We were camping in the area and decided to go for a drive since it was pouring and not much to do but get soaked in February. We found this cute little coffee place that is so much more! The folks behind the counter were nice and attentive greeting us right away and both ready to help us with our order. They have a variety of things from fudge to baked goods. They have ice cream, milkshakes and even breakfast items like burritos, oatmeal and more. They asked me when I ordered my dirty chai with 2 espresso shots if I wanted coffee ice cubes??? WHAT??? The answer is always YES! This makes for a fantastic addition to any iced coffee to prevent it from watering down. The girl took a lot of care in crafting my drink and it came out delicious. While traveling the Oregon Coast with my husband, we stopped at Devils Punchbowl and noticed a small shop offering coffee and sweets. As a coffee lover, I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When I asked the barista what roast they served, she seemed unsure and had to ask the manager. That should have been my first warning sign. After confirming they had a medium roast, I ordered an iced coffee with dairy milk. Instead, I was given a hot coffee. When I clarified that I wanted it iced, I watched as the barista simply poured the hot coffee over ice, which watered it down immediately. The result was one of the worst coffees I've ever had--thin, flavorless, and undrinkable. I regret not returning it, but at that point I just wanted to leave. While this shop may be fine for sweets, I strongly suggest skipping the coffee. If you're looking for a quality cup, you won't find it here. read more

I come to this place 1-4 times a week. I've never been waited on by the elderly lady, until now. I was early for work in the area and just wanted a few ice cubes. I brought my OWN CUP. Anyway, I asked if I could have some ice and she abruptly and not in a nice way at all said sure $.75. I am most certainly in the past have been charged in various places for a cup of ice when I require a cup as well but if I want three or four ice cubes, nobody's ever charged me for a couple of ice cubes and I'm 58. So I have asked for ice many a time. I was very disappointed in today as experience. I am a small business owner as well so I understand needing to make money and not give your stuff away for free however I am an excellent tipper and frequently go to this establishment. I hope the next time I'm in which will be later this afternoon. The atmosphere has changed. read more

This morning, we walked over in the morning for much needed cups of coffee and cocoas for the kids. The guy behind the counter, late 30s maybe (so old enough to know better) was SO upset that we were expecting him to do his job. I can't believe how much attitude we were given over two lattes (one iced, that was maybe his breaking point), 2 regular coffees (it was the most watery, gross coffee I have ever paid for) and some hot cocoas. One of the drinks was a small when that wasn't what we ordered or what we paid for. Crap coffee aside-when you treat your customers like everything that they ask for is a personal burden on you, you should not be working in a customer service position. $45 for terrible coffee and rude service makes this a never again for us. read more

Not sure what's up with the guy up front but by the poster in the back preaching about being a holy coffee shop I totally get it. 3 people working and it took over 20 minutes to make our order. They could make a killing being the only coffee to walk to from the inn. What a fun little find this shop was! We stopped at Devils Punchbowl on a whim, and as I have a special radar for sweets spots, I zeroed right in on Cliffside. They offer ice cream, soft drinks, a variety of prepared hot and cold drinks, a bit of food, fudge, a few baked goodies like cookies and brownies, candy, and chocolates. While the latter is not made in house, it is from a chocolatier in Portland, so I love that they are supporting a local company. Service was quick and friendly, and prices were very reasonable. I nabbed some chocolates for myself, with my favorites being the marionberry jelly stick (larger than usual with a slight violet flavor, I think?!), the huckleberry cream (great consistency, slight artificial flavor, but overall pleasant), and best of all was the seafoam (available in dark chocolate (the only way to eat it!) with perfect light, crispity texture). While there was no seating inside the shop, picnic tables abound all over the Devil's Punchbowl area, and I would love to return for a treat to enjoy while meandering the winding paths and admiring the punchbowl, pretty scenery, and watching the many surfers who utilize this beach. read more

This is my third visit there and each time I loved what I got. Today it was the pumpkin scone. I am all about pumpkin spice and this was delicious. Not too sweet, nice amount of spice with a really nice drizzle of icing on top. Then I walked outside for the breathtaking view enjoying the kind tides. I'm definitely coming back. read more

A fabulous ambiance right next to the Pacific Ocean, a real cottage feel. The fudge is out of this world! (Sea salt & crunchy peanut butter) The coffee was not that great. (Very acidic.) First, very friendly staff! Their fudge...OMG! Highly recommend the butter pecan (super nummy!) and maple (a softer version of those little maple candies). Pastry was good, the one we got tasted good, but was the last one so it was a little dry from sitting we think. Coffee is strong and smooth. I would recommend a stop if your in the area, if for nothing else to cash in their buy 4, get 2 fudge special. Pricing was on par for the coast imo. read more
