfect for sharing with the family. My party was a party of 8 people. The garlic noodles with lobster tails - the tails are huge! Also, the garlic noodles slightly had a nice creamy sauce on them. Sooo good and different than just your regular ole butter garlic noodles. Since the lobster tails are so large, this dish does take some time to make but well worth it. Oc Len xao dua was great! It had a lot of ocs in them - definitely did not skimp. Didn't have heavy coconut flavor but still good sauce. This was my first time having this kind of goi / salad. Never had it with fried fish before but it was soo yummy! Very rare dish, as it is typically not on any menus of most viet restaurants. My family and I had lunch here today on a Sunday. We made reservation ahead of time for 12 people and got two round tables put together. There was a huge Christmas party for senior people in the main area with the whole stage and karaoke and dancing so it was extremely loud but lively....i guess free entertainment? The service itself we really like actually. They definitely did not have enough staff but all their limited staff worked so hard and were so accommodating and so nice! The owner was super nice and sweet too and she was super busy tending everywhere. We got two orders of the large size baked catfish (abkur $69.99 each) and the portion and all the veggies dipping sauce rice noodle that came with it was a lot more than at other restaurant! We also got the caramelized catfish which was really good. Two bowls of the canh chua tom (Vietnamese sweet and sour soup with shrimp), and one com chay with cha bong and lap xuong (burnt rice with shredded pork and Chinese sausage). Portions were big so we did not finish our food at all. Good thing we did not order more! Oh we also for egg rolls which was also really good! Overall everything was really tasty and yummy and they were very accommodating trying to get our orders in early so we won't get delayed with the huge senior party's orders. This is the restaurant to go to if you want authentic Vietnamese food. We ordered a medium baked catfish that came with an assortment of veggies, vermicelli noodles, and rice paper so we could make our own rolls. The skin of the fish was extra crispy while the flesh was juicy. It was absolutely delicious! They had a variety of dipping sauces. I loved the tamarind sauce. We also ordered the Cuon Ca Be Xanh, which is pork belly and shrimp wrapped in a green leaf veggie, kinda like a green leaf lettuce. It was soooooo yummy! This is one of those full-service, banquet style restaurants that specializes in seafood and many Vietnamese family style favorites. I feel like these bigger restaurants that could accommodate huge groups are going the way of the dodo bird. The last time I came here was when my parents were in town, and a bunch of my aunts and uncles and family friends met up here for a late lunch/ early dinner. I thought all the food here was delicious and it reminded me somewhat of the stuff that my mom made when I was growing up. I thought the lobster garlic and those were great. And the comforting dishes like the fish sweet and sour soup, the braised fish, the shaking beef, and various sautéed veggies were all wonderful. I thought the service was fine too. But maybe it helps to speak Vietnamese here ha ha. I didn't do any of the ordering, but it seemed like it was very easy and they were attentive and accommodating to our group. Also, I must note that it helps to go to a place like this when a generous family member is picking up the tab. I'm sure it was quite expensive , but I can't speak to that. Overall, if you want a delicious meal with lots of traditional dishes available and be able to have a nice sit down meal with a giant family, this is a great place. This spot is great for extra large family gatherings. I usually get Bo Luc Lac with garlic noodles. It's no Crustacean by any means, but it's still satisfying. But last time I was here, I had the egg rolls for the first time. WHAT!! They are super crispy because they use the weaved rice noodles instead of boring rice paper or wontons for the wrapping. This should be a very nice restaurant as it is nicely decorated. There's white tablecloth. Food is decent, however, attitude of owner & servers are horrible. They have very limited servers who ignore you and are non-communicative. Also, service is terribly slow. Our American friends did not get any utensils and we got NO napkins. Food came out one by one at more than 15 minutes intervals with no serving utensils. When we finally got the napkins and utensils, the food got cold. The owner was there and came around to take orders but with no greetings and a cold face. There are so many other restaurants around with very good food so we will not be returning here. I loved the Cuon Cai Be Xanh (lettuce rolls with pork and shrimp). I've never seen the meat tied outside on top and each bite was fresh and delicious with the fish sauce. I ordered the Mi Xao (crispy egg noodles with mixed seafood) and loved the mix between crispy noodles and soft noodles in sauce. There was plenty of seafood and veggies also. Lastly, I got the Tre 3 Mau and it came in a large mug. I've not had that in a while so it brought a smile to my face and tummy! My family also got Goi (mango salad) and Canh Ga Chien Nuic Mam) to share, both of which were great. The dishes are large portions, perfect for sharing or enjoying all for yourself! This restaurant is actually a small banquet hall. They serve food that you will typically have for a Vietnamese weddings. However, you can enjoy those dishes without being invited to a Việt wedding. Portions are huge. We ordered 5 dishes for 5 people and left feeling so stuffed plus some leftover to take home. I loved the tamarind sauce squid salad. Very flavorful and different from other restaurants around the area. Everything else is missing something in the seasoning to take the dish from being edible to excellent. Don't expect a fast service if there's another party hosted when you're there. They don't have enough staff. We had a late lunch after my father's funeral. This is a very difficult and stressful time for me but the restaurant made the process easy and smooth. They arrange the chairs beautiful and the food was delicious. Ms. K Lien followed up with me to make sure everything was set for the 40 guests. All the guests loved the food and the price was very reasonable. The butter garlic chicken wings were crispy and flavorful. The mango salad with steamed squid was refreshing and fresh. The egg noodles with seafood was a favorite amongst the group and all the other dishes were also amazing! Everything was excellent from beginning to end. They are very understaffed, therefore, communication becomes difficult when there is so little server but so many customers to be taken care of. The owner is unwelcoming, all she does is boss around her staffs and doesn't even try to help the customers herself. Stunning food can come in styrofoam packages. Ngoc Suong is a restaurant in Westminster that seems to have quietly been chugging along for almost 4 years. Not to be confused with any similarly named establishments in San Jose, this Ngoc Suong is located close to the heart of Little Saigon. The interior appears to be quite the looker from the photos on Yelp, but I didn't get to experience that, nor did I experience the rest of the atmosphere or any of the service. Instead, I was treated to a to-go order of Mi Toi Bo Luc Lac ($16.99), which I'd translate as garlic noodles with shaking beef. I typically eat Bo Luc Lac with the traditional rice, but I've also enjoyed it with French baguette and in a fusion preparation with the wholly unrelated french fries, so I was excited to try it with yet another carb option. Having enjoyed it at room temperature hours after it was ordered, I have to say that this is a spectacular. The beef is plentiful considering the price, and each piece was tender. More importantly, the noodles are luscious, the onions are caramelized, and the mushrooms are cooked properly. This dish was full of garlic and umami without being overly greased or leaving me longing for more veggies. Ngoc Suong will be worth a visit in the future if only for this one dish. It's a cute small place. The Bo Luc Lac was good. I wish there was more meat. If you zoom into the photo, there is more mushrooms than there is any meat. And then the bottom layer is of course lettuce and tomatoes. The lobster dish with garlic noodles was good. They didn't really open the lobster good enough because it was hard to extended the lobster meat out. A lot of the guests just left the lobster and ate the garlic noodles.
