This is my spot - boo!
James L.

I really love this cafe. I have to stay in Nye Beach so that in the morning, I can walk to Ultralife, have a good coffee and read the NYT. Maybe a delicious donut - why not? And ohmygawd are the scones good, maybe best I've had. There's a cool vibe here, steps from the ocean. The people helping you are cool, and the people getting coffee are cool. Nye Beach is pretty cool. I recommend.

My wife and I came here twice and each time we were so impressed by the quality of the food, the quality of the drinks, and most importantly how friendly the entire staff was. They were pretty busy he had to everyone had this incredible attitude and really made us feel at home. It is also a very cute shop on the inside which is warm and welcoming.

Stopped by Ultra life cafe for a caffeine boost before our long way home. The shop is very cute with lots of seating. We did not have their baked goods but they had lots of yummy looking offerings and some gluten free as well! The barista was friendly and helpful Making drink suggestions. The drinks themselves were not our favorite. The latte tasted burnt and the blended energy drink I had with "fresh fruit" did not taste like fresh fruit it tasted like the fruit syrup blend you get at Dutch brothers. While we didn't like our selections I would come back and give them another go.

LOOOVED this place. The cuteness factor is worth five stars alone, but the quality of the baked goods was amazing. Particularly gluten-free options. I had a breakfast sandwich on a gluten-free biscuit that was heavenly. They also have this self serve bakery case that looks like heaven. I was there in the morning and it was bustling for sure. But it also looks like they might do cocktails later in the day. Everything looked and tasted fresh and the service was friendly. This is a new go to in Newport for me.

Great spot to grab a bite while exploring Newport. I got the Avocado Caprese Bagel and it was so delicious. The coffee cheesecakes was a wonderful treat. The cashier was very welcoming and the prices are decent for the area. The cafe is a little cramped when they got busy. We plan on come back the next we visit.

Iced honeycomb latte and purple smoothie

Amazing coffee, pastries, and customer service. The girls seem happy to work here and it has such a cute aesthetic vibe. Get the honeycomb latte!

Bustling lil cafe with cozy environment and many vegan options. I had a breakfast type of pannin- tasty and well priced (just a bit too hot - oven/wave). My latte was delish too!

Açaí bowl. Delicious

The Baristas here are very good. My macchiato came out perfectly. There is quite a substantial menu of drinks and eats for such a small shop. Fortunately they have a nice seating area with tables inside. The staff really are pleasant and fun to interact with. We found that they have an açaí bowl, so we had the Passion Fruit Tiki. It was really refreshing, even this carnivore enjoyed it. If we had these in our hometown I would definitely be a bit healthier eating these more routinely. Just for laughs I said "that was too healthy, let's share a doughnut". So we did and it was delicious. Then we found out it actually was a healthy version being vegan and gluten free..... I am chagrined by this. ....and I loved it. If healthy food is going to taste good, then BRING it!

This is a gem of a place in Nye Beach and has some terrific bakery and food menu items along with great coffee and even beer, wine and cocktails too!. I had an old fashioned mimosa and it was a great choice. We also had the Bloody Mary too.

Cute coffee shop! They seem to offer an array of different things but I stuck to donut and coffee. The vegan donut was so delicious! I unfortunately don't have a picture of what I ordered. Sometimes it's too delicious to even wait. But I do have a picture from right outside their shop. Go for the food stay for the views! Literally right on the beach. Such a treat for someone who no longer lives on the coast.

One of our favorite stops for coffee and a scone. Friendly service. We have had lunch here before, and it was good. But not the day of this review. Great little area to be in. Can't go wrong for stopping here.

Storefront up the hill from Nye Beach (8/31/24)

After visiting the bakery across the street, I walked into its polar opposite, Ultralife Cafe (8/31/24). I checked in and noticed there was a Yelp perk of a free doughnut. This was confirmed this was indeed true, but not including the other larger pastries. I ordered a mocha, which was an automatic 2 shot, 16oz beverage ($5.35). There was a brief wait due to the large party ahead of me whose bev orders were being prepared. This gave me a chance to look around. There's a doughnut and pastry self-serve case, cafe merch, coffee roasts, acai bowls, cocktails, various other bevs...looks like a cafe that covers different niches and a plus, more onsite seating. However, I did sit again at one of the outdoor sidewalk benches after claiming my piping hot mocha. No cup sleeves available. I cropped photos on my phone and people watched while seated outside. With the afternoon breeze, eventually my cup was comfortable to carry back a block away to my car. Tasty mocha, thank you Ultralife Cafe.

Was served a flavorless brown matcha here. Disappointed after the menu promised "authentic high quality". Not doing that again!

Not the best breakfast. Burnt pieces from the press and a slightly acrid flavor. Great location.

It's pretty small inside and definitely has an antique shop feel. There's lots of different styles and things around. There are a few small tables scattered throughout. The lady at the front was very kind and happy to walk us through their options. They have one small case that's mostly savory and one small case that's sweets with a tiny truffle case on the counter. I think the move here is the cinnamon roll, but when we arrived they were still baking, which meant it smelled delightful, but were weren't able to try one. We ended up trying the breakfast muffin, which was really unique. It's a muffin with cheese and spinach baked in, along with an entire strip of bacon just under the surface, and an entire egg baked in the middle. It was good, but I'm not sure I would order it again. I'm not usually a scone fan, I prefer a muffin, but their scones looked good. We tried the blueberry lemon and the cranberry orange. They were both really flavorful with a good texture, not super dry. The blueberry edged out the cranberry for me because the blueberries were fresh, whereas the cranberry were dried. This is a cute small shop, clearly making everything from scratch with passion. I'd stop back in for a cinnamon roll for sure!
