I liked their menu, and they were almost across the street from my motel, so I came in for breakfast. The place is clean, and the people are friendly. It has a nice "coffee shop vibe. " there is also a small gift shop. The server comes to my table quickly, and the food also comes quickly. I decided to go for the razor clams and eggs. I asked for the eggs lightly over easy, and I asked if I could have fruit, instead of potatoes. She said, no problem. The food comes, and it came with hash browns, instead of fruit. I didn't send the order back, because I needed to get on the road. The hash browns were okay, they were just your generic restaurant hash browns. The toast was a good quality sourdough, and the coffee was also very good. The star of this breakfast, was definitely the razor clams and eggs. The razor clams were just lightly breaded. Just right. They were a little chewier on the end, but hey, that's the foot of the clam. It's to be expected. The main body of the clam, was so tender, and the entire thing was a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, with just a "pop" of brininess. Absolutely amazing. They came with a good tartar sauce, but I didn't need it. It actually took away from the flavor a little bit. The eggs were also perfectly done, with plenty of the "yolk action" for dipping the clams that I love. The price was the higher end, but reasonable for what I got. A must go to for breakfast/brunch! Huge menu with a lot of options, I have a hard time choosing sometimes. The crepes are great, and the eggs benny are one of my favs! Little gift shop area with cute knick knacks and some Pig 'N Pancake merch. Service is great always! We went again today for Mothers Day brunch and our server was great! I had a bad experience at Pig' N Pancake due to the quality of food and horrible service. The sourdough pancakes tasted really bad, it almost had a metallic taste to it- at the first bite. I've had sourdough pancakes from other restaurants before and have always really enjoyed sourdough pancakes so I was excited to try it, but it was inedible due to how it tasted. When I told the waitress about it, she was very rude and made me feel uncomfortable. I tried their original pancake and it was just okay- edible but lacked any flavor. We had a false start on a 5am trip to Portland on a rainy dreary Monday for a number of reasons. So at 5:45am my 21yo said, can we get breakfast and stare at the ocean while we eat? Sure! Well, easier said than done. Most Newport places aren't open at 6am, but P & P is. We moved here in Dec but hadn't been yet. We have been to all the P &Ps before we moved here. I called at 6:05. The staff person was so nice and cheerful! We ordered: strawberry waffle, side of sausage, an Arnold Palmer, stack of buttermilk pancakes, side of bacon. With 20% tip we spent $60. Ouch. But everything was ready in 10 minutes, packed nicely, really hot and fragrant. It was a pretty satisfying breakfast and we both saved over half for later. ( who can eat 6 pancakes at once!?) It is predictable and safe. But like most everything else at the coast a little spendy. And yes, I could have made breakfast at home. (Insert shrug emoji here). read more

Construction on booths which was very loud. Brought the wrong order. Manager did not believe that I was served the wrong order. They should have a note on the door alerting customers of construction. We will not be going back. I ordered Benedict with crab but served ham. New order came with no hashbrowns, just the egg Benedict. I also asked for the corrected order to go as my husband was finished by the time I received the correct order. It's been a 2 weeks since I came here, but I forgot to write a review. There is a running joke among my friends and I every time there is something the FDA has recalled, and it goes, "Chicken fried steak never killed anybody". Well this places chicken fried steak came close. I can't even call it that. It was more like chicken fried shoe leather, over dehydrated eggs and horrible hash browns. I'm not sure it was even beef. I know the eggs were dehydrated. I wish I could pick zero stars. This experience was full of pain and suffering. Firstly the customer service was arguably terrible. The waiter threw water on my feet and eggs. While we were on the topic of eggs they were undercooked and almost raw. Another undercooked item was the ham. I would not be surprised if I get a disease. The price of coffee here is diabolical. Typical P&P. No surprises. They open at 06:00 which is great for me since I like to be up and out early. Ham, eggs and flapjacks for $20 plus gratuity. Decent breakfast although I am more of a greasy spoon diner guy. Vikki was great. Don't know what the complaints are all about. Our server, Shelly couldn't have been nicer. Ordered the Oregon razor cams and eggs. I got 2 clams but they were gigantic. Both had the surface area of a good sized NY strip steak. Definitely a good meal. Shelly said they get their clams from Astoria. I love it when they know where my food originated. Newport is about an hour or so north of Yachats. My partner and I spent a wet (but peaceful and pleasant) night at South Beach State Park in Newport, then woke up famished. He got on Yelp and found the Pig 'N Pancake and we drove right over after breaking camp and prior to going to the Aquarium. He had the Dungeness crab and cheese omelet with pancakes and I had the chicken fried skillet because I was starving. The food came quickly and the portions were HUGE! Everything was delicious, hot, and fresh. Our waitress was fabulous, too: friendly, on the spot every time we needed anything, fun, funny, and took her time answering our questions so our weary brains could assimilate the info she gave us about the menu without haste. The location is easy to access from Hwy 101 and there was open parking despite the restaurant being pretty busy. We had no wait to be seated, either. We loved Pig 'N Pancake! read more

Always wanted to stop in here simply because of the name, finally did 7 years later! This restaurant is immaculate in cleanliness and everything looks new. The solid wood tabletops and chairs are a very nice touch and noticed. The food was good and the pancakes i ordered had a nice unique taste. Paired it with some eggs as that's what I typically like. The restaurant lost a star for a few reasons. Pancakes seemed to be on serving shelf for a little bit as, while not cold, they weren't hot off the griddle. Customer service, the waitstaff, for my table was really non existent. This should've cost a full star by itself but think was just my waiter, other tables looked like had good service. Food was good though something was missing, don't really know what. For what you get the food is overpriced, even considering in a tourist trap like town on the ocean. I generally rate higher than the average person but this still wasn't my best dining experience, not even close to what expected. Likely won't be back but glad I did come here! read more

Pig N Pancake has several locations scattered along the Oregon coast and just recently was my first time that I went to one. We have friends that really enjoyed it and although we don't always agree on what we like when it comes to eating we did enjoy this place so their recommendation in that case at least was spot on. I had a great stack of pancakes that hit the spot and several of us in our party had a couple different omelets which were very good as well.
