Absolute gem! We stayed in Yachats and it was so crowded and kind of late so we thought we'd look up a cafe in Waldort. It was Sunday and we walked in just looking for some breakfast. Turns out they have open mic every Sunday. The first guy started off with "Sunday Morning Coming Down." As he sang there were a bunch of older folks walking in with their instruments. Like a stand up bass, a guy with a flute tied to his back with rope. It felt like all the old musical hippies were coming down from the hills to play. This was the most wonderful surprise I've seen in a long time. Food was good as was the coffee. I'll drive quite a distance in the future to go to this place. read more

We stopped in here to see what they had to offer. Lots of drinks to choose from - - so happy to see they have dirty chai on the menu. Plenty of dairy free milk options, too. And their chai isn't presweetened so you have a choice. We chose unsweetened and it was delicious. No gluten-free dairy-free baked goods options for me but I hear they make a yummy pumpkin chocolate chip cookie. So glad Chill Cafe was open at 7am for breakfast as all others seem to open later. Good breakfast, nice service and clean location. This place is quite large with both indoor and outdoor seating. All the great reviews, but wow, average at best! Nice people and I hope they do well, and granted I'm a foodie so my expectations are higher than average, but their food was very simple and average; had breakfast sandwiches and a quiche (hard to call it a quiche, more like microwaved eggs with a few bacon bits). Lattes were the worst I've ever had (we had the Forest meets the Sea(?), and the French Toast Latte), pretty sure it's just coffee with Coffee Mate. I don't like to leave negative reviews. but feel like someone needs to set more realistic expectations! read more

A hidden gem in a small town. The sandwiches are great. We got the jalapeño popper grilled cheese which was uniquely delicious. If creating a custom sandwich the homemade pesto is a must. Also one of the most delicious brownies almost tasted like hot chocolate. read more

We had the most amazing meal at Cafe Chill, and the best service ever! Arrived near lunchtime, ordered a the triple decker club with housemade potato salad. And separately a bacon gruyere quiche. The meal arrived quickly in about 10 minutes to our table, and meanwhile we enjoyed an italian soda and chai latte. This cafe also features local artwork and live music on occasion. Of course, we couldn't leave without some amazing desserts - a blonde brownie, carrot cake, and cinnamon twist. Oh yeah, and a pretzel bagel and cappuccino for the road! What a lovely local cafe this is. Excellent food, incredible staff, and lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to return! read more

If you love good baked foods like me, you'll love this place. Waldport is very small and almost no options for a cuppa and a quick bite, but this place could stand out in a big city. The staff here truly cares about their guests. The cozy atmosphere, soft lighting, and local artistry create the perfect setting of 'CHILL' A big thank you to Diana the proprietor and civic activist at Café Chill for telling us history & local stories of the small but charming picturesque town. One bite, and I was no longer at Chill--I was in Paris, lounging under the Eiffel Tower, savoring every moment. The roast beef? Generous, tender, and thinly sliced to perfection. The Swiss? Just the right amount of melty, tangy "Pow!" And the au jus? Liquid gold. Deep, rich, and so flavorful it should be bottled and sold as a national treasure. We went here when we were on vacation visiting and we had such a great experience! Food was great and fresh and the coffee was to die for! Loved the space and service they offered and they even had live music.
