Nye beach steps away from The Blue Pig Bakery

I found this adorable bakery steps away from Nye Beach in Newport, Oregon. The inside is adorable, the atmosphere inviting. So many amazing pastries to choose from, everything fresh. I got the brownie and a latte. The brownie was 4 brownies in one. Triple chocolaty chunks of chocolate on top of chocolate. Incredible fresh yummy perfection. The girl behind the counter was very friendly, she let me come inside with my dog. My latte was hot and delicious. I took my treats to the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed my brownie & latte!

Beyond adorable mod podge of random items make the space feel like the inside of a busy mind. Little bits and bobs stuck everywhere give it a whimsical feeling. There is seating inside for about 10 people in smaller groups. Various sweet and savory pastries available until they're not. The peanut butter cookie was one of the best we've ever had. They also have a cardamom drink that is like a warm hug. There is nearby free parking and a walk up window.

A most excellent bakery that's also a visual feast! The Blue Pig is an absolute gem. My boyfriend and I shared a cinnamon roll that was, hands down, one of the best we've ever had--"10/10"! The texture was spot-on: slightly chewy, never dry, and the icing was fabulously rich without being overpowering. They warmed it up for us, and every bite was pure happiness. But it's not just about the baked goods--the atmosphere is something truly special. The space is filled with whimsical and eclectic treasures: tiaras, crystal chandeliers, vintage books (we spotted one from 1903!), plates of seashells, and endless delightful curiosities. It's part bakery, part art installation, and 100% charming. Highly recommend stopping by for both the treats and the experience. It's a place that makes you smile from the moment you walk in.

Cute little place in Newport to grab a bite and chill. They have tasty muffins and breads here. They have many items for sale that are incorporated in the seating area so you can browse while dining. The service is order at the counter and pay and pickup. So it would be just as easy to take out and head on your way all in all a good stop. I'll definitely stop by when I'm in the area again.

Great food! Make sure to get there early, as things run out quickly. The cinnamon roll was incredible, the scone was great, and the breakfast muffin was fantastic. We also enjoyed the cookies. There isn't a lot of room to sit, but it was beautiful outside so we took it out to eat on the beach. Highly recommended!

Sold out of pain au chocolat. Bought "Very Soft Pumpkin Bread" ($5.50, 8/31/24)

Hmmm, Blue Pig? Such a curious name, un cochon bleu? This place gave me vibes of purposeful antique, vintage, Francophile. I had a chance to browse while two sisters were completing their coffee, baked goods, and whole cake sale. Looked through a container that had stickers for a dollar. I struck out, no pain au chocolat available. So I decided on a slice of their "Very Soft Pumpkin Bread" ($5.50). I nibbled on it while seated on an outdoor bench, noting the Labor Day holiday weekend foot and car traffic had picked up. It was tasty, but a bit steep. It didn't hold a candle to the pumpkin bread (grandma recipe) from Cafe Javasti in Seattle, just saying. I really wished I bought some their ginger bread too. They carry various retail and gift items, plus chocolates, cupcakes, whole cakes, cookies, quick breads, cinnamon rolls, laminated pastries. Sweet and savory offerings, but by midday missed out for the daily selection. Located to the right after the Nye Beach access arch.

Apricot filled croissant and masala chai

What a cute space! We came in for a little treat and had a good experience. Service was welcoming and friendly. The shop is so cute and they had soft music playing and a real fire going. I ordered the masala chai and an apricot filled croissant. The person that assisted us packaged our treats carefully so as not to mess up the decorations on top which was super thoughtful. My boyfriend got a lemon cookie, a chocolate raspberry cupcake, and a frappe. He really liked the cupcake. I adored my chai and thought my croissant was just the slightest bit stale, but otherwise it was very nice. This is such a cool place to visit!

"Famous" cinnamon roll with a tiny blob of frosting! Ridiculous

I am always, always looking for new bakeries when we visit the coast. Newport is our favorite section of coast, and I was so excited to see a new bakery since we last visited. I looked at reviews online and the consensus seemed to be that it was a great place to go. Our last day there was a Thursday and it just happened to be open after their days off. We were so excited to try it! We went in and bought several items to try: a "famous" cinnamon roll, a gingerbread slab, a slice of pumpkin cake, and a fudge brownie. When we ordered the cinnamon roll the girl working the counter asked if we wanted it iced, my husband said "not too much, but yes definitely!" We took everything to go as we were headed to our next hotel. First, after we ran our card we weren't given a receipt. I asked if I could get a receipt and the girl said "it's my first day I don't know how!" And the person working behind her shouted "we don't give receipts, we either email or text them!" I said that I wasn't asked for either my email or my phone number. Her response? She shrugged and went back to working! She didn't even bother to turn around! Rude. I had to go to my car and write it on a piece of paper. Then, when we got to the hotel my husband ate the pumpkin bread- he thought it was very good. This gave us hope for the rest of the items. The brownie was what I chose to try- it was pretty good, fudgy and had chocolate chips in it. Although it was good, it tasted like the ones my husband makes at home. Where it all went a little sideways was the other two items! When my husband tried the gingerbread slab he thought it tasted funny. He turned it over and it was burnt black! I don't know if you've had burnt desserts before, but that taste just soaks right in- making the whole thing inedible. In the garbage it went! Finally my husband went to try the cinnamon roll. When he opened it he got this amazed look on his face. I thought "wow, that must look amazing!" Then I walked over to take a look-- there was the roll and in the middle was the smallest blotch of frosting I'd ever seen! What in the world?? It was ridiculous! That was enough for us- The Blue Pig is off our list! The only thing it did was make us blue from the start! From rude workers to subpar offerings- I definitely do NOT recommend this bakery!

Such a FIND! This bakery/coffee shop/antiques/cool new stuff store is quintessential Oregon coast. We enjoyed the cinnamon roll while sitting by the cozy fireplace, and met owner, Ruby, who is an absolute gem of a human! She has done an incredible job thoughtfully curating the items offered, both for shopping and offered in the bakery cases. We have been there twice now, and it's hard to choose favorites since literally everything is delicious! The pink-iced sugar cookie may share top-spot with the cinnamon roll. We just love this place--thank you, Ruby!

A chocolate cake was requested and delivered- mouthwatering delicious!

Ordered the most exquisite cake for our daughter's birthday and a variety of treats for breakfasts and snacks at a weekend rental. From choosing the items to picking them up, everyone was very kind and helpful, even stayed a little later than closing time for us to pick up. Thank you so much!

Scones ! We got whatever flavor they had that day. Love all the flavors

There's a reason why this place has such high reviews and they completely deserve it! We stopped by here after lunch to grab some coffee on the go, and we were warmly greeted by the workers there. This is a pretty cute cafe with some antique aesthetics. I personally got a blueberry and lemon scone ($5.50) as well as a small latte with a touch of honey ($4.50, with honey / other fixings free of charge). Value is pretty solid even though it sounds a bit pricey on paper, but the quality is high up there. The latte has the right amount of sweetness and very refreshing. The scone is amazing too - almost every scone I tried is rock hard / stale, but this one was so soft yet had the scone texture, which is a perfect balance. I'd say it's one of the best scones I've tried, and it is no wonder that these scones are quite popular here. This is overall a nice find in the heart of Newport, OR.

I cannot say enough good things about Blue Pig Bakery. Nick and Ruby were so hospitable and helped me with my Mom's Birthday cake in a pinch. The stars aligned and Ruby was working on another order that included German Chocolate Cake, and she was able to squeeze in my order for the next day. The cake was beautiful and absolutely DELICIOUS! We will definitely return any time we are in town. Thank you Ruby for simply existing! Our family appreciates you!

Yum! Cardamom latte hit the spot and kids loved the cinnamon rolls. It's a tight space, but easy walk straight to the beach. Very nice!

We wanted the smashed potatoes but we're told they could not be made vegetarian because of the bacon. Leaving bacon off of vegetables seems like a must. I guess they cook their potatoes in the bacon? I'm not sure, but it was a true let down. We opted for fried avocados with a creamy dipping sauce. They were flavor packed and had a crisp outside texture. The brussel sprouts were able to be made vegetarian by taking the bacon off. That was a relief and we enjoyed both of our sides. Staff was friendly and the big windows made this stop a fun time.
