Fantastic chicken fried steak, perfect veggies! Clam chowder was delicious too!! I can't wait to come back!

Delicious!!! Great service; chili was child temp for my kiddo & they brought it out first. We're all happy with dinner & look forward to coming back.

We were crazing breakfast for dinner! One of the only, if not the only, restaurant in Newport that does all day breakfast! Even the piggly wiggly was closed!! Staff was phenomenal and super attentive. Plenty of seating and would be good for medium party sizes.

Crab Sammy and onion rings.

Old time, local, friendly, eclectic place with very rapid service and a willingness to make the customer happy. The Benedict was quite good. The crab sandwich was reallllly good. The burger was good. The fish was cooked perfectly but probably was breaded too soon while thawing? Decent dessert choices including key lime pie and cheese cake. Bought a sticker and a sweatshirt.

Had to come in and get the 8lb monster burger. Let me just say this exceeded all of my expectations. Not only was the service great, and the staff amazing. The burger was incredible! You might think that the quality might suffer because of the massive size. Not the case whatsoever, actually one of the best burgers I've had. The best part was it didn't end, I got to enjoy this until I couldn't take another bite. Then I got to enjoy it as leftovers for days to come. This could literally feed a whole family! Highly recommend this item!

Very laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, and amazing food. I had the Eggs Benedict, and 1 biscuit and gravy with a cup coffee (which is very good as well)...

Amazing staff, very friendly and very relaxed and comforting vibe, not to mention the great food; the homemade fries are great and the burger was delicious.

I recently traveled out of state from Las Vegas to visit a charming café, and it was definitely worth the trip. The food was very good, with everything made fresh to order. Each dish had a delightful homemade quality that really stood out. However, I felt that the menu could use a little more variety. While the dishes were tasty, a few more options would have made the experience even better. It did take while for us to place our order. The decor on the walls gives me the impression that someone here used to be a boxer or fighter turned business owner.

Small town café atmosphere. The biscuits and gravy are amazing. Prime Rib roast and eggs was medium rare, very good. Good link sausage. And good coffee. Friendly service. Good selection of hot sauces.

Chile Rellenos, beans, two eggs over easy and biscuit. YUM!
Evelyn S.

My meal was excellent! Service - A+ Flavor of food - A+ Quantity of food - A+ Coffee - A+ Selection - A+ I ordered the Chile Rellenos from the breakfast menu (I think it was $17). I requested a biscuit rather than the corn tortillas that would usually be served with this entree. I loved each and every bite! The meal included beans (black and pinto combo) two eggs (I chose over easy) salsa, the best chile relleno I've ever had the pleasure to eat. The coffee was great too. If they were local to where I live, I'd be back to try everything else on the menu. The outside of the building and the view from inside to outside is nothing special while the inside is cute.

Nate 2026 Newport, Oregon…read more Came here based on recommendations from somebody in Bend, Oregon, and a local. I will start by saying I was not impressed. We had a reservation and they took us in a few minutes early and sat us upstairs. We sat near the window that overlooks the harbor and could see it from our table. Very pretty. There is a bar area and other tables that are away from the window that don't have the same view. When we were approached by the waitress, she informed us that they were out of Dungeness crab. Our reservation was at 6:15 PM. Seems a bit odd that a town known for Dungeness crab and the restaurant doesn't have it during peak dinner hours. My husband ordered a cup of clam chowder, and I ordered a cup of the Dungeness crab soup. I loved the creaminess of my soup. However, it was not served hot. Also, there were so many shells in my soup that every bite I had to remove one from my mouth. I do believe that the roux sauce had too much flour and was not mixed well. The clam chowder was not creamy, but had a good flavor. Chunks of carrot and celery. Both soups were served with a portion of bread. The bread was good. We shared the salmon dish. We asked our waitress if we could have the peas on the side as my husband has an allergy to peas. She was quick to tell me that there would be no substitutions. I informed her I was merely asking for the peas to put on a separate dish when brought to the table. She said that she would need to clear it with the kitchen first. Apparently, they approved, as the peas were served on the side. We did enjoy the salmon. It is cooked, medium rare. However, the middle of the salmon fillet was more rare. The buttery sauce was delicious and the asparagus was cooked very well. The mushrooms were delicious. The restaurant is very casual. The outside is not much to look at. The service was fine, but not exceptional. The food was good, but my expectations were so much higher for all of the accolades I had heard prior to dining. They add an automatic tip of 20% to every tab. Then on the bill, they politely ask for an additional gratuity. See the picture of the reason for their 20% gratuity on each bill in the photos that I have attached. I would give this restaurant four stars. It is a B rating for what should be an A restaurant.

People who came without a reservation were told that there's about an hour wait or they could sit at the bar level on the first floor. There's also a second bar on the second floor where the main dining room is up a flight of stairs. Service was great and we were lucky enough to sit by the window overlooking the sea lions, the water, and the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Food wise, it was mostly 5 star. I'll start with the thing that wasn't, and that was the deviled eggs (you get 3) with a lightly fried shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked, lukewarm, and didn't really add anything. But other than that, everything else was really good. The highlight was the Umpqua oysters on the half shell. We went through a dozen and a half. The oysters are sweeter, no briny. They're not huge but not tiny either like Kusshi oysters. It came with 3 different sauces. Another highlight was the whole dungenous crab...so fresh. Poke salad, garlic brussel sprouts, Yellowtail Hamachi, and Lingcod were also pretty good. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely return.

It was a thicker clam chowder, but it was absolutely delicious. Creamy, and they were generous with the ingredients. A very good bowl of chowder. For my main course, I had the combination halibut, king Salmon, and tuna. They were very generous with the portions. The fish was delicious. The halibut and the salmon were tender and juicy. The tuna was just a tiny bit chewier, but it was also very good. The fish was lightly breaded, although a few of the pieces. Were a bit darker than the others. That took away from it just a tiny tiny bit. But overall, successful. The tartar sauce was very good, rich and tangy. Instead of the fries, I finished with the coleslaw. It was not overdressed, and I liked the dressing. It was a sweeter dressing than your standard mayonnaise, but not overly sweet. It was an excellent coleslaw. For all of the quality food I got, the price was very reasonable. I would come back the next time. I'm in town. Thank you!
